The Effects of Work Ethics, Transformational and Transactional Leadership on Work Performance of Teachers

This study aimed to analyze the effect of the work ethics, transformational, and transactional leadership style on teacher performance. The experiment was conducted in public high school No. 112 Jakarta. A total of 50 teachers were included as samples, where they were given the questionnaires to be filled by self-rating. Data were analyzed with multiple linear regression model and processed with SPSS version 20. Results showed that transformational leadership, transactional leadership and work ethics have positive and significant impacts on teacher performance both simultaneously and individually. 展开更多

The study examined the status of senior secondary schools’students’achievement in Civic Education and English Language in Osun State.It also investigated the Civic Education and English Language teachers’characteristics in the state and determined the teaching styles of Civic Education and English Language teachers in the study areas and finally assessed the influence of teachers’characteristics and teaching styles on students’achievement in secondary schools Civic Education and English Language.The study adopted Discriminant Analysis.The study sample consisted of 600 senior secondary school students,30 Civics teachers,and 30 English Language teachers that were selected using multi-stage sampling procedure.Four instruments were constructed and validated before use.Three research questions were asked and answered while one hypothesis was tested and verified.The results among others showed that more than 50%of the students that participated in the study had high status of achievement in Civic Education while more than 40%of English Language students that participated in the study had low status of achievement.The study also showed that teachers’characteristics pertinent to both Civic Education teachers and English Language teachers were,effective discipline skills(Civics,M=1.20,SD=0.407;English,M=1.40,SD=0.498)and good communication with parents(Civics,M=1.43,SD=0.504;English,M=1.40,SD=0.498).In addition,there was significant influence of teachers’characteristics and teaching styles on students’achievement in Civics and English Language in senior secondary schools(X^2(2)=16.37,p<0.05).The study concluded that teachers’characteristics and teaching styles are major determinants of students’achievement in Civic Education and English Language. 展开更多

This study mainly discusses the relationship between middle school teachers’mental health and work stress in Guangzhou.This study uses questionnaire survey method to examine 237 teachers in Guangzhou,and adopts SPSS26.0 to conduct independent sample t-test,ANOVA,correlation analysis,and regression analysis to draw the conclusion.The results show that:(1)The work pressure of middle school teachers in Guangzhou is above the medium level,and their mental health is at the middle level.(2)Under the influence of different gender,position,age,teaching years,and teaching objects,the pressure of middle school teachers is different.(3)There is a significant positive correlation between teachers’work stress and the dimensions of self-confidence loss and social dysfunction of mental health.(4)Work stress can effectively predict the level of mental health.Therefore,we need to understand the pressure sources of middle school teachers to develop measures to alleviate the pressure of teachers and improve the mental health of middle school teachers. 展开更多

In the past few decades,there have been eminent interests in reading performance as essential means for language input.In view of that,extensive studies have been conducted to explore the factors that affect reading performance from various aspects.In the cognitive psychology field,some studies have examined the relationship between field dependent-field independent(FD-FI)cognitive styles and working memory capacity(WMC)on English reading,respectively.However,only limited studies focused on the correlation among FD-FI cognitive styles,WMC and English reading performance.Therefore,this study was conducted to explain these correlations.A total of 42 intermediate“English as Foreign Language”(EFL)learners participated in this study.In order to measure the learners’FD-FI cognitive style,WMC and English reading performance,the Cognitive Style Figures Test,reading span task and the International English Language Test System(IELTS)reading test were adopted,respectively.Data analyses such as Pearson’s correlation,independent sample t-test and two-way ANOVA were done using Statistical Package for the Social Science(SPSS)version 25.The results suggested a statistically significant correlation between FD-FI cognitive style and WM with English reading performance,respectively.The main effect of WM and FD-FI cognitive style is significant while the interaction between them is not significant in reading performance. 展开更多

Work style i.e. day work and shift work, cigarette smoking, status of stress and stress coping were obtained by questionnaires by well-trained medical staff. A total of 227 men (7.0%) and 339 women (6.6%) were shift workers, and 1346 men (41.6%) and 649 women (12.7%) were current smokers. Work style was significantly linked to cigarette smoking, stress and stress coping after adjusting for age in women. In addition, the level of stress coping in subjects with cigarette smoking was significantly lower than that in subjects without cigarette smoking even after adjusting for age in women. However, these associations were not noted in men. Work style was critically associated with cigarette smoking in Japanese female workers. 展开更多

