The China National Blue Bay Remediation Action Plan(NBBRAP)is a crucial step towards achieving the overall goal of building a maritime power and a beautiful ocean.This paper presents the resource-environment-economy(R...The China National Blue Bay Remediation Action Plan(NBBRAP)is a crucial step towards achieving the overall goal of building a maritime power and a beautiful ocean.This paper presents the resource-environment-economy(REE)composite system from the three-dimensional perspective of REE.Especially,through the coordination degree model of the composite system based on the order degree of subsystems,empirical analysis of the coordination degree of the REE composite system in a typical coastal city Qingdao from 2005 to 2016 was carried out.Results indicate that the degree of coordination and interactive coordination of the REE composite system in Qingdao were in a low-quality state.Qingdao's economy development depended largely on the expense of over-exploitation of resources and environmental degradation in 2013-2015.Government policy implementation was less persistent in 2009-2010 and 2011-2013.The immediate stimulating effect was significant,making the coordination degree of the REE composite system fluctuate in a volatile manner.Analysis of the coordination degree of the REE composite system has practical guiding significance for the successful implementation attainment of the NBBRAP target in Qingdao and is conducive to deepening the learning and promotion of this plan in other coastal cities.展开更多
Bali Action Plan provisions acknowledge the fact that developing countries are already making efforts to reduce emissions and move towards a low carbon pathway.The Copenhagen Accord mentions "Nationally appropria...Bali Action Plan provisions acknowledge the fact that developing countries are already making efforts to reduce emissions and move towards a low carbon pathway.The Copenhagen Accord mentions "Nationally appropriate mitigation actions seeking international support will be recorded in a registry along with relevant technology,finance and capacity building support.The phrase "measurable,reportable and verifiable" was critical to the agreement,and the way in which the concept of MRV is reflected in the post-2012 agreement will have significant implications for the effectiveness of that agreement for stakeholders in both developing and developed countries.It is worth looking for current examples of developing country programs that can be measured,reported and verified and examining how countries themselves currently undertake mitigation policies and measures.Many of China's domestic policies have been in effect for several years and thus provide empirical evidence for how such programs can work on the ground.This paper will highlight how MRV is currently applied domestically in China and will not make any specific proposals for negotiators;it only seeks to inform international discussion on how MRV might be applied in practice,and therefore what provisions might be required in a UNFCCC climate agreement.展开更多

Bemisia tabaci(Gennadius) biotype B,called a "superbug",is one of the most harmful biotypes of this species complex worldwide.In this report,the invasive mechanism and management of B.tabaci biotype B,based ...Bemisia tabaci(Gennadius) biotype B,called a "superbug",is one of the most harmful biotypes of this species complex worldwide.In this report,the invasive mechanism and management of B.tabaci biotype B,based on our 5-year studies,are presented.Six B.tabaci biotypes,B,Q,ZHJ1,ZHJ2,ZHJ3 and FJ1,have been identified in China.Biotype B dominates the other biotypes in many regions of the country.Genetic diversity in biotype B might be induced by host plant,geographical conditions,and/or insecticidal application.The activities of CarE(carboxylesterase) and GSTs(glutathione-S-transferase) in biotype B reared on cucumber and squash were greater than on other host plants,which might have increased its resistance to insecticides.The higher activities of detoxification enzymes in biotype B might be induced by the secondary metabolites in host plants.Higher adaptive ability of biotype B adults to adverse conditions might be linked to the expression of heat shock protein genes.The indigenous B.tabaci biotypes were displaced by the biotype B within 225 d.The asymmetric mating interactions and mutualism between biotype B and begomoviruses via its host plants speed up widespread invasion and displacement of other biotypes.B.tabaci biotype B displaced Trialeurodes vaporariorum(Westwood) after 4-7 generations under glasshouse conditions.Greater adaptive ability of the biotype B to adverse conditions and its rapid population increase might be the reasons of its successful displacement of T.vaporariorum.Greater ability of the biotype B to switch to different host plants may enrich its host plants,which might enable it to better compete with T.vaporariorum.Native predatory natural enemies possess greater ability to suppress B.tabaci under field conditions.The kairomones in the 3rd and 4th instars of biotype B may provide an important stimulus in host searching and location by its parasitoids.The present results provide useful information in explaining the mechanisms of genetic diversity,evolution and molecular eco-adaptation of biotype B.Furthermore,it provides a base for sustainable management of B.tabaci using biological and ecological measures.展开更多

As a multi-layered system, the Chinese HSR ca...This study examines the interrelatedness between the hierarchical structure of China's urban system and high-speed railway (HSR) network planning at the national level. As a multi-layered system, the Chinese HSR can be categorized into three sub-networks, namely, the national HSR trunk network, the national HSR extensional network, and the intercity HSR network. By examining the direct HSR network connection, HSR noda( connection, and HSR operational frequency of 287 prefecture-level cities, this study demonstrates that the hierarchies of China's administrative, demographic, and economic urban systems strongly influence HSR network planning. The national HSR trunk network prioritizes the connection of top-level central cities, whereas the extensional network prioritizes cities at the (ower level of the urban system. Moreover, the national HSR system forms the backbone of the HSR network structure based on a national scale, whereas the intercity HSR system satisfies the travel needs within urban agglomerations based on the regional level.展开更多
