Crossing Limit Cycles of Planar Piecewise Hamiltonian Systems with Linear Centers Separated by Two Parallel Straight Lines

In this paper, we have studied several classes of planar piecewise Hamiltonian systems with three zones separated by two parallel straight lines. Firstly, we give the maximal number of limit cycles in these classes of systems with a center in two zones and without equilibrium points in the other zone (or with a center in one zone and without equilibrium points in the other zones). In addition, we also give examples to illustrate that it can reach the maximal number.

A New Method for Locating Calculation of Arbitrary Spatial Straight Line or Plane in NC Machining

In the manufacturing process, we often encounter so me location machining of space arbitrary straight lines and planes that are not on ly unparalleled but also not vertical with the machine tool spindle or the cutti ng tool. In the past, we can do the location machining through the methods of dr awing line and making level in the ordinary machine tool. In the numerical contr ol machining of the CNC machine tool and manufacturing center, however, the spac e location and angle of the arbitrary straight lines and planes must be precisel y calculated in advance. So that precisely locating can be guaranteed in machini ng. Therefore, how to work out the space location angle of the arbitrary straigh t lines and planes to be machined both conveniently and precisely, turns out to be the must-be-solved chief problem in the numerical control machining. In thi s paper, through the deeply research of this problem, a new kind of calculating formula that calculates and defines the space location angle of the arbitrary st raight lines and planes by using the methods of analytic calculating. The formul a has been applied in the practical manufacturing calculation. It is proved that the new space angle calculating methods of arbitrary straight lines and planes is convenient in calculating and precise in locating. And it provides us a n ew, brief and precise calculating method in the numerical control machining of t he numerical control machine tool and manufacturing center.

Type Synthesis of Spatial Straight Line Mechanisms with only Revolute Joints

Spatial straight line mechanisms are a class of spatial mechanisms whose end-effectors generate the trajectory with the form of exact straight lines, which have potential applications in many industrial sectors. This study aims to synthesis the spatial straight line mechanisms with only revolute joints, meaning that no prismatic joints are included. According to the generalized function sets and the law of one dimensional rotation, the type of compositions of characteristic and the corresponding conditions are derived. Furthermore, some novel symmetrical and asymmetrical spatial straight line mechanisms are synthesized through assembling specific kinematic chains under the corresponding conditions. Finally, several synthesized spatial straight line mechanisms are illustrated to show the effectiveness of the synthesis methodology.

Influence of the Fitted Straight Line for Confidence Bands Algorithm in Q-Q Plots

Confidence bands in a Normal Q-Q Plot allow us to detect non-normality of a data set rigorously, and in such a way that the conclusion does not depend on the subjectivity of the observer of the graph. In the construction of the graph, it is usual to fit a straight line to the plotted points, which serves both to check the hypothesis of normality (linear configuration of the plotted points) and to produce estimates of the parameters of the distribution. We can opt for dif-ferent types of lines. In this paper, we study the influence of five types of fitted straight lines in a Normal Q-Q Plot used for construction the confidence bands based on the exact distribution of the order statistics.

Riemann Boundary Value Problem of Non-Normal Type on the Infinite Straight Line

Various kinds of Riemann boundary value problems (BVPs) for analytic functions on closed curves or on open arc, doubly periodic Riemann BVPs, doubly quasi-periodic Riemann BVPs, and BVPs for polyanalytic functions have been widely investigated in [1-8]. The main ap- proach is to use the decomposition of polyanalytic functions and their generalization to transform the boundary value problems to their corresponding boundary value problems for analytic functions. Recently, inverse Riemann BVPs for generalized analytic functions or bianalytic functions have been investigated in [9-12]. In this paper, we consider a kind of Riemann BVP of non-normal type on the infinite straight line and discuss the solvable conditions and the general solution for it.

Straight line feature based image distortion correction

An image distortion correction method is proposed, which uses the straight line features. Many parallel lines of different direction from different images were extracted, and then were used to optimize the distortion parameters by nonlinear least square. The thought of step by step was added when the optimization method working. 3D world coordination is not need to know, and the method is easy to implement. The experiment result shows its high accuracy.

