This new model devises sender-initiated protocol for load transfer for load balancing. Groups are formed and every group has a node called a designated representative (DR). During load transferring processes, loads are transferred using the DR in each group to achieve load balancing purposes. The simulation results show that the performance of the protocol proposed is better than the compared conventional method. This protocol is more stable than the method without using the fuzzy logic control.展开更多
Objective:To analyze the effects of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation combined with motor control training on the treatment of stroke-induced hemiplegia,specifically focusing on the impact on patients’bala...Objective:To analyze the effects of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation combined with motor control training on the treatment of stroke-induced hemiplegia,specifically focusing on the impact on patients’balance function and gait.Methods:Fifty-two cases of hemiplegic stroke patients were randomly divided into two groups,26 in the control group and 26 in the observation group,using computer-generated random grouping.All participants underwent conventional treatment and rehabilitation training.In addition to these,the control group received repetitive transcranial magnetic pseudo-stimulation therapy+motor control training,while the observation group received repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation therapy+motor control training.The balance function and gait parameters of both groups were compared before and after the interventions and assessed the satisfaction of the interventions in both groups.Results:Before the invention,there were no significant differences in balance function scores and each gait parameter between the two groups(P>0.05).However,after the intervention,the observation group showed higher balance function scores compared to the control group(P<0.05).The observation group also exhibited higher step speed and step frequency,longer step length,and a higher overall satisfaction level with the intervention compared to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The combination of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation and motor control training in the treatment of stroke-induced hemiplegia has demonstrated positive effects.It not only improves the patient’s balance function and gait but also contributes to overall physical rehabilitation.展开更多

And multiple controllers are deployed to improve the scalability and reliability of the control plane, which could divide the network into several subdomains with separate controllers. However, such deployment introduces a new problem of controller load imbalance due to the dynamic traffic and the static configuration between switches and controllers. To address this issue, this paper proposes a Distribution Decision Mechanism(DDM) based on switch migration in the multiple subdomains SDN network. Firstly, through collecting network information, it constructs distributed migration decision fields based on the controller load condition. Then we choose the migrating switches according to the selection probability, and the target controllers are determined by integrating three network costs, including data collection, switch migration and controller state synchronization. Finally, we set the migrating countdown to achieve the ordered switch migration. Through verifying several evaluation indexes, results show that the proposed mechanism can achieve controller load balancing with better performance.展开更多

Site commissioning effect on Daqing Oilfield shows this fan-shaped adaptive balancing intelligent device can effectively adjust and monitor the pumping unit in real time, the balance even adjusts from 0.787 to 0.901, and integrated energy saving rate is 14.2%. In this framework, each energy storage unit (ESU) processes the state-of-charge (...This paper presents a fully distributed state-of-charge balance control (DSBC) strategy for a distributed energy storage system (DESS). In this framework, each energy storage unit (ESU) processes the state-of-charge (SoC) information from its neighbors locally and adjusts the virtual impedance of the droop controller in real-time to change the current sharing. It is shown that the SoC balance of all ESUs can be achieved. Due to virtual impedance, voltage deviation of the bus occurs inevitably and increases with load power. Meanwhile, widespread of the constant power load (CPL) in the power system may cause instability. To ensure reliable operation of DESS under the proposed DSBC, the concept of the safe region is put forward. Within the safe region, DESS is stable and voltage deviation is acceptable. The boundary conditions of the safe region are derived from the equivalent model of DESS, in which stability is analyzed in terms of modified Brayton-Moser's criterion. Both simulations and hardware experiments verify the accuracy of the safe region and effectiveness of the proposed DSBC strategy.展开更多

Fuzzy logic control is applied in this approach to avoid using a fixed threshold value in load balancing in ad-hoc networks. Performance for the receiver-initiated approach is evaluated and compared with other load balancing approaches—BID protocol, fuzzy logic sender-initiated algorithm and non-fuzzy (threshold based) receiver-initiated algorithm. However, renewable energy power supplies have unstable output due to the influence of weather conditions such as wind speed variations, which may cause fluctuations of voltage and frequency in the power system. This paper proposes fuzzy PD based virtual inertia control system to decrease frequency fluctuations in power system caused by fluctuating output of renewable energy sources. The proposed new method is based on the coordinated control of HVDC interconnection line and battery, and energy balancing control is also incorporated in it. Finally, it is concluded that the proposed system is very effective for suppressing the frequency fluctuations of the power system due to the large-scale wind power generation and solar power generation and also for keeping the energy balancing in the HVDC transmission line.展开更多

