On the Compilation Modes of Local History of Science and Technology——A Case Study of the History of Ba-Shu Science and Technology

The contents of"Ba-Shu History of Science and Technology"take up a single volume of A General History of Ba-Shu Culture.This paper attempts to explore compilation modes of the history of local science and technology by analyzing the compilation of"Shu History of Science and Technology".There are three approaches available,i.e.a general history-based approach,a discipline-based approach and an integrated approach,also known as a discipline-specific approach based on general history.This paper considers the integrated approach to be the most feasible as it elaborates Ba-Shu culture as a sub-culture of Chinese culture,the connotations of Ba-Shu achievements in science and technology,the special significance of the history of Ba-Shu science and technology,as well as the latest progress in studying the history of Ba-Shu science and technology.This paper also puts forward a possible choice to better approach the compilation of the history of local science and technology,reveals areas worth improving,and indicates a proper direction to move towards.

On Chinese Civilization Being the Only Continued Civilization in the Viewpoint of the Modern National History Construction

Chinese civilization is the only ancient civilization thriving to this day seems to be a common view in the historical academia and Chinese society as well. Culture is a way that human beings actively adapt to the surroundings and keep consistence with environmental change. All cultures created by human beings are changing, so is the Chinese culture. The physical and cultural evolution presented by the archaeological discoveries and related historical researches show that Chinese culture is multi-sourced and multicultural. This is the secret for the Chinese culture to retain its vitality. The reasons that Chinese civilization is the only civilization thriving to this day among all of ancient civilizations in the world include the ancestral worship, the identity to common ancestors, traditions of writing pedigrees and history books, the longhistory Chinese character system and the creative thinking and cultural methods of interpreting new thoughts by using traditional Chinese thinking and cultural structures. Especially in modern times, impacted by the nationalism trend, the national state narration built for meeting the requirement of the national state"historical memory"left us the strong impression of Chinese civilization being the only continued civilization and fostered the affective identification with the common history.

From the early days of the moving image and its recordings of facts and events considered to be historical, followed by the consolidation of the classic narrative cinema grammar in the 1910s reaffirmed until today by a large part of the television production that turns to the past, without disregarding authorial aesthetic experiences produced especially since the 1920s, history has been present for over more than a century in several types of media. Movie theaters, people＇s homes and, nowadays, thanks to new media technology, any and every place are spaces for projecting historical narratives. They are both entertainment--by deploying strategies for constructing a ＂truth＂ about the past--and critical reflection, going against a belief in that possibility, in rendering explicit their nature as a language. Since all of these narratives presuppose an audience, a public, within different genres, styles and formats, with more realist overtones, more to the general public＇s taste, or anti-naturalist, in experiences for smaller audiences, it seems pertinent to discuss these issues considering that audiovisual narratives are powerful agents in constructing a memory of the past. Particularly in this text, we will examine how the most powerful communication enterprise in Brazil - Global Group - had construct a memory of the Brazilian military dictatorship （1964-1985） until 2016.

1944-1949 in the North East of Latvia： Soviet Myths and Reality

The scientific work on collecting and studying life stories started in Latvia in late 1980s, and mainly was devoted to creation of a multi-voiced counteraction to Soviet-era history. In this article, a life story and associated discourse units illustrate not only a point about the speaker, but also about the facts and notions that are common to the post-war Latvia. Post-Soviet society still use to give different accounts of the same facts and of the reasons why they happened. Studying multiform social memories that are forming Latvian collective memory is a way to perceive the processes by which these common-sense notions are constructed. The article demonstrates how to use the life story as a source for local history research and at the same time for people self-awareness research. This article is devoted to the analysis of eye-witnesses＇ （materials gathered from 12 neighboring farmer families） narratives about the post-war reality, comparing the main presumptions of Soviet ideology, existing in Latvia and all other Baltic states, to real life. Provided those presumptions being myths--the term being understood in political science as deceit as a falsifying construct, the author analyses true life stories to show the real danger of intention to exist in some irrational, mythical sphere.

The Idea of“Codification”of Human Rights to Environment

As China has embarked on a new journey to comprehensively build a modern socialist country and marches toward the Second Centenary Goal,improving the protection of human rights in environmental protection has become a key task to meet people's growing demand for a better life.The international community has reached a consensus on the human rights attribute of environmental rights,and China has also recognized it in its National Human Rights Action Plan of China(2021-2025).Early claims for environmental human rights gave birth to modern environmental law at the international level,while the global consensus on sustainable development promoted the new development of environmental human rights.In China,the construction of a"beautiful China"has become the national goal confirmed by the Constitution.The confirmation of environmental rights in the planned environmental code can further clarify the connotation of the value system of the code and help clarify the institutional structure and attribution logic of the code.Based on the subjective right and objective value of environmental rights,the specific scheme for the"codification"of environment rights is to construct the system from three levels of ontological provision,guarantee provision and reliefprovision.

