As the core content of pragmatic translation teaching research,pragmatic translation skill is closely correlated with translation technique and operation field.Viewed from the current English teaching situation in colleges and universities,translation skill is not cultivated as an independent language competence.Moreover,its research is insufficient.On account of this,the author first gives an introduction to pragmatic translation skill and pragmatic translation skill structure model in this paper.On this basis,the author also analyzes the application of pragmatic translation skill structure model in translation teaching.

Analysis of Translation Skills of Chinese Dish Name

China is a country that attaches great importance to names,honor,and prestige.The set phrase,to achieve both fame and wealth,gives the true meaning of the word fame.Chinese food culture has a long history,and forms a variety of dishes,These Chinese dishes are popular with the whole world.English translation of Chinese dish can be found everywhere in China nowadays.For example:restaurants have bilingual menus;cook books are translated into English;food is discussed and recommended in English on newspaper,magazines and TV programs.Some of the English equivalents are so wordy or awkward that they read like recipes instead of names.Some are confusing and misleading.The problem is that some dish names embedded with cultural connotation are still translated literally,which makes the menus unintelligible and the target language reader lost chances to enjoy Chinese food culture.Owing to these features of the Chinese culinary culture,the names of Chinese food are kaleidoscopic and deny easy forms.

Translation regulation is an important layer of gene expression:Generation of genome-wide expression datasets at multi-omics levels in spatial,temporal,and cell-type resolution is essential for deciphering brain complexity.Regulation of gene expression is a highly dynamic process aiming at the production of precise levels of gene products to guarantee optimal cellular function,in response to physiological cues.Speedy advances in next-generation sequencing enabled the understanding of epigenomic and transcriptomic dynamic landscapes of different brain regions along development,aging,and disease progression.However,the correlation of the“transcriptome”with protein levels is poor because numerous mRNAs are subjected to manipulation of their translation efficiency,to warrant a favorable result under certain conditions.Hence,it is widely accepted that regulation at the translation level is a vital layer of gene expression.Quantification of actively translated mRNA populations(i.e.,“translatome”)is a more reliable predictor of the“proteome”(Wang et al.,2020).

Defining soft skills in nursing:a concept analysis

Objective:To define soft skills in nursing.Methods:This is a concept analysis using the Walker and Avant approach.Multiple electronic databases in the English language including CINAHL,Science Direct,MEDLINE on EBSCOhost,and Scopus were consulted.Results:Soft skills in nursing include the intrapersonal attributes,interpersonal skills,and creativity of the nurse,which,when combined with professionalism,teamwork,and effective communication skills,improve the quality of nursing care and client satisfaction.Conclusions:Although hard and soft skills are compatible and synergetic,soft skills are to be prioritized for the success of nursing care in the healthcare industry.This concept analysis adds to the body of knowledge by identifying the attributes of soft skills in nursing and revealing that a good nurse needs more than just good grades to be successful.

The Level of Psychosocial Skills of Nurses Caring for Cancer Patients and Affecting Factors:Results of a Multicenter Study

Caring for cancer patients requires both technical and psychosocial nursing skills.The aim of this study was to determine the psychosocial care skill levels of nurses and affecting factors.This multicenter,cross-sectional study was conducted with 1,189 nurses providing direct care to adult cancer patients in 32 hospitals in 12 geographical regions of Turkey.A questionnaire,the Psychosocial Skills Form,and the Professional Quality of Life Scale were used to collect the data.Nurses’psychosocial skill level was in the range of 2.72±0.98 and 2.47±0.89 out of four points.Communication skills such as empathic response,active listening,and the ability to provide information were found to be at a higher level than skills such as the activation of social support systems,therapeutic touch,and development of coping methods.Approximately 40%of nurses had received psychosocial care training,and 87%were interested in receiving additional psychosocial training.Gender,educational status,previous training in psychosocial care,and work experience with cancer patients were shown to affect psychosocial skill levels.There was a positive relationship between the level of psychosocial skills and the level of compassion satisfaction,and a negative relationship between the level of psychosocial skills and the level of burnout and compassion fatigue(p<0.05).Nurses perceive themselves as having a medium to high level of psychosocial skills yet desire additional training.The results of this study may contribute to the development of training programs according to the needs of nurses who care for cancer patients.

This paper presents a Descriptive Translation Study(DTS)analysis of the Chinese translation of the French musical adaptation of Romeo and Juliet,titled Roméo et Juliette:de la Haineàl’Amour.Romeo and Juliet,a timeless play by Shakespeare,has captivated audiences since its premiere in 1597 and has been adapted into various forms,including stage productions,films,musicals,and operas.The focus of this study is to analyze the Chinese translation of the French musical adaptation from a DTS perspective.DTS is an approach that aims to understand the translation process and its reception in the target culture.By examining language choices,cultural references,and adaptation strategies,this study seeks to shed light on how the Chinese translation of the French musical functions within the target culture and influences the reception and interpretation of the source text.This analysis is expected to gain insights into the challenges and strategies employed in translating a musical adaptation of Romeo and Juliet into Chinese.The findings of this study will contribute to the field of translation studies and provide a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in the translation of musical works.

Research on the Role of Guiding Students to Participate in Skills Competitions on the Development of Young Teachers in Vocational Colleges

This paper explores the role of guiding students to participate in skills competitions on the development of young teachers in vocational colleges.We investigate the impact of skills competitions on the consolidation of professional knowledge,development of innovation capabilities,improvement of hands-on abilities,and enhancement of communication skills with students.The results of this research demonstrate that skills competitions have a positive influence on the professional growth of young teachers.The consolidation of professional knowledge,development of innovation capabilities,improvement of hands-on abilities,and enhancement of communication skills collectively contribute to the effectiveness of young teachers in vocational colleges.It is recommended that vocational colleges prioritize and support the participation of young teachers in skills competitions to foster their professional development.
