This paper presents a Descriptive Translation Study(DTS)analysis of the Chinese translation of the French musical adaptation of Romeo and Juliet,titled Roméo et Juliette:de la Haineàl’Amour.Romeo and Juliet,a timeless play by Shakespeare,has captivated audiences since its premiere in 1597 and has been adapted into various forms,including stage productions,films,musicals,and operas.The focus of this study is to analyze the Chinese translation of the French musical adaptation from a DTS perspective.DTS is an approach that aims to understand the translation process and its reception in the target culture.By examining language choices,cultural references,and adaptation strategies,this study seeks to shed light on how the Chinese translation of the French musical functions within the target culture and influences the reception and interpretation of the source text.This analysis is expected to gain insights into the challenges and strategies employed in translating a musical adaptation of Romeo and Juliet into Chinese.The findings of this study will contribute to the field of translation studies and provide a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in the translation of musical works.

A Study on Extracurricular Literary Classics Reading in High School English Based on Core Literacy

Reading teaching is the core content of high school English teaching,and extracurricular literary classics reading is a supplement to in-class reading,which can deepen students’understanding and memorization of English-related knowledge,and cultivate students’core literacy.This paper outlines the problems in high school English reading teaching,analyzes the significance of extracurricular literary classics reading in high school English,and explores the teaching strategies of extracurricular literary classics reading in high school English based on core literacy,with a view to providing valuable reference information for teachers.

Experimental Study of Primary School Students’Independent Reading Based on the Network Teaching Platform

The development of information technology, especially the rise of online teaching platforms, has changed the way people read and the methods they use. Under this influence, primary school students’ independent reading has also been changed. However, due to limited self-control and understanding, primary school students face certain difficulties when using online teaching platforms for independent reading. Advantages and disadvantages of distance learning based on the network teaching platform were summarized in this paper. A one-year experiment study was carried out on our school fifth-grade students in independent reading using WeChat campus platform considering their current situation and existing problems of independent reading. In experiment study an independent reading mode was introduced. The results show that this reading mode can significantly improve students’ independent reading ability.

A Comparative Study of Interpersonal Relationship in Confucian and Hebrew Classics

Both Confucian and Hebrew classics remain an everlasting heritage for their nations and the world.Wisdom from both classics stresses the importance of interpersonal relationships in constructing the social order.This paper,through a comparative study,analyzes similar teachings and rituals concerning two prominent interpersonal relationships-marital bond and parent-child relation.It is found that in these two interpersonal relationships,both wisdom highlight the significance of these bonds,define clear boundaries and roles,and provide ethical warnings in these relations.This study contributes to the cross-cultural investigation of ancient Chinese and Hebrew wisdom in that human nature is embedded with similar hope for order,quality,and glory,so mutual understanding and acceptance is essential in promoting a globalized dialogue and critical view of cultures.Suggestions are provided for further research.

Philosophy and Philology:Two Approaches of Commentating the Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing(Shen Nong's Classic of the Materia Medica)in the Ming and Qing Dynasties

This paper tests the hypothesis that the commentary trend of the Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing(Shen Nong’s Classic of the Materia Medica)arises alongside the fashionable philology of the time,or the aversion against the Jin-Yuan medical philosophy.After surveying 12 major commentaries,it is concluded that the situation is more complicated than a simple assertion.The seemingly opposite philosophy and philology approaches have been used eclectically to innovate the understanding of ancient traditional Chinese medicine texts.

Dynamical Study of a Constant Viscous Dark Energy Model in Classical and Loop Quantum Cosmology

Dynamical behaviors and stability properties of a flat space Friedmann-Robertson-Walker universe filled with pressureless dark matter and viscous dark energy are studied in the context of standard classical and loop quantum cosmology. Assuming that the dark energy has a constant bulk viscosity, it is found that the bulk viscosity effects influence only the quintessence model case leading to the existence of a viscous late time attractor solution of de- Sitter type, whereas the quantum geometry effects influence the phantom model case where the big rip singularity is removed. Moreover, our results of the Hubble parameter as a function of the redshift are in good agreement with the more recent data.

THE CHANGES OF CHILDREN′S BEHAVIOR PROBLEMS IN XI′AN DURING FIVE YEARS FROM 1988 TO 1993

In order to understand the changes of the children's behavior model, we use the method of child Behavior Check list to evaluate the behavior problems of some school children in Xi'an in 1993, and also compared with the results which were obtained in 1988. The results showed that the prevalence of behavior factors was higher than the results obtained before 1993 and the range of the behavior factors in order and the behavior model of the school children had been obviously changed with the lapse of time. The growth environment plays an important role in the development of the children's behavior problems.

