This study covered an experimental group and a control group. The participants were Grade 10 Thai EFL (English as a Foreign Language) students in a Thai high school in Bangkok, Thailand. Experimental group performance was compared to that of a control group on the five research instruments. Regarding the effect of the CLSTS on the students' ability to use the target listening strategies to enhance their listening comprehension, it was found that the CLSTS was significantly effective. Through a study of threx~ semesters during which six sessions of learner training workshops and constant, integrated task-based instruction were carried out, empirical evidence was collected via the instrument of questionnaires, interviews, learners' regular written reports, and the findings indicate that: (1) The students reported a statistically significant increase of the overaU average frequency of language strategy use over all SILL (The Strategy Inventory for Language Learning) items with 2.95 at the beginning and 3.61 at the end; and (2) Well-organized, explicit, and discrete leaner training workshops combined with frequent, explicit, and integrated task-based strategy instruction are an effective and helpful way to improve learners' awareness, selection, and frequency of strategy use, which can further foster learner autonomy.展开更多

Studies in metacognition suggest that the ideal way to accomplish this is through metacognitive strategy training. Research also indicates that effective training programs depend on monitoring. To cultivate self-regulation or learner autonomy, it is necessary to exert external monitoring at the beginning, and gradually reduce external supervision as the students become more autonomous. The present study argues for cooperative group learning and regular evaluation as the main monitoring strategies. A semester long study indicates that cooperative group learning, besides being valuable in cultivating social relationship, and fostering cooperation and learner autonomy, can also serve as a good monitoring strategy in metacognitive strategy training. Regular evaluation, when it is progress- oriented and learner-centered, and conducted at proper times, will also provide valuable information for students to check, evaluate and adjust their learning. Students in higher vocational colleges are faced with difficult problems such as slow employment,which highlights the dislocation between education and the market.This study surveyed thousands of students and hundreds...Students in higher vocational colleges are faced with difficult problems such as slow employment,which highlights the dislocation between education and the market.This study surveyed thousands of students and hundreds of enterprises,and put forward docking strategies.The analysis shows that the mismatch between skills adaptation and literacy is the main cause of slow employment.To this end,research and design training programs,including curriculum restructuring,school-enterprise cooperation practice platforms,and employment-oriented quality improvement plans are imperative.At the same time,we will develop teaching modules for career planning to enhance competitiveness and ensure that the content is synchronized with industry standards.After the implementation,the employment rate of students increased by 15%within six months,the degree of interconnection increased by 20%,and the degree of enterprise recognition increased by 25%.The research effectively promotes the docking of higher vocational education with the market,and has far-reaching significance for easing slow employment.展开更多

This pilot study demonstrates the procedure to cultivate the effectiveness of the strategy training to the learners of low language proficiency. It begins with a questionnaire surveying the learners' use of strategy in language acquisition, and then a strategy training integrated with the class teaching and learners' learning diary are introduced. The analysis proves that strategy training to learners of low proficiency can become a crutch for their further study.The role of teachers in the process of the training is also discussed. EFL (English as a Foreign Language) speaking is a very demanding skill that requires learners' socio-pragmatic as well as strategic competence in any interactional situation, and lexis proves to play a crucial role...EFL (English as a Foreign Language) speaking is a very demanding skill that requires learners' socio-pragmatic as well as strategic competence in any interactional situation, and lexis proves to play a crucial role in this process. However, few studies have investigated how both EFL teachers and learners view and analyze situations in which learners are not producing enough spoken language in class, and the reasons behind them. The present study will pinpoint the significant role of lexis in Moroccan learners' speaking production. To this end, 40 EFL teachers and 200 Moroccan high school students are surveyed and interviewed to reveal their perceptions of the speaking skill and the corresponding high significance of lexis in this instance. Results show that both teachers and learners identify vocabulary deficiency as the main factor behind students' inability to speak English. In the present paper, among the many suggestions that could be proposed to deal with this situation, it is argued that one efficient way would be to assist the students during the process of L2 (second language) vocabulary learning through vocabulary learning strategy instruction. Pedagogical and research implication will be given in response to the difficulties encountered in this area as have been identified by the EFL teachers and learners surveyed.展开更多

