In order to acquire overall managemen t, fast response and steady operation, an SCTP (Stream Control Transmission Prot ocol) based OAM, i.e., SOAM system was proposed. SOAM implements new characters of SCTP such as multi-stream, enforced SACK and heartbeat mechanism on its tran sport layer. These characters help SOAM decrease the message transmission delay and accelerate the link failure detection. Besides, a new component named SOAM agent was introduced to improve the operation efficiency of SOAM. The experim ental results prove the proposed SOAM system achieves better performance on sign aling transmission compared with conventional TCP based OAM system.展开更多

This paper proposed a novel method to transmit voice data based on transmission control protocol(TCP). The method adopts a disorder TCP transmission strategy, which allows discontinuous data packets in TCP queues read by application layer directly without waiting for the retransmission of lost data packets. A byte stream data boundary identification algorithm based on consistent overhead byte stuffing algorithm is designed to efficiently identify complete voice data packets from disordered TCP packets arrived so as to transmit the data to the audio processing module timely. Then, by implementing the prototype system and testing, we verified that the proposed algorithm can solve the high time delay, jitter and discontinuity problems in standard TCP protocol when transmitting voice data packets, which caused by its error control and retransmission mechanism. We proved that the method proposed in this paper is effective and practical.展开更多

The low coding efficiency of multiple description video coding is always the major challenge in this field. In order to improve the performance of multiple description video coding, this paper proposes a scheme based on residuum compensation. In this scheme, each original video frame is encoded with a traditional encoder first to get the first description. Then the error residuum of each coded frame is added up to the corresponding original frame and the resulting compensated frame is encoded by another traditional encoder to generate the second description suc- cessively. This work uses JM10.0 of H.264/AVC as video coding codec to conduct the experiments. The experimental results show that the proposed scheme has good coding performance. Compared to state of art traditional single description encoder, the efficiency can be as high as 90%, he. the redundancy is only 10% to 20%.展开更多
