Challenges and Teaching Reform Strategies in Vocational College Engineering Training Courses

With the rapid development of vocational education,engineering training has become a crucial course for cultivating highly skilled technical professionals,highlighting its importance.However,vocational college engineering training courses still face numerous challenges during the actual teaching process,which affect the effectiveness of course teaching and the enhancement of students’engineering competence.This article thoroughly analyzes the main problems existing in current engineering training course teaching,focusing on four aspects:students’cognitive differences,inadequate course development,poor course adaptability,and limited teaching resources.Based on this analysis and previous research findings,targeted strategies are proposed,including enhancing students’course cognition,clarifying course positioning,improving course adaptability,and optimizing the allocation of teaching resources.Furthermore,this article preliminarily verifies the effectiveness of some reform strategies through a small-scale teaching experiment.This study aims to provide theoretical guidance and practical reference for enhancing the teaching quality of vocational college engineering training courses.

Hybrid Teaching Reform of Veterinary Microbiology Based on the Combination of Virtual Simulation and Problem-Based Learning

The Veterinary Microbiology course is centered around the diagnosis and testing of pathogenic microorganisms,with the core value of“moral education and character development.”It reconstructs multidimensional teaching resources by integrating disciplinary achievements with clinical cases and implements a hybrid teaching approach combining virtual simulation and problem-based learning(PBL)through the“three stages+four models+three reflections”framework.Dual-qualification teachers employ various teaching methods,create a“six-in-one”model for ideological and political education,and conduct formative assessments based on the principles of diversified objectives and process emphasis.The hybrid teaching reform addresses issues such as fragmented knowledge,insufficient class hours,weak animal disease diagnostic abilities among students,limited application and expansion of knowledge points,and students’lack of proactive critical thinking skills.The application of hybrid teaching has shown significant advantages and effectiveness,providing a reference for teaching reform in similar microbiology courses.

Empowerment of Artificial Intelligence in Teaching Reform of Ideological and Political Courses in Universities

The rapid development of artificial intelligence(AI)technology has brought new opportunities and challenges to the field of education.As an important link in cultivating students’comprehensive quality and socialist core values,it is necessary to carry out continuous teaching reform and innovation in ideological and political courses in colleges and universities.Based on the concept of AI empowering the teaching reform of ideological and political courses,this study aims to explore how to use artificial intelligence technology to improve the teaching effect and learning experience of ideological and political courses.The research first analyzes the application status of artificial intelligence technology in education,and then discusses the application potential of artificial intelligence in ideological and political courses.Subsequently,the teaching reform strategy of ideological and political courses based on artificial intelligence is proposed,including the use of virtual reality technology,the application of intelligent auxiliary teaching tools to enhance personalized teaching,and the construction of an intelligent learning management system.Lastly,a case analysis is conducted to explore the implementation effect of the teaching reform of ideological and political courses in universities.The results showed that the application of artificial intelligence technology can effectively improve the teaching effect and learning experience of ideological and political courses,and provide new ideas and methods for the teaching reform of ideological and political courses in universities.

Research on Teaching Reform of Landscape Engineering Course based on the Concept of CDIO

With the advancement of new engineering construction,it is urgent to explore the teaching reform of professional courses in the cultivation of landscape architecture professionals in combination with industry needs.In order to solve the problems existing in the current Landscape Engineering course,such as traditional teaching methods,insufficient student interest,lack of practical links,and the disconnection between teaching content and industry demand.This study discusses the teaching reform of the Landscape Engineering course based on the CDIO(Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate)concept,aiming at solving the problems mentioned.Through the integration of CDIO mode,the core competencies that students should have are defined,including environmental landscape design and planning,innovative thinking,project management,and so on.The research emphasizes project-driven learning,interdisciplinary knowledge integration,and practical skill training,and puts forward strategies such as teacher training and professional development support to ensure the implementation of the reform.The purpose of the reform was to improve students’professional ability and employment competitiveness,promote the improvement of education quality and the sustainable development of the industry,and exert a positive impact on landscape engineering education and industry progress.

Rethinking of Teaching Reform of Land Resource Management Discipline in Local Normal Colleges and Universities under the New Situation

The Agriculture and Forestry discipline in local normal colleges and universities plays an important role in cultivating talents and higher education to serve the local"agriculture,rural areas and farmers".The Land Resource Management discipline is a science that studies the use,allocation,and management of land resources and assets,and has comprehensive and practical features.In the context of the proposal of the rural revitalization strategy and the establishment of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the State Council,the importance of cultivating land resource management talents who understands both land planning and urban planning is self-evident,and the teaching reform of Land Resource Management discipline is receiving much attention.Taking the Land Resource Management discipline of Jiangxi Normal University,a key normal university in Jiangxi Province as an example,combining the characteristics of the discipline setting and the development process,we analyzed the existing problems in its development,so as to provide recommendations for the teaching reform of Land Resource Management discipline in local normal colleges and universities.