Intergroup Evaluation as an Indicator of Emotional Elaboration of Collective Traumas in National Historical Narratives

In a longitudinal content analytical study, the authors explored intergroup evaluation patterns in Hungarian history school-book narratives about the so-called ＂Trianon Peace Treaty＂ in 1920 which had approved the detachment of 2/3 of Hungary＇s territory by victorious countries of the First World War. The event has meant a major national trauma that has not been elaborated to date. The study aimed to find evaluation patterns in temporally changing narrative constructions which were diagnostic to the process of emotional elaboration of the trauma. School-books released between 1920 and 2000 were included in the study, by a 10-year sampling method. Analysis was performed by NARRCAT （Narrative Categorial Content Analytical Tool）, a computerized tool for narrative psychological content analysis, which is capable for identifying complex linguistic structures of psychological relevance in large databases of narratives. Four different evaluation patterns emerged in the narratives which roughly correspond to four different historical eras in Hungary. Results show that the aggressor-victim relation between the former Entente powers and Hungary has remained a part of the narrative representation of the treaty, reflecting the identity state of collective victimhood.

Capitalism, Internationalism, and Socialism in Times of Globalization

This paper will mention Marxist propositions, presented since the mid-19th century, about capitalism, socialism, and internationalism. According to Marx, socialism would replace capitalism and internationalism would occur through the dissolution of nation states. Later, Marxist circles presented a historical arrow in the form of 〉 capitalism 〉 socialism 〉 internationalism. Taking into account recent steps of globalization and measures imposed by national governments in the face of the deep financial crisis of 2008, it is interesting to compare the above theory with some historical events that have happened since the 19th century. Much has happened that Marx did not predict. Considering the world trajectory since the Second World War, it seems that the historical arrow has the form of 〉 capitalism 〉 internationalism 〉 hybridism of capitalism and socialism 〉？

On the Formation of Chinese Nation as One Community from the Perspective of Reading History——Taking the Liao,Western Xia,Jin,Yuan Dynasties as Research Focuses

The formation of the Chinese nation as one community is not only the result of the interaction of various factors such as politics,economy,culture,and natural environment,but also an inevitable trend in historical development.However,cultural identity and integration are the most important factors.Classics are the essence of national culture,and they have always played an important role in shaping,communicating,identifying,and integrating ethnic cultures.In Chinese history,regardless of whether various ethnic groups were in control of a region or entered the Central Plains,they relied on reading Chinese classics and learning Chinese culture as the basis for their survival,and identified themselves as members of the Chinese nation.This eternal historical law is particularly evident in the Liao,Western Xia,Jin,and Yuan dynasties.Summarizing the reading history of these ethnic groups and societies,learning from their historical experience,and exploring and inheriting the reading cultural resources of the Chinese nation are necessary for the formation of the Chinese nation as one community.

爱国主义是高等教育的主旋律,党的十八大以来,学界研究爱国主义教育的成果非常丰富。从知—情—意—行的逻辑理路来看,大学生爱国主义教育可从不同方面着手:彰显知国之明,要深入了解爱国传统,广泛开展“四史”教育;涵养爱国之情,要厚植爱国情怀,坚持理性爱国;砥砺强国之志,要传承五四精神,勇担强国使命,共筑中国梦;实践报国之行,要保持艰苦奋斗,促进民族团结,维护国家安全。目前学界对于爱国主义教育研究的既有成果研究题材广泛、研究内容丰富、研究方法多元,未来的研究还需要在爱国主义的微观心理研究、国别比较研究上进一步深入,并加强研究的学术性和理论性。

中国目录学在经历了漫长的知识积累与经验总结后,借19世纪末至20世纪初近代学术转型之机,在充分继承传统目录学历史财富基础上,吸收西方目录学思想,完成了学科体系的理论化、系统化建构。本课题旨在对先秦至公元2000年中国目录学的历史发展进行全景式梳理,从“中国目录学史研究资料整理”及“中国目录学史研究”两个维度,按照“提出问题→梳理史料→分析史料→解决问题”的研究思路开展研究:首先,提出中国目录学史重要理论问题,搭建中国目录学史研究框架;其次,全面展开中国目录学史研究资料收集,编撰《中国目录学年表新编》;最后,根据中国目录学史的历史分期,分阶段开展中国目录学史的研究与写作。

大一统历史建构与中华民族共同体的早期凝聚

“大一统”历史观是两汉王朝的官方历史哲学,其核心要义是王权至上基础上的国家统一、天下一家。汉代的主流思想家和历史家出于维护王朝大一统的政治立场,在其历史叙事体系中,建构了纵向圣王一脉相袭,横向华夷共祖同源的“大一统”历史发展演进模式,作为汉朝统一多民族国家共同体确认其文化身份的历史依据,同时建构了华夷同源、“天下一家”、“四海归一”的大一统历史记忆,将华夷各族整合成为一个世代相继、绵延不断的“文化血缘”共同体,籍以与汉朝统一多民族国家大一统政治时局相呼应。通过这样的人为建构,赋予汉帝国绍继周、殷而为新王的正统性与权威性,从而为中华民族共同体的早期孕育,打下了坚实的理论基础,成为中华民族凝聚力的重要精神动力源泉。
