Analyzing land use characteristics of rural settlements on the urban fringe of Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing, China

The objective of this paper is to analyze land use characteristics of rural settlements in urban fringe so as to provide references for optimizing the regional distribution of rural settlements, consolidating rural settlements, and coordinating urban-rural integrated development. The methods of spatial statistical analysis, buffer analysis, Ripley's K function, kernel density analysis based on GIS(Geographic Information System) were used to analyze the characteristics of scale, spatial differentiation and spatial patterns of the rural settlements in Liangjiang New Area in Chongqing Municipality of China. The fractal dimension formula was also developed to reflect fractal feature of the rural settlements. The results show that, the scale of rural settlements in Liangjang New Area takes on distinct characteristics of spatial differentiation along with changes in elevation, gradient, location, geohazards distribution, and the like. The fractal characteristic of rural settlements has obvious regional variations subject to the 6 factors of location in the Liangjiang New Area. Overall, the worse the terrain conditions are, the larger the fractal dimension values become. The better the locationconditions, the larger the fractal dimension values are. The spatial pattern in the township scale presents three kinds of distribution as being aggregated, uniform and random. In contract, the spatial pattern in the plaque scale displays a banding distribution from a general view with several aggregation zones centering on each town center. From the results, we can see that the characteristics of rural settlements in urban fringe are more complicated. For such kind of rural settlements in special regions, in the rural land consolidation more attention should be paid to improve the rural living environments and public services, as well as to promote the harmonious relationship between the urban and rural areas.

Research on the Harmonious Development of New Rural Communities under the Perspective of Balancing Urban and Rural Areas

On the basis of offering a definition of New Rural Communities (NRCs), the paper analyzes the values of New Rural Communities and argues that the construction of NRCs is able to contribute to the enhancement of the comprehensive agricultural production capability as well as the development of social productivity. Meanwhile the incomes of the rural residents can be boosted, which denotes the realization of a harmonious society where the achievements of China's reform and development are shared by each citizen. Moreover, the construction of NRCs facilitates the economization of land use and thus improves the overall living standard of the residents, while helping to cut the administrative cost and promote democracy at the primary level. This paper also points out various problems arising during the construction of NRCS in China: blindly following suit in accordance with the modes of the urban communities; lack of funds, which leads to the absence of the supporting mechanisms of NRCs; vague positioning and the ensuing shortage of impetus for continued development. Finally, the paper raises the corresponding measures and suggestions: first, based on reality, make overall planning and scientific arrangement; second, the government should play the dominant role while respecting the principal position of the rural residents and introducing the market mechanism; third, increase science and technology input and attach equal importance to economic and social benefits; fourth, broaden fund-raising channels while completing the supervision mechanism.

Path Choice on Rural Industrial Upgrading in the Process of Rural-urban Integration in Binhai New Area

With methods of reference research and field research, the current situations of rural industrialization in the process of rural-urban integration in Binhai new area are analyzed and some problems in the process of integration in the new area are pointed out, such as difficulties in breaking dual economic structure in urban and rural areas, imbalanced economic development in the area and inadequate development of the third industry. And relevant countermeasures are proposed: optimizing agriculture industrial structure and promoting agricultural industrialization to form urban agricultural model of Binhai new area focusing on facility agriculture, park agriculture and high-end agriculture and to realize the intensive growth of agriculture; rationally distributing rural industrial structure to form regional leading industry and playing the guiding role of industry to achieve industrial adjustment improvement; quickening the construction of the third industry centering on service to form the service system of modern countryside and the leading role of modern service industry so as to achieve rapid development of the third industry.

The Building of New Countryside in Poverty-stricken Mountainous Area: A case of Hongyan Village,Haizijie Township of Bijie City

The essential drive of building a new countryside lies in scientific and technological innovation. Through expounding the scientific and technological demonstration benefits and roles of new countryside building in poverty-stricken mountainous area,the major problems and hardships of new countryside building in poverty-stricken area are analyzed and the new breakthroughs which should be focused on during the building of a new countryside are put forward. These breakthroughs include transforming the philosophy and approach of rural work; highlighting the construction of rural operation mode and rural socialized service system,and improving the quality of rural labors.

