Resistance Evaluation of Capsicum spp. Germplasm to Meloidogyne incognita

[Objective] This study aimed to screen out hot pepper germplasms highly resistant to Meloidogyne incognita, thereby providing resistant resources for hot pep- per breeding. [Method] Comprehensive analysis combining cluster analysis and sub- ordinate function was conducted through determining related resistance indexes of 67 hot pepper germplasms 50 days after inoculated with M. incognita. [Result] The effects of M. incognita on related resistance indexes were significantly different am- ong the hot pepper germplasms. Egg index and gall index had abundant genetic variation with variation coefficients of 143.16% and 118.95%, respectively. Based on the gall indexes, cluster analysis of hot pepper germplasms was performed. The 67 hot pepper germplasms were divided into 4 groups （resistant, moderately resistant, susceptible and high susceptible）. The resistance intensity of the hot pepper germplasms were ranked according to the sum of subordinate function values of various resistance indexes. The total function values of Rela 2 and L506M were the largest （2.00）, indicating that these two germplasms were immune to M. incognita. The total function values of L287-2, L522-1M, L504M, L515-2, 13SM100-1, L512M, L292-1, L319, L316, L317, 13SM87-1 and Rela 5 were larger than 1.95, indicating that these germplasms were highly resistant to M. incognita. [Conclusion] This study could provide certain resistant resources for resistance breeding of hot pepper to M. incognita.

Comprehensive Evaluation on Drought Tolerance of Widely-used Rice Varieties with Subordinate Function Method

Using drought-tolerant cultivar IAPAR 9 （upland rice from Brazil） and drought-sensitive varieties IR64 as the controls, the drought tolerances of total 26 rice varieties widely used in production were evaluated with subordinate function method based on morphological, physiological and yield traits. The results showed that the trait values of grain yield per plant （GYP）, effective panicles per plant （EPP）, seed-setting rate （SSR）, panicle length （PL）, leaf relative water content （RWC） and chlorophyll content （SPAD） in all tested varieties decreased significantly under the conditions of drought stress. The subordinate function values of these traits of all tested rice varieties were thus calculated varieties. Based on the aver- age subordinate function values of all these traits, total 7 （i.e. Y Liangyou 1） and 3 （i.e. Liangyou Peijiu） rice varieties were identified as drought-tolerant and drought- sensitive varieties, respectively.

On a Class of p-valent Analytic Functions

In this paper we consider the extreme points of closed convex hull of the class T σ(p,α) and then it is used to determine the coefficient bounds. Some other interesting properties of the class T σ(p,α) are also investigated.

On the Usage of the Subjunctive Mood in English

The subjunctive mood is one of the most difficult English grammar items for most English learners. In this thesis,the author discusses the usage of the subjunctive mood in English,especially its usage in English subordinate clauses. At the same time,the author provides a lot of examples. Comprehensive Evaluation on Drought Resistance of Different Flue-cured Tobacco Cultivars in Bijie Tobacco Growing Area

Based on pot experiments, major agronomic traits, biomass accumulation, leaf water-holding capacity, relative water content, root MDA content, root proline content and other physiological indicators of four different flue-cured tobacco culti-vars under drought stress were investigated, and drought resistance in various flue-cured tobacco cultivars was comprehensively analyzed with subordinate function method, aiming at clarifying the differences in drought resistance among various flue-cured tobacco cultivars. The results indicated that under drought stress, major agronomic traits, fresh and dry mass accumulation, and leaf relative water content of four different flue-cured tobacco cultivars were reduced significantly; the decreas-ing range of Yunyan 87 reached the minimum, fol owed by Bina 1, while Qianxi 1 demonstrated the maximum decreasing range. Leaf water-holding capacity of various flue-cured tobacco cultivars showed a descending order of Yunyan 87 〉 Bina 1 〉Qianxi 1 〉 Jiucaiping 2. MDA content and proline content in roots of various flue-cured tobacco cultivars increased significantly; to be specific, Yunyan 87 and Bina 1 exhibited a slight increase in root MDA content and a significant increase in root proline content, while Jiucaiping 2 and Qianxi 1 showed an opposite trend. Accord-ing to the results of comprehensive analysis with subordinate function method, drought resistance in various flue-cured tobacco cultivars showed a descending or-der of Yunyan 87 〉 Bina 1 〉 Jiucaiping 2 〉 Qianxi 1.