Length optimization of straight line connecting turnout on main line in high-speed railway station yard

Taking the development of high-speed railway in China as background, and referring to the dynamic theory and wheel-rail contact mode, dynamic analysis model was established, considering the setting position of straight lines and running conditions of train in high-speed railway station yard. Using the established model, and choosing vehicle lateral acceleration and wheel suspension as the evaluation indexes, dynamic characteristic of vehicle traveling in turnout and adjacent area on main line was analyzed, and effects on travelling safety and stability of train aroused by length variation of straight lines were calculated based on analyzing the damping rules of vibration. The results show that, a certain length of straight lines can alleviate the vibration aroused in turnout and curve(turnout), length of straight lines connecting turnouts in different sections on main line was proposed to meet the demand of traveling stability, and shortening or cancelation of straight line for the scale limitation of station yard has less influence on operation safety of train.

Hilbert Boundary Value Problem with an Unknown Function on Arbitrary Infinite Straight Line

We consider a Hilbert boundary value problem with an unknown parametric function on arbitrary infinite straight line passing through the origin. We propose to transform the Hilbert boundary value problem to Riemann boundary value problem, and address it by defining symmetric extension for holomorphic functions about an arbitrary straight line passing through the origin. Finally, we develop the general solution and the solvable conditions for the Hilbert boundary value problem.

On the Existence of Non-Intersecting Straight Lines on the Plane

In this brief note, we adduce the logical rationale that if at least one infinite straight line non-intersecting with the given straight line passes through a given point not lying on a given straight line, then it must be unique.

Straight and twisted Weyl nodal line phonons in Ho2CF2 material

Based on first-principles calculations, symmetry analysis and model construction, we predict that Ho2CF2hosts both straight and twisted Weyl nodal lines in its bulk phonon spectrum. We identify that the top two phonon bands entangle with each other, forming two straight Weyl nodal lines on the K–H and K′–H′paths at the Brillouin zone(BZ) boundary,and six twisted Weyl nodal lines within the BZ. All the Weyl nodal lines along the kz direction and across the entire BZ.The symmetry analysis indicates that these Weyl nodal lines are protected by the PT symmetry and crystal symmetry. The Berry phase and drumhead-like nontrivial surface states are calculated. We also construct a tight-binding model to describe these nodal lines. Our work provides an excellent material platform for exploring the fascinating physics associated with straight and twisted Weyl nodal line phonons.

Study on Forced Straight-Line Guidance for the Final Translation Phase of Spacecraft Rendezvous

Aimed at the problem of final translation of space rendezvous for the applications such as docking,inspection and tracking,optimal straight-line guidance algorithm based on pulse/continuous low-thrust in the context of Clohessy-Wiltshire dynamics is proposed.Two modes of guidance strategy:varying-speed and fixed-speed approaching scheme for V-bar and R-bar approach by using constant/finite low-thrust propulsion respectively are studied,and the corresponding fuel-optimal conditions are obtained.Numerical simulation is conducted to verify and test the proposed algorithms.The results show that there is generally no different between the fuel consumptions by using the two different approaching modes for V-bar case.However,the conclusion for Rbar case is different that the using of continuous low-thrust cost more fuel and transfer time.

Straight line detection from remote sensing images by rule-based feature fusion

Straight line detection is a fundamental problem in target recognition from remote sensing images since many man-made objects have straight boundaries.In this study,an integrated straight line detection method for remote sensing images is proposed.In this method,the edge-based straight lines are extracted using a chain code tracing method and the phasebased straight lines are extracted using a phase grouping method.The two types of lines are combined using a rule-based feature fusion method by removing redundant line extraction.Since this method integrates the specialties of edge-and phase-based straight line detection methods,it can detect straight lines from remote sensing images with high correctness and robustness.