Why Did the Reform Fail?The Impact of the Personnel System Reform on Teachers in Jia County of China

Over recent years,the reform-driven development of education has been one primary idea of the Chinese government under the leadership of Xi Jinping.Above all,the reform of the personnel system,closely related to the interests of teachers,becomes the most sensitive link in the educational reform.To root out the restriction of education system on teachers and enhance their enthusiasm for work,Jia County carried out a reform of teacher personnel system from 2013 to 2016,including breaking the hierarchical restriction on teachers’administrative promotion,decentralizing the power of confirming the teachers’professional titles,eliminating the teachers with the worst performances,practicing performance salary,and other measures.In this study,we tracked 627 teachers regarding their work enthusiasm and stress during the three-year reform,analyzed the data through the Hierarchical Linear Model(HLM),and found that:(1)The teachers’enthusiasm for work increased over time,but did not significantly change with the consideration of the influence of the principals’leadership in teaching.The personnel system reform aiming at motivating teachers failed to work as expected.(2)The teachers’work stress still increased year by year.Therefore,this study concludes that the reform in Jia County failed to fulfill its goals and that the vigorous top-down reform did not lead to ideal results.A reason might be that the reform damaged the vested interests of teachers who represent the deep-rooted nepotism typically in the Chinese education community.Reforms of educational personnel system should give schools a full play regarding educational governance in the future. 展开更多

在“双一流”建设背景下,工作资源是影响教师队伍素质提升和职业发展的关键维度,关系着高等教育高质量发展的成与败。结合工作要求—资源理论,以南京市3所“双一流”建设高校为例,运用混合研究方法揭示高校教师工作资源的发展现状、影... 在“双一流”建设背景下,工作资源是影响教师队伍素质提升和职业发展的关键维度,关系着高等教育高质量发展的成与败。结合工作要求—资源理论,以南京市3所“双一流”建设高校为例,运用混合研究方法揭示高校教师工作资源的发展现状、影响因素及其现实困境。研究发现,高校教师的工作资源整体处于中等偏上水平,但保障型资源显著低于成长型资源;年龄、毕业学校、职称是影响高校教师工作资源的主要因素;在现实困境方面,高校教师仍然面临着职业发展机会不足、科研资源分配不平衡和生活保障不到位等问题。从完善路径来看,高校应着眼于构建发展性评价体系,大力完善科研资源分配机制,不断提高教师待遇保障,实施精细化激励政策,持续改善高校教师的工作资源状况。 展开更多

工作资源的供给水平一定程度上可以反映员工的工作状态。通过对大城市G市24949份中小学教师有效调查问卷的数据分析发现,中小学教师工作时间远超出国家法定要求,工作负担总体处于中等水平。在各类型工作负担中,教育教学型工作负担相对较... 工作资源的供给水平一定程度上可以反映员工的工作状态。通过对大城市G市24949份中小学教师有效调查问卷的数据分析发现,中小学教师工作时间远超出国家法定要求,工作负担总体处于中等水平。在各类型工作负担中,教育教学型工作负担相对较重,非教育教学型工作负担相对较轻。不同性别、学历、教龄、职称等级、任教学段等条件下,中小学教师工作负担存在显著差异。物质资源和认知资源两类工作资源对教师工作负担均有预测作用。基于此,为大城市的教师减负工作提出以下建议:树立正确的教师工作负担观念;关注不同条件教师工作负担的差异性;协调好学校管理与教育教学的关系;提高中小学教师专业素养与水平。 展开更多