The existing safety helmet detection methods are mainly based on one-stage object detection algorithms with high detection speed to reach the real-time detection requirements,but they can’t accurately detect small ob...The existing safety helmet detection methods are mainly based on one-stage object detection algorithms with high detection speed to reach the real-time detection requirements,but they can’t accurately detect small objects and objects with obstructions.Therefore,we propose a helmet detection algorithm based on the attention mechanism(AT-YOLO).First of all,a channel attention module is added to the YOLOv3 backbone network,which can adaptively calibrate the channel features of the direction to improve the feature utilization,and a spatial attention module is added to the neck of the YOLOv3 network to capture the correlation between any positions in the feature map so that to increase the receptive field of the network.Secondly,we use DIoU(Distance Intersection over Union)bounding box regression loss function,it not only improving the measurement of bounding box regression loss but also increases the normalized distance loss between the prediction boxes and the target boxes,which makes the network more accurate in detecting small objects and faster in convergence.Finally,we explore the training strategy of the network model,which improves network performance without increasing the inference cost.Experiments show that the mAP of the proposed method reaches 96.5%,and the detection speed can reach 27 fps.Compared with other existing methods,it has better performance in detection accuracy and speed.展开更多
Based on the CNN-LSTM fusion deep neural network,this paper proposes a seismic velocity model building method that can simultaneously estimate the root mean square(RMS)velocity and interval velocity from the common-mi...Based on the CNN-LSTM fusion deep neural network,this paper proposes a seismic velocity model building method that can simultaneously estimate the root mean square(RMS)velocity and interval velocity from the common-midpoint(CMP)gather.In the proposed method,a convolutional neural network(CNN)Encoder and two long short-term memory networks(LSTMs)are used to extract spatial and temporal features from seismic signals,respectively,and a CNN Decoder is used to recover RMS velocity and interval velocity of underground media from various feature vectors.To address the problems of unstable gradients and easily fall into a local minimum in the deep neural network training process,we propose to use Kaiming normal initialization with zero negative slopes of rectifi ed units and to adjust the network learning process by optimizing the mean square error(MSE)loss function with the introduction of a freezing factor.The experiments on testing dataset show that CNN-LSTM fusion deep neural network can predict RMS velocity as well as interval velocity more accurately,and its inversion accuracy is superior to that of single neural network models.The predictions on the complex structures and Marmousi model are consistent with the true velocity variation trends,and the predictions on fi eld data can eff ectively correct the phase axis,improve the lateral continuity of phase axis and quality of stack section,indicating the eff ectiveness and decent generalization capability of the proposed method.展开更多

文摘The existing safety helmet detection methods are mainly based on one-stage object detection algorithms with high detection speed to reach the real-time detection requirements,but they can’t accurately detect small objects and objects with obstructions.Therefore,we propose a helmet detection algorithm based on the attention mechanism(AT-YOLO).First of all,a channel attention module is added to the YOLOv3 backbone network,which can adaptively calibrate the channel features of the direction to improve the feature utilization,and a spatial attention module is added to the neck of the YOLOv3 network to capture the correlation between any positions in the feature map so that to increase the receptive field of the network.Secondly,we use DIoU(Distance Intersection over Union)bounding box regression loss function,it not only improving the measurement of bounding box regression loss but also increases the normalized distance loss between the prediction boxes and the target boxes,which makes the network more accurate in detecting small objects and faster in convergence.Finally,we explore the training strategy of the network model,which improves network performance without increasing the inference cost.Experiments show that the mAP of the proposed method reaches 96.5%,and the detection speed can reach 27 fps.Compared with other existing methods,it has better performance in detection accuracy and speed.

文摘Based on the CNN-LSTM fusion deep neural network,this paper proposes a seismic velocity model building method that can simultaneously estimate the root mean square(RMS)velocity and interval velocity from the common-midpoint(CMP)gather.In the proposed method,a convolutional neural network(CNN)Encoder and two long short-term memory networks(LSTMs)are used to extract spatial and temporal features from seismic signals,respectively,and a CNN Decoder is used to recover RMS velocity and interval velocity of underground media from various feature vectors.To address the problems of unstable gradients and easily fall into a local minimum in the deep neural network training process,we propose to use Kaiming normal initialization with zero negative slopes of rectifi ed units and to adjust the network learning process by optimizing the mean square error(MSE)loss function with the introduction of a freezing factor.The experiments on testing dataset show that CNN-LSTM fusion deep neural network can predict RMS velocity as well as interval velocity more accurately,and its inversion accuracy is superior to that of single neural network models.The predictions on the complex structures and Marmousi model are consistent with the true velocity variation trends,and the predictions on fi eld data can eff ectively correct the phase axis,improve the lateral continuity of phase axis and quality of stack section,indicating the eff ectiveness and decent generalization capability of the proposed method.
