It is known that earthquake sequences of different types have different consistency characteristics of focal mechanism. The decrease and increase of the first motion contradictory sign ratios could be taken as an index to judge whether there would still be a larger earthquake to come after the earthquake sequence.展开更多
Taking into account the effect of velocity profiles of the continuous phase in interstices of drops,dragcoefficient and relative motion correlations for dispersed liquid-liquid two-phase flow in absence of mass transf...Taking into account the effect of velocity profiles of the continuous phase in interstices of drops,dragcoefficient and relative motion correlations for dispersed liquid-liquid two-phase flow in absence of mass transferwere developed in terms of the pseudo-fluid concept based on the simple similarity criteria and the mixtureviscosity model suggested by Ishii and Zuber.The present model was compared with the experimental data fromfive(different sources and also with seven other pertinent correlations available in literature.Fairly goodpredictions were obtained under wide ranges of the dispersed phase holdup and Reynolds number.The validity ofthe present model has also been checked against the experimental slip velocity data and holdup data obtained ina Karr reciprocating plate extraction column by the author of the present paper and satisfactory agreement isachieved、The results show that the equations of the motion of a multi-droplet system can be formulated in aform identical with those for a single展开更多

There are five earthquakes with Ms ≥5. 0 in the Qianguo earthquake swarm, with magnitudes of Ms 5. 5, Ms 5. 0, Ms 5. 3, Ms 5. 8 ...The Qianguo Ms5. 8 earthquake swarm of 2013 occurred in Qianguo, Jilin Province, China. There are five earthquakes with Ms ≥5. 0 in the Qianguo earthquake swarm, with magnitudes of Ms 5. 5, Ms 5. 0, Ms 5. 3, Ms 5. 8 and Ms 5. 0. In this study, the far-field seismic radiated energy characteristics of the earthquakes are compared based on the source spectrum and the ground motion spectrum of the earthquake swarm. The ground motion spectrum of the five earthquakes at Changchun seismic station (CN2), which is the national standard station, is first investigated with the recorded ground motions, and then the far-field seismic radiated energy is calculated and combined with the relationships of the source spectrum to describe the variable characteristics of the Qianguo earthquake swarm. Research results indicate that the second earthquake (No. 2) with Ms5. 0 is the key event of the earthquake swarm, which occurred on October 31, the same day following the first Ms5. 5 earthquake (No.l). In fact, the magnitude of event No. 2 decreased compared to event No.l, which did not agree with its large far-field seismic radiated energy. It needs to be pointed out that event No. 2 was the turning point event of the Qianguo earthquake swarm, as being a significant transition before the largest Ms5. 8 earthquake.展开更多

First, food sources o...In response to the shortcomings of the Salp Swarm Algorithm (SSA) such as low convergence accuracy and slow convergence speed, a Multi-Strategy-Driven Salp Swarm Algorithm (MSD-SSA) was proposed. First, food sources or random leaders were associated with the current bottle sea squirt at the beginning of the iteration, to which Levy flight random walk and crossover operators with small probability were added to improve the global search and ability to jump out of local optimum. Secondly, the position mean of the leader was used to establish a link with the followers, which effectively avoided the blind following of the followers and greatly improved the convergence speed of the algorithm. Finally, Brownian motion stochastic steps were introduced to improve the convergence accuracy of populations near food sources. The improved method switched under changes in the adaptive parameters, balancing the exploration and development of SSA. In the simulation experiments, the performance of the algorithm was examined using SSA and MSD-SSA on the commonly used CEC benchmark test functions and CEC2017-constrained optimization problems, and the effectiveness of MSD-SSA was verified by solving three real engineering problems. The results showed that MSD-SSA improved the convergence speed and convergence accuracy of the algorithm, and achieved good results in practical engineering problems.展开更多
A simulated annealing particle swarm optimization(PSO)algorithm is utilized in this paper to plan the motion of space manipulators with minimized base disturbance,not only its attitude but also its position.Since spac...A simulated annealing particle swarm optimization(PSO)algorithm is utilized in this paper to plan the motion of space manipulators with minimized base disturbance,not only its attitude but also its position.Since space manipulators must meet the Law of Momentum Conservation,any motion of manipulators will disturb the spacecraft which is free-float in the space environment.This paper tries to limit this effect to the minimum.First,this paper establishes the mathematical model for space manipulators by generalized Jacobian matrix(GJM) and analyzes its inverse kinematics by Theory of Screws.Second,a polynomial function of seventh degree is used to parameterize the joint motion and quaternion representation is also used to represent attitude of spacecraft.Moreover,this paper designs a proper objective function and depicts this algorithm detailedly and clearly.Finally,the results of numerical simulation are verified by the proposed algorithm.展开更多