In order to avoid these shortcomings, a simple adaptive controller was designed for a strictly positive real rotor system with actuator time delay, then a Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional was constructed after an appropriate transform of this sys-tem model, the stability conditions of this adaptive control system with actuator time delay were derived. After adding a filter function, the active balancing system for the fast speed-varying Jeffcott rotor with actuator time delay can easily be converted to a strictly positive real system, and thus it can use the above adaptive controller satisfying the stability conditions. Finally, numerical simulations show that the adaptive controller proposed works very well to perform the active balancing for the fast speed-varying Jeffcott rotor with actuator time delay.展开更多
Web service applications are increasing tremendously in support of high-level businesses.There must be a need of better server load balancing mechanism for improving the performance of web services in business.Though ...Web service applications are increasing tremendously in support of high-level businesses.There must be a need of better server load balancing mechanism for improving the performance of web services in business.Though many load balancing methods exist,there is still a need for sophisticated load bal-ancing mechanism for not letting the clients to get frustrated.In this work,the ser-ver with minimum response time and the server having less traffic volume were selected for the aimed server to process the forthcoming requests.The Servers are probed with adaptive control of time with two thresholds L and U to indicate the status of server load in terms of response time difference as low,medium and high load by the load balancing application.Fetching the real time responses of entire servers in the server farm is a key component of this intelligent Load balancing system.Many Load Balancing schemes are based on the graded thresholds,because the exact information about the networkflux is difficult to obtain.Using two thresholds L and U,it is possible to indicate the load on particular server as low,medium or high depending on the Maximum response time difference of the servers present in the server farm which is below L,between L and U or above U respectively.However,the existing works of load balancing in the server farm incorporatefixed time to measure real time response time,which in general are not optimal for all traffic conditions.Therefore,an algorithm based on Propor-tional Integration and Derivative neural network controller was designed with two thresholds for tuning the timing to probe the server for near optimal perfor-mance.The emulation results has shown a significant gain in the performance by tuning the threshold time.In addition to that,tuning algorithm is implemented in conjunction with Load Balancing scheme which does not tune thefixed time slots.展开更多

The phase currents at both sides and the DC-link capacitor voltages were measured for th...A comprehensive predictive strategy was proposed for the neutral-point balancing control of back-to-back three-level converters. The phase currents at both sides and the DC-link capacitor voltages were measured for the prediction of the neutral-point current. A quality function was found to balance the neutral-point, and a metabolic on-times distribution factor was used as a predicator to minimize the quality function at each switching state. Simulation results show that the proposed method produces smaller ripples in tested signals compared with the established one, namely, 9.15% less in a total harmonic distortion(THD) of line-to-line voltage, 1.08% less in the THD of phase current, and 0.9 V less in the ripple of the neutral-point voltage. The obtained experimental results show that the main harmonics of the line-to-line voltage and the phase current in the proposed method are improved by 10 d B and 6 d B, respectively, and the ripple of neutral-point voltage is halved compared to the established one.展开更多

In addition, a t...The purpose of this study is to develop a self-balancing controller (SBC) for one-wheeled vehicles (OWVs). The composition of the OWV system includes: a DSP motion card, a wheel motor, and its driver. In addition, a tilt and a gyro, for sensing the angle and angular velocity of the body slope, are used to realize self-balancing controls. OWV, a kind of unicycle robot, can be dealt with as a mobile-inverted-pendulum system for its instability. However, for its possible applications in mobile carriers or robots, it is worth being further developed. In this study, first, the OWV system model will be derived. Next, through the simulations based on the mathematical model, the analysis of system stability and controllability can be evaluated. Last, a concise and realizable method, through system pole-placement and linear quadratic regulator (LQR), will be proposed to design the SBC. The effectiveness, reliability, and feasibility of the proposal will be con- firmed through simulation studies and experimenting on a physical OWV.展开更多

