Exploration of The Construction Path of Sports Injury and First Aid Course Systems for College Students

By the requirements of the Ministry of Education on life safety education, colleges, and universities have set up a course on Sports Injury and First Aid to organize relevant knowledge and increase the student’s awareness of first aid knowledge so that they can use reasonable methods to address sport-related injuries. At the same time, they can cope with first-aid situations and assist rescuers in completing resuscitation activities. This paper is based on the study of three colleges in Chongqing. This paper selected students from 3 universities in Chongqing and evaluated the mastery of first aid knowledge of college students, pointing out the value of implementing the “Sports Injury and First Aid” course in colleges and universities. This can provide opportunities to improve the theoretical content of the discipline, actively carry out practical activities, reasonably set the assessment method, and provide basic protection to ensure that the “Sports Injury and First Aid” course can be carried out normally to improve the mastery level of students’ first aid knowledge.

A Comparison of Libyan and Australian Students＇ Perceptions of Empowerment in Accounting Courses

The concept of empowerment was introduced into the accounting education research by Zraa, Imran, Kavanagh, and Morgan （2011）. The authors＇ purpose is to compare Libyan and Australian students＇ perceptions of empowerment in accounting courses and to investigate their relationships with classroom instruction. This study involves a survey of 409 students, who are studying the first-year business degree at institutions in Libya and Australia. Observations and interviews are also conducted. Data are analyzed using reliability tests, factor analysis, t-tests, and correlations. The results indicate that Australian students are more empowered than Libyan students. In addition, the result reveals that classroom instruction methods influence students＇ empowerment.

Research Methodology and Analysis of Innovative Pedagogical Models in Mechanical Engineering Courses for International Students at the School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation, Beihang University

Taking the engineering courses“Introduction to Mechanical Engineering”and“Machining Process”taught by the author at Beihang University’s International School as examples,this article systematically analyzed the current status and background of international student education,focused on research strategies for interdisciplinary education and industry-education integration innovation models from the perspectives of technical demands,student needs,and societal requirements.This article aims to cultivate highly qualified international students who come to China for their studies,help them better adapt to China’s social employment environment,and enhance their capabilities for career development in China.This article proposes a comprehensive set of innovative teaching models for mechanical engineering courses for international students at Beihang University,which encompasses eight key aspects,including talent development programs,curriculum outline reforms,optimization of classroom teaching content,respect for individual student characteristics,the establishment of practical teaching components,the use of open-ended assignments to stimulate enthusiasm for learning,the cultivation of international students’interest in China,their belief in developing friendships with China,and their goals of staying in China,and the incorporation of external experts to facilitate industry-education integration.

A Study on the Application of PBL on SPOC—Taking College English Courses for Hearing-Impaired Students for Example

Project-Based-Learning(PBL)is“teacher-led,student-centered and project-supported”.By completing projects students can learn knowledge,acquire skills,and cultivate abilities.PBL is not only applicable to specialized courses for hearing-impaired students,but also to college English courses for hearing-impaired students.SPOC can“flip”the traditional classes and increase the capacity of college English courses.Taking college English courses for hearing-impaired students as an example,this paper studies the application of PBL on SPOC(Small Private Online Course).It is proved that this model can not only greatly reduce teachers’pressure of limited class time,improve the teaching efficiency,but also can stimulate students’interest to learn and undoubtedly achieve better learning effects.

Research on the Influencing Factors of College Students’Learning Experience in Livestreaming Courses

The learning experience of online courses has always been a hot topic.As livestreaming courses are online courses with real-time interaction between instructors and students,its learning experience directly affects the learning behavior and effect.The evaluation indicators related to online course learning experience were combined with the attitudes of scholars,enterprise practitioners,and learners in livestreaming courses.When the questionnaire was designed,the exploratory and confirmatory factors were analyzed,the Questionnaire on Learning Experience of College Students in Livestreaming Courses was developed to evaluate the learning experience of college students attending livestreaming courses.Last but not the least,based on the survey data,important factors affecting college students’learning experience in livestreaming courses,including course content,learning environment,course interaction,and learning incentives were discussed and analyzed;strategies to optimize the learning experience in livestreaming courses were proposed.

Evaluation of Students'Performance in Specialized Courses in Yanbian Agriculture College by Variance

The performance of college students'professional courses is an index to evaluate their academic status,so the performance of professional courses has a certain significance.In the process of assigning homework to teachers and taking exams in universities,the performance of specialized courses is regarded as the standard for students to study well.Because students'understanding and follow-up are often assessed on the basis of their usual seriousness and attendance in class,homework and exams,it is necessary to analyze their final grades to assess their actual situation.Test scores were evaluated using variances and covariances.This paper discusses how to evaluate the final achievement from the distribution of achievement.

