Although information security and cyber security are sometimes used synonymously, this study contends that they are not the same. The concept of cyber security is explored, which goes beyond protecting information resources to include a wider variety of assets, including people [1]. Protecting information assets is the main goal of traditional information security, with consideration to the human element and how people fit into the security process. On the other hand, cyber security adds a new level of complexity, as people might unintentionally contribute to or become targets of cyberattacks. This aspect presents moral questions since it is becoming more widely accepted that society has a duty to protect weaker members of society, including children [1]. The study emphasizes how important cyber security is on a larger scale, with many countries creating plans and laws to counteract cyberattacks. Nevertheless, a lot of these sources frequently neglect to define the differences or the relationship between information security and cyber security [1]. The paper focus on differentiating between cybersecurity and information security on a larger scale. The study also highlights other areas of cybersecurity which includes defending people, social norms, and vital infrastructure from threats that arise from online in addition to information and technology protection. It contends that ethical issues and the human factor are becoming more and more important in protecting assets in the digital age, and that cyber security is a paradigm shift in this regard [1].展开更多

These thresholds can be obtained in various ways, but most often they are based on previous landslide data. This approach introduces several limitations. For instance, there is a requirement for the location to have been previously monitored in some way to have this type of information recorded. Another significant limitation is the need for information regarding the location and timing of incidents. Despite the current ease of obtaining location information (GPS, drone images, etc.), the timing of the event remains challenging to ascertain for a considerable portion of landslide data. Concerning rainfall monitoring, there are multiple ways to consider it, for instance, examining accumulations over various intervals (1 h, 6 h, 24 h, 72 h), as well as in the calculation of effective rainfall, which represents the precipitation that actually infiltrates the soil. However, in the vast majority of cases, both the thresholds and the rain monitoring approach are defined manually and subjectively, relying on the operators’ experience. This makes the process labor-intensive and time-consuming, hindering the establishment of a truly standardized and rapidly scalable methodology on a large scale. In this work, we propose a Landslides Early Warning System (LEWS) based on the concept of rainfall half-life and the determination of thresholds using Cluster Analysis and data inversion. The system is designed to be applied in extensive monitoring networks, such as the one utilized by Cemaden, Brazil’s National Center for Monitoring and Early Warning of Natural Disasters.展开更多

The functionally graded (FG) plate exhibits a different material properties in-plane, and the power-law rule is adopted as the governing principle for material mixing. To validate the harmonic response and demonstrate the accuracy and convergence of the isogeometric modeling, ANASYS is utilized to compare with numerical examples. A plane wave serves as the acoustic excitation, and the Rayleigh integral is applied to discretize the radiated plate. The STL results are compared with the literature, confirming the reliability of the coupling system. Finally, the investigation is conducted to study impact of cavity depth and power-law parameter on the STL.展开更多

The study uses a 50 kW diesel generator, a 10 kW wind turbine, 1500 kW photovoltaic solar panels, a converter, and storage batteries as the proposed sources. The main objective of this study is to conduct a detailed analysis and optimization of a hybrid diesel and renewable energy system to meet the electricity demand of a remote area village of 800 to 1500 inhabitants located in the north of Ngazidja Island in Comoros. The study uses the Hybrid Optimization Model for Electric Renewable (HOMER) Pro to conduct simulations and optimize the analysis using meteorological data from Comoros. The results show that hybrid combination is more profitable in terms of margin on economic cost with a less expensive investment. With a diesel cost of $1/L, an average wind speed of 5.09 m/s and a solar irradiation value of 6.14 kWh/m2/day, the system works well with a proportion of renewable energy production of 99.44% with an emission quantity of 1311.407 kg/year. 99.2% of the production comes from renewable sources with an estimated energy surplus of 2,125,344 kWh/year with the cost of electricity (COE) estimated at $0.18/kWh, presenting a cost-effective alternative compared to current market rates. These results present better optimization of the used hybrid energy system, satisfying energy demand and reducing the environmental impact.展开更多

