The experimental results show that the flexural strength of Al2O3 decreases with increasing specimen height at room temperature, and it tends to stability when height increases to a certain degree (h=5mm in this paper), while the flexural strength of Al2O3 variates unapparently at high temperature with increasing height. There is a critical loading rate R . c. When loading rate R . is less than R . c, the flexural strength of Al2O3 increases with increasing loading rate and it drops sharply when loading rate is higher than R . c. The sensitivity of flexural strength to the loading rate decreases with elevating temperatures.展开更多

文摘For the purpose of investigating the dynamic deformational behavior and failure mechanisms of magnesium under high strain rates, the Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar(SHPB)was used for investigating dynamic mechanical properties of extruded Mg-Gd-Y Magnesium alloy at ambient temperature(300 K),200℃(473 K)and 300℃(573 K)temperature. The samples after compression were analyzed by scanning electron microscope(SEM)and metallographic microscope.Dynamic mechanical properties, crack performance and plastic deformation mechanism of extruded Mg-Gd-Y Magnesium alloy along the extrusion direction(ED)were discussed. The results show that, extruded Mg-Gd-Y Magnesium alloy has the largest dynamic compressive strength which is 535 MPa at ambient temperature(300 K)and strain rate of 2826 s^(−1).When temperature increases, dynamic compressive strength decreases, while ductility increases. The dynamic compression fracture mechanism of extruded Mg-Gd-Y Magnesium alloy is multi-crack propagation and intergranular quasi-cleavage fracture at both ambient temperature and high temperature. The dynamic compressive deformation mechanism of extruded Mg-Gd-Y Magnesium alloy is a combination of twinning, slipping and dynamic recrystallization at both ambient temperature and high temperature.

文摘Temperature and other environmental factors play an integral role in the metabolic adjustments of animals and drive a series of morphological, physiological, and behavioral adaptions essential to survival. However,it is not clear how the capacity of an organism for temperature acclimation translates into seasonal acclimatization to maintain survival.Basal metabolic rate(BMR),evaporative water loss(EWL),and energy budget were measured in the Chinese Hwamei(Garrulax canorus)following winter and summer acclimatization, and in those acclimatized to 15℃(cold)and 35℃(warm)under laboratory conditions for 28 days.In addition to the above indicators, internal organ masses,as well as state 4 respiration and cytochrome c oxidase(COX)activity were also measured for the liver, skeletal muscle, heart, and kidney. Both winter-acclimatized and cold-acclimated birds exhibited significantly higher BMR,EWL,and energy budget,as well as organ masses, state 4 respiration, and COX activity compared with the summer-acclimatized and warm-acclimated birds. This indicated that the Chinese Hwamei could adapt to seasonal or just temperature changes through some physiological and biochemical thermogenic adjustments, which would be beneficial to cope with natural environmental changes.A general linear model showed that body mass,BMR,GEI,state 4 respiration in the liver and kidney, and COX activity in the skeletal muscle, liver, and kidney were significantly affected by temperature and acclimation.A positive correlation was observed between BMR and each of the other parameters(body mass,EWL,energy budget, heart dry mass, kidney dry mass, state 4 respiration)in the muscle, heart, and kidney and also between BMR and COX activity in the muscle and kidney. The results suggested that similar to seasonal acclimatization,Chinese Hwameis subjected to temperature acclimation also exhibited significant differences in metabolism-related physiological and biochemical parameters, depending on the temperature. The data also supported the prediction that metabolic adjustment might be the primary means by which small birds meet the energetic challenges triggered by cold conditions.
文摘temperature and the diasolved oxygen content affect the oxygen consumption of juveniles of Chinese prawn (Penaeus chinensis), giant tiger prawn (P. monodon) and giant freshwater prawn(Macrobrachium rosenbergii). There is good correlation between the oxygen consumption rate (V, mg/g·h) of the above three prawn species and the water temperature, and dissolved oxygen. In the range of test temperature, V increased with water temperature and diassolved oxygen content. The V of the above three prawn species increased 0.085 mg/g·h, 0. 093 mg/g·h and 0. 08 mg/g·h respectively with each ℃ of rising temperature. The comatose point and stifling point of the juveniles rose obviously at unsuitable temperature.

文摘The impact of water temperature(24, 27, 30 and 33℃) and salinity(15, 20, 25, 30 and 33) on oxygen consumption(OCR) and ammonium excretion rate(AER) of ♀ Epinephelus fuscoguttatus ×♂ E. lanceolatus hybrid grouper juveniles(9.39 ± 0.07 g) were investigated under the fed and un-fed conditions. The results showed that the OCR and AER were significantly(P < 0.05) affected by temperature and salinity under both fed and un-fed conditions. When temperature was 24–33℃, the OCR and AER of fed hybrid grouper juveniles were 85.68%–129.52% and 125.78%–287.63%, respectively, higher than those of un-fed hybrid grouper juveniles. The O/N ratio, protein use(P_u), Q_(10)(respiration) and Q_(10)(excretion) of fed hybrid grouper juveniles were 14.43–24.01, 28.35% – 48.48%, 1.69 and 3.01, respectively. The O/N ratio, P_u, Q_(10)(respiration), Q_(10)(excretion) of un-fed hybrid grouper juveniles were 20.39 – 31.79, 22.16% – 34.34%, 1.23 and 1.17, respectively. When salinity was 15–33, the OCR and AER of fed hybrid grouper juveniles increased by 87.42% – 116.85% and 215.38% – 353.57%, respectively, over those of un-fed hybrid grouper juveniles. The O/N ratio and P_u of fed hybrid grouper juveniles were 14.48 – 17.78, 39.36% – 49.43%, respectively. The O/N ratio and Pu of un-fed hybrid grouper juveniles were 20.39 – 31.79 and 22.16% – 34.34%, respectively. The specific dynamic action(SDA) of hybrid grouper juveniles was mainly related to protein metabolism. The results had a guiding significance to the large-scale intensive aquaculture of hybrid grouper juveniles.

