Ambient noise tomography is a rapidly emerging field of seismological research. This paper presents the current status of ambient noise data processing and its development history over the past several years, with the intention to explain and justify this development through salient examples. The ambient noise data processing procedure can be divided into four principal phases: ① single station data preparation; ② cross- correlation and temporal stacking; ③ measurements of dispersion curves ( performed with frequency-time analysis for both group and phase speeds) ; ④ quality control, including SNR analysis and selection of the acceptable measurements. In addition, we provide a specific solution for a better use of the seismic station data to ambient noise study. 展开更多

The blade frequency noise of non-cavitation propeller in a uniform flow is analyzed in time domain. The unsteady loading (dipole source) on the blade surface is calculated by a potential-based surface panel method. Then the time- dependent pressure data is used as the input for Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings formulation to predict the acoustics pressure. The integration of noise source is performed over the true blade surface rather than the nothickness blade surface, and the effect of hub can be considered. The noise characteristics of the non-cavitation propeller and the numerical discretization forms are discussed. 展开更多

In Germany, diamond grinding is frequently used to improve the evenness and skid resistance of concrete pavement surfaces. Since diamond grinding has been observed to affect tyre/pavement noise emission favourably, the relationship among surface texture, concrete composition and noise emission of concrete pavement surfaces has been sys- tematically investigated. The simulation program SPERoN was used in a parameter study to investigate the main factors which affect noise emission. Based on the results of the simulations, textured concrete surfaces were produced by using a laboratory grinding machine. As well as the composition of the concrete, the thickness and spacing of the diamond blades were varied. The ability of the textured surfaces to reduce noise emission was assessed from the texture characteristics and air flow resistance of textured surfaces measured in the laboratory. It was found that concrete composition and, in particular, the spacing of the blades affected the reduction in noise emission considerably. The noise emission behaviour of numerous road sections was also considered in field investigations. The pavement surfaces had been textured by diamond grinding during the last years or decades. The results show that diamond grinding is able to provide good, durable noise- reducing properties. Several new pavement sections were investigated using thicknesses and spacings of the blades similar to those used in the laboratory to optimize noise emission reduction. It is concluded that diamond grinding is a good alternative to exposed aggregate concrete for the production of low-noise pavement surfaces. 展开更多

This paper proposes a down-stroke abrasive belt grinding under micro feeding for noise reduction surface.Firstly,a physical model of processing under micro feeding for noise reduction structure was established.Based on the flexible contact characteristics of abrasive belt grinding and Hertz contact theory,a mathematical model suitable for this method was established, considering vibration and abrasive belt wear.Secondly,a simulation analysis was carried out. Then,an experimental platform was built to analyze the influence of process parameters on surface roughness and surface microstructure, with the model verified. Finally, the propeller with pit structure was simulated, and the noise reduction performance of the propeller under this method and general abrasive belt grinding was compared and analyzed. The results show that the maximum error of the model based on proposed method does not exceed 10%,and the coincidence degree of the minimum error point can reach 90%at lower feed speed and higher linear velocity of the abrasive belt. The noise reduction effect of the propeller with pit-shaped surfaces can reach 35%.Through the above analysis, the proposed method can be used for the processing of noise reduction surfaces. 展开更多

An improved localization method consisting of "filtering-time delay estimationhyperbolic localization" is proposed. Combining the empirical mode decomposition(EMD)and time delay estimation method based on generalized average magnitude difference function, the original signals are decomposed into intrinsic mode function(IMF) components. The energy distribution criterion and spectrum consistency criterion are used to select the IMFs, which can represent the physical characteristics of the source signal. Several sets of signals are applied to estimate the time delay, and then a vector matching criterion is proposed to select the correct time delay estimation. Considering the hydrophones location, a shell model is established and projected to a plane according to the quadrant before the hyperbolic localization. Results of mooring and sailing tests show that the proposed method improves the localization accuracy, and reduces the error caused by time delay estimation. 展开更多
