The streamwise velocity signals in the turbulent boundary layer were measured by HWA. The drag reduction rate of 16.7% is obtained comparable to that of the open-loop control and saves 75% of the input energy at the asynchronous 100 V/160 Hz control case, which reflects the advantages of the closed-loop control. The experimental findings indicate that the intensity increases in the near-wall region. The perturbation of the PZT vibrators on the skewness factor is concentrated in the region y+< 60. The generation of highspeed fluids is depressed and the downward effect of high-speed fluids weakens. The alteration of energy distribution and the discernible impact of modulation between structures of varying scales are observed. The correlation coefficient exhibits a strong positive correlation, which indicates that the large-scale structures produce modulation effect on small-scale ones. The occurrence of burst events is effectively suppressed. The disturbance has the characteristics of stable periodicity, positive and negative symmetry, low intermittency, and high pulsation strength. The conditional phase waveform shows that the fluctuation amplitude increases, indicating amplitude modulation effects on coherent structures.展开更多

Some of these techniques using topography are used in several fields (civil engineering, geodesy, topography, mechanics, nuclear engineering, hydraulics, physics, etc.). These topometric techniques have undergone major changes as a result of technological advances, growing needs in the monitoring of movements or deformations, increased requirements and new challenges. The methodology adopted depends on the measuring instrument used, the parameters to be estimated and access to the area to be measured. There are two types of methods: destructive and non-destructive. In addition to the visual method, they can also be classified as mechanical, physico-chemical, dynamometric, electrophysical and geometric. The estimated parameter varies according to the methodology adopted. It can be defined by coordinates, distances, potential, electrical resistance, etc.展开更多

After the introduction of the basic theory, the function model, classifications and mathematical methods of MSIF, a structural damage detection method based on MSIF is presented, which is to fuse two or more damage character vectors from different structural damage diagnosis methods on the character-level. In an experiment of concrete plates, modal information is measured and analyzed. The structural damage detection method based on MSIF is taken to localize cracks of concrete plates and it is proved to be effective. Results of damage detection by the method based on MSIF are compared with those from the modal strain energy method and the flexibility method. Damage, which can hardly be detected by using the single damage identification method, can be diagnosed by the damage detection method based on the character-level MSIF technique. Meanwhile multi-location damage can be identified by the method based on MSIF. This method is sensitive to structural damage and different mathematical methods for MSIF have different preconditions and applicabilities for diversified structures. How to choose mathematical methods for MSIF should be discussed in detail in health monitoring systems of actual structures.展开更多

However, difficulty arises when the algorithm is used for non-homogeneous dynamic systems, due to the inverse matrix calculation and the simulation accuracy of the applied loading. By combining the Gaussian quadrature method and state space theory with the calculation technique of matrix exponential function in the precise time step integration method, a new modified precise time step integration method (e.g., an algorithm with an arbitrary order of accuracy) is proposed. In the new method, no inverse matrix calculation or simulation of the applied loading is needed, and the computing efficiency is improved. In particular, the proposed method is independent of the quality of the matrix H. If the matrix H is singular or nearly singular, the advantage of the method is remarkable. The numerical stability of the proposed algorithm is discussed and a numerical example is given to demonstrate the validity and efficiency of the algorithm.展开更多

Therefore, the structural reliability method must be applied in ocean engineering design such as offshore platform design. If the performance function is known in structural reliability analysis, the first-order second-moment method is often used. If the performance function could not be definitely expressed, the response surface method is always used because it has a very clear train of thought and simple programming. However, the traditional response surface method fits the response surface of quadratic polynomials where the problem of accuracy could not be solved, because the true limit state surface can be fitted well only in the area near the checking point. In this paper, an intelligent computing method based on the whole response surface is proposed, which can be used for the situation where the performance function could not be definitely expressed in structural reliability analysis. In this method, a response surface of the fuzzy neural network for the whole area should be constructed first, and then the structural reliability can be calculated by the genetic algorithm. In the proposed method, all the sample points for the training network come from the whole area, so the true limit state surface in the whole area can be fitted. Through calculational examples and comparative analysis, it can be known that the proposed method is much better than the traditional response surface method of quadratic polynomials, because, the amount of calculation of finite element analysis is largely reduced, the accuracy of calculation is improved, and the true limit state surface can be fitted very well in the whole area. So, the method proposed in this paper is suitable for engineering application.展开更多

文摘The Steel Catenary Riser(SCR)is a vital component for transporting oil and gas from the seabed to the floating platform. The harsh environmental conditions and complex platform motion make the SCR’s girth-weld prone to fatigue failure. The structural stress fatigue theory and Master S-N curve method provide accurate predictions for the fatigue damage on the welded joints, which demonstrate significant potential and compatibility in multi-axial and random fatigue evaluation. Here,we propose a new frequency fatigue model subjected to welded joints of SCR under multiaxial stress, which fully integrates the mesh-insensitive structural stress and frequency domain random process and transforms the conventional welding fatigue technique of SCR into a spectrum analysis technique utilizing structural stress.Besides,a full-scale FE model of SCR with welds is established to obtain the modal structural stress of the girth weld and the frequency response function(FRF)of modal coordinate, and a biaxial fatigue evaluation about the girth weld of the SCR can be achieved by taking the effects of multi-load correlation and pipe-soil interaction into account. The research results indicate that the frequency-domain fatigue results are aligned with the time-domain results, meeting the fatigue evaluation requirements of the SCR.