目的探讨精神科护士职业倦怠、道德困境、工作投入、应对方式现状及职业倦怠与道德困境、工作投入、应对方式的相关性。方法选择2020年1月至2022年12月在驻马店市第二人民医院精神科从事护理工作的280名临床护士为研究对象。收集受试者... 目的探讨精神科护士职业倦怠、道德困境、工作投入、应对方式现状及职业倦怠与道德困境、工作投入、应对方式的相关性。方法选择2020年1月至2022年12月在驻马店市第二人民医院精神科从事护理工作的280名临床护士为研究对象。收集受试者的一般人口学资料,采用Maslach职业倦怠量表-服务行业版(MBI-HSS)、中文版护士道德困境量表(MDS-R)、Utrecht工作投入量表(UWES)、简易应对方式量表(SCSQ)分别评估精神科护士的职业倦怠、道德困境、工作投入、应对方式水平,并分析职业倦怠与道德困境、工作投入、应对方式的相关性。结果280名护士的MBI-HSS得分为(66.94±13.67)分,MDS-R得分为(93.14±26.74)分,UWES得分为(57.51±12.09)分,积极应对得分为(1.69±0.52)分,消极应对得分为(1.53±0.50)分。女性护士的MBI-HSS、UWES得分显著低于男性护士,积极应对得分显著高于男性护士(P<0.05);不同性别护士的MDS-R、消极应对得分比较差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。26~39岁、≥40岁护士的MBI-HSS得分显著高于≤25岁护士,积极应对得分显著低于≤25岁护士(P<0.05);≥40岁护士消极应对得分显著高于≤25岁护士(P<0.05),26~39岁与≤25岁护士消极应对得分比较差异无统计学意义(P>0.05);不同年龄护士的MDS-R、UWES得分比较差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。受教育程度为本科护士的MBI-HSS得分显著高于专科护士,积极应对、消极应对得分显著低于专科护士(P<0.05);不同受教育程度护士的MDS-R、UWES得分比较差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。护师、主管护师及以上职称人员的MBI-HSS得分显著高于护士职称、UWES得分显著低于护士职称人员(P<0.05);主管护师及以上职称人员的消极应对得分显著高于护士职称人员,积极应对得分显著低于护士职称人员(P<0.05);护师与护士职称人员的消极应对得分和积极应对得分比较差异无统计学意义(P>0.05);不同职称护士的MDS-R得分比较差异均无统计学意义(P>0.05)。工作年限≥10 a护士的MBI-HSS得分、消极应对得分显著高于≤5 a护士,UWES得分、积极应对得分显著低于≤5 a护士(P<0.05);工作年限6~9 a护士的UWES得分显著低于≤5 a护士(P<0.05),工作年限6~9 a与≤5 a护士的MBI-HSS得分、MDS-R得分、消极应对得分、积极应对得分比较差异无统计学意义(P>0.05);不同工作年限护士的MDS-R得分比较差异均无统计学意义(P>0.05)。Pearson相关性分析结果显示,MDS-R、消极应对得分与MBI-HSS得分呈正相关(r=0.327、0.318,P<0.05),UMES、积极应对得分与MBI-HSS得分呈负相关(r=-0.461、-0.284,P<0.05)。多元线性回归分析结果显示,工作投入、积极应对、消极应对是精神科护士职业倦怠的影响因素(P<0.05)。结论精神科护士具有中度的职业倦怠以及工作投入水平,道德困境处于中低水平,更倾向于积极应对。工作投入、积极应对、消极应对是精神科护士职业倦怠的影响因素。 展开更多

为探讨幼儿园教师专业学习共同体对工作投入的影响及其作用机制,采用《幼儿园教师专业学习共同体量表》《工作投入量表》《教学效能感量表》和《职场友谊量表》对广东省的641名幼儿园教师进行调查。结果发现:幼儿园专业学习共同体、职... 为探讨幼儿园教师专业学习共同体对工作投入的影响及其作用机制,采用《幼儿园教师专业学习共同体量表》《工作投入量表》《教学效能感量表》和《职场友谊量表》对广东省的641名幼儿园教师进行调查。结果发现:幼儿园专业学习共同体、职场友谊、教学效能感和工作投入呈现两两正相关;幼儿园专业学习共同体能直接预测工作投入,且能通过三条间接路径影响工作投入:职场友谊的中介作用、教学效能感的中介作用、职场友谊和教学效能感的链式中介作用。因此,幼儿园管理者应营造教师专业学习共同体的开放合作环境,激励教师协作共享;搭建非正式沟通平台,发挥职场友谊的积极作用;提升教学效能感,激发教师工作热情。 展开更多