However, when MMC switches to...Modular multilevel converter (MMC) based fault ride through (FRT) control is a promising solution to deal with the pole-to-ground (PTG) fault in high voltage direct current (HVDC) system. However, when MMC switches to the FRT control, capacitor voltage imbalance between upper and lower arms will occur, resulting in the deterioration of FRT performance. This letter provides a comprehensive analysis for the imbalance issue from the perspective of fundamental frequency circulating current (FFCC). It is found the imbalance during FRT stage will not expand continuously, but converge to a certain value gradually. The specific imbalance degree is closely associated with the amplitude of FFCC. In order to solve the imbalance issue, an open-loop balancing control is proposed. By introducing a fundamental frequency feedforward item to the inherent circulating current control, the proposed method can not only balance the capacitor voltages, but also minimize the amplitude of FFCC, and consequently the power loss of MMC during FRT process can be reduced. Finally, simulation results of PSCAD/ EMTDC verify the validity of theoretical analysis.展开更多

Numerical and experimental researches were made in a...The possibility of underground imbalance between heat emission and absorption has a negative impact on the performance of ground-source heat pump systems (GSHPs). Numerical and experimental researches were made in a residential building, which is supplied with a GSHP system and a ceiling radiation system combined with a replacement fresh air system. EnergyPlus simulations were used to estimate heating and cooling loads, and to assess the heat generated from the water pump, the fan and the heat pump unit. Then, Fluent simulations were used to compare three different control strategies of handling the underground heat exchange. These simulations were strongly based on an experimentally verified model. It is obtained that a ratio between cooling and heating loads is 5.08 : 1 in a case study in Nanjing. Moreover, the control strategy based on the starting time is more efficient and reliable than the temperature and temperature difference strategies to control the underground heat exchange.展开更多
Capacitor voltage imbalance in four-level(4L)neutral-point clamped(NPC)converters is a direct factor hindering their application.In particular,when they are applied in motor drives,space vector pulse-width modulation(...Capacitor voltage imbalance in four-level(4L)neutral-point clamped(NPC)converters is a direct factor hindering their application.In particular,when they are applied in motor drives,space vector pulse-width modulation(SVPWM)is a more popular scheme,but conventional 4L SVPWM cannot achieve the voltage balancing control of DC-link capacitors,is complex to implement,and requires costly computation.A hybrid modulation method with capacitor voltage-balancing control for 4L NPC converters is proposed.The proposed method is achieved using three-level(3L)SVPWM and two-level(2L)carrier-based pulse-width modulation(CPWM)based on the concept of"4L=3L+2L".Thus,it can be easily implemented on a digital chip because the modulation process is nearly identical to that of 3L SVPWM without the more cumbersome 4L SVPWM algorithm.Meanwhile,any proven optimization scheme of 3L SVPWM can be directly applied to the proposed method to further improve performance.Simulation and experimental results for a 4L active NPC converter demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.展开更多

In this framework, each energy storage unit (ESU) processes the state-of-charge (SoC) information from its neighbors locally and adjusts the virtual impedance of the droop controller in real-time to change the current sharing. It is shown that the SoC balance of all ESUs can be achieved. Due to virtual impedance, voltage deviation of the bus occurs inevitably and increases with load power. Meanwhile, widespread of the constant power load (CPL) in the power system may cause instability. To ensure reliable operation of DESS under the proposed DSBC, the concept of the safe region is put forward. Within the safe region, DESS is stable and voltage deviation is acceptable. The boundary conditions of the safe region are derived from the equivalent model of DESS, in which stability is analyzed in terms of modified Brayton-Moser's criterion. Both simulations and hardware experiments verify the accuracy of the safe region and effectiveness of the proposed DSBC strategy.
文摘In the designed automatic balancing head, a non contact induction transformer is used to deliver driving energy to solve the problem of current fed and controlling on line. Computer controlled automatic balancing experiments with phase magnitude control tactics were performed on a flexible rotor system. Results of the experiments prove that the energy feeding method and the control tactics are effective in the automatic balancing head for vibration controlling.
文摘This paper proposes a new approach for load balancing by using receiver-initiated load transfer method. Usually data transfer for load balancing starts from a sender node. This is what called a sender-initiated method. In this paper, instead, a load balancing action starts from a receiver node;the receiver node initiates load balancing for asking a sender node for load transfer. Fuzzy logic control is applied in this approach to avoid using a fixed threshold value in load balancing in ad-hoc networks. Performance for the receiver-initiated approach is evaluated and compared with other load balancing approaches—BID protocol, fuzzy logic sender-initiated algorithm and non-fuzzy (threshold based) receiver-initiated algorithm. The results show that the receiver-initiated approach improves network performance by comparing with the other three.
文摘Recently, introduction of renewable energy sources like wind power generation and photovoltaic power generation has been increasing from the viewpoint of environmental problems. However, renewable energy power supplies have unstable output due to the influence of weather conditions such as wind speed variations, which may cause fluctuations of voltage and frequency in the power system. This paper proposes fuzzy PD based virtual inertia control system to decrease frequency fluctuations in power system caused by fluctuating output of renewable energy sources. The proposed new method is based on the coordinated control of HVDC interconnection line and battery, and energy balancing control is also incorporated in it. Finally, it is concluded that the proposed system is very effective for suppressing the frequency fluctuations of the power system due to the large-scale wind power generation and solar power generation and also for keeping the energy balancing in the HVDC transmission line.

