Genome-wide identification,characterization and functional prediction of the SRS gene family in sesame(Sesamum indicum L.)

Sesame(Sesamum indicum L.)is an ancient oilseed crop of the Pedaliaceae family with high oil content and potential health benefits.SHI RELATED SEQUENCE(SRS)proteins are the transcription factors(TFs)specific to plants that contain RING-like zinc finger domain and are associated with the regulation of several physiological and biochemical processes.They also play vital roles in plant growth and development such as root formation,leaf development,floral development,hormone biosynthesis,signal transduction,and biotic and abiotic stress responses.Nevertheless,the SRS gene family was not reported in sesame yet.In this study,identification,molecular characterization,phylogenetic relationship,cis-acting regulatory elements,protein-protein interaction,syntenic relationship,duplication events and expression pattern of SRS genes were analyzed in S.indicum.We identified total six SiSRS genes on seven different linkage groups in the S.indicum genome by comparing with the other species,including the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana.The SiSRS genes showed variation in their structure like2–5 exons and 1–4 introns.Like other species,SiSRS proteins also contained‘RING-like zinc finger'and‘LRP1'domains.Then,the SiSRS genes were clustered into subclasses via phylogenetic analysis with proteins of S.indicum,A.thaliana,and some other plant species.The cis-acting regulatory elements analysis revealed that the promoter region of SiSRS4(SIN_1011561)showed the highest 13 and 16 elements for light-and phytohormone-responses whereas,SiSRS1(SIN_1015187)showed the highest 15 elements for stress-response.The ABREs,or ABA-responsive elements,were found in a maximum of 8 copies in the SiSRS3(SIN 1009100).Moreover,the available RNA-seq based expression of SiSRS genes revealed variation in expression patterns between stress-treated and non-treated samples,especially in drought and salinity conditions in.S.indicum.Two SiSRS genes like SiSRS1(SIN_1015187)and SiSRS5(SIN_1021065),also exhibited variable expression patterns between control vs PEG-treated sesame root samples and three SiSRS genes,including SiSRS1(SIN_1015187),SiSRS2(SIN_1003328)and SiSRS5(SIN_1021065)were responsive to salinity treatments.The present outcomes will encourage more research into the gene expression and functionality analysis of SiSRS genes in S.indicum and other related species.

The frequent rebellions in Northern Manchuria during the Third Revolutionary War occurred in the special context of the struggle between the Kuomintang(KMT)and the Communist Party of China(CPC)for Northeast China after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War.The rebellion reached its peak during the KMTs attack on Northeast China,followed by a second wave of rebellion after the defeat in the Defensive Battle of Siping.It tended to disappear after the downfall of the Jiang Pengfei Group.In addition to the blind recruitment of the CPC in traditional narratives,the instigation of the KMT,the traditional mutiny of the old army,the limitations of the early work of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army,the early activities of the KMT,and the regional conflicts between the local and foreign forces are also important reasons for the concentration of rebellions.

The current academic research on the Dian Shi Zhai Pictorial founded in 1884 has been perfected,but there is very little research on the Flying Shadow Pavilion Pictorial,which can be said to be derived from Dian Shi Zhai Pictorial terms of both content and form,and which was founded by the Haiist painter Wu Youru in 1890 in order to reward the increasing number of admirers,but it is still in the initial stage.Flying Shadow Pavilion Pictorial consisted of four parts:pictures of ladies in Shanghai costumes,news about current affairs,pictures of animals,and compilations of women,each of which was accompanied by the then popular notebooks,which were popular at the time among the then readers because of the matching of pictures with text and the mixing of narratives and discussions.This paper takes Flying Shadow Pavilion Pictorial as the main object,summarizes the existing literature about Flying Shadow Pavilion Pictorial,points out the deficiencies of the current research on this basis,and points out the development trend of Flying Shadow Pavilion Pictorial in the future research.

Prometheus and Camus’Ethics of Rebellion

Camus named the different stages of his writing after characters from Greek mythology.The first stage is the“absurd”cycle represented by the myth of Sisyphus.The second stage,the cycle of“rebellion”,is represented by the myth of Prometheus,and the myth of Nemesis represents the unfinished third stage,known as the cycle of“moderation.”Prometheus is a crucial mythological figure and an ideal figure of rebellion as outlined in the second cycle of Camus’work.Prometheus;under Camus’pen,contained an ethical truth,which he carried to the end of his life.The author used a negative way to define the extension of the image of Prometheus,not only to resist negatively in the face of nihilism but also to reflect his self-contradiction from the mainstream discourse as an intellectual engaged in public discussion.He was determined to disassociate himself from the“progressive”address of the French left-wing intellectuals and speak his truth,though his point of view was not very popular then.Through portraying Prometheus,Camus attempted to dismantle the underlying basis and logic of nihilism by taking the other as the starting point and“moderation”and“tension”as the methods.At the same time,he tried to build a stable way to end the violence that was generally legitimized and establish a solid and absolute ethical value that created a relationship of solidarity among human beings.