Reform and Practice of University Physics Experimental Teaching Based on OBE Concept

Aiming at the problems of unclear teaching objectives,obsolete content,and single method in the experimental teaching of university physics at our university,we have implemented a series of reform initiatives.It mainly includes clarifying the student-centered teaching objectives,optimizing the experimental content,innovating the teaching methods,improving the assessment and evaluation system,and improving the experimental conditions[1,2].After the implementation of the reform,the learning effectiveness of students has been significantly improved,the teaching level of teachers has been significantly enhanced,the curriculum system has been optimized,the efficiency of teaching management has been enhanced,and social recognition has been strengthened.Practice shows that the teaching reform based on the outcome-based education concept effectively improves the quality of university physics experimental teaching and lays the foundation for cultivating innovative talents.

Scientific curriculum evaluation methods are critical for achieving talent training objectives.The Sydney Accord,one of the three major engineering education certification agreements,focuses on the training of“engineering technologists.”Its logical system and three core principles align well with the connotation development of professional construction in China’s higher vocational colleges,offering significant insights for promoting reform and development in engineering education in Chinese colleges and universities.By incorporating the core principles,elements,and graduate quality defined in the Sydney Accord and focusing on the evaluation of curriculum achievement against“graduation requirements,”the quality of vocational education can be enhanced,making it an important direction for future teaching reforms in vocational education.

There is an urgent need for high-quality talents with ideological and moral character for the development of higher education and the cultivation of English majors who meet the requirements of the times.The course reform in English majors from the ideological and political perspective is an important way to improve the comprehensive quality and moral values of students,which helps to cultivate English talents with social responsibility and innovative abilities.This paper analyzes the problems in the current courses through literature review and field research,such as the lack of ideological and political perspective and low interest of students in ideological and political content.Based on these issues,taking the course“Comprehensive English”as an example,various teaching stages were practiced from the aspects of learning objectives,learning content,learning situation,implementation ideas,implementation effects,and teaching evaluation.Additionally,some suggestions are proposed,such as integrating ideological and political content into the entire process of teaching.The teaching staff needs to possess high-level English teaching ability and ideological and political perspective,standardize the evaluation system,and integrate epistemology into the evaluation process of ideological and political education,in order to promote in-depth research and exploration of ideological and political education of English majors.

Exploration and Analysis of the Reform Methods of Russian Teaching in Universities and Colleges Based on Flipped Classroom

This paper briefly analyzes the current situation of Russian teaching in universities and colleges, and based on the advantages of ??ipped classroom, and puts forward strategies for the reform of Russian teaching in universities and colleges, and hopes to provide suggestions for relevant educators.

Epidemiology and outcome of Crohn's disease in a teaching hospital in Riyadh

AIM: To know the epidemiology and outcome of Crohn's disease at King Khalid University Hospital, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and to compare the results from other world institutions.METHODS: A retrospective analysis of patients seen for 20 years (between 1983 and 2002). Individual case records were reviewed with regard to history, clinical, findings from colonoscopy, biopsies, small bowel enema, computerized tomography scan, treatment and outcome.RESULTS: Seventy-seven patients with Crohn's disease were revisited, 13% presented the disease in the first 10 years and 87% over the last 10 years. Thirty-three patients (42.9%) were males and 44 (57.1%) were females. Age ranged from 11-70 years (mean of 25.3+11.3 years). Ninety-two (92%) were Saudi. The mean duration of symptoms was 26+34.7 mo. The mean annual incidence of the disease over the first 10 years was 0.32:100 000 and 1.66:100 000 over the last 10 years with a total mean annual incidence of 0.94:100 000 over the last 20 years. The chief clinical features included abdominal pain, diarrhea, weight loss,anorexia, rectal bleeding and palpable mass. Colonoscopic findings were abnormal in 58 patients (76%) showing mostly ulcerations and inflammation of the colon. Eighty nine percent of patients showed nonspecific inflammation with chronic inflammatory cells and half of these patients revealed the presence of granulomas and granulations on bowel biopsies. Similarly, 69 (89%) of small bowel enema results revealed ulcerations (49%), narrowing of the bowel lumen (42%), mucosal thickening (35%) and cobblestone appearance (35%). CT scan showed abnormality in 68 (88%) of patients with features of thickened loops (66%) and lymphadenopathy (37%). Seventy-eight percent of patients had small and large bowel disease, 16% had small bowel involvement and only 6% had colitis alone. Of the total 55 (71%) patients treated with steroids at some point in their disease history, a satisfactory response to therapy was seen in 28 patients (51%) while 27 (49%) showed recurrences of the condition with mild to moderate symptoms of abdominal pain and diarrhea most of which were due to poor compliance to medication. Seven patients (33%) remained with active Crohn's disease. Nine (12%) patients underwent surgery with resections of some parts of bowel, 2 (2.5%) had steroid side effects, 6 (8%) with perianal Crohn's disease and five (6.5%) with fistulae.CONCLUSION: The epidemiological characteristics of Crohn's disease among Saudi patients are comparable to those reported from other parts of the world. However the incidence of Crohn's disease in our hospital increased over the last 10 years. The anatomic distribution of the disease is different from other world institutions with less isolated colonic affection.