Selection of New Energy Development Models in Rural Jilin Province under Different Situations

Jilin Province’s vast rural areas are endowed with abundant new energy resources,which provide a fundamental condition for the development of new energy in rural Jilin.This paper will explore the various possibilities of new energy development in rural Jilin under the background of grid infrastructure construction,the deepening of electricity market reform,the modernization of agriculture and rural areas,and the transformation of energy.It will draw conclusions on the reasonable development models of new energy in rural Jilin under different scenarios,providing a reference for the development of new energy in rural Jilin and rural revitalization.

Reform of Rural Land System from the Perspective of New Urbanization

In view of artificially high urbanization rate of China and possible causes,survey and data analysis methods were used to discuss reform of household registration system,and path for promoting rural land system reform. Results show that it is required to eliminate bottlenecks of land system in the advance of new urbanization process. In line with land system bottlenecks of new urbanization,it is recommended to take following measures.( i) Promoting land right confirmation centered land system reform.( ii) Weakening rural land ownership and stressing land use right.( iii) Establishing urban and rural integrated land market and putting an end to low cost urbanization road.( iv) Realizing asset value of rural construction land and tackling the problem of insufficient construction land.( v) Reforming the land expropriation system and increasing the share of gain in land value to farmers.( vi) Implementing different land policies to promote coordinated development of regional social economy.( vii) Establishing land circulation access system to ensure unchanged land use purpose and high efficient use.

Idle School Buildings in Rural Areas: Will they Be Useful?

Taking the case of Enshi City,we survey the supply of public services in rural areas from education,health,culture and social security; reveal the relationship between the use of idle school buildings in rural areas and the improvement of public services in rural areas. On the basis of expounding the status quo of idle school buildings and public services in rural areas of Enshi City,the following recommendations are put forward: using the idle school buildings to develop rural public education; using the idle school buildings to develop rural public health and medical services; using the idle school buildings to develop public cultural undertakings in rural areas; using the idle school buildings to develop social security undertakings in rural areas.

Spatio-temporal Dynamic Patterns of Rural Area Development in Eastern Coastal China

The aim of this study is to evaluate the current state of rural area development at the county level in the eastern coastal China. An evaluation index system including 18 factors was developed, and a rural development index (RDI) was constructed to evaluate rural development state in 2000, 2004, and 2008. The quantitative evaluation indicated the following results. 1) This study derived four dominating components by means of principal component analysis, which can explain 78.2% of the total information, namely agricultural production input, the basic condition of agriculture, the comparative effectiveness of grain production, and the household′s own basic conditions. 2) Since the turn of the new millennium, the rural area in the eastern coastal China has experienced a rapid development in general. Well developed, developed, moderately developed and undeveloped rural areas respectively occupied 29.32%, 22.33%, 21.91%, and 10.51% in 2008. 3) The countryside had maintained a sound momentum of developing trend between 2000 and 2008, while the rural development in the eastern coastal China lacked sustainability. And 4) industrialization, urbanization, original economic basis, and location are four major driving forces of the disparity of rural area development in the eastern coastal China. Given these results, the strategies and policies for the improvement of each rural group were put forward.

Building a New Socialist Countryside, Improving Commission and Agent System of “Village-level Accounting”

Rural finance is an issue concerned with rural people, improving rural financial management is important to close the relations of cadres and masses, maintain rural stability, and promote rural economic development. This article explained the main problems of village financial, the needs of introducing commission and agent system of ＂village-level accounting＂ for building a new socialist countryside, and the measures of improving commission and agent system of ＂village-level accounting＂.