On Beijing Dialect Translation from the Perspective of Domestication and Foreignization --A Case Study of Shi Xiaojing＇ s English Version of Luotuo Xiangzi

His famous work Luotuo Xiangzi has embodied the characteristics of Beijing, that is why it is popular among both the public and mmslators. Threrfore, it is significant to study the English translation of Luotuo Xiangzi. Shi Xiaojing has the background of living abroad, and she has also been influenced by Chinese culture. So, her translation ofLuotuo Xiangzi is worth analyzing. This paper will analyze some examples of Beijing dialect in Shi Xiaojing＇s English Version of Luotuo Xiangzi by using the theory of domestication and foreignization to make a summary and to identify deficiencies.

Real-time prediction of mechanical behaviors of underwater shield tunnel structure using machine learning method based on structural health monitoring data

Predicting the mechanical behaviors of structure and perceiving the anomalies in advance are essential to ensuring the safe operation of infrastructures in the long run.In addition to the incomplete consideration of influencing factors,the prediction time scale of existing studies is rough.Therefore,this study focuses on the development of a real-time prediction model by coupling the spatio-temporal correlation with external load through autoencoder network(ATENet)based on structural health monitoring(SHM)data.An autoencoder mechanism is performed to acquire the high-level representation of raw monitoring data at different spatial positions,and the recurrent neural network is applied to understanding the temporal correlation from the time series.Then,the obtained temporal-spatial information is coupled with dynamic loads through a fully connected layer to predict structural performance in next 12 h.As a case study,the proposed model is formulated on the SHM data collected from a representative underwater shield tunnel.The robustness study is carried out to verify the reliability and the prediction capability of the proposed model.Finally,the ATENet model is compared with some typical models,and the results indicate that it has the best performance.ATENet model is of great value to predict the realtime evolution trend of tunnel structure.

Determination of 13 Trace Elements in Anshun Thorn Pear (Rosa roxburghii) and Golden Thorn Pear (Rosa sterilis S.D.Shi) by ICP-MS

[Objectives] This study was conducted to establish an analytical method for the establishment of 13 trace elements in Anshun thorn pear(Rosa roxburghii) and golden thorn pear(Rosa sterilis S. D. Shi). [Methods] Nitric acid was used as the digestion system for microwave digestion. Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP-MS) was used to determine the trace elements in thorn pear and golden thorn pear. [Results] Be, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, As, Sr, Mo, Cd, Sb and Hg were determined by ICP-MS method in thorn pear and golden thorn pear. The correlation coefficients of the regression equations of the elements were higher than 0.996; the precision RSD was lower than 2.87%; and the recovery ranged from 94.3% to 109.8%. [Conclusions] The method has the advantages of high sensitivity, good accuracy and simultaneous detection of multiple elements, and provides a reference method and theoretical basis for determining trace elements in thorn pear and golden thorn pear and other fruits.

A Network Pharmacology Study on the Effects of Ma Xing Shi Gan Decoction on Influenza

Objective Pharmacological methods were used to screen targets and signaling pathways of Ma Xing Shi Gan Decoction(MXSGD)during influenza treatments,and mechanisms underlying antiinfluenza effects were elucidated.Methods The Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform(TCMSP)and relevant literature were searched under predefined conditions to identify the main compounds and their targets.Interactions between the target proteins were predicted using the STRING database.Gene Ontology(GO)functional enrichment analyses and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)pathway analyses were performed on the core targets involved in the influenza protein-protein interaction(PPI)network,using WebGestalt and the reactome database.iGEMDOCK was used for molecular docking of receptors and ligands to produce docking scores,and the results were visualized using Autodock and PyMOL.Results In total,126 major compounds and their respective targets were screened.355 influenza target proteins and 1221 influenza protein interactions were predicted using the STRING database.Influenza-related signaling pathways were strongly enriched in pharmacodynamic targets of MXSGD such as cytokine signaling in immune system and signaling by interleukin.The main biological process was response to the stimulates.Molecular docking results showed that RELALicochalcone A docking elicited by MXSGD,was superior to that of other target proteins and active compounds,suggesting that the docking site is also the main effector site of MXSGD during influenza treatments.Conclusions The results showed that MXSGD exerts antiinfluenza effects by interfering with virus adsorption,inhibiting virus proliferation,influencing immune functions and protecting host cells,which may prevent inflammation-induced tissue damage.

