These countries, located in regions prone to unpredictable temperature and precipitation changes, are facing significant challenges, particularly in climate-sensitive sectors such as mining and agriculture. LDCs need more resilience to adverse climate shocks but have limited capacity for adaptation compared to other developed and developing nations. This paper examines Liberia’s susceptibility to climate change as a least developed country, focusing on its exposure, sensitivity, and adaptive capacity. It provides an overview of LDCs and outlines the global distribution of carbon dioxide emissions. The paper also evaluates specific challenges that amplify Liberia’s vulnerability and constrain sustainable adaptation, providing insight into climate change’s existing and potential effects. The paper emphasizes the urgency of addressing climate impacts on Liberia and calls for concerted local and international efforts for effective and sustainable mitigation efforts. The results show that during the period 1999 -2010,the research on the project of " turning vulnerable farmland into forests" always captured the attention of academia,and the number of research papers annually averaged more than 300; the relevant forestry functional departments at all levels,forestry-related research institutions and universities have paid close attention to the project of " turning vulnerable farmland into forests" in China; the group of core journals researched is concentrated in journals concerning forestry; in addition to forestry and agriculture,the research areas also touch upon economics,environment and other disciplines; the emphasis and hot spot of research are centered on applications, with few basic researches.展开更多
On a global scale,from 2005 to 2019,there were 275 high-magnitude,low-frequency disasters that involved 14,172 fatalities and four million affected people.Similar patterns have taken place during longer periods of tim...On a global scale,from 2005 to 2019,there were 275 high-magnitude,low-frequency disasters that involved 14,172 fatalities and four million affected people.Similar patterns have taken place during longer periods of time in recent decades.This paper aims to analyse the contribution of the international landslide research community to disaster risk reduction and disaster risk management in reference to the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAVs)in a literature review.The first section notes the relevance of disaster risk research contributions for the implementation of initiatives and strategies concerning disaster risk management.The second section highlights background information and current applications of drones in the field of hazards and risk.The methodology,which included a systematic peer review of journals in the ISI Web of Science and SCOPUS,was presented in the third section,where the results include analyses of the considered data.This study concludes that most current scholarly efforts remain rooted in hazards and post-disaster evaluation and response.Future landslide disaster risk research should be transdisciplinary in order to strengthen participation of the various relevant stakeholders in contributing to integrated disaster risk management at local,subnational,national,regional and global levels.展开更多
Android has been dominating the smartphone market for more than a decade and has managed to capture 87.8%of the market share.Such popularity of Android has drawn the attention of cybercriminals and malware developers....Android has been dominating the smartphone market for more than a decade and has managed to capture 87.8%of the market share.Such popularity of Android has drawn the attention of cybercriminals and malware developers.The malicious applications can steal sensitive information like contacts,read personal messages,record calls,send messages to premium-rate numbers,cause financial loss,gain access to the gallery and can access the user’s geographic location.Numerous surveys on Android security have primarily focused on types of malware attack,their propagation,and techniques to mitigate them.To the best of our knowledge,Android malware literature has never been explored using information modelling techniques.Further,promulgation of contemporary research trends in Android malware research has never been done from semantic point of view.This paper intends to identify intellectual core from Android malware literature using Latent Semantic Analysis(LSA).An extensive corpus of 843 articles on Android malware and security,published during 2009–2019,were processed using LSA.Subsequently,the truncated singular Value Decomposition(SVD)technique was used for dimensionality reduction.Later,machine learning methods were deployed to effectively segregate prominent topic solutions with minimal bias.Apropos to observed term and document loading matrix values,this five core research areas and twenty research trends were identified.Further,potential future research directions have been detailed to offer a quick reference for information scientists.The study concludes to the fact that Android security is crucial for pervasive Android devices.Static analysis is the most widely investigated core area within Android security research and is expected to remain in trend in near future.Research trends indicate the need for a faster yet effective model to detect Android applications causing obfuscation,financial attacks and stealing user information.展开更多

Through a review of published research from domestic and foreign scholars, starting from t...The fragility of ecosystem health has become a key factor hindering the sustainable development of the ecological environment. Through a review of published research from domestic and foreign scholars, starting from the endogenous logic of studies in the field of ecosystem vulnerability(EV), this paper sorts out the literature on the aspects of measurement models, prediction methods and risk assessment, comprehensively defines the research category and scientific framework of EV, and analyzes the research ideas and development trends. We arrived at the following conclusions: 1) The connotation of ecosystem vulnerability not only embodies the change in the vulnerability of the natural environment, but it also reflects the irreversible damage to the ecosystem caused by excessive development and industrial production activities. 2) The setting of ecosystem vulnerability indices should aim to fully reflect the essential features of that vulnerability, which should include the index systems of natural, social, economic and other related factors. 3) There are many types of ecosystem vulnerability measurement methods, prediction models and risk evaluation models, which have different focuses and advantages. The most appropriate method should be adopted for conducting comprehensive and systematic evaluation, prediction and estimation according to the different representation and evolution mechanisms of the chosen research object and regional ecosystem vulnerability. 4) Based on the regional system characteristics, corresponding risk management measures should be proposed, and pertinent policy suggestions should be put forward to improve the ecological safety and sustainable development of an ecologically vulnerable area.展开更多