文摘This paper discusses about balancing control of unicycle robot.Unicycle robot consists of pitch which acts like inverted pendulum and roll which acts like reaction wheel pendulum.The robot which does not have actuator located in yaw axis is made to derive the simple dynamics.Lagrange equation is applied to deriving dynamic equations.Obtained dynamic equations are used to design the sliding mode control.State variables of the designed control are pitch angle and roll angle.Sliding mode control has chattering problem,which is eliminated by using the sigmoid function as switching function.Finally the control performance and eliminated chattering problem is verified by simulation.
文摘Due to actuator time delay existing in an adaptive control of the active balancing system for a fast speed-varying Jeffcott rotor, if an unsynchronized control force (correction imbalance) is applied to the system, it may lead to degradation in control efficiency and instability of the control system. In order to avoid these shortcomings, a simple adaptive controller was designed for a strictly positive real rotor system with actuator time delay, then a Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional was constructed after an appropriate transform of this sys-tem model, the stability conditions of this adaptive control system with actuator time delay were derived. After adding a filter function, the active balancing system for the fast speed-varying Jeffcott rotor with actuator time delay can easily be converted to a strictly positive real system, and thus it can use the above adaptive controller satisfying the stability conditions. Finally, numerical simulations show that the adaptive controller proposed works very well to perform the active balancing for the fast speed-varying Jeffcott rotor with actuator time delay.
文摘Web service applications are increasing tremendously in support of high-level businesses.There must be a need of better server load balancing mechanism for improving the performance of web services in business.Though many load balancing methods exist,there is still a need for sophisticated load bal-ancing mechanism for not letting the clients to get frustrated.In this work,the ser-ver with minimum response time and the server having less traffic volume were selected for the aimed server to process the forthcoming requests.The Servers are probed with adaptive control of time with two thresholds L and U to indicate the status of server load in terms of response time difference as low,medium and high load by the load balancing application.Fetching the real time responses of entire servers in the server farm is a key component of this intelligent Load balancing system.Many Load Balancing schemes are based on the graded thresholds,because the exact information about the networkflux is difficult to obtain.Using two thresholds L and U,it is possible to indicate the load on particular server as low,medium or high depending on the Maximum response time difference of the servers present in the server farm which is below L,between L and U or above U respectively.However,the existing works of load balancing in the server farm incorporatefixed time to measure real time response time,which in general are not optimal for all traffic conditions.Therefore,an algorithm based on Propor-tional Integration and Derivative neural network controller was designed with two thresholds for tuning the timing to probe the server for near optimal perfor-mance.The emulation results has shown a significant gain in the performance by tuning the threshold time.In addition to that,tuning algorithm is implemented in conjunction with Load Balancing scheme which does not tune thefixed time slots.

