STRONG CONVERGENCE OF APPROXIMATED SEQUENCES FOR NONEXPANSIVE MAPPINGS IN BANACH SPACES

This paper studies the convergence of the sequence defined by x0 ∈ C, xn＋l =αnu＋（1-αn）Txn, n=0, 1,2,..., where 0 ≤αn ≤ 1, limn→∞ αn = 0, ∑n=0^∞ αn = ∞, and T is a nonexpansive mapping from a nonempty closed convex subset C of a Banach space X into itself. The iterative sequence {xn} converges strongly to a fixed point of T in the case when X is a uniformly convex Banach space with a uniformly Gateaux differentiable norm or a uniformly smooth Banach space only. The results presented in this paper extend and improve some recent results.

Polarization visualization for low-irradiance regions by perceptually uniform color space

Currently,polarization visualization strategies are accomplished by mapping polarization information into a perceptually uniform color appearance model CAM02-UCS.However,the deviation of the CAM02-UCS space from the lightness prediction results in an inaccurate match between the polarization information and the perceptual information.In this paper,we propose a novel polarization visualization strategy based on the perceptual uniform space Jzazbz.The polarization visualization be completed by placing the polarization information into the lightness Jz,colorfulness Cz and hue angle hz channels of the Jzazbz space.The experimental results show that the proposed method can significantly improve the lightness of the low irradiance and high polarization region,hence more polarization information can be sensed by human visual system.

THE THEORY AND APPLICATIONS OF GENERALIZED H-SPACE

This paper brings forward the concept of generalized H-spaces which extends the concepts of H-spaces and almost probabilistic metric spaces. In this paper, the uniformity and properties far generalized H-space are considered. The conditions of metrization and the form of metric functions for generalized H-spaces, H-spaces and Menger PM-spaces are given and the characteristics of completeness and compactness for generalized H-spaces are presented. The results of this paper generalize and unify some recent results of [1-2, 8, 10].

ISHIKAWA ITERATIVE PROCESS IN UNIFORMLY SMOOTH BANACH SPACES

Let E be a uniformly smooth Banach space, K be a nonempty closed convex subset of E, and suppose: T: K --> K is a continuous Phi-strongly pseudocontractive operator with a bounded range. Using a new analytical method, under general cases, the Ishikawa iterative process {x(n)} converges strongly to the unique fixed point x* of the operator T were proved. The paper generalizes and extends a lot of recent corresponding results.

A one-step implicit iterative method for two finite families of asymptotically nonexpansive mappings in a hyperbolic space

We introduce a one-step implicit iterative method for two finite families of asymptotically nonexpansive mappings in a hyperbolic space and use it to approximate common fixed points of these families. The results presented in this paper are new in the setting of hyperbolic spaces. On top, these are generalizations of several results in literature from Banach spaces to hyperbolic spaces. At the end of the paper, we give an example to validate our results.

A RANDOM FIXED POINT ITERATION FOR THREE RANDOM OPERATORS ON UNIFORMLY CONVEX BANACH SPACES

Abstract In the present paper we introduce a random iteration scheme for three rondom operators defined on aclosed and convex subset of a uniformly convex Banach space and prove its convergence to a common fixedpoint of three random operators. The result is also an extension of a known theorem in the correspondingnon-random case.

ON THE EXISTENCE OF COMMON FIXED POINTS FOR A PAIR OF LIPSCHITZIAN MAPPINGS IN BANACH SPACES

The existence of common fixed points for a pair of Lipschitzian mappings in Banach spaces is proved. By using this result, some common fixed point theorems are also established for these mappings in Hilbert spaces, in L p spaces, in Hardy spaces H p, and in Sobolev spaces H r,p , for 1<p<+∞ and r≥0.

A system of general nonlinear variational inclusions in Banach spaces

A new system of general nonlinear variational inclusions is introduced and studied in Banach spaces. An iterative algorithm is developed and analyzed by use of the resolvent operator techniques to find the approximate solutions of the system of general nonlinear variational inclusions involving different nonlinear operators in uniformly smooth Banach spaces.

A New System of Generalized Variational Inclusions Involving H-η-monotone Operators in Uniformly Smooth Banach Spaces

In this paper, we introduce and study a new system of generalized vari- ational inclusions involving H-η-monotone operators in uniformly smooth Banach spaces. Using the resolvent operator technique associated with H-η-monotone opera- tors, we prove the approximation solvability of solutions using an iterative algorithm. The results in this paper extend and improve some known results from the literature.

The Formation Control of Multi-agent Systems on a Circle

This paper investigates the formation control of a class of multi-agent systems moving on a circle, whose topology is a cyclic graph, and presents several new results for the following two cases: Case I, the agents with single-integrator kinematics,and Case II, the agents with double-integrator kinematics. Firstly,for Case I, two control protocols are proposed under which the multiagent systems keep a uniformly-spaced formation. Secondly,we study Case II, and a control protocol is designed for this case, then the stability of the formation is proved. Finally, three simulations are studied by using our presented results. The study of illustrative examples with simulations shows that our results as well as designed control protocols work very well in studying the formation control of this class of multi-agent systems.

ALMOST PERIODICITY AND EQUICONTINUITY OF THE TOPOLOGICAL TRANSFORMATION GROUP

In this paper, a characterization of almost periodicity of topological transformation groups on uniform spaces is given. By searching the appropriate base for uniform structure, it is shown that the topological transformation group is topologically equivalent to an isometric one if it is uniformly equicontinuous.