Student Evaluations as Effective Indicators of Learning Outcomes:Evidence from Japanese University Students in English Language Courses

The term"student learning outcomes"refers to the knowledge, skills, and abilitiesthat students achieve during a course, and is typically assessed based on student evaluations conducted at the end of the semester. Previous studies in this area have investigated the effects of instructional quality and academic demands separately and have been limited primarily to examining findings using student samples fromthe United States. With Japanese college students' perceptions of self-improvementin English language courses as the dependent variable, the present study directly tests the hypothesis that students who perceive instructional quality to be higher, andcourse demands to be greater, also estimate higher levels of self-improvement in English language skills. The analysis provides strong support for this hypothesis.Higher ratings of instruction and academic demands have already beenshown to increase levels of student learning(Greimel-Fuhrmann and Geyer 2003;Nois and Hudson 2006; Mc Fadden and Dart 1992). The present study is the first toprovide direct evidence of the relative importance of student evaluations ofinstructional quality and academic demands as predictors of student learning and thefirst ever to do so with a sample of Japanese college students enrolled in a required English as a foreign language course. Our hypothesis is that Japanese students whoperceive instructional quality to be higher, and course demands to be greater,estimate higher levels of self-improvement in English language skills. Thus we test Japanese students' attitudes toward instructional quality and course demands asindependent variables predicting their perceptions of self-improvement in English language courses. The research focuses on Japanese students' improvement in English language skills because English education in Japan is an arena in which thedebate over limited English proficiency rages on, and because other research suggests reconsideration of English education in light of the demands of the rapidly expanding global era(Amaki 2008).

Exploring the Path of Cultivating College Students’ Personal Morality in Ideological and Political Theory Courses

Based on the demand of social development for people with both ability and political integrity,it has been acknowledged that some college students have a problem,where their personal morality does not match their professional knowledge.In short,these students have rich and profound professional knowledge,but their personal morality is lacking.Therefore,the attention to such a problem is called for.This paper analyzes the path of cultivating college students’personal morality in ideological and political theory courses in the new era,combs and expounds the occurrence mechanism between college students’personal morality and ideological and political theory courses in the new era,improves the effectiveness of moral cultivation in ideological and political theory courses from four dimensions-teaching materials,teachers,teaching methods,and evaluation,as well as gives full play to the moral cultivation function of ideological and political theory courses in colleges and universities.

Strategies for Cultivating Public Funded Targeted Normal Students Based on Goal Management Theory : A Case Study of East, West and North Guangdong

Public funded targeted normal students are an important component of China's teacher team construction.Since its implementation in 2007,a large number of outstanding rural teachers who have been striving on the front line of education have been trained.Based on the theory of goal management,this paper explores the problems and countermeasures in the training of public funded targeted normal students.It strives to solve the problems of low willingness to teach and high default rates among public funded normal students,and hopes that the suggestions proposed in this paper can further promote the effective implementation of policies for public funded normal students.

A Software Engineering Project Course for Undergraduate Students

Software engineering(SE) courses are confronted with predicaments how to cultivate students' engineering concept and how to abridge the distance between the academy and industry.The "Computing and Software Engineering,III(CSE III)" helps students mimic a real-world software development and broaden realworld SE view.With the spiral model as the main development model,the CSE III course includes not only the SE theory knowledge,but also quick learning,team cooperation,development management and risk management skills which meet the real-world industry requirements.Our contribution is providing an introductory course for multiple dimensions of knowledge,creating a real-world software development circumstance for students under quantitative control and designing a systematic and practical evaluation mechanism which stimulates the interests of students.CSE III has been executed from 2009 and obtains a valuable teaching and learning effects among our teachers,TAs and students;and we add refinements to the course according to feedbacks of participants.This paper will describe the design and practice of the CSE III course.

Male and Female Attitude Toward Research Course Syllabus and the Relationship Between Work Setting Preference and Usefulness Rating of a Research Course Among Chinese Graduate Students

The purpose of this study is to(a)examine graduate students to see whether the syllabus of a research course is more important to male or female students and(b)determine whether graduate students who prefer educational work settings rate the usefulness of a research course higher than those who prefer non-educational work settings.Data were collected from a survey that was distributed to the subjects.These subjects included 57 graduate students enrolled in four classes of the same research course and all of them responded.The findings indicated that female graduate students considered the syllabus of this research course more important than the male graduate students did(p<0.5).The study also found that there was not a significant difference(p>0.05)between graduate students who prefer to work in the educational settings and those who prefer non-educational work settings rating the usefulness of a research course.

