The Effectiveness of Group Cooperative Learning Method in Badminton Teaching in Colleges and Universities

In college badminton teaching,teachers utilize the group cooperative learning method,which not only helps to improve students’badminton skill level but also cultivates their teamwork spirit,communication skills,and self-management ability unconsciously.In view of this,this paper mainly describes the significance of applying the group cooperative learning method in college badminton teaching,analyzes the current problems in college badminton teaching,and aims to discover effective development strategies for group cooperative learning method in college badminton teaching in order to improve the effectiveness of college badminton teaching.

The Application of Group Work Method to Oral English Teaching

Group work method plays an important role in oral English teaching,and appropriate application of the group activities to oral English class can improve students'oral English effectively.This paper focus on the relationship between group work and oral English teaching,the principles,merits and the types of group works in oral English class.The aim is to improve the efficiency of oral English teaching and students'oral ability effectively.

Teaching Writing Through Small Group Conferencing

In view of the fact that most college English teachers in China invest a great deal of time and effort responding to students’ writing, but find students improve so little in their writing skills, I venture to put forward an alternative way of teaching writing in the paper, that is, teaching writing through small group conferencing. Compared with the traditional teaching methods small group conferencing has following advantages: (1) Saving evaluation time; (2) Providing better feedback; (3) Helping students critique their writing, etc. Since many empirical studies and teaching practices demonstrate that small group conferencing is an effective and efficient way of teaching writing, we have good reason to believe that it will become widespread in the college English teaching in China. \;

A Triangular Model for Social Work Groups： Teaching the Forgotten Practice Modality

Social Work students typically enroll in the required practice methods courses that are specified by the Council on Social Work Education. At least in the majority of BSW Programs, these practice methods courses are divided into micro-level and macro-level sequences. Individual and family systems are covered in the former sequence, while communities and organizations are the systems of focus in the latter sequence. The group system is often minimized and/or completely ignored in the process, even though there may be some reference made to groups in both practice methods sequences. Consequently, the mezzo-level system of groups is only given ＂lip-service＂ in the dyadic division of micro and macro-level practice. Furthermore, students often do not have the opportunity to practice in group settings, much less, develop competency in these professional venues. This paper describes a teaching format used in a BSW Program in an effort to ensure student competency as required in a Groups Practice course. The triangular model includes： （1） Classroom teaching of theory; （2） Practice of group dynamics; and （3） Supervision by instructors and MSW students.

A Study on Group Work in College English Collaborative Teaching

Nowadays, collaborative teaching has become an original and effective teaching strategy, which has been generally accepted in many countries. It is an effective means to cultivate and train students＇ language using ability and their autonomous learning ability. The core of collaborative teaching is making students accomplish a common learning goal via group work. In view of the current situation of college English teaching, this paper has explored issues on the group work in collaborative teaching, including group work designing, group work implementing and group work evaluating. On the Study of Cooperative Learning in English Reading Teaching

In this era of information explosion, reading has become one of the most important basic skills to obtain the information. With the globalization of information and business, people pay more and more attention to English reading. English reading, as one of the four skills of language learning, plays an important role in the English learning. In a sense, English reading, together with listening comprehension, speaking, and writing, is an important skill and holds a crucial status in learning the English language. Cooperative learning is a kind of teaching theory and strategy system based on group. The theory of cooperative learning which is applied in English reading class in senior high school and change the traditional teacher- centered teaching type. Cooperative learning as a breakthrough and complement against traditional classroom instruction is an efficient teaching approach, which can promote learner's cognitive ability and improve their competence to use language. This paper discusses how to apply the above mentioned theory to the learning practices in order to achieve better English reading and improve the reading achievement in college schools.

