The characters with the nearest resemblance are Fortunata （Trimalchio＇s wife） and Myrtle （Tom Buchanan＇s mistress）. Fortunata＇s presentation stands out several elements which mark her by degradation, the same sort of elements which is possible to observe in Myrtle＇s description. Among these qualities, there are the violence and the ugliness shown in their physical and psychological portrayal, exhibited on the way they dress and behave in the social gatherings in which they take part. These features are also showed in the manner they are treated by their men. Fitzgerald also shows his characters--male or female in a very similar manner. The women, in both books, are not presented in a flattering way, for sure, but they are not also presented as inferior beings. Wherefore the ancient piece can be once more approximate from modern narratives and this fact reflects in its reception and on the clear, and timeless, influence it has on literature in general as in the case of Fitzgerald＇s novel.展开更多
[Objectives]Through data mining and analysis,the medication characters and ideas of ye Tianshi,a famous physician in Qing Dynasty,in the treatment of tinnitus were explored,so as to provide reference for clinical tinn...[Objectives]Through data mining and analysis,the medication characters and ideas of ye Tianshi,a famous physician in Qing Dynasty,in the treatment of tinnitus were explored,so as to provide reference for clinical tinnitus treatment.[Methods]The medical records of Ye Tianshi's treatment of tinnitus in the Ancient and Modern Consilia Cloud Platform were retrieved and sorted,and the use frequency,properties,metabolic organ and compatibility of related Chinese herbs in the cases were analyzed through system-integrated statistical analysis,cluster analysis,association rules analysis and complex network analysis.[Results]A total of 46 medical cases were finally included,with 15 frequently used Chinese herbs,including poria with hostwood,Radix Rehmanniae Preparata,magnetitum,etc.Most of the drugs are cold and neutral in nature,sweet and bitter in taste,and metabolized in liver and heart.The results of cluster analysis show that the therapeutic drugs for tinnitus are mainly divided into four categories:strengthening spleen,nourishing yin,suppressing symptoms,and clearing heat.The results of association rules analysis show that the commonly used traditional Chinese medicine combination is composed of three herbs,poria with hostwood,Radix Ophiopogonis,and Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae,which have spleen-strengthening and stomach-tonifying effects.The results of complex network analysis show that the core prescription is based on Siwu Decoction.[Conclusions]In the treatment of tinnitus,Ye Tianshi paid attention to the three internal organs of heart,kidney and gallbladder,and made good use of lung qi-dispersing drugs to clear heat,sweet and cold drugs to tonify stomach and nourish yin,and tonic drugs to suppress symptoms.The core prescription is mainly composed of Radix Rehmanniae,Radix Rehmanniae Preparata,oyster,poria with hostwood,Fructus Forsythiae,Radix Paeoniae Alba,antelope horn,magnetitum and Radix Asparagi.The commonly used single herbs are poria with hostwood,Radix Rehmanniae Preparata and magnetitum.The combination of poria with hostwood,Radix Ophiopogonis and Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae is more common.展开更多

In the twentieth century, modern Chinese literature generally adopted four paradigms in pursuit of this objective： the socio-political paradigm that viewed traditional literature in terms of ＂quintessence-dross＂ under the guidance of the Marxist doctrine of the critical inheritance of cultural heritage; the ＂spiritual awakening＂ paradigm that, being inspired by Western schools of thought such as hermeneutics, viewed traditional literature as ＂the source of new literature＂; the scientific-aesthetic paradigm that viewed traditional literature as combining scientific interpretation and modern aesthetics and focused on interpretation, transformation, innovation and creation from within; and the folk paradigm that viewed literary tradition as a narrative of daily life demonstrating the way in which ancient and modern literature were connected in a cultural whole. A total of 36 surface soil profiles were set at the wetlands in Qilihai Ancient Lagoon Wetlands,Tianjin,the surface soils of 0-20 cm depth were sampled at various use types of lands to provide information on the conce...A total of 36 surface soil profiles were set at the wetlands in Qilihai Ancient Lagoon Wetlands,Tianjin,the surface soils of 0-20 cm depth were sampled at various use types of lands to provide information on the concentrations of heavy metals in the coastal wetlands.Total concentrations of arsenic(As),cadmium(Cd),copper(Cu),lead(Pb),chromium(Cr)and zinc(Zn)were determined using inductively coupled plasma atomic absorption spectrometry(ICP-AES)to address the pollution levels in the sampling sites.The results showed that the concentrations of Cd,Cu in the soils disturbed by human activities intensively,the Phragmites australis marshes,the farmland,the brushes decreased in turn;among the sites,the concentrations of As,Cd and Cu were the highest in the soil of build-up areas,while the concentrations of Pb and Zn were the higher in the soil of farmland.The mean concentrations of Cu,Cr,Cd,Pb,Zn and As in the soils of 0-20 cm depth were 38.74 mg/kg,83.52 mg/kg,0.19 mg/kg,34.27 mg/kg,121.7 mg/kg and 18.77 mg/kg,respectively.The contamination indices of As were on the high pollution level in the soils of farmland and disturbed by human activities intensively;the concentrations of Cd in the soils of the marshes and farmland were at the moderate pollution level,while that in the soil disturbed by human activities intensively was at high pollution level.The values of comprehensive contamination index demonstrated that the variation of As contents was the maximum in the soils,Cd pollution reached to a high level.Geoaccumulation index showed that As pollution was at moderate level,and Cd,Cu and Zn pollution were at slight level,and the Pb and Cr pollution wasn't found in the build-up areas.展开更多