Research on the Evaluation Indicator System for Rural Green Building

Based on the actual situation and the survey results in rural areas,with the domestic and foreign advanced green building standard as a reference,we initially determine the evaluation indicator system for rural green building. We use the AHP-Delphi method to calculate the weight,and get a multi-goal,multi-factor,and multi-level rural green building evaluation method suitable for the rural environment,social and economic situation,and apply this method to 10 villages in Shaanxi Province. After the evaluation and scoring,we give the following recommendations:( i) Strengthening the energy-saving design and improving the living comfort;( ii) Enhancing the application of appropriate technologies;( iii) Improving the level of development environment.

New and Renewable Energy Development in China's Rural and Remote Area

This paper analyses the present situation of new and renewable energy development in China’s rural and remote areas and gives the development objectives and tasks which could be fulfilled in the future. At last, it is summed up that exploiting new and renewable energy is the national key strategy for rural economic development.

Review and Prospect of Development Capability of New Generation Farmers

In the context of dual economic structure,there occurs shift of numerous rural surplus labors in China. As a special group lingering about in the edges of urban and rural areas,the new generation farmers become a hot spot of research. How to help them smoothly become successors of China's agricultural modernization construction is a focus of academic circles. Based on literature review,this paper analyzed connotation of development capability of new generation farmers from agricultural modernization,thinking ability construction,system and policy,and new farmers. Finally,it came up with prospect for development of new generation farmers.

On Rural Medical Care and Health Undertaking Development during New Medical Reform

Based on in-depth survey of township hospitals in Lushan County of Henan Province, this paper studies the development situations of rural medical care and health undertaking in the course of new medical reform. Results show that both rural medical institution and public health undertaking have considerable development in this course. Working capital situation gradually turns better. However, there are still problems and challenge of shortage of high quality medical care personnel, lack of employment mechanism, poor medical environment, and imperfect bidding and purchasing system of medicines. To further develop rural medical situation, it should improve medical environment, speed up informationization construction, and give prominence to functional orientation.

Research on Strengthen Investment in Rural Infrastructure Construction

Based on clarifying the definition of rural infrastructure, this paper specifically introduces backwardness of rural infrastructure in Enshi City, Hubei Province. Then it summarizes successful experiences of Korean ＂New Village Movement＂. From a new angle, the paper talks about measures to strengthen investment in rural infrastructure construction. It expects an early realization of ＂the development of production, peasants living a rich and comfortable life, civilized custom, clean and tidy villages, and democratic management＂ of the new socialist rural areas.

Challenges and Opportunities for China＇s Agricultural and Rural Development in the 12th Five-year Plan Period

Despite the great progress of rural socioeconomic development in the 11 th Five-year Plan period （2006-2010）, China＇s agriculture and countryside are still.lacing the challenges of a crude development pattern, backward rural development and cities＇ weak driving effect on the countryside. In the 12th Five-year Plan period （20I 1-2015）, China should transform the way agriculture grows and operates; promote rural socioeconomic development; improve urban planning and its functions, institutional innovation, and urban/rural integration to lay a solid foundation for building an all-round well- off society.

Analyzing the extent and use of impervious land in rural landscapes

The amount of impervious surface is increasing rapidly worldwide.Although urban expansion has been studied extensively,the alteration of impervious land cover in rural regions remains under-examined.In particular,insights into the utilization of these sealed surfaces are crucially needed to unravel the underlying dynamics of land use changes beyond urban areas.This study focuses on rural regions from a Swiss case study and presents an analysis of the use of sealed surfaces in such regions,rather than solely quantifying the extent of sealed surfaces.Utilizing a synergistic approach that merges detailed cadastral plans with very-high-resolution remote sensing imagery and sophisticated deep learning algorithms,we characterized the uses of sealed surfaces,including buildings and their surroundings.Our findings reveal that 2.1%of the study area’s rural regions comprises sealed surfaces-an area comparable to the sealed surfaces in the urban regions.Within these rural regions,transport infrastructure represents 68%of this impervious surface.Buildings account for 12%,and their surroundings,constituting 13%,are utilized primarily for agricultural purposes,including farming and livestock activities.The deep learning approach achieved a classification accuracy of 72%for a shallow model and 79%for a deeper model,indicating that mapping building types is possible with reasonable accuracy.The outcomes of this study underscore the critical need to factor in the presence and utilization of impervious land cover within rural regions for the sustainable management of land resources.

