In response to this, an algorithm has been developed for integration of geological, geophysical and seismological data through a spatial index showing the presence or absence of a potential seismic source feature in the input data. The spatial matching index (SMI) is calculated to define the coincidence of independent data showing any indications for existence of a fault structure. It is applied for hazard assessment of Bulgaria through quantification of the seismic potential of 416 square blocks, 20 × 20 km in size covering the entire territory of Bulgaria and extended by 20 km outside of the country borders. All operations are carried out in GIS environment using its capabilities to work with different types of georeferenced spatial data. Results show that the highest seismic potential (largest SMI) is observed in 56 block elements (13% of the territory) clearly delineating cores of the source zones. Partial match is registered in 98 block elements when one of the features is missing. Not any evidence for earthquake occurrence is predicted by our calculation in 117 elements, comprising 28% of the examined area. The quantitative parameter for spatial data integration which is obtained in the present research may be used to analyze information regardless of its type and purpose.展开更多

Firstly, the categorygiven representative images are chosen through clustering to be templates, and the local and spatial information of template are ex- tracted and generalized as the template feature. At the same time, the codebook dictionary of local contour is also built up. Secondly, based on the codebook dictionary, sliding-window mechanism and the vote algorithm are used to select initial candidate object win- dows. Lastly, the final object windows are got from initial candidate windows based on local and spatial structure feature matching. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach is able to consistently identify and accurately detect the objects with better performance than the existing methods.展开更多

We introduce the hierarchical combination matching into the feature comparison, and build a map between the divided regions of two models, and then achieve accurate feature matching based on patch-by-patch, which successfully introduces the spatial information into feature matching. Verified by experiment, the 3D model retrieval method proposed in this paper based on hierarchical combination matching can make sure more accurate feature matching, so as to enhance the precision of retrieval.展开更多

Our motivation was to reduce the space overhead of partition-based approaches taking advantage of the fact that only a relatively low number of distinct values of a particular visual feature is present in most images. To extract color feature and build indices into our image database we take into consideration factors such as human color perception and perceptual range, and the image is partitioned into a set of regions by using a simple classifying scheme. The compact color feature vector and the spatial color histogram, which are extracted from the seqmented image region, are used for representing the color and spatial information in the image. We have also developed the region-based distance measures to compare the similarity of two images. Extensive tests on a large image collection were conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.展开更多
