The size of the source term by the given mode of the source and some observations from the body of the plate is determined over a time interval, which is referred to be an inverse source problem of a plate equation. The uniqueness theorem for this problem is stated, and the fundamental solution to the plate equation is derived. In the case that the plate is driven by the harmonic load, the fundamental solution method (FSM) and the Tikhonov regularization technique axe used to calculate the source term. Numerical experiments of the Euler-Bernoulli beam and the Kirchhoff-Love plate show that the FSM can work well for practical use, no matter the source term is smooth or piecewise.展开更多

The source mechanism solutions of these events are obtained using P-wave first mot...Twenty-two earthquakes (ML=2.2-3.7) in the joint region of Xianshuihe, Longmenshan and An'ninghe faults are studied in this paper. The source mechanism solutions of these events are obtained using P-wave first motion method, and the characteristics of the source stress field and rupture in the joint region are summarized preliminarily with some results of other researchers. Being strongly extruded by the approximately horizontal regional stress with the direction from north-west to south-east and the effect of the complex tectonics in the region, the source stress field has complex and variable characteristics. The earthquakes mainly show normal or strike-slip faults in Yajiang, North-triangle and west of Chengdu-block areas, indicating that the vertical forces have been playing an important role in the source stress fields, while the earthquakes mainly show reverse or strike-slip faults in Baoxing-Tianquan area, with the horizontal components of the principal pressure stress axes identical to the south-west direction to which the shallow mass is moving. We think that the manifold combinations of earthquake faults are the micro-mechanism based upon which the large regional shallow crust mass has been moving continually.展开更多
GIS- or CAD-based technology has been widely used for cartographic maps in coal mines, but structural gaps between such maps make it difficult to provide an integrated map service, for any specific purpose, at higher ...GIS- or CAD-based technology has been widely used for cartographic maps in coal mines, but structural gaps between such maps make it difficult to provide an integrated map service, for any specific purpose, at higher levels. There is no uniform platform that can be used to manage all involved maps. The main reason for this is that datasets are submitted by individual coal mines using their individual, diverse software. No consistent model is used within the software for data abstraction and symbolization. This paper first reviews all the essential specifications concerning OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium) interoperability. Then an OGC standard-oriented architecture is proposed to provide distributed coal mine map services. Within this new architecture the management of spatial data archives, and the integration of coal mine maps, are achieved through the interfaces of geospatial services. Finally an open source geospatial approach is suggested to implement the proposed scheme. A case study of the Huaibei Coal Group is used to demonstrate the proposal.展开更多

The results are that the main shock of Li...The mechanisms of the February 3, 1996 Lijiang main shock, Yunnan Province, are estimated by using the principle to inverse the mechanisms of two point sources simultaneously. The results are that the main shock of Lijiang consists of two large ruptures, the time difference and the distance between the two ruptures are about 12 s (by the inversion) and about 26 km respectively. An extensional normal with strike-slip fault in about the north-south direction was formed by the first rupture, the mechanism of the second rupture is to be further studied. The method to inverse mechanisms of two point sources at the same time and the results obtained by directly analyzing P waveform records of the main shock are introduced, some related problems are also discussed. The Wuding earthquakes of October, 1995 and the Lijiang earthquake are considered to be the manifestation of the same dynamic process at different temporal and spatial points and the occurrence order of the two earthquakes is related to the direction of dynamics transmission.展开更多

By using the so-called fictitious heat source method and images method, the solutions of a semi-infinite saturated porous medium subjected to a local heat source with time-varied intensity on its free surface are developed from elementary solutions. The numerical integral methods for calculating the unsteady temperature, pore pressure and displacement fields are given. The thermomechanical response are analyzed for the case of a circular planar heat source. Besides, the thermal consolidation characteristics of a saturated porous medium subjected to a harmonic thermal loading are also given, and the fluctuation processes of the field variables located below the center of heat source are analyzed.展开更多

An optimization method for determining the position of par...Choosing particular solution source and its position have great influence on accu- racy of sound field prediction in distributed source boundary point method. An optimization method for determining the position of particular solution sources is proposed to get high accu- racy prediction result. In this method, tripole is chosen as the particular solution. The upper limit frequency of calculation is predicted by setting 1% volume velocity relative error limit using vibration velocity of structure surface. Then, the optimal position of particular solution sources, in which the relative error of volume velocity is minimum, is determined within the range of upper limit frequency by searching algorithm using volume velocity matching. The transfer matrix between pressure and surface volume velocity is constructed in the optimal position. After that, the sound radiation of structure is calculated by the matrix. The results of numerical simulation show that the calculation error is significantly reduced by the proposed method. When there are vibration velocity measurement errors, the calculation errors can be controlled within 5% by the method.展开更多

Wellbore pressure response of a slanted well is obtained by integration of the basic point source solution along the trajectory of a slanted well and the type curves are computed. The dimensionless bottom hole pressure and type curves are obtained and the sensitivities of related parameters are discussed. The model presented in this paper could be used for the well test analysis of a slanted well in a reservoir bounded by an impermeable fault.展开更多