Women’s Social Roles and Peace Building in Al-Abassiya Locality:2012-2024

This research focused on the social roles of women in Al-Abassiya locality,South Kordofan State,examining the obstacles they face and the impact on their participation in peace building.Using qualitative methods,data were collected through various means,revealing that conflicts have significantly affected women’s lives,particularly in rural areas.Women play key roles in family,education,health services,and humanitarian aid,but their involvement in conflict resolution and peace building activities is limited.Obstacles include cognitive,economic,social,and institutional barriers.Recommendations include providing education and training programs,strengthening economic status,ensuring women’s representation in decision-making bodies,advocating for legal reforms promoting gender equality,improving access to information technologies,educating communities on women’s involvement in peace building,and providing support services for women affected by conflicts.

Survey Reveals Farmers'Perceptions of Modern Life

Through a statistical analysis of the results of a field survey conducted in a moderately remote suburb of Shanghai,this article investigates the common problems and concerns that farmers are facing during the process of marketization. In evaluating the level of rural development,farmers pay more attention to social security and their living conditions than an increase in income. Whilst playing a prominent role in the development of the rural economy and environmental governance, the government has failed to adequately cultivate community culture and public spiritual life. The government policies on building a new socialist countryside focus on those issues of most concern to farmers: income,employment,education,social security and rural environmental governance,whilst neglecting the cultural life of farmers.

以新质生产力引领现代化大农业发展

现代化大农业是以系统、全局的大农业观为指导,对传统小农经济进行现代化改造的先进农业发展模式,具有多维生产空间、多种农业功能和多元实践模式,其基本特征是以现代化大产业为核心架构,以绿色高效为根本属性,以强带动能力为突出作用。发展现代化大农业是加快农业农村现代化的主攻方向,也是加快建设农业强国的重要途径。新质生产力对现代化大农业发展具有引领作用,为现代化大农业发展明确了着力点,提供了内在支撑,开辟了新起点、新机遇和新路径。实践中,新质生产力能够有效拓展农业生产空间及功能,弥合农业科技短板,推动农业形成大产业格局,促进农业绿色低碳转型,由此引领、支撑并推动现代化大农业发展。以新质生产力引领现代化大农业发展,需要加快构建与之相适应的现代农业科技创新体系和现代化大农业产业体系,强化与之相配套的现代化大农业基础设施建设和新型农业人才队伍建设,推动与之相协调的体制机制适应性变革。

新农科背景下生物化学与分子生物学“根植三农聚焦融合”的课程思政教学实践

“根植三农聚焦融合”是河南牧业经济学院服务区域农牧产业发展,实现高水平应用型大学发展的重要抓手。生物化学与分子生物学课程是我校涉农专业的学科基础课程,新农科建设过程中学科融合的重要载体。为了新农课背景下课程思政目标的实现,课程组在思政案例凝练上,从学科发展史、三农实践应用、校友优秀案例、生态文明、职业道德与生物伦理等方面,搭建学生“三农”情怀的培养平台;在课程思政案例和实践项目安排上,对接行业发展、三农实践、教师科研、校企合作项目和学生自主创新项目等,建立学生知识应用的“融合”平台,从而实现对学生“根植三农”的情怀培养和“聚焦融合”的能力提升。授课过程中以线上线下混合式教学为主线,将单一的课堂讲授改造为人才培养全周期的参与。在课前的线上布置任务、课中的“六环节”教学和课后的第二课堂等环节中融入思政元素,通过具有一定挑战度、高阶性和创新性的知识应用达到思政目标。通过课程改革,学生在三农行业一线的就业率明显提升,利用学科融合解决三农问题的能力得到有效提升,增强了学生服务“三农”的意识,强化了学生的专业思想,激发了学生利用课程知识服务“三农”实践的内生动力。