文摘The experimental research on zero-net-mass-flux jet closed-loop active control was conducted in the wind tunnel. The mu-level method successfully detected burst events of the coherent structures. The conditional phase waveform shows that the fluctuation amplitude increases, indicating amplitude modulation effects on coherent structures.

文摘Structural planes play an important role in controlling the stability of rock engineering, and the influence of structural planes should be considered in the design and construction process of rock engineering. In this paper, mechanical properties, constitutive theory, and numerical application of structural plane are studied by a combination method of laboratory tests, theoretical derivation, and program development. The test results reveal the change laws of various mechanical parameters under different roughness and normal stress. At the pre-peak stage,a non-stationary model of shear stiffness is established, and threedimensional empirical prediction models for initial shear stiffness and residual stage roughness are proposed. The nonlinear constitutive models are established based on elasto-plastic mechanics, and the algorithms of the models are developed based on the return mapping algorithm.According to a large number of statistical analysis results, empirical prediction models are proposed for model parameters expressed by structural plane characteristic parameters. Finally, the discrete element method(DEM)is chosen to embed the constitutive models for practical application. The running programs of the constitutive models have been compiled into the discrete element model library. The comparison results between the proposed model and the Mohr-Coulomb slip model show that the proposed model can better describe nonlinear changes at different stages, and the predicted shear strength, peak strain and shear stiffness are closer to the test results. The research results of the paper are conducive to the accurate evaluation of structural plane in rock engineering.

文摘With the continuous advancement in topology optimization and additive manufacturing(AM)technology, the capability to fabricate functionally graded materials and intricate cellular structures with spatially varying microstructures has grown significantly. However,a critical challenge is encountered in the design of these structures–the absence of robust interface connections between adjacent microstructures, potentially resulting in diminished efficiency or macroscopic failure.A Hybrid Level Set Method(HLSM)is proposed, specifically designed to enhance connectivity among non-uniform microstructures, contributing to the design of functionally graded cellular structures. The HLSM introduces a pioneering algorithm for effectively blending heterogeneous microstructure interfaces.Initially,an interpolation algorithm is presented to construct transition microstructures seamlessly connected on both sides.Subsequently, the algorithm enables the morphing of non-uniform unit cells to seamlessly adapt to interconnected adjacent microstructures. The method, seamlessly integrated into a multi-scale topology optimization framework using the level set method, exhibits its efficacy through numerical examples, showcasing its prowess in optimizing 2D and 3D functionally graded materials(FGM)and multi-scale topology optimization. In essence, the pressing issue of interface connections in complex structure design is not only addressed but also a robust methodology is introduced, substantiated by numerical evidence, advancing optimization capabilities in the realm of functionally graded materials and cellular structures.
文摘Topometric auscultation is used to monitor the durability of structures, measure deformations linked to the structure of a structure or to the movement of the ground over a part of the globe, set up warning systems, etc. It first appeared as a visual method and rapidly evolved through the various techniques used. It can be defined by coordinates, distances, potential, electrical resistance, etc.

