Tandem language learning is important in enhancing learners’language proficiency and fostering cultural knowledge.However,learners’perspectives on tandem learning programs have received little attention,and no research exists concerning learners’perspectives on long-term tandem language learning.Based on an anonymous online survey,this article examines how learners perceive a face-to-face tandem Chinese language partner program after participation for three years.The results indicate that,whereas the participants acknowledge the benefits of the participation of the language partner program,they identify challenges regarding logistics and task design.The implications of the findings are also discussed. 展开更多

In the context of China, the maximum use of English is promoted at governmental administrative levels to create effective learning policies(Van & Zhao, 2010) However, during the actual teaching process, the rules are frequently broken by teachers. Hence in order to gain a better understanding of the issue in Chinese senior high school context, the present research seeks to examine teachers' and students' attitudes and beliefs with respect to their perceived functions and effects in incorporating L1 in classrooms. In accordance with previous literature, The research indicated positive role of L1, especially in enhancing students' understanding of difficult concepts and creating comfortable learning environment. In addition, it is notable that, in difference from other studies, the National College Entrance Examination has exercised considerable influence on the perceptions of participants. 展开更多

In recent years,it has become a hot topic for researchers to explore the relationships between language and culture,language and translation,or culture and translation.Indeed,the three aspects are inseparable.Language is the carrier of culture and also restricted by culture.Translation mostly takes place between languages and it is a kind of cross-linguistic and intercultural communicative activity.While translating,it is necessary to understand thoroughly the two languages,but also two cultures and cultural differences between them.In this paper,I firstly give a general review on both the conception of language,culture and translation and their relationship and then discussed the interaction and blending separately from the two phenomena of culture-orientation in translation and translation under culture context.Since culture is transmitted mostly by language,cultural elements and factors should be taken into consideration in translation practices.To achieve the goal of translation in a real sense,translation practices should be based on the principle of processing the discourse of source language and target language under the perspective of its cultural context. 展开更多

“国家翻译实践”概念体系的提出为译者行为批评提供了“国家”视点。国家翻译实践是一国翻译实践史之主流,因此有必要从国家视点出发,对译者行为进行考察。本文通过对翻译史上玄奘译经等翻译实践的再检视发现,翻译可以上升为“国家行为... “国家翻译实践”概念体系的提出为译者行为批评提供了“国家”视点。国家翻译实践是一国翻译实践史之主流,因此有必要从国家视点出发,对译者行为进行考察。本文通过对翻译史上玄奘译经等翻译实践的再检视发现,翻译可以上升为“国家行为”,既是语际实践,也是话语实践和政治实践。国家视点的译者主体可扩展为“国家—机构—译者共同体—个体译者”多位一体,译者属性与类型呈现出三维特征。国家视点的译者行为是以国家利益和国家价值的实现为导向的行为,个体译者行为与译者共同体行为的互动关系体现了“国家—共同体—个体译者”意志体间的密切联系。在文本、语言、行为和社会之外,引入国家视点,构建“语言—社会—国家”三维一体的译者行为批评模式,可为译者主体性研究和译者行为批评带来新启发,更好地实现国家翻译实践理论的批评功能。 展开更多
