Factors of motivation, such as...The purpose of this study is to uncover factors of motivation among account executives in a telecommunication company after the improvement of sales commission plan program in year 2014. Factors of motivation, such as monetary reward, recognition, affiliation, job security, and work environment that influence account executives motivation have been highlighted. Quantitative method was used in this study with the help of questionnaire data collection. The questionnaires were distributed among one of the telecommunication company account executives. The study found that there are significant differences in motivation level between gender, age, year of service, salary, and workplace of account executives. Monetary reward, job security, and work environment were found as the significant drivers to motivate account executives. The study also found that improvement on public recognition and affiliation factors failed to bring positive impact towards account executives motivation. Consistently, the findings can conclude that there is a relationship between account executives and sales commission plan that can lead to increase in motivation. Despite the positive result, the study can suggest the company to improve its bottom-line where sales commission plan program needs further revision in accordance with account executives factors of motivation.展开更多

In this essence, fighting and eliminating any means of corruption in the public and private companies have been one of the key challenges in the long run. The globalization of businesses has somehow led to an increase in the number of unethical conduct and hazardous corruption. In the urge to enliven ethics and integrity in a company and among employees, the whole business processes and stakeholders should position code of ethics and integrity at its highest standard. However, can ethics and integrity really increase the company's reputation, strengthening its business operations and sustainability, and deliver trust amongst employees and employers? The objective of this study is to analyze the perceptions of employees on issues pertaining ethics and integrity. The study has been conducted in one of the giant telecommunication companies in Malaysia where a sample of 7,056 employees were the participants involved in the survey. The study has used questionnaires to collect data. The data have then been analysed using the SPSS data analysis software. The findings explained that employees view the company as an ethical place to work where the finance department is deemed to have the highest level of integrity. While in matters of corruption risk areas, there are still practices of bribery. It is also founded that a majority of respondents about 93% agree that the company's initiatives are effective in building business integrity and that the level of business ethics and integrity has improved over the last two years. Running a business with ethics and integrity while selecting the fight business partners will create a corporation of ethics, integrity, and anti-corruption.展开更多
Several mobile telecommunication companies(MTCs),such as AT&T,Verizon,and China Mobile,are investing in content services to drive continued growth as the telecom industry has become saturated.In this study,we inve...Several mobile telecommunication companies(MTCs),such as AT&T,Verizon,and China Mobile,are investing in content services to drive continued growth as the telecom industry has become saturated.In this study,we investigate the competition between two MTCs,one of which(MTC 1)provides both data and content services,while the other(MTC 2)provides only data services.We propose a two-stage game-theoretic model to analyze the two MTCs'optimal pricing strategies for data service and content service as well as the investment strategy for the content service.Our analysis reveals that a higher value of value-added service offered by MTC 1 will incentivize it to raise its subscription fee for the content service and induce both MTCs to reduce the prices of their data services,which results in an increased demand for the content service and a decreased demand for MTC 2's data service.As MTC 1 invests further in the quality of the content service,it would benefit from increasing the subscription fee for the content service,and the two MTCs should increase the subscription fee for the data service.However,compared to the decisions in the scenario where MTC 1 does not provide content service,the provision of this service by MTC 1 leads to a lower subscription fee for the two MTCs'data services,an increase in the demand for MTC 1's data service,and a decrease in the demand for MTC 2's data service.These findings reveal that regularly monitoring market competition,as well as adjusting pricing strategies based on market scenarios and the value of services,can enhance competitiveness and long-term profitability for MTCs.展开更多