Team management in college English classroom teaching

With the rapid development and furthering of higher education, most Chinese colleges have carried out large-scale enrollment program, which is a necessary improvement toward higher education reform. Meanwhile, the increasing number of students has posed new problems and requirements for the old teaching method： the English teachers are facing more students and larger classes. In Zhejiang University, City College （ZUCC） the credit system and course selection has challenged the English teachers on a higher level. Every English teacher is facing classes of more than 40 students from various departments with sharp contrast among individual students in their English proficiency level and local background. How can every student actively participate in teaching activity so as to achieve better performance in English class？ Many teachers, therefore, have adopted team activity and cooperative teaching method to stimulate student participation in class. Inspired by the management theory to optimize student groups into independent teams, the concept of team construction and team management has been introduced into College English Teaching in ZUCC, which has given new meaning to team activity--it will become an interdisciplinary teaching method with its own feature.

Crowdsourcing-Based Framework for Teaching Quality Evaluation and Feedback Using Linguistic 2-Tuple

Crowdsourcing is widely used in various fields to collect goods and services from large participants.Evaluating teaching quality by collecting feedback from experts or students after class is not only delayed but also not accurate.In this paper,we present a crowdsourcing-based framework to evaluate teaching quality in the classroom using a weighted average operator to aggregate information from students’questionnaires described by linguistic 2-tuple terms.Then we define crowd grade based on similarity degree to distinguish contribution from different students and minimize the abnormal students’impact on the evaluation.The crowd grade would be updated at the end of each feedback so it can guarantee the evaluation accurately.Moreover,a simulated case is shown to illustrate how to apply this framework to assess teaching quality in the classroom.Finally,we developed a prototype and carried out some experiments on a series of real questionnaires and two sets of modified data.The results show that teachers can locate the weak points of teaching and furthermore to identify the abnormal students to improve the teaching quality.Meanwhile,our approach provides a strong tolerance for the abnormal student to make the evaluation more accurate.

MOOC/SPOC Blended Teaching Practice on Software Engineering Using“Integration of Physical Classroom,Online Classroom and Practical Classroom”

With the vigorous development of MOOC and SPOC,software engineering teachers are exploring how to use first-class online resources to reconstruct the software engineering teaching system.This study proposed a project-driven group discussion classroom teaching reform,which is characterized by“the trinity integration of physical classroom,online classroom,and practical classroom”.The reform employs heuristic and case-based teaching methods,in which,the curriculum is supplemented by smart teaching tools and takes discussion teaching as the core.The teaching process emphasizes the accumulation of multi-stage study results and adopts smart teaching method innovation.In this study,we also build practical classrooms with top software companies.We encourage students to participate in the classroom and take the initiative to practice through“discussion groups”“enterprise practice”,and“cloud training”,which improves learning effectiveness and enhances the ability to analyze problems,design systems,and innovate in actual software projects.

An Exploration of Teaching Class of Mixed Ability

There has been a long time of debate between the two teaching approaches of homogenous grouping and heterogeneous grouping.Here in the essay,we explored both of the two teaching approaches in Yunnan Province of China whereas the puzzle lies in the question of which method can achieve a relatively-better result in English classes of Yunnan.Some possible solutions are promoted based on the data and analysis collected from a survey.

Research and Practice of Hybrid Teaching for Software Testing based on Interactive Learning

Practical Use of Moran＇s Theoretical Frameworks in Teaching Culture A Case Study in an EFL University Reading and Writing Class＊

Teaching target culture has been widely acknowledged as an indispensible component in the overall foreign language education. This paper presents a feasible way to effectively integrate cultural teaching into traditional classroom instruction by using Moran＇s theoretical frameworks, namely, the ＂Cultural Knowings Framework＂ and ＂Experiential Learning Cycle＂, as the foundation and guidance of the course design. It highlights the combination of teaching culture with the training of the basic language skills, adding a cultural dimension to the language learning. This teaching method can fully arouse the students＇ attention to cultural learning and provide more meaningful activities to physically and mentally engage students both in class and after class. By going through a series of assigned tasks individually or collectively, the students not only obtain the desired cultural knowledge but strengthen their language ability as well as other skills pivotal and necessary for becoming independent and lifetime learners.