Evolutionary Algorithm Based Feature Subset Selection for Students Academic Performance Analysis

Educational Data Mining(EDM)is an emergent discipline that concen-trates on the design of self-learning and adaptive approaches.Higher education institutions have started to utilize analytical tools to improve students’grades and retention.Prediction of students’performance is a difficult process owing to the massive quantity of educational data.Therefore,Artificial Intelligence(AI)techniques can be used for educational data mining in a big data environ-ment.At the same time,in EDM,the feature selection process becomes necessary in creation of feature subsets.Since the feature selection performance affects the predictive performance of any model,it is important to elaborately investigate the outcome of students’performance model related to the feature selection techni-ques.With this motivation,this paper presents a new Metaheuristic Optimiza-tion-based Feature Subset Selection with an Optimal Deep Learning model(MOFSS-ODL)for predicting students’performance.In addition,the proposed model uses an isolation forest-based outlier detection approach to eliminate the existence of outliers.Besides,the Chaotic Monarch Butterfly Optimization Algo-rithm(CBOA)is used for the selection of highly related features with low com-plexity and high performance.Then,a sailfish optimizer with stacked sparse autoencoder(SFO-SSAE)approach is utilized for the classification of educational data.The MOFSS-ODL model is tested against a benchmark student’s perfor-mance data set from the UCI repository.A wide-ranging simulation analysis por-trayed the improved predictive performance of the MOFSS-ODL technique over recent approaches in terms of different measures.Compared to other methods,experimental results prove that the proposed(MOFSS-ODL)classification model does a great job of predicting students’academic progress,with an accuracy of 96.49%.

An Empirical Research on the Behavior and Influencing Factors of College Students Network Course Learning

＂Using technology to support learning＂ gradually becomes the main trend of technology application and technology-curriculum integration at home and abroad. The empirical research based on newly-established universities shows that college students＇ usage intention on network course and study behavior is not real. Study behavior of network course is passive and outside stimulation. They are more concerned about the usefulness and relative advantages of the learning mode in the network course learning; however, learning environment of the network course at present still is given on material and tool level. The institutions should, in compliance with the trend of higher education development in the world, actively build learning environment to meet the learning needs of students in the information age, deepen the reform of information technology application and curriculum based on the learner-centered concept, focus on the training of initiative learning of college students, put community impact into full play to promote the integration of the superiority of the material platform and initiative, and finally improve the efficiency and quality of teaching and education.

Introductory course in accounting-Factors affecting the choice of students＇ consideration

This study attempts to investigate if and how students＇ perceptions regarding the first accounting course related with the selection of accounting as a major. Moreover, it examines students＇ initial perceptions and course performance regarding the introductory accounting course. Participants in this study were 120 students from Technological Educational Institute of Kavala, School of Business and Economics （3 departments）, who were asked to complete a survey instrument. The instrument used eleven statements regarding students＇ perceptions （such as difficulty and motivation of the course） of the first accounting course. The main factors affect students＇ decisions to follow accounting and seem to be similar with other researchers＇ findings （Geiger ＆ Ogilby, 2000）. Future research could be used larger sample from different countries and the survey could also be used for a longer time period.

Theoretical Application to Understand Food Insecurity Among College Students: A Multi-Systems Life Course Perspective

Empirical studies have shown a distinct relationship between academic performance and food insecurity in college students. Specifically, food-insecure students are more likely to report a lower grade point average than their food secure counterparts. Since the Great Recession, more attention has been given to the topic of hunger and food insecurity among college students;however, the literature still lacks a comprehensive examination of various issues facing today’s college students. Using a multi-systems life course (MSLC) perspective, this paper provides a conceptual explanation of the lived experience of college students by offering a better understanding of the unique challenges faced by this population. Findings from this study will assist researchers, practitioners, and university administrators in their efforts to address hunger among this population.

Factors Affecting Selection of Elective Courses:The Use of Multi-Criteria Decision Making Model

Elective course selection has always been a serious and important decision making process for students in institutions. The aim of this study is to determine weights of factors affecting elective course selection from students' perspective. So as to solve the problem, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) based model was used. Factors which affect the elective course selection from students' point of view include five main criteria and 13 sub-criteria which were indicated by students. An online questionnaire containing demographic questions, enabled each student to compare the relative priority of criteria with all of the other criteria. The responses were evaluated via Super Decisions software, and priorities were determined using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). According to the analysis of 40 experts (i.e., graduate students studying in engineering programs), course schedule and teaching staff related factors are the two most important factors affecting the elective course selection. A real- life situation which will help students who are indecisive and hesitates while selecting an elective course was observed. AHP contributes to develop an analytic and comprehensive framework decision making. The method should be considered by faculty member involved in decisions about curriculum update and offering new courses.

On the Selective Online Course of Campus English

Online learning is becoming more and more popular among college students.College courses are going online recently but seldom have a systematic structure.In an attempt to testify the effect of online learning of the English language,a research is carried out by running a selective course of Campus English online.The whole process of the course is running online.A Wechat group is set up for the purpose of supervision.Each unit has an assignment to follow.Through finishing these assignments,the skills of listening,speaking,reading and writing are all practiced.To test the students’learning outcome,the instructor only needs to check their assignments.Feedback is offered to the students as soon as the teacher has corrected the assignments.After the twenty-class-hour learning,a survey is carried out to find out the student’s further needs and satisfaction level.The result of the survey shows that the students are quite satisfied with this form of online learning.Some advice is also offered by them to contribute to the further improvement of this online course.This research has shed some light on further improvement of online course.