Anti-Confucianism:The Formation Process and the Ideology Essence of the Cultural Policy of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom

The“anti-Confucianism”constituted the main feature of the cultural policy of the Taiping Rebellion.However,the anti-Confucianism movement of the Taiping Rebellion was mainly in form rather than in content,and mainly in action rather than in thought,which manifested itself in a policy of banning and destroying the physical forms of Confucian memorial tablets,Confucian temples,and Confucian classics.The core elements of Confucianism were all inherited and retained by Hong Xiuquan,who was committed to subverting Confucius’position as the cultural authority of Chinese society,so Confucianism,together with Christian thought and folk religious thought,constituted the main source of the ideology of the Taiping Rebellion.It was the influence of Confucianism and folk religious thought on Hong Xiuquan that gave the idea of worshipping God a localized character and made a new type of religion that combined Chinese and Western elements.The“anti-Confucianism”was mostly based on an irrational political movement,and the Taiping Rebellion never criticized the doctrine of Confucius and Mencius from a theoretical point of view.Thus the political submission of civil society to the Taiping Rebellion hardly rose to the level of political identification.Cultural antipathy,to some extent,led to the eventual defeat of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom.

Systematic Pharmacological Strategies to Explore the Regulatory Mechanism of Ma Xing Shi Gan Decoction on COVID-19

Objective To use systematic pharmacological strategies to explore the regulatory mechanisms of Ma Xing Shi Gan Decoction(MXSGD)against the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).Methods Data on the compounds and targets of MXSGD were collected from the Traditional Chinese Medicene Systems Parmacology Database and Analysis Platform(TCMSP)and TCM Databases@Taiwan.Data on ACE2-related targets and the protein-protein interaction(PPI)were collected from the String database.The Cytoscape 3.7.2 was used to construct and analyze the networks.The DAVID platform was used for Gene Ontology(GO)and pathway enrichment analyses.Results Data on 272 MXSGD targets and 21 SARS-CoV-2 potential targets were collected.Four networks were constructed and analyzed based on the data:(1)compound-target network of MXSGD;(2)MXSGD-SARS-CoV-2-PPI network;(3)cluster of MXSGD-SARS-CoV-2-PPI network;(4)Herb-Pathway-Target network.The core targets included AKT1,MAPK3,IL-6,TP53,VEGFA,TNF,CASP3,EGFR,EGF and MAPK1.The antiviral biological processes were inflammatory responses(inflammatory cells,inflammatory cytokines and their signaling pathways),immune responses(T cells,monocytes,B cells and other immune cells),immune factors(IFN-γ,TNF-αand so on),virus defense,humoral immunity and mucosal innate immune response.The antivirus-related signaling pathways included TNF,NOD-like receptor,FoxO,PI3K-AKT and Toll-like receptor signaling pathways.Conclusions MXSGD can control disease progression by regulating multiple compounds and targets;it can reduce inflammation and balance immunity by regulating several proteins that interact with ACE2 and signaling pathways closely related to disease development.

The state of Xia, which originated from Yu, was entitled "Xia Hou"; its king was hence called "Xia Hou Di" (Emperor of Xia Hou), e.g."Xia Hou Di Qi". The Xia people, together with the Yin (Shang) people, and the Zhou people, were the so-called "people of San Dai" (Three Dynasties). As mentioned in "Lunyu, Bayi", they founded the states, with the Xia people being associated with the pine, the Yin people with the cypress, and the Zhou people with the chestnut.

A Feminist Analysis of Mr. and Mrs. Dove by Katherine Mansfield

Katherine Mansfield （1888-1923）, a New Zealand＇s celebrated short story writer, was famous for her exquisite portrayals of women and she made great contribution to the British short story as well. Greatly influenced by Anton Chekhov, her writing fmnly fixed on the small details of human behavior. She created her best works in the early 1920s, and her book, The Garden Party, arrived at the peak of great achievement. Set in England, her short story, Mr. and Mrs. Dove, described a story about the man＇s last day in England and a series of things that happened to his visit to his beloved woman＇s home which presented the relationships between his mom and him, and his beloved woman and him. This paper mainly explores the feminist thoughts of the female characters. The paper concludes that the awakening awareness of women in this story was obviously from the perspectives of striking against the patriarchal system and Mansfield was actually a feminist pioneer who promoted the development of feminism in the whole world.

New Interpretation on“Qin Bu Shi(寝不尸)”in The Analects of Confucius

“When sacrifices are to be offered to ancestors,Shi(尸)is indispensable.This ceremonial convention has been kept intact in the dynasties of Yu,Xia,Shang and Zhou.”Shi refers to a person alive in place of the deceased to be sacrificed.Shi is required to stand in the sacrificial ceremony in Xia dynasty,which is called the standing Shi,while in dynasties of Shang and Zhou,Shi is supposed to be seated,calling the sitting Shi.The sitting posture of Shi at the sacrificial ritual then is different considerably from the way we sit on the buttocks today.Shi is expected to sit on the knees.Specifically,Shi should keep a kneeling position,with knees on the ground and buttocks on the heels whilst his head bowing and his back arching.Accordingly,Qin Bu Shi(寝不尸)in The Analects of Confucius should be interpreted as one should not bother to adopt the sitting Shi posture while retiring to bed,rather than the version,as has been annotated by Yang Bojun,“Confucius does not sleep(lying stretched out)like a dead body.”