文摘The controlling plastic deformation mechanisms(i.e.slip or twinning)and the structural crash performance of Mg alloys are strongly influenced by loading mode, texture and microstructure. This paper summarizes the main results from an experimental program to assess these effects for commercial Mg alloy extrusions(AM30 and AZ31),sheet(AZ31),and high pressure die castings(HPDC,AM50 and AM60).Uniaxial tensile and compressive tests were performed over a wide range of strain rate and temperature(i.e.0.00075–2800 s^(−1) and 100℃ to−150℃)using conventional servo-hydraulic and high-strain-rate universal test machines and a split-Hopkinson-bar(SHB)apparatus.In primarily-slip-dominant deformation, the true stress–strain curves showed approximate power-law behavior, and the effects of strain rate and temperature on yield strength could be approximately described by constitutive equations linearly dependent on the rate parameter,Tln(5.3×10^(7)/ɛ˙)where T is test temperature in Kelvin andɛ˙is strain rate in s^(−1).In primarily-twin-dominant deformation, the effects of strain rate and temperature on yield and initial flow stress were negligible or small from quasi-static to 2800 s^(−1) owing to the athermal characteristics of mechanical twinning;the effects may become more pronounced with exhaustion of twinning and increasing proportion of slip.
文摘A method of estimating the critical rate of temperature increase of thermal explosion for the first orderautocatalytic decomposition reaction system using non-isothermal DSC is presented. 文摘In this paper, the influence of loading rate and specimen height on flexural strength of Al2O3 at high temperatures has been studied by three-point bending method. The experimental results show that the flexural strength of Al2O3 decreases with increasing specimen height at room temperature, and it tends to stability when height increases to a certain degree (h=5mm in this paper), while the flexural strength of Al2O3 variates unapparently at high temperature with increasing height. There is a critical loading rate R . c. When loading rate R . is less than R . c, the flexural strength of Al2O3 increases with increasing loading rate and it drops sharply when loading rate is higher than R . c. The sensitivity of flexural strength to the loading rate decreases with elevating temperatures.

文摘Internal friction (IF) spectra during reverse martensitic transformation from 35 to 135°C at different temperature rates of 0.5,0.75,and 1°C/min for Ti50Ni27Cu23 shape memory alloy (SMA) samples were measured with a dynamic mechanical analyzer, respectively. The IF spectra were characterized by IF peak increasing progressively and peak shifting toward high temperature with an increase in temperature rate.An iterative approach was used to calculate the precise intrinsic and approximate transitory IF contributions to the normal IF spectrum. The quantitatively analyzed results indicate that the transitory IF of this alloy is nonlinearly dependent on the temperature rate and obeys a power law with a power coefficient of 0.55.The predicted and experimental IF spectra at different temperature rates of 0.75 and 1°C/min agree well with each other, respectively.
文摘To reduce production costs and make full and reasonable use of raw materials, high alumina bricks were prepared using tabular corundum and mullite as aggregates, sillimanite as intermediate particles, and white fused corundum powder,α-alumina micropowder, and Suzhou soil as the matrix, firing at different temperatures(1420,1440,1460,1480,1500 and 1520℃)for 4 h.The apparent porosity(AP),the bulk density(BD),the cold crushing strength(CCS),the thermal shock resistance(TSR),the refractoriness under load(RUL)and the creep rate of the samples were tested. The effects of the firing temperature on the creep rate(1450℃×50 h,under a load of 0.2 MPa)of the samples were studied. The results show that with the sillimanite addition of 22.5 mass%,the sample fired at 1460℃for 4 h performs the best comprehensive properties:the AP of 17.5%,the BD of 2.75 g·cm^(-3),the CCS of 100.5 MPa,the TSR number of 35 cycles, the RUL of 1682℃,and the creep rate of-0.428%,which can prolong the service life of furnaces.
文摘Tensile properties of a two phase γ Ti 47Al 1.5Cr 0.5Mn 2.8Nb alloy with a duplex microstructure were tested under strain rates ranging from 5×10 -5 to 5×10 -3 s -1 at temperatures from 1 123 K to 1 273 K. It was found that there exists approximately linear relationship between the flow stresses and the logarithm of the strain rate at different temperatures. The strain rate dependence was analyzed by thermal activation theory, and dislocation climbing has been identified as the rate controlling mechanism.
