The molecular gas is found to extend over the entire region of G40.5-0.5. A molecular shell, with a diameter of ~ 26′, coincides with the ionized gas as revealed by the cm-radio observations. This coincidence, along with the velocity discontinuity following the shell, provides direct evidence for interaction between the ionized gas and the dense molecular gas. No clear evidence for cosmic-ray accelera- tion can be identified from this SNR as previously suggested, due to positional uncertainty in relating the SNR shell defined by CO to the EGRET gamma-ray sources, GRO J1904+06, from the gamma-ray observations.展开更多

After introducing the concept of (-)-Green's relations, and obtaining some important properties of (-)-Green's relations and super E(S)-semiabundant semigroups, we have given the semilattice decomposition of ortho-u-monoids and a structure theorem for regular ortho-u-monoids. The main techniques that we used in the study are the (-)-Green's relations, and the semi-spined product of semigroups.展开更多

Then consideration turns to the 2008 Chinese Super League. It has 16 teams. The results from the first half of the season, i.e. 15 rounds, are studied. The response of interest for a specific game is whether the home team won, tied or lost, who the home team was, and who the opponent was. The response is ordinal-valued. A generalized linear model is fit and then, given the remaining fixtures, used to predict the final standings of the season. Other explanatories, such as round number, are considered for inclusion in the model. Simulation is employed to estimate probabilities of interest.展开更多
