The author analyzes "Reading and Writing Book" of "21st Century College English" based on the ... The quality of course books decides the quality of teaching. It is important to evaluate course books. The author analyzes "Reading and Writing Book" of "21st Century College English" based on the Nuttal’s reading model. Firstly, this model is presented in the open- ing part. Secondly, then the author discusses suitability of the course book from its content variety, authenticity and the training of language skills. Thirdly, how Nuttal’s reading prin- ciples and reading skills are reflected in such book is analyzed. Based on the discussion and analysis, conclusions are drawn that it is suitable for reading instruction; many of the reading principles and reading skills are well embodied and trained in this book. Finally suggestions are presented in the conclusion part. These suggestions include: 1) this book should be adopted more authentic materials such as poems, advertisements, recipes, travel guidebooks and so on; 2) teachers may present and train students’ reading skills systematically; 3) teachers should provide more and better non-linear text, such as col- ored pictures, reference book list, etc. 展开更多

With the evolutionary change in information and communication technologies (ICT), the definition of literacy has undergone substantial change to include the skills and strategies required to successfully adapt to the rapidly changing ICT contexts. This new definition presents an urgent need to acknowledge the gap between the types of reading experiences students come across at school and those they regularly practice outside the school. One way to bridge such gap is to expand the reading instruction to incorporate electronic reading device, like Kindle, to engage students in electronic reading. Many e-books feature multimodal functionalities, including audio, video, hyperlinks, and interactive tools. Research on this form of reading is still in its infancy in spite of some positive prospects for fostering literacy development and reading comprehension. Therefore, adopting a mixed method approach with 36 college freshmen in central Taiwan, the current study intended to fill in the void by investigating any difference in readers' reading comprehension and reading motivation, between the Kindle group and the print-based group. The results indicate that embedding aspects of technology into a traditional reading instruction boosted the participants' motivation to read. Nevertheless, the novelty-driven enthusiasm for electronic reading might not sustain students' reading motivation long enough to cultivate long-lasting reading habits. The results indicate that there was no significant difference in reading comprehension between two groups. Implications for utilizing electronic readers in EFL classes are also provided. 展开更多

[目的/意义]分析Booktok社区对阅读推广的作用逻辑,旨在为我国图书馆推进全民阅读提供参考。[方法/过程]通过文献分析等研究方法,概述Booktok社区的基本情况,分析了Booktok社区与阅读推广实现路径,并利用用户对话理论,探究了Booktok社区的效应现象,在此基础上提出了对我国图书馆推进阅读推广的启示。[结果/结论]Booktok实现阅读推广的主要途径分别是情境化的书籍推荐、交互性的虚拟社区交流、场景性的阅读空间呈现和生产性的知识延伸。基于对话理论的分析,社区认同的情感连接、感知真实的身份构建和视听美学的情绪共振,是Booktok取得良好效果的主要原因。这对我国图书馆进一步进行阅读推广或有启示,如国内抖音等社交媒体平台可作为图书馆开展阅读推广服务的平台,并精准处理推送内容以增强用户交互性,综合使用视听元素,营造阅读美学体验,促进书香社会的构建。 展开更多

纸质古籍文献的数字化、虚拟化转化是当前我国古籍保护工作的重点方向之一。基于此,基于B/S架构搭建了一种纸质古籍文献向VR系统转化的模型,该模型包含三个核心层和一个辅助层,详细分析了该模型的关键业务逻辑包括古籍的图像采集和预处... 纸质古籍文献的数字化、虚拟化转化是当前我国古籍保护工作的重点方向之一。基于此,基于B/S架构搭建了一种纸质古籍文献向VR系统转化的模型,该模型包含三个核心层和一个辅助层,详细分析了该模型的关键业务逻辑包括古籍的图像采集和预处理、阅读信息定位、阅读信息提取等,并对该系统的工作情况进行测试。结果表明:在搭建的测试环境下,该转化系统对古籍纸质文献文字的采集准确率可达96.4%,系统综合延迟低于1.6ms,是一种较为理想的纸质古籍文献VR转化模型。 展开更多