Straight line closure for correction of congenital isolated bilateral macrostomia

Congenital bilateral macrostomia is a very rare deformity of the mouth,and it is still rarer to see cases of isolated bilateral macrostomia.Although the creation of a symmetric neocommissure is imperative,this presents a technical challenge.A review of the literature for surgical solutions revealed various techniques,but no cases in which a bilateral straight line repair was described and adopted.This report presents the case of a 3-month-old boy with isolated bilateral macrostomia for whom straight line closure was performed on both sides.At 1 year follow-up,the oral commissures are symmetric with aesthetically pleasing scars and no lateral migration.

Design of Compliant Straight-line Mechanisms Using Flexural Joints

Straight-line compliant mechanisms are important building blocks to design a linear-motion stage, which is very useful in precision applications. However, only a few configurations of straight-line compliant mechanisms are applicable. To construct more kinds of them, an approach to design large-displacement straight-line flexural mechanisms with rotational flexural joints is proposed, which is based on a viewpoint that the straight-line motion is regarded as a compromise of rigid and compliant parasitic motion of a rotational flexural joint. An analytical design method based on the Taylor series expansion is proposed to quickly obtain an approximate solution. To illustrate and verify the proposed method, two kinds of flexural joints, cross-axis hinge and leaf-type isosceles-trapezoidal flexural（LITF） pivot are used to reconstruct straight-line flexural mechanisms. Their performances are obtained by analytic and FEA method respectively. The comparisons of the results show the accuracy of the approach. Both examples show that the proposed approach can convert a large-deflection flexural joint into approximate straight-line mechanism with a high linearity that is higher than 5 000 within 5 man displacement. This can lead to a new way to design, analyze or optimize straight-line flexure mechanisms.

Complex Correspondences in Straight Line Stereo Matching

Partial occlusion and fragmented lines will result in the various cases of straight line correspondences, such as one-to-one, one-to-many or many-to-many ones. However, the complex correspondences, such as one-to-many and many-to-many ones, are usually ignored or cannot be established completely in the existing methods. Here, the essence of the complex correspondences will be analyzed. Based on the two characteristics of a straight line, which are introduced by regarding a straight line as a set of collinear points, the compatibility between the complex correspondences and the uniqueness constraint of point correspondence is proved and a new uniqueness constraint of correspondence for matching lines is proposed. Based on the analysis of the complex correspondences, a new concept of line feature group is defined to describe a set of integral correspondences among straight line features from different images and then a new algorithm for establishing all the correspondences completely is described simply. The experimental results with real stereo images illustrate that the complex correspondences among straight lines are actual cases and can be established effectively.

Study on Numerical Comparison Method of Four-bar Straight-line Guidance Mechanism

In order to solve four-bar straight-line guidance mechanism synthesis problem for the arbitrarily given straight-line’s"angle requirement"and"point-position requirement",a numerical comparison synthesis method for single and double straight-line guidance mechanism is presented,which is convenient to realize by computer program.The basic idea of this method is:to select a four-bar linkage whose relative bar length of crank is 1 as a basic four-bar linkage.Then the other three relative bars’length is changed,and a lot of basic four-bar linkage can be obtained.There are many single and double ball-points of each basic four-bar linkage.With the motion of a basic four-bar linkage,there is straight-line segment of each Ball-point’s path.The data of these basic four-bar linkages is saved to a database.When designing a four-bar straight-line guidance mechanism,the design data is compared with the data in database and a satisfactory four-bar linkage can be obtained.The method effectively solves the straight-line guidance mechanism synthesis problem.

Document Clustering with Evolutionary Systems through Straight-Line Programs “<i>slp</i>”

In this paper, we show a clustering method supported on evolutionary algorithms with the paradigm of linear genetic programming. “The Straight-Line Programs (slp)”, which uses a data structure which will be useful to represent collections of documents. This data structure can be seen as a linear representation of programs, as well as representations in the form of graphs. It has been used as a theoretical model in Computer Algebra, and our purpose is to reuse it in a completely different context. In this case, we apply it to the field of grouping library collections through evolutionary algorithms. We show its efficiency with experimental data we got from traditional library collections.
