An Analysis of Teacher Talk in College English Classroom

As an indispensable part of college English class,teacher talk has a great influence on the effect of the language teaching.By analyzing teacher talk from four aspects of dominance of teacher talk,teacher's questions,teacher's directives and code-switching,a conclusion is drawn:teachers should employ teacher talk appropriately in college English class in order to improve the quality of language teaching.

融合MacBERT和Talking⁃Heads Attention实体关系联合抽取模型

针对现有的医学文本关系抽取任务模型在训练过程中存在语义理解能力不足,可能导致关系抽取的效果不尽人意的问题,文中提出一种融合MacBERT和Talking⁃Heads Attention的实体关系联合抽取模型。该模型首先利用MacBERT语言模型来获取动态字向量表达,MacBERT作为改进的BERT模型,能够减少预训练和微调阶段之间的差异,从而提高模型的泛化能力;然后,将这些动态字向量表达输入到双向门控循环单元(BiGRU)中,以便提取文本的上下文特征。BiGRU是一种改进的循环神经网络(RNN),具有更好的长期依赖捕获能力。在获取文本上下文特征之后,使用Talking⁃Heads Attention来获取全局特征。Talking⁃Heads Attention是一种自注意力机制,可以捕获文本中不同位置之间的关系,从而提高关系抽取的准确性。实验结果表明,与实体关系联合抽取模型GRTE相比,该模型F1值提升1%,precision值提升0.4%,recall值提升1.5%。

Teacher Talk in Chinese Secondary English Classrooms: Power and Control

This paper investigates the features of teacher talk by two secondary school English teachers by using Bourdieu's framework. Based on data analysis of two class recordings, this study argued that the experienced teacher was able to achieve her purpose by utilizing her cultural capital, while the less experienced teacher was less successful in claiming power and control due to her inadequate cultural capital and inappropriate code choice in the classroom. The study suggest that new teachers be advised on the potency of code selection to facilitate instruction.

A Comparative Study on Teacher Talk of Australian and Chinese English Teachers in English as Foreign Language Classrooms

Research on teacher talk has shown that many different teaching behaviors between native speaking teachers and nonnative speaking teachers may result from their different English proficiency.This paper aims to examine the differences between Australian English teachers(AETs)and Chinese English teachers(CETs)in language classrooms in terms of language use,linguistic complexity,linguistic variety.Two college teachers(one AET and one CET)were observed.Data were collected via classroom observation and analyzed by a qualitative research method.The findings revealed that there were certain differences in the above aspects.The results,therefore,have implications for language teaching.

Effect Evaluation of CBL Combined with Rain Classroom Teaching Method in Medical Statistics

Objective: To explore the application effect of CBL combined with rain classroom teaching method in medical statistics courses. Methods: The undergraduate students of medical imaging technology in 2019 and 2020 in a university were selected as the research objects. A cluster sampling method was used to select 79 undergraduate students from 2019 in the control group and 75 undergraduate students from 2020 in the experimental group. Traditional teaching method and CBL combined with rain classroom teaching method was used in the control group and experimental group respectively. The final examination scores of the two groups were compared. In experimental group, the correlation between the average score in the rain classroom and the final examination score was tested, and the teaching effect was evaluated. Results: The average score of final examination in experimental group and control group was 79.13 ± 10.32 points and 71.54 ± 14.752 points, respectively, which had a statistically significant difference (Z = 2.586, P = 0.012);the final examination scores of the students in the experimental group were positively correlated with the average scores of the rain classroom (r = 0.372, P = 0.001), and the proportion of satisfaction in the experimental group was 94.7%. Conclusion: The CBL combined with rain classroom teaching method can improve the teaching effectiveness of medical statistics courses.

On Teacher Talk in ELT Classroom Teaching

Teacher talk (TT for short) in China's ELT (English as Foreign Language Teaching) classroom teaching refers to the speech that the teacher uses to speak to students when the teacher undertakes teaching tasks and spread knowledge. This article will firstly introduce teacher talk briefly and then analyze some strategies with regard to TT with the ultimate purposes of illustrating how effective teacher talk contributes to the good relationship between teacher and students in ELT classroom.

Teacher Talk Code-switching in College English Teaching Classroom

Code-switching is considered as a strategy of cognition, interaction and teaching. Foreign language teachers often use code-switching as a skill of pedagogy to teach students to learn foreign language and promote their own teaching practice. Evidence shows that the proper sue of code-switching will promote English teaching practice, however, it is arguable that how to use native language to improve English teaching. This paper will discuss code-switching in Chinese English teaching with the SLA theories and put forward some guidance to teacher talk code-switching.

An Analysis of Teacher Talk in College English Classroom from the Perspective of Relevance Theory

In the classroom interactive teaching activities, the problem posed by teachers is teacher′s utterance. Teacher talk is notonly a tool for teachers to implement teaching plans, but also determine the success or failure of classroom teaching, so it has beenthe focus of language teaching research for many years. In the process of classroom communication, teachers′discourse cannot bewell understood, sometimes the questions raised can not induce students′timely, relevant and clear answers, leading to communica-tion failure. How to make teachers′discourse more understandable and how to successfully put forward the principles of explicit-ness, relevance and the acquisition of contextual effects of relevance theory has a good explanatory power for some phenomena ofclassroom communication in foreign language teaching. According to the basic idea of Relevance Theory, through the analysis ofteachers′discourse examples, we can find the theoretical basis for successful classroom questioning.