Prevalence of Contagious Diseases of School Going Children in Bangladesh

Children are becoming increasingly vulnerable to contagious disease around the world. It also leads to chronic health problems. This cross-sectional study aimed to determine the prevalence of contagious diseases in children of 5 - 12 years from five government primary schools (class II to V) in Tangail City, Bangladesh using multistage sampling method. Data were collected using a carry home questionnaire and diseases screening examination was done in the school. Prevalence of common contagious diseases was calculated. A total of 84 students were screened to have contagious diseases by clinical examination, giving a prevalence rate of 8.76% from 958 participated school children. The prevalence of contagious disease among the affected children in the study was found 30.95% for scabies, while 20.24% for influenza and 7.14%, 9.52%, 15.48%, 5.95%, & 10.71% for typhoid, chicken pox, measles, pneumonia, and whooping cough, respectively. Anthropometric measurements were recorded which indicated that 48.8% of children were well-nourished and 21.4%, 17.9%, & 11.9% of children were underweight, stunted, and wasted, respectively. However, these data are extremely important to define the problem and to design proper intervention strategies.

Impact of nutritional education on knowledge,attitude and practice regarding anemia among school children in Belgaum,India

Background:Anemia is a common public health problem throughout the globe with its main effect not only on health of people but also impact on socioeconomic development.A high prevalence of anemia among school children is an indication of a severe problem highlighting the necessity of proper action to prevent further deterioration.This study sought to study the impact of nutritional education on knowledge,attitude,and practice regarding anemia among school children.Methods:This is an interventional study among school children of Kendriye Vidyalaya,No.2 Belgaum district,India.Structured and self-administered questionnaires were used to know the knowledge,attitude and practice of student anemia.The data were analyzed using paired t-test and McNemar test.Results:There was significant increment in the mean knowledge and attitude scores of the school children at the post-test evaluation.Overall increase of 51.2%in mean score of knowledge and overall increase of 20.7%in mean score of attitudes was found(P<0.05).Increase in frequency of consumption pattern of iron rich foods especially ragi,jaggery,green leafy vegetables and sprouted grains was reported.Conclusion:The nutritional education resulted in improvement of knowledge and change in attitude regarding anemia as well as increase in consumption of foods rich in Iron.Therefore,nutritional education is one of the cost-effective and sustainable method for lowering the cases of anemia.

Historical Evolution of Traditional Medicine in Japan

Traditional Japanese Medicine originated from traditional Chinese medicine and was first introduced to Japan directly from the mainland of China or the Korean Peninsula.After its dissemination,integration,adaption,and development in Japan for generations,it had evolved into Kampo medicine with Japanese characteristics and taken a leading role in Japanese medical practice.In history,there appeared successively schools such as Followers of Later Developments in Medicine,Followers of Classic Methods,Integrated School,and School of Textual Research.Alter Meiji Restoration,Kampo medicine experienced a tremendous impact by western medicine.However after World War II,with unremitting endeavors from learned scholars,traditional Japanese medicinje was revived again.

Vomunt ut Edant,Edunt ut Vomant:Petronius’Satyricon and Features of Decadence and Victimhood in Sigalit Landau’s Installation“The Dining Hall”

Sigalit Landau is an international sculpture,video,installation,and performance artist,born in Jerusalem,and raised also in the USA and the UK.The infernal main space in her installation“The Dining Hall”(2007,KW Institute for Contemporary Art,Berlin)is filled with images resembling human remains engaged in riotous consumption from huge iron pots,in physical circus-like tricks,and copulation,surrounded by huge fleshy-like constructions.While the immediate association may be that of an apocalyptic catastrophe in relation to the Holocaust,the reference is multifaceted,as this study seeks to show.There is a strong connotation of corporeality,gluttony,digestion,decay,and abjection combined with licentiousness,and a proximity between death and pleasure.This multiplicity of contexts is embedded in the term décadence,in its connection with Antiquity and mostly with ancient Rome,and calls to mind the Roman Menippean 1st century CE text Satyricon by Petronius.A comparative analysis of Landau’s installation in relation to Satyricon opens up the way to a broad interpretation,revealing much topical and conceptual parallelism that reveals Landau’s engagement with a kind of decadence typical to the contemporary condition and that of Israel in particular.A prominent feature of her installation is that of victimhood and its influence on the Israeli occupation policy and conduct.Consequently,Landau’s installation is interpreted here as an allegory of a particular state of mind,reflecting both decadence and victimhood.
