The Cultivation of Cross-cultural Awareness in Junior High School English Teaching

The communication between China and other countries is becoming more and more frequently.People have more opportunities to communicate and cooperate with other English speaking countries.Therefore,it’s important to cultivate students with cross-cultural awareness.The English teaching process is bound to combine language with culture,because of the inseparable nature of language and culture.Only through a conscious understanding of the culture containing in language can people learn a language well.As for junior high school English teachers,they can not only confine to language teaching.It’s necessary to help students to understand the culture and the value of English speaking countries.

Farmers’ Knowledge and Awareness towards the Use of Agrochemicals in Vegetable Cultivation, Fako Cameroon

Agrochemicals are contemporary, omnipresent tool used in vegetable cultivation. Farmers’ knowledge and awareness of the proper usage of agrochemicals are critical for mitigating the negative effects on human health. This cross-sectional study was aimed at assessing the usage knowledge, risk awareness of toxicological and chemical classes, proper handling and use practices for agrochemicals homologated for use in vegetable farming, and the occurrence of health-related symptoms as a result of exposure among these farmers. The study included 93 vegetable growers from agricultural hotspot towns in Fako, southwest Cameroon. The field study, ran from November 2021 to December 2023, using a questionnaire to collect information on farmers demographic, and their knowledge of pesticide classes, and the related risk of associated with the handling of agrochemicals. Results show that all vegetable farmers, particularly those engaged in agribusiness, employ pesticide inputs to maximize production. Six pesticides, two fertilizer types, and one unknown substance were identified. While 23 active compounds were found, the most utilized were abamectin, emamectin (10.46%), dimethoate (9.30%,) and ethoprophos (8.13%). Two active chemicals, dimethoate and methalaxyl, are illegal yet remain in circulation. Toxicological classes I and II, with the greatest harmful effect on human health, were the most commonly utilized (64.27%). Thirty-nine percent of farmers never use personal protection equipment when working with agrochemicals, demonstrating a significant gap in knowledge and awareness of agrochemicals and their various applications and handling procedures in the field. The government should implement an intensive specialized educational program for on-field farmers with incentives in order to promote sustainable agriculture methods that ensure environmental and human safety.

The Research on Cross-Cultural Critical Thinking in English Teaching: A Pedagogical Paradigm Within the Ideological and Political Course Framework

The conflation of linguistic competencies with ideological and political educational paradigms presents unique opportunities and challenges for English language teaching(ELT)in our increasingly interconnected world.This research seeks to address the role of cross-cultural critical thinking within the landscape of English pedagogy,framed by the imperatives of ideological and political education.Employing a multi-method approach,including thematic content analysis and action research,the study proposes a pedagogical model designed to integrate transcultural discourse and ideologically reflective practices into the conventional ELT curriculum.This paper argues for a reimagined approach to teaching English that encourages students to engage with diverse cultural perspectives and develop a nuanced understanding of global issues.

Research on College Students’ Cultural Teaching and Cultivation of Cultural Awareness

The interactive coexistence of multi-cultures in the world makes cultural teaching in colleges and universities practical significant.The author carried out a one-semester class-based empirical study on the cultural teaching of 120 freshmen in three classes of English major,using qualitative research methods as the main method,combined with quantitative data collection and analysis,to explore what changes have taken place in students'attitudes and cognition after cultural learning.The study found that 84%of the students changed their attitudes towards cultural differences after one semester of cultural study.The analysis of the causes of the changes reflects the students'cognitive changes in cultural learning,cross-cultural awareness and emotional needs.

The paper focuses on the inseparability of language and culture, highlighting the significant role of cross-culturalawareness and communicative competence in teaching English as a second language （TESL） in the context ofincreasingly internationalized global world. There are many challenges related to teaching English as alingua franka in a cross-cultural context of globalization--English, not being the native language of the learners,triggers a great number of problems connected with teaching and developing cross-cultural awareness. This paperoffers some strategies for coping with them.

Study of Revelatory Impact of College English Teaching for Cross-cultural Awareness Training

With the rapid development of the world economy and technology, Chinese cross-cultural communication with the outside world has become more frequent and widespread. It caused challenges for college English teaching in current stage. It is more urgent for us to adapt to the 21st century and cultivate cross-cultural personnel with practical language skills. This also caused widespread concern in foreign language field. Comparative Study of Internationalized Talent Cultivation Models in International Higher Education Programs

The internationalization of talent cultivation in the field of international higher education is a widely discussed topic among higher education institutions worldwide.This paper conducts a comparative study of domestic and foreign higher education institutions and identifies some differences in the internationalization of talent cultivation among different countries and regions.Firstly,the study summarizes the changes in talent cultivation through domestic study abroad programs and overseas study programs.Then,this paper introduces the“Knowledge-Practice-Research”international talent cultivation model in China and the international talent cultivation model in Japan as an example.Finally,this study compares the international talent cultivation models in domestic and foreign higher education institutions.The results indicate that the internationalization of talent cultivation models needs to be adjusted according to different training objectives,specific countries,and even regional circumstances to adapt to local characteristics and the international environment.Overall,different countries and regions have different emphases and characteristics in the internationalization of talent cultivation in higher education institutions.However,regardless of the country,higher education institutions should focus on enhancing students’international perspectives and cross-cultural communication skills to adapt to the globalized economic and social environment.

How to Develop College Students’Competence of Cross-Cultural Communication

Nowadays many college students lack the competence of cross-cultural communication.They can not communicate with each other appropriately.In response to the problem,this paper analyses its cause and puts forward two countermeasures:fostering students'cultural-awareness and positive attitude towards cross-cultural communication;creating an authentic or semi-authentic language environment.A teacher should combine them together and put them into practice in order to improve students'competence of cross-cultural communication.
