However, high-frequency circuit oscillation occurs during the underwater high voltage pulse discharge process, which brings security risks to the stability of the pulse fracturing system. In order to solve this problem, an underwater pulse power discharge system was established, the circuit oscillation generation conditions were analyzed and the circuit oscillation suppression method was proposed. Firstly, the system structure was introduced and the charging model of the energy storage capacitor was established by the state space average method. Next, the electrode high-voltage breakdown model was established through COMSOL software, the electrode breakdown process was analyzed according to the electron density distribution image, and the plasma channel impedance was estimated based on the conductivity simulation results. Then the underwater pulse power discharge process and the circuit oscillation generation condition were analyzed, and the circuit oscillation suppression strategy of using the thyristor to replace the gas spark switch was proposed. Finally, laboratory experiments were carried out to verify the precision of the theoretical model and the suppression effect of circuit oscillation. The experimental results show that the voltage variation of the energy storage capacitor, the impedance change of the pulse power discharge process, and the equivalent circuit in each discharge stage were consistent with the theoretical model. The proposed oscillation suppression strategy cannot only prevent the damage caused by circuit oscillation but also reduce the damping oscillation time by77.1%, which can greatly improve the stability of the system. This research has potential application value in the field of underwater pulse power discharge for reservoir reconstruction.展开更多

Noticing many FGMs may have temperature-dependent properties, the material constants were further considered as functions of temperature. A solution method based on state-space formulations with a laminate approximate model was proposed. For a thin plate, the method was clarified by comparison with the thin plate theory. The influences of material inhomogeneity and temperature-dependent characteristics were finally discussed through numerical examples.展开更多

By introducing two displacement functions and two stress functions, two independent state equations were constructed based on the three-dimensional elasticity equations for transverse isotropy. The original differential equations are thus decoupled with the order reduced that will facilitate obtaining solutions of various problems. For the simply supported rectangular plate, two relations between the state variables at the tap and bottom surfaces were established. In particular, for the free vibration ( stability) problem, it is found that there exist two independent classes: One corresponds to the pure in-plane vibration (stability) and the other to the general bending vibration (stability). Numerical examples are finally presented and the effects of same parameters are discussed.展开更多

One is the boundary element domain which includes the interested inner point, and the other is the state space domain. The boundary integral equation and the state space equation are combined together based on the interfacial continuity condition to form the system equation of the SSBEM. The SSBEM synthe- sizes both advantages of the boundary element method and the state space method. However, it can give inaccurate results when being used to evaluate the mechanical quantity of a point very close to the boundary element, because the Gaussian quadrature fails to calculate the nearly singular integrals. The analytical formulas were developed by part of the authors before intro- duced to deal with the nearly singular integrals. Thus, the SSBEM can yield accurate physical quantities for the points very close to the boundary element. The SSBEM results agree well with those of the finite element method (FEM), while the discretized elements are far fewer than those of the FEM. Meanwhile, the SSBEM can analyze very thin coating, while the FEM fails due to the limitation of tolerance for Boolean operations.展开更多

Genetic Algorithm is a probabilistic search algorithm which is substantially used as an optimization technique in power electronics. A bunch of modifications have already been introduced to enhance the performance depending upon the applications. However, in this paper, modified genetic algorithm has been used in order to tune the key parameters in the converter. Hence, an analysis is carried out where the performance of the converter is illustrated in terms of rise time, settling time and percentage of overshoot by deploying GA based PID controller and the overall comparative study is presented. Responses of the overall system are accumulated through rigorous simulation in MATLAB environment.展开更多

The high speed cell converter with the switching frequency over MHz behaves as an ideal transformer, and this behavior solves the voltage imbalance issue in the multicellular converter topology. The analysis of the unregulated cell converter is conducted by using the state space averaging method, and the operation condition for the ideal transformer is specified. The behavior of the multicellular DCX using the high speed cell converters has been also analyzed, and the voltage imbalance issue among cell converters is discussed quantitatively. A prototype of a 19.2 kW 384 V-384 V multicellular DCX using sixty-four unregulated cell converters is fabricated and the validity of the analyses is verified.展开更多

Both the number of layers and the stacking sequence of the composite cylinder can be arbitrary. General mechanical, electric and magnetic boundary conditions can be applied at both the inner and outer cylindrical surfaces. The state space method is employed so that only a 2×2 matrix is involved in the whole solving procedure. In the nu-merical experiments, the distributions of elastic, electric as well as magnetic fields in an internally pressurized rotating BaTiO3/CoFe2O4 composite hollow cylinder subjected to different boundary conditions are presented graphically. The results clearly show that the stress fields in a multiferroic composite cylinder are controllable.展开更多