文摘Conical origami structures are characterized by their substantial out-of-plane stiffness and energy-absorptioncapacity.Previous investigations have commonly focused on the static characteristics of these lightweight struc-tures.However,the efficient analysis of the natural vibrations of these structures is pivotal for designing conicalorigami structures with programmable stiffness and mass.In this paper,we propose a novel method to analyzethe natural vibrations of such structures by combining a symmetric substructuring method(SSM)and a gener-alized eigenvalue analysis.SSM exploits the inherent symmetry of the structure to decompose it into a finiteset of repetitive substructures. In doing so,we reduce the dimensions of matrices and improve computationalefficiency by adopting the stiffness and mass matrices of the substructures in the generalized eigenvalue analysis.Finite element simulations of pin-jointed models are used to validate the computational results of the proposedapproach. Moreover, the parametric analysis of the structures demonstrates the influences of the number of seg-ments along the circumference and the radius of the cone on the structural mass and natural frequencies of thestructures.Furthermore,we present a comparison between six-fold and four-fold conical origami structures anddiscuss the influence of various geometric parameters on their natural frequencies. This study provides a strategyfor efficiently analyzing the natural vibration of symmetric origami structures and has the potential to contributeto the efficient design and customization of origami metastructures with programmable stiffness.
文摘We propose a novel computational framework that is capable of employing different time integration algorithms and different space discretized methods such as the Finite Element Method, particle methods, and other spatial methods on a single body sub-dividedintomultiple subdomains. This is in conjunctionwithimplementing thewell known Generalized Single Step Single Solve(GS4)family of algorithms which encompass the entire scope of Linear Multistep algorithms that have been developed over the past 50 years or so and are second order accurate into the Differential Algebraic Equation framework. In the current state of technology, the coupling of altogether different time integration algorithms has been limited to the same family of algorithms such as theNewmarkmethods and the coupling of different algorithms usually has resulted in reduced accuracy in one or more variables including the Lagrange multiplier. However, the robustness and versatility of the GS4 with its ability to accurately account for the numerical shifts in various time schemes it encompasses, overcomes such barriers and allows a wide variety of arbitrary implicit-implicit,implicit-explicit,and explicit-explicit pairing of the various time schemes while maintaining the second order accuracy in time for not only all primary variables such as displacement, velocity and acceleration but also the Lagrange multipliers used for coupling the subdomains.By selecting an appropriate spatialmethod and time scheme on the area with localized phenomena contrary to utilizing a single process on the entire body, the proposed work has the potential to better capture the physics of a given simulation. The method is validated by solving 2D problems for the linear second order systems with various combination of spatial methods and time schemes with great flexibility. The accuracy and efficacy of the present work have not yet been seen in the current field, and it has shown significant promise in its capabilities and effectiveness for general linear dynamics through numerical examples.

文摘Multi-source information fusion (MSIF) is imported into structural damage diagnosis methods to improve the validity of damage detection. How to choose mathematical methods for MSIF should be discussed in detail in health monitoring systems of actual structures.

文摘The precise time step integration method proposed for linear time-invariant homogeneous dynamic systems can provide precise numerical results that approach an exact solution at the integration points. The numerical stability of the proposed algorithm is discussed and a numerical example is given to demonstrate the validity and efficiency of the algorithm.
文摘As water depth increases, the structural safety and reliability of a system become more and more important and challenging. So, the method proposed in this paper is suitable for engineering application.

文摘A set of evaluation indicators based on corrosion ratio in theory for assessing the extent of pitting corrosion and performance reduction are proposed. In order to quantify the morphology of pitting corrosion and extract the evaluation indicators, the 3D profile data obtained by pitting morphology measurement are imported into a special written program to automatically determine the location of each corrosion pit and distill any desired data pertinent to the pitting morphology. The results show that this method seems to be effective to analyze the corroded surface and characterize the pitting morphology.

文摘For the 110 mining method,it is challenging to accurately calculate the support resistance of the roadway due to the lack of understanding of the dynamic movement of the overlying strata in this method. The consequential excessive support results in a significant increase in the cost of roadway support. The authors explored the overlying strata movement and roadway deformation of the gob-entry retaining in the 110 mining method to solve this problem.First, the typical stages of the roof-cutting gob-side entry were defined.Second, the mechanical model and calculation formula of the support resistance on the roof were explored. Then, using numerical simulation software, the starting ranges of the specific supports at different stages were verified and the feasibility of the support scheme was examined. Finally, combined with the field measurement data, the stress and the deformation of the gob roadway at different stages under the influence of two mining processes in the 110 mining method were obtained. The numerical simulation results obtained are consistent with the field test results, providing a theoretical basis for precision support at different stages by the 110 mining method.

文摘For at least the past five decades, structural synthesis has been used as a main means of finding better mechanisms with some predefined function. In structural synthesis, isomorphism identification is still a problem unsolved well, and to solve this problem is very significant to the design of new mechanisms.According to the given degree of freedom(DOF) and link connection property of planar closed chain mechanisms, vertex assortment is obtained. For solving the isomorphism problem,a method of the adding sub-chains is proposed with the detailed steps and algorithms in the synthesizing process.Employing this method, the identification code and formation code of every topological structure are achieved, therefore many isomorphic structures could be eliminated in time during structural synthesis by comparing those codes among different topological graphs, resulting in the improvement of synthesizing efficiency and accuracy, and the approach for eliminating rigid sub-chains in and after the synthesizing process is also presented. Some examples are given, including how to add sub-chains,how to detect simple rigid sub-chains and how to obtain identification codes and formulation codes et al.Using the adding sub-chain method, the relative information of some common topological graphs is given in the form of table. The comparison result is coincident with many literatures,so the correctness of the adding sub-chain method is convinced. This method will greatly improve the synthesizing efficiency and accuracy, and has a good potential for application.
