In recent years, the Chinese government has launched and strongly supported a series of activities and projects to promote this strategy, but little effect has been produced. Starting from analyzing the predicament and reasons of the current strategy, the essay suggests four strategic paths: enhancing the overall strength of the country to promote the international influence of Chinese culture, strengthening cultural awareness and cultural introspection, integrating the nationality and cosmopolitan of literature and establishing a market-oriented literary translation mechanism.展开更多

The Renditions Series serves as a classical case of providing aneffective model of “literature’s overseas distribution”. The successful experience of itstranslating-cum-disseminating model can be concluded as follows: all the translatorsare from China and overseas with cross-cultural background; the selection oftranslation is stylistically far-ranging among the Mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong, and feminine literature in modern China is highly valued; translating method aims atconvoying the original literary aesthetics, and disseminating channels are manifold;the foreign recipients are common and professional readers; the eminent effects canbe proved by its considerable sales, library collections and acceptance in the targetcountries and regions. From the successful model of translation of Renditions Series, five implications can be made out for the modern Chinese literature’s “Going-global”:domestic and overseas translators cooperate well with all-round cultural identities; theselection holds onto diversification and literary character; various spreading channelsshould be broadened; target readers should be accurately located and continuouslywidened; translating and disseminating effects can be focused on and analyzed, so asto adjust and improve the corresponding sections in the model.展开更多

A top-level design for the construction of an ecological civilization, a holistic approach to socioeconomic development and the construction of an ecological civilization, the establishment and constant improvement of institutional mechanisms, and the deep combination of poverty alleviation and ecological governance provide both Chinese wisdom and Chinese solutions for the problem of the ecological environment. Environmental protection in China certainly has a long way to go, and the Chinese solution for the construction of an ecological civilization still needs to be constantly improved in practice.展开更多

The article encompasses chiefly three parts. The first part offers an overview of the debates on the discipline widely discussed by literary scholars such as Franco Moretti, David Damrosch and Emily Apter. I take issue with the harmonic co-existence of both local and global elements---and what I define as "glocality"---in literatures to exhibit the inevitable trend of the trans-cultural, supranational and cross-historical interactions among multiple centres and/or various cities especially in the twenty-first century. I thereby argue in the second part using Leung Ping Kwan (1949-2013)'s "Images of Hong Kong" (1992) and Louise Ho's two poetry pieces written in 1994 to prove how Kantian Cosmopolitan elements have deeply embedded in the poem written in a city where the West frequently interacts with the East. I conclude by stepping in further to argue that only through tolerating and mediating between the region and the globe can world literature as a discipline find its way out without fear for marginalising any of the literary pieces.展开更多

The grand transforming from the old globalizationto the new one serves as a historical field domain for the Chinese blueprint to come on the stage. The neo-Chinesemodernism surpassing the western modern and linear logic has become the essence of the Chinese blueprint aiming atthe great rejuvenation of Chinese nation. The logic of the localization of Marxism in China needs to focus profoundlyon the problems China, hold fast to the Chinese standpoint, gaze at the Chinese field of vision, create Chinese theo-ries and Chinese Discourse, and become the subjective condition of a Chinese blueprint, To compose a Chinese blue-print of "a better social system", it is necessary that the Chinese academics especially the localized Marxism in Chinashould innovate, adhering to the "Four Self-confidences", to go to the world creatively, on the base of summarizingconstantly, comprehensively and thoroughly the experience of the exploration for a Chinese Path. The presence of aChinese blueprint signifies a grand transforming of the age of neo-globalization from "the world coming to China" to"China going to the world", signifies a sharp rise of "the community of human destiny" in the context of the age ofneo-globalization, signifies a historical undertaking by the localized Marxism in China of the great mission of goingto the world and taking the lead of the human development.展开更多