EXISTENCE AND UNIQUENESS OF THE GLOBAL L^(1) SOLUTION OF THE EULER EQUATIONS FOR CHAPLYGIN GAS

In this paper, we establish the global existence and uniqueness of the solution of the Cauchy problem of a one-dimensional compressible isentropic Euler system for a Chaplygin gas with large initial data in the space Lloc1. The hypotheses on the initial data may be the least requirement to ensure the existence of a weak solution in the Lebesgue measurable sense. The novelty and also the essence of the difficulty of the problem lie in the fact that we have neither the requirement on the local boundedness of the density nor that which is bounded away from vacuum. We develop the previous results on this degenerate system.The method used is Lagrangian representation, the essence of which is characteristic analysis.The key point is to prove the existence of the Lagrangian representation and the absolute continuity of the potentials constructed with respect to the space and the time variables.We achieve this by finding a property of the fundamental theorem of calculus for Lebesgue integration, which is a sufficient and necessary condition for judging whether a monotone continuous function is absolutely continuous. The assumptions on the initial data in this paper are believed to also be necessary for ruling out the formation of Dirac singularity of density. The ideas and techniques developed here may be useful for other nonlinear problems involving similar difficulties.

REMARK ON STABILITY OF ISHIKAWA ITERATIVE PROCEDURES

The stability of the Ishikawa iteration procedures was studied for one class of continuity strong pseudocontraction and continuity strongly accretive operators with bounded range in real uniformly smooth Banach space. Under parameters satisfying certain conditions, the convergence of iterative sequences was proved. The results improve and extend the recent corresponding results, and supply the basis of theory for further discussing convergence of iteration procedures with errors.

ISHIKAWA ITERATIVE PROCESS FOR CONSTRUCTING SOLUTIONS OF m-ACCRETIVE OPERATOR EQUATIONS

The convergence of the Ishikawa iteration sequences with errors for constructing solutions of m-accretive operator equations is characterized. Moreover, the error estimates of approximate solutions for locally Lipschitzian and m-accretive operator equations are established.

Strong Convergence Theorems for Mixed Type Asymptotically Nonexpansive Mappings

The purpose of this paper is to study a new two-step iterative scheme with mean errors of mixed type for two asymptotically nonexpansive self-mappings and two asymptotically nonexpansive nonself-mappings and prove strong convergence theorems for the new two-step iterative scheme in uniformly convex Banach spaces.

A new iterative process for approximating common fixed points of nonself I-asymptotically quasi-nonexpansive mappings

In this paper, we introduce an iterative process for two nonself I-asymptotically quasi-nonexpansive mappings and two finite families of such mappings in Banach spaces, and prove some strong convergence theorems for such mappings. Our results extend some existing results.

A Weak Convergence Theorem for A Finite Family of Asymptotically Nonexpansive Mappings

The purpose of this paper is to prove a new weak convergence theorem for a finite family of asymptotically nonexpansive mappings in uniformly convex Banach space.

Picard Approximation of Fixed Points of Nonexpansive Mappings

Let C be a bounded convex subset in a uniformly convex Banach space X, x 0, u n∈C , then x n+1 =S nx n, where S n=α n0 I+α n1 T+α n2 T 2+…+α nk T k+γ nu n, α ni ≥0, 0<α≤α n0 ≤b<1, ∑ki=0α ni +γ n=1, and n≥1. It is proved that x n converges to a fixed point on T if T is a nonexpansive mapping.

Effect of travel speed on seed spacing uniformity of corn seed meter

Both seeding performance of seed metering unit and travel speed of seed planter have significant effects on seeding quality,thereby affecting crop growth and yields.In order to determine the effects of different travel speeds on seed spacing uniformity,four different types of seed meters were evaluated at five different travel speeds on seed meter test bench and in field.The tested seed meters included a finger pickup seed meter,a scoop-wheel seed meter,an air-pressure type seed meter and an air-blowing type seed meter.The seeding performance of the horizontal distribution of seeds within a row was described by using the coefficient of variation,the quality of feed index,the multiple index and the miss-seeding index.Experiments were performed in laboratory and field,respectively.Results indicated that different travel speeds have statistically significant effects on seed spacing uniformity.The four types of seed meters performed better on the seed meter test bench than in the field.Coefficient of variation increases and quality of feed index decreases as the travel speed of seed planter increases.The best seed spacing uniformity was obtained with the air-pressure type seed meter,followed with the air-blowing type seed meter,the finger pickup seed meter and the scoop-wheel seed meter.There were considerable differences between the performances of the scoop-wheel seed meter in the bench test and field test;the seeding qualities were much better in the bench test than in the field test.The scoop-wheel seed meter is more sensitive to vibration than the other types of seed meters.

P-Distances, Q-Distances and a Generalized Ekeland's Variational Principle in Uniform Spaces

In this paper, we attempt to give a unified approach to the existing several versions of Ekeland＇s variational principle. In the framework of uniiorm spaces, we introduce p-distances and more generally, q-distances. Then we introduce a new type of completeness for uniform spaces, i.e., sequential completeness with respect to a q-distance （particularly, a p-distance）, which is a very extensive concept of completeness. By using q-distances and the new type of completeness, we prove a generalized Takahashi＇s nonconvex minimization theorem, a generalized Ekeland＇s variational principle and a generalized Caristi＇s fixed point theorem. Moreover, we show that the above three theorems are equivalent to each other. From the generalized Ekeland＇s variational principle, we deduce a number of particular versions of Ekeland＇s principle, which include many known versions of the principle and their improvements.