文摘A comprehensive predictive strategy was proposed for the neutral-point balancing control of back-to-back three-level converters. The phase currents at both sides and the DC-link capacitor voltages were measured for the prediction of the neutral-point current. A quality function was found to balance the neutral-point, and a metabolic on-times distribution factor was used as a predicator to minimize the quality function at each switching state. Simulation results show that the proposed method produces smaller ripples in tested signals compared with the established one, namely, 9.15% less in a total harmonic distortion(THD) of line-to-line voltage, 1.08% less in the THD of phase current, and 0.9 V less in the ripple of the neutral-point voltage. The obtained experimental results show that the main harmonics of the line-to-line voltage and the phase current in the proposed method are improved by 10 d B and 6 d B, respectively, and the ripple of neutral-point voltage is halved compared to the established one.
文摘The purpose of this study is to develop a self-balancing controller (SBC) for one-wheeled vehicles (OWVs). The composition of the OWV system includes: a DSP motion card, a wheel motor, and its driver. In addition, a tilt and a gyro, for sensing the angle and angular velocity of the body slope, are used to realize self-balancing controls. OWV, a kind of unicycle robot, can be dealt with as a mobile-inverted-pendulum system for its instability. However, for its possible applications in mobile carriers or robots, it is worth being further developed. In this study, first, the OWV system model will be derived. Next, through the simulations based on the mathematical model, the analysis of system stability and controllability can be evaluated. Last, a concise and realizable method, through system pole-placement and linear quadratic regulator (LQR), will be proposed to design the SBC. The effectiveness, reliability, and feasibility of the proposal will be con- firmed through simulation studies and experimenting on a physical OWV.

文摘Modular multilevel converter (MMC) based fault ride through (FRT) control is a promising solution to deal with the pole-to-ground (PTG) fault in high voltage direct current (HVDC) system. However, when MMC switches to the FRT control, capacitor voltage imbalance between upper and lower arms will occur, resulting in the deterioration of FRT performance. This letter provides a comprehensive analysis for the imbalance issue from the perspective of fundamental frequency circulating current (FFCC). It is found the imbalance during FRT stage will not expand continuously, but converge to a certain value gradually. The specific imbalance degree is closely associated with the amplitude of FFCC. In order to solve the imbalance issue, an open-loop balancing control is proposed. By introducing a fundamental frequency feedforward item to the inherent circulating current control, the proposed method can not only balance the capacitor voltages, but also minimize the amplitude of FFCC, and consequently the power loss of MMC during FRT process can be reduced. Finally, simulation results of PSCAD/ EMTDC verify the validity of theoretical analysis.

文摘The modular multilevel matrix converter(M3C)is a potential frequency converter for low-frequency AC transmission.However,capacitor voltage control of high-voltage and largecapacity M3C is more difficult,especially for voltage balancing between branches.To solve this problem,this paper defines sequence circulating components and theoretically analyzes the influence mechanism of different sequence circulating components on branch capacitor voltage.A fully decoupled branch energy balancing control method based on four groups of sequence circulating components is proposed.This method can control capacitor voltages of nine branches in horizontal,vertical and diagonal directions.Considering influences of both circulating current and voltage,a cross decoupled control is designed to improve control precision.Simulation results are taken from a low-frequency transmission system based on PSCAD/EMTDC,and effectiveness and precision of the proposed branch energy balancing control method are verified in the case of nonuniform parameters and an unbalanced power system.
文摘The possibility of underground imbalance between heat emission and absorption has a negative impact on the performance of ground-source heat pump systems (GSHPs). Numerical and experimental researches were made in a residential building, which is supplied with a GSHP system and a ceiling radiation system combined with a replacement fresh air system. EnergyPlus simulations were used to estimate heating and cooling loads, and to assess the heat generated from the water pump, the fan and the heat pump unit. Then, Fluent simulations were used to compare three different control strategies of handling the underground heat exchange. These simulations were strongly based on an experimentally verified model. It is obtained that a ratio between cooling and heating loads is 5.08 : 1 in a case study in Nanjing. Moreover, the control strategy based on the starting time is more efficient and reliable than the temperature and temperature difference strategies to control the underground heat exchange.

文摘Capacitor voltage imbalance in four-level(4L)neutral-point clamped(NPC)converters is a direct factor hindering their application.In particular,when they are applied in motor drives,space vector pulse-width modulation(SVPWM)is a more popular scheme,but conventional 4L SVPWM cannot achieve the voltage balancing control of DC-link capacitors,is complex to implement,and requires costly computation.A hybrid modulation method with capacitor voltage-balancing control for 4L NPC converters is proposed.The proposed method is achieved using three-level(3L)SVPWM and two-level(2L)carrier-based pulse-width modulation(CPWM)based on the concept of"4L=3L+2L".Thus,it can be easily implemented on a digital chip because the modulation process is nearly identical to that of 3L SVPWM without the more cumbersome 4L SVPWM algorithm.Meanwhile,any proven optimization scheme of 3L SVPWM can be directly applied to the proposed method to further improve performance.Simulation and experimental results for a 4L active NPC converter demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