ON CERTAIN CLASS OF ANALYTIC FUNCTIONS DEFINED BY DIFFERENTIAL SUBORDINATION

In this paper, the new subclass B-n(lambda,alpha,A,B) of analytic functions is introduced. Its subordination relations, inclusion relations, the inequality properties and convering theorem are discussed. The results obtained in this paper are sharp, which generalize the related works of some authors and some other new results are obtained.

ON A CLASS OF ANALYTIC FUNCTIONS RELATED TO CONIC DOMAINS AND ASSOCIATED WITH CARLSON-SHAFFER OPERATOR

Making use of the Carlson-Shaffer convolution operator, we introduce and study a new class of analytic functions related to conic domains. The main object of this paper is to investigate inclusion relations, coefficient bound for this class. We also show that this class is closed under convolution with a convex function. Some applications are also discussed.

HARMONIC FUNCTION WITH CORRELATED COEFFICIENTS

In the paper we introduce an idea of harmonic functions with correlated coefficients which generalize the ideas of harmonic functions with negative coefficients introduced by Silverman and harmonic functions with varying coefficients defined by Jahangiri and Silverman. Next we define classes of harmonic functions with correlated coefficients in terms of generalized Dziok-Srivastava operator. By using extreme points theory, we obtain estimations of classical convex functionals on the defined classes of functions. Some applications of the main results are also considered.

Fuzzy Complex Index in Water Quality Assessment of Municipalities

Donghu Lake in Wuhan is a multipurpose complex water body. However, its eutrophication phenomenon becomes increasingly serious. By making use of detailed and accurate contamination monitoring data and several mathematics models, we probe into the dynamic state of water quality. The year’s average value of major contamination index in Donghu Lake from 2001 to 2008 and fuzzy complex index are used to assess its short-term state of water quality. The results show that its water quality is basically stable in the 4th class of water quality standard GB3838-2002.

CLASSES OF MEROMORPHIC FUNCTIONS ASSOCIATED WITH CONIC REGIONS

The object of this article is to introduce new classes of meromorphic functions associated with conic regions. Several properties like the coefficient bounds, growth and distortion theorems, radii of starlikeness and convexity, partial sums, are investigated. Some consequences of the main results for the well-known classes of meromorphic functions are also pointed out.

A UNIFIED CLASS OF ANALYTIC FUNCTIONS WITH FIXED ARGUMENT OF COEFFICIENTS

In this paper we introduce new classes of analytic functions with fixed argument of coefficients defined by subordination. Coefficient estimates, distortion theorems, integral means inequalities, and the radii of convexity and starlikeness are investigated. Convolution properties are also pointed out.

Polarity for a Class of Levy Processes

Polar set of Markov processes is an important concept in probabilistic potential theory, but it is not easy to judge the polarity of the sets. In this paper, we give some results which can be easily used to examine the polarity of the sets whenX t belongs to a special class of Levy processes. We also give a result about polar functions of symmetric stable processes.

Properties for Certain Subclass of Analytic Functions Involving Carlson-Shaffer Operators

Let Hn(p)be the class of functions of the form f(z)=z p+ +∞Σ k=n akzk+p,which are analytic in the open unit disk U={z:|z|<1}.In the paper,we introduce a new subclass Bn(μ,a,c,α,p;φ)of Hn(p)and investigate its subordination relations,inclusion relations and distortion theorems.The results obtained include the related results of some authors as their special case.

On Growth and Covering Theorem for Almost Spiallike Mapping of Type β with Order α

Let f（x） be an almost spirallike mapping of type β with order B on unit ball B of complex Banach space X. In this paper, we consider the growth and covering theorems for f（x）, we also prove that the estimation is precise when β=0 and still give growth upper bound and distortion upper bound for subordinate mapping. This result include some results known.

Coefficient Estimates for a Subclass of Bi-univalent Strongly Quasi-starlike Functions

The aim of this paper is to establish the Fekete-Szego inequality for a subclass of bi-univalent strongly quasi-starlike functions which is defined in the open unit disk. Furthermore, the coefficients a2 and a3 for functions in this new subclass are estimated.

Coefficient Estimates for a Class of m-fold Symmetric Bi-univalent Function Defined by Subordination

In this paper, we investigate the coefficient estimates of a class of m-fold bi-univalent function de?ned by subordination. The results presented in this paper improve or generalize the recent works of other authors.