Innovative Research on the Application of Flexible Learning in Classroom Teaching at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University in Thailand

This article aims to introduce an innovative approach to classroom student participation and academic performance in a flexible learning environment at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University in Thailand.To achieve this goal,a series of theories,concepts,and related research were reviewed and a comprehensive model of relevant factors was constructed.The research design adopted a mixed methods approach,utilizing quantitative research to test the relationships between variables in the model,followed by qualitative research to gain a deeper understanding of how these factors affect students’grades.Combining the results of quantitative and qualitative research can provide guidance for improving the performance of Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University students in flexible learning systems in Thailand.

Study on the Teacher Talk in EFL Classroom

As a distinctive professional language,teacher's language deserves a linguistic analysis.By class observation and interview,the article aims to analyze the feature of teacher talk in EFL class from the perspectives of discourse,the way of offering questions,feedback and so on.Finally,the author concludes the study with some suggestions to make teacher talk more effective.

Analysis and Strategy Research on Influencing Factors of Classroom Teaching Quality in Higher Vocational Colleges

In this study,the questionnaire“Influencing Factors of Classroom Quality in Higher Vocational Education”was self-compiled.By using the questionnaire survey method,the research conclusion was drawn that the main factors affecting the classroom teaching quality in higher vocational education were teaching and student factors,teacher factors,and classroom factors based on 2,683 samples.According to the research results,the measures to improve the quality of classroom teaching are put forward,in order to provide guidance for improving the quality of teaching in higher vocational colleges.

Research and Discussion on Flipped Classroom Combined with Case-Based Learning in Pharmacoeconomics Teaching

Objective:To explore the application effect of flipped classroom combined with case-based learning teaching methods in pharmacoeconomics teaching.Methods:The students majoring in clinical pharmacy in 2019 were selected as the study subjects,and the cost-effectiveness analysis of different dosage forms of Yinzhihuang in the treatment of neonatal jaundice was selected as the teaching case.The flipped classroom combined with case-based learning teaching method was used to carry out theoretical teaching to the students.After the course,questionnaires were distributed through the Sojump platform to evaluate the teaching effect.Results:The results of the questionnaire showed that 85.71%of the students believed that the flipped classroom combined with case-based learning teaching method was helpful in mobilizing the learning enthusiasm and initiative,and improving the comprehensive application ability of the knowledge of pharmacoeconomics.92.86%of the students think that it is conducive to the understanding and memorization of learning content,as well as the cultivation of teamwork,communication,etc.Conclusion:Flipped classroom combined with case-based learning teaching method can improve students’knowledge mastery,thinking skills,and practical application skills,as well as optimize and improve teachers’teaching levels.

Analysis of the Application Value of Virtual Reality Combined with Flipped Classroom Teaching Mode in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Teaching

Objective:To analyze the value of using virtual reality combined with the flipped classroom teaching model in teaching cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR).Methods:Two classes of our nursing program were randomly selected for the study from September 2022 to September 2023,Class A(52 students,conventional teaching method)and Class B(52 students,virtual reality combined with flipped classroom teaching mode).The assessment scores and independent learning ability scores of the students in the two classes were compared.Results:CPR theory and operation scores,passing rate,and independent learning ability scores of Class B were higher than those of Class A(P<0.05).Conclusion:the use of virtual reality combined with the flipped classroom teaching mode in CPR teaching is conducive to the improvement of students’assessment scores and independent learning ability.

The Application of“Problem-Based Learning+Flipped Classroom”Teaching Model in Bilingual Education

This study focuses on the application of the“PBL(problem-based learning)+Flipped Classroom”teaching model in bilingual education,aiming to explore its potential to enhance the quality and effectiveness of bilingual teaching.PBL emphasizes learning through the resolution of real-world problems,while the Flipped Classroom advocates that students acquire basic knowledge through self-study before class,dedicating class time to in-depth discussions and practical activities.The integration of these two teaching models in bilingual education aims to stimulate students’interest in learning,improve their autonomous learning abilities,enhance critical thinking,and foster cross-cultural communication skills.Through literature review,case analysis,and empirical research,this study first examines the current applications and challenges of PBL and the Flipped Classroom in bilingual education.Subsequently,it elaborates on the specific implementation steps of the“PBL+Flipped Classroom”teaching model in bilingual education,including problem design,preview material provision,cooperative learning,classroom activities,and language support.A comparative experiment is then conducted to analyze the impact of this teaching model on students’learning motivation,academic performance,and cross-cultural communication skills.The results indicate that the“PBL+Flipped Classroom”teaching model significantly improves students’learning motivation and participation,enhances academic performance,and effectively boosts their cross-cultural communication skills.Furthermore,this model aids in cultivating students’autonomous learning abilities and critical thinking,providing an innovative and effective approach to bilingual education.This study offers new ideas and insights for the field of bilingual education,which is of great significance for promoting the innovation and development of bilingual teaching models.

Application of Cooperative Learning and Flipped Classrooms in University Basketball Courses in China

This study investigates the application of the teaching model combining cooperative learning and flipped classrooms in university basketball courses in China.By analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of the traditional basketball teaching model and students’satisfaction with the course,the necessity of implementing cooperative learning and flipped classrooms is proposed.The study planned in detail the implementation strategies before class,in the classroom,and after class,and compared them with the control group through an experimental design.The experimental results showed that the new teaching mode demonstrated significant advantages in terms of learning outcomes,student satisfaction,and teacher evaluation.This study provides a valuable reference for the future reform of the physical education curriculum.

This paper attempts to discuss the features of teacher talk in EFL classroom, mainly of NNS(non-native speaker) teachers and the implications and suggestions of how to make teacher talk more appropriate and stimulative.

English teachers mainly pass on knowledge through teacher talk in China. This paper focuses on the analysis of characteristics of teacher talk and discusses some ways to make teacher talk more comprehensible for learners' input. It has been concluded that with conscious improvement or exploration on teacher talk in practice, teachers can greatly enhance their teacher talk and make an effective combination between teacher talk and comprehensible input.
