This article studies the situations of international students' ultimate attainment in Chinese structural auxiliary word "De" (的) acquisition through questionnaires. And we found whether international students can use all types attributive "De" (的) correctly is mainly affected by the following two factors: (1) Influenced by frequency of attribute type appears and (2) affected by its own clarity of grammatical rules. We also noticed that the international students who are able to discriminate the "De" (的) and "Di" (地) in the predicates position better than the "De" (的) and "Di" (地) in the objects position. 展开更多

Nonlinear solution of reinforced concrete structures, particularly complete load-deflection response, requires tracing of the equilibrium path and proper treatment of the limit and bifurcation points. In this regard, ordinary solution techniques lead to instability near the limit points and also have problems in case of snap-through and snap-back. Thus they fail to predict the complete load-displacement response. The arc-length method serves the purpose well in principle, received wide acceptance in finite element analysis, and has been used extensively. However modifications to the basic idea are vital to meet the particular needs of the analysis. This paper reviews some of the recent developments of the method in the last two decades, with particular emphasis on nonlinear finite element analysis of reinforced concrete structures. 展开更多

In this paper, we first combine tetra-peptide structural words with contact number for protein secondary structure prediction. We used the method of increment of diversity combined with quadratic discriminant analysis to predict the structure of central residue for a sequence fragment. The method is used tetra-peptide structural words and long- range contact number as information resources. The accuracy of Q3 is over 83% in 194 proteins. The accuracies of predicted secondary structures for 20 amino acid residues are ranged from 81% to 88%. Moreover, we have introduced the residue long-range contact, which directly indicates the separation of contacting residue in terms of the position in the sequence, and examined the negative influence of long-range residue interactions on predicting secondary structure in a protein. The method is also compared with existing prediction methods. The results show that our method is more effective in protein secondary structures prediction. 展开更多