It is usual for planners to treat these activities as separate processes or 'systems'. Six serious shortcomings are identified in prevailing approaches to accounting for the environmental impacts of transport plans. The application of systems analysis has elucidated opportunities for overcoming these problems by integrating the two processes. The paper highlights the benefits of using these methods to direct research into, and development of, an integrated transport planning- environmental analysis system. Techniques applied are data flow diagrams, a Venn diagram and an entity-relationship diagram. Significant potential exists for integration within a geographic information system(GIS), although adoption of integrated methods by transport planners is likely to be incremental. Research confirms the usefulness of systems analysis in guiding the development of a GIS application to accommodate integrated transport planning and environmental analysis. Systems analysis also facilitates more careful and effective design of the databases underlying GIS analysis.展开更多

However, the formulation has so many principles in choosing the generalized coordinates that it hinders the implementation of modeling automation, A first order direct sensitivity analysis approach to multibody systems formulated with novel natural coordinates is presented. Firstly, a new selection method for natural coordinate is developed. The method introduces 12 coordinates to describe the position and orientation of a spatial object. On the basis of the proposed natural coordinates, rigid constraint conditions, the basic constraint elements as well as the initial conditions for the governing equations are derived. Considering the characteristics of the governing equations, the newly proposed generalized-ct integration method is used and the corresponding algorithm flowchart is discussed. The objective function, the detailed analysis process of first order direct sensitivity analysis and related solving strategy are provided based on the previous modeling system Finally, in order to verify the validity and accuracy of the method presented, the sensitivity analysis of a planar spinner-slider mechanism and a spatial crank-slider mechanism are conducted. The test results agree well with that of the finite difference method, and the maximum absolute deviation of the results is less than 3%. The proposed approach is not only convenient for automatic modeling, but also helpful for the reduction of the complexity of sensitivity analysis, which provides a practical and effective way to obtain sensitivity for the optimization problems of multibody systems.展开更多

文摘The robust stability study of the classic Smith predictor-based control system for uncertain fractional-order plants with interval time delays and interval coefficients is the emphasis of this work.Interval uncertainties are a type of parametric uncertainties that cannot be avoided when modeling real-world plants. Also,in the considered Smith predictor control structure it is supposed that the controller is a fractional-order proportional integral derivative(FOPID)controller. To the best of the authors'knowledge,no method has been developed until now to analyze the robust stability of a Smith predictor based fractional-order control system in the presence of the simultaneous uncertainties in gain,time-constants,and time delay. The three primary contributions of this study are as follows:ⅰ)a set of necessary and sufficient conditions is constructed using a graphical method to examine the robust stability of a Smith predictor-based fractionalorder control system—the proposed method explicitly determines whether or not the FOPID controller can robustly stabilize the Smith predictor-based fractional-order control system;ⅱ)an auxiliary function as a robust stability testing function is presented to reduce the computational complexity of the robust stability analysis;andⅲ)two auxiliary functions are proposed to achieve the control requirements on the disturbance rejection and the noise reduction. Finally, four numerical examples and an experimental verification are presented in this study to demonstrate the efficacy and significance of the suggested technique.
文摘A significant portion of Landslide Early Warning Systems (LEWS) relies on the definition of operational thresholds and the monitoring of cumulative rainfall for alert issuance. The system is designed to be applied in extensive monitoring networks, such as the one utilized by Cemaden, Brazil’s National Center for Monitoring and Early Warning of Natural Disasters.
文摘In this paper, the isogeometric analysis (IGA) is employed to develop an acoustic radiation model for a double plate-acoustic cavity coupling system, with a focus on analyzing the sound transmission loss (STL). Finally, the investigation is conducted to study impact of cavity depth and power-law parameter on the STL.
文摘This study aims to provide electricity to a remote village in the Union of Comoros that has been affected by energy problems for over 40 years. These results present better optimization of the used hybrid energy system, satisfying energy demand and reducing the environmental impact.
文摘This paper applies Yourdon's (1989) structured systems analysis techniques to transport planning, and the environmental analysis of transport plans. Systems analysis also facilitates more careful and effective design of the databases underlying GIS analysis.

文摘Heterogeneous data, different definitions and incompatible models are a huge problem in many domains, with no exception for the field of energy systems analysis.Hence,it is hard to re-use results, compare model results or couple models at all.Ontologies provide a precisely defined vocabulary to build a common and shared conceptu-alisation of the energy domain. Here,we present the Open Energy Ontology(OEO)developed for the domain of energy systems analysis.Using the OEO provides several benefits for the community.First,it enables consistent annotation of large amounts of data from various research projects. One example is the Open Energy Platform(OEP).Adding such annotations makes data semantically searchable,exchangeable,re-usable and interoperable.Second, computational model coupling becomes much easier. The advantages of using an ontology such as the OEO are demonstrated with three use cases:data representation, data annotation and interface homogenisation. We also describe how the ontology can be used for linked open data(LOD).

