By calculation and test, it is indicated that the error resulting from this method is about 0. 5% of the full scale and less than TSl's. By using this method we can set up the calibration curve according to the measurement range and the diameter of the hot wire at a certain accuracy.展开更多

The test is based on the asymptotic behavior of the empirical process, which is much more complex than in the classical case. Applications to simulated data and discussion of the obtained results are provided. This is, to the best of our knowledge, the first result providing a general goodness of fit test for non-weakly dependent data.展开更多
A data processing method was proposed for eliminating the end restraint in triaxial tests of soil.A digital image processing method was used to calculate the local deformations and local stresses for any region on the...A data processing method was proposed for eliminating the end restraint in triaxial tests of soil.A digital image processing method was used to calculate the local deformations and local stresses for any region on the surface of triaxial soil specimens.The principle and implementation of this digital image processing method were introduced as well as the calculation method for local mechanical properties of soil specimens.Comparisons were made between the test results calculated by the data from both the entire specimen and local regions,and it was found that the deformations were more uniform in the middle region compared with the entire specimen.In order to quantify the nonuniform characteristic of deformation,the non-uniformity coefficients of strain were defined and calculated.Traditional and end-lubricated triaxial tests were conducted under the same condition to investigate the effects of using local region data for deformation calculation on eliminating the end restraint of specimens.After the statistical analysis of all test results,it was concluded that for the tested soil specimen with the size of 39.1 mm×80 mm,the utilization of the middle 35 mm region of traditional specimens in data processing had a better effect on eliminating end restraint compared with end lubrication.Furthermore,the local data analysis in this paper was validated through the comparisons with the test results from other researchers.展开更多

For this reason, the stability of a data buoy is of great importance. This paper describes the analysis and calculation of the stability of a data buoy which has a weight suspended from its bottom under normal working conditions and the influence of the distance from the weight to the bottom of the buoy on the 'righting' ability of the buoy when it is capsized. The paper also provides the curves which show the influence of the size of the weight and the distance from the weight to the bottom of the buoy on the 'righting' ability of the buoy. All these are of great reference value for the design and use of a data buoy at sea and for the design of similar floating bodies. The results from calculations agree with those from the model experiment.展开更多
With permanent down-hole gauges (PDGs) widely installed in oilfields around the world in recent years, a continuous stream of transient pressure data in real time is now available, which motivates a new round of res...With permanent down-hole gauges (PDGs) widely installed in oilfields around the world in recent years, a continuous stream of transient pressure data in real time is now available, which motivates a new round of research interests in further developing pressure transient processing and analysis techniques. Transient pressure measurements from PDG are characterized by long term and high volume data. These data are recorded under unconstrained circumstances, so effects due to noise, rate fluctuation and interference from other wells cannot be avoided. These effects make the measured pressure trends decline or rise and then obscure or distort the actual flow behavior, which makes subsequent analysis difficult. In this paper, the problems encountered in analysis of PDG transient pressure are investigated. A newly developed workflow for processing and analyzing PDG transient pressure data is proposed. Numerical well testing synthetic studies are performed to demonstrate these procedures. The results prove that this new technique works well and the potential for practical application looks very promising.展开更多
