On Listening Comprehension and Shorthand in the Process of Teaching Business English Interpretation

In recent years the market demand for interpreters is gradually increase. interpretation teaching make more and morepopular. How to improve students’abilities of listening comprehension and shorthand made interpretation teachers must face anda new subject.

On Interpretation Teaching Strategies from the Perspective of Skopos Theory

In order to strengthen communications and cooperation with various fields of other countries, the demand for translators and interpreters has increased dramatically. At the same time, the quantity and quality of translators will be faced with more and more requirements of the employment market. Therefore, as a compulsory and main course for English majors in many colleges and universities, interpretation teaching has been challenged for a long time. How to train a great number of qualified interpreters rapidly and effectively has become an urgent issue. Based on reviewing the theory of Skopos theory and analyzing the status quo of interpretation teaching for undergraduate English majors, some new thoughts for interpretation teaching are proposed.

Research on the Implementation of Flipped Classroom in the World Economy Course

In the context by which the World Economy course is restricted by the traditional teaching model,the flipped classroom model can solve the issues in the teaching process.The flipped classroom can systematically strengthen teacher-student interaction during and after classes,optimize students’learning habits,improve students’learning effect,and effectively provide timely feedback on the teaching effect.Therefore,the World Economy course should implement flipped classrooms and put forward corresponding safeguard measures,including actively changing the role of teachers,effectively guiding students to participate in flipped classrooms,equipped with sufficient and high-quality software and hardware equipment,as well as promoting the scientific evaluation of flipped classroom teaching effect.

Effect of Sight Translation on Consecutive Interpreting and Teaching Strategies

Sight Translation(ST) has long been considered as a useful exercise for acquiring interpreting skills. However, little studies have been done to prove how the skills acquired from ST can be transferred to other modes of interpreting, for instance,Consecutive Interpreting(CI). In this study, the sequencing of ST and CI teaching is explored to proof that starting ST teaching first is more logical. Gile's effort model is used to explain the similarities and differences of ST and CI and to set up possible effect of ST on CI. Some teaching strategies of transferring ST skills to CI are proposed.

A Review of Interpreting Teaching Studies in China(2008-2017)

With the rapid development of interpretation training,studies on interpreting teaching are becoming more and more signif-icant both theoretically and practically.This paper reviews 106 papers on interpreting teaching from 2008 to 2017 from the per-spectives of publication time,source,research method and theme.Through bibliometric analysis,this paper draws the followingconclusions:(1)Domestic research on interpreting teaching has developed steadily in the past decade.(2)The majority studies fo-cus on teaching methods and strategies,general description of interpreting teaching,teaching model and teaching materials.(3)Current research has made some achievements,but room is still left for more comprehensive research topics,more scientific re-search methods,more specific research content,and more complete research objects.Based on the status quo of interpreting teach-ing studies,this paper proposes some implications for future studies.

Education on Qualified Interpreters—Strategies of Cultivation on Psychological Quality

In the modern era, educators have to attach importance on the requirements of talent quality training in the 21st century and make unremitting efforts to meet these requirements. How to help students overcome state fright and adapt to the actual scene of interpreting has been a major concern for professors and teachers. Psychological quality, which is as important as other interpretation skills, such as listening, is a premise of a successful and qualified interpretation. This essay will analyze how to educate a qualified interpreter in terms of psychological quality by various aspects, including putting more emphasis on bilingual learning, enriching students’ cultural connotations, enhancing teachers’ comprehensive quality, cultivating students’ English public speaking ability, creating authentic interpretation environments, improving students’ adaptability of different interpretation environments, and using other practical skills.