文摘Applied linguistics is an interdisciplinary domain which identifies, investigates, and offers solutions to language-related real-life problems. The new coronavirus disease, otherwise known as Coronavirus disease(COVID-19),has severely affected the everyday life of people all over the world.Specifically, since there is insufficient access to vaccines and no straight or reliable treatment for coronavirus infection, the country has initiated the appropriate preventive measures(like lockdown, physical separation, and masking)for combating this extremely transmittable disease. So,individuals spent more time on online social media platforms(i.e.,Twitter,Facebook,Instagram,LinkedIn,and Reddit)and expressed their thoughts and feelings about coronavirus infection.Twitter has become one of the popular social media platforms and allows anyone to post tweets. This study proposes a sine cosine optimization with bidirectional gated recurrent unit-based senti-ment analysis(SCOBGRU-SA)on COVID-19 tweets. The SCOBGRU-SA technique aimed to detect and classify the various sentiments in Twitter data during the COVID-19 pandemic. The SCOBGRU-SA technique follows data pre-processing and the Fast-Text word embedding process to accomplish this. Moreover, the BGRU model is utilized to recognise and classify sen-timents present in the tweets.Furthermore, the SCO algorithm is exploited for tuning the BGRU method’s hyperparameter, which helps attain improved classification performance. The experimental validation of the SCOBGRU-SA technique takes place using a benchmark dataset, and the results signify its promising performance compared to other DL models.

文摘The classical natural coordinate modeling method which removes the Euler angles and Euler parameters from the governing equations is particularly suitable for the sensitivity analysis and optimization of multibody systems. The proposed approach is not only convenient for automatic modeling, but also helpful for the reduction of the complexity of sensitivity analysis, which provides a practical and effective way to obtain sensitivity for the optimization problems of multibody systems.

文摘The scientific and fair positioning of monitoring locations for surface displacement on slopes is a prerequisite for early warning and forecasting. However, there is no specific provision on how to effectively determine the number and location of monitoring points according to the actual deformation characteristics of the slope. There are still some defects in the layout of monitoring points. To this end, based on displacement data series and spatial location information of surface displacement monitoring points,by combining displacement series correlation and spatial distance influence factors,a spatial deformation correlation calculation model of slope based on clustering analysis was proposed to calculate the correlation between different monitoring points, based on which the deformation area of the slope was divided. The redundant monitoring points in each partition were eliminated based on the partition's outcome, and the overall optimal arrangement of slope monitoring points was then achieved. This method scientifically addresses the issues of slope deformation zoning and data gathering overlap. It not only eliminates human subjectivity from slope deformation zoning but also increases the efficiency and accuracy of slope monitoring. In order to verify the effectiveness of the method,a sand-mudstone interbedded CounterTilt excavation slope in the Chongqing city of China was used as the research object.Twenty-four monitoring points deployed on this slope were monitored for surface displacement for 13 months. The spatial location of the monitoring points was discussed. The results show that the proposed method of slope deformation zoning and the optimized placement of monitoring points are feasible.

文摘Large-scale solar sails can provide power to spacecraft for deep space exploration.A new type of telescopic tubular mast(TTM)driven by a bistable carbon fiber-reinforced polymer tube was designed in this study to solve the problem of contact between the sail membrane and the spacecraft under light pressure.Compared with the traditional TTM,it has a small size, light weight, high extension ratio, and simple structure. The anti-blossoming and self-unlocking structure of the proposed TTM was described. We aimed to simplify the TTM with a complex structure into a beam model with equal linear mass density, and the simulation results showed good consistency. The dynamic equation was derived based on the equivalent model, and the effects of different factors on the vibration characteristics of the TTM were analyzed. The performance parameters were optimized based on a multiobjective genetic algorithm, and prototype production and load experiments were conducted. The results show that the advantages of the new TTM can complete the deployment of large-scale solar sails, which is valuable for future deep space exploration.
