Geminal dinitropropyl ester plasticizers(DNPEPs) possess excellent energetic performances which provide good potentials as insensitive plasticizer. In this study, we design and synthesize DNPEPs with different alkane chain parts, and systematically investigate their structure-property relationships.Results show that DNPEPs have impact sensitivities all higher than 25.2 J, thermal decomposition temperatures all higher than 254 ℃, and glass transition temperatures(T_(g)) lower than-90 ℃.Furthermore, the effects of DNPEPs as plasticizer are studied on hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene(HTPB) in detail, including the viscosity, glass transition temperatures and others. It is noteworthy that 2,2-dinitropropyl nonanoate(DNPNc) among these DNPEPs exhibits the most expected simultaneous tuning effects on both viscosity and T_(g) of HTPB systems, providing favorable potentials to replace the conventional plastizers as dioctyl sebacate(DOS) in the HTPB based propellants and explosives. 展开更多

The temperature dependences of forward voltage drop(VF) of the fast recovery diodes(FRDs) are remarkably influenced by different lifetime controlled treatments. In this paper the results of an experimental study are presented, which are the lifetime controls of platinum treatment, electron irradiation treatment, and the combined treatment of the above ones.Based on deep level transient spectroscopy(DLTS) measurements, a new level E6(EC-0.376 e V) is found in the combined lifetime treated(CLT) sample, which is different from the levels of the individual platinum and electron irradiation ones. Comparing the tested VFresults of CLT samples with the others, the level E6 is responsible for the degradation of temperature dependence of the forward voltage drop in the FRD. 展开更多

A study on temperature- dependence of acoustic fatigue life for a C/SiC panel is presented in this paper. Effects of temperature on both the structural responses and the S-N curves are investigated. The Dirlik method is adopted to predict the fatigue life of a C/SiC panel at three different temperatures respectively. Significant differences are ob- served from the results of numerical simulations between the fatigue lives of the panel in the three cases. The temperature-dependence of acoustic fatigue life of a C/SiC panel is verified, and fatigue test of the material needs to be more atten- tively performed. 展开更多

Temperature effect was evaluated over the viscosity of commercial carrot puree in the range 30 to 60 ℃, using aBrookfield viscometer, model 4535, Lab-Line instruments. In order to perform the viscosity tests, 28 specimens of carrot puree froma local market were used. Totally, 72 tests (each one with a couple replicas) were performed during five minutes, using fourtemperatures (30, 40, 50 and 60 ℃), six shear rates (0.26, 0.52, 1.05, 2.09, 5.24 and 10.47 s1) and three spindles (4, 5 and 6).Statistical analysis was performed using LSD and Duncan tests with a confidence interval of 95% (p value of 0.05). In the currentstudy, it was observed that an increase in the temperature triggers a reduction in the viscosity of the carrot specimens analyzed,although the samples tested at 60℃ were deviated from this trend, which may be due to denaturation of the starch containing carrotsamples at such temperature. Multiple biochemical and micro-structural changes inside the food specimens may begin to occur belowand over the physiological range (20-45 ℃). Experimental data were analyzed with Power Law model in order to obtain the bestfitted parameters as a function of shear rate: It was observed that the consistent index (k) decreased with an increment in thetemperature; while all the values of parameter "n" lesser than one, which means that the puree samples behaved as a pseudo-plasticfluid. Besides that, an Arrhenius model was used to fit the parameters as a function of temperature: Parameter A was lower usingtheexperimental data at shear rates of 10.47 s-1. The modeling performed may be helpful for the appropriate selection of some processvariables, as the shear rate and operation temperature, used for the production of carrot puree; all this is in order to obtain the finishedproduct with the desired consistency. 展开更多

Temperature Dependence of Electrical Properties of Organic Thin Film Transistors Based on pn Heterojuction and Their Applications in Temperature Sensors

Organic thin film transistors based on an F<sub>16</sub>CuPc/α6T pn heterojunction have been fabricated and analyzed to investigate the temperature dependence of electrical properties and apply in temperature sensors. The mobility follows a thermally activated hopping process. At temperatures over 200 K, the value of thermal activation energy (E<sub>A</sub>) is 40. 1 meV, similar to that of the single-layer device. At temperatures ranging from 100 to 200 K, we have a second regime with a much lower E<sub>A</sub> of 16.3 meV, where the charge transport is dominated by shallow traps. Similarly, at temperatures above 200 K, threshold voltage (V<sub>T</sub>) increases linearly with decreasing temperature, and the variations of V<sub>T</sub> of 0.185 V/K is larger than the variation of V<sub>T</sub> (~0.020 V/K) in the single layer devices. This result is due to the interface dipolar charges. At temperatures ranging from 100 K to 200 K, we have a second regime with much lower variations of 0.090 V/K. By studying gate voltage (V<sub>G</sub>)-dependence temperature variation factor (k), the maximum value of k (~0.11 dec/K) could be obtained at V<sub>G</sub> = 5 V. Furthermore, the pn heterojunction device could be characterized as a temperature sensor well working at low operating voltages. 展开更多

A scaling group of transformation... This paper examines a steady two-dimensional flow of incompressible fluid over a vertical stretching sheet. The fluid viscosity is assumed to vary as a linear function of temperature. A scaling group of transformations is applied to the governing equa- tions. The system remains invariant due to some relations among the transformation parameters. After finding three absolute invariants, a third-order ordinary differential equation corresponding to the momentum equation and two second-order ordinary differential equations corresponding to energy and diffusion equations are derived. The equations along with the boundary conditions are solved numerically. It is found that the decrease in the temperature-dependent fluid viscosity makes the velocity decrease with the increasing distance of the stretching sheet. At a particular point of the sheet, the fluid velocity decreases but the temperature increases with the decreasing viscosity. The impact of the thermophoresis particle deposition plays an important role in the concentration boundary layer. The obtained results are presented graphically and discussed. 展开更多

It is challenging for aqueous Zn-ion batteries(ZIBs)to achieve comparable low-temperature(low-T)performance due to the easy-frozen electrolyte and severe Zn dendrites.Herein,an aqueous electrolyte with a low freezing point and high ionic conductivity is proposed.Combined with molecular dynamics simulation and multi-scale interface analysis(time of flight secondary ion mass spectrometry threedimensional mapping and in-situ electrochemical impedance spectroscopy method),the temperature independence of the V_(2)O_(5)cathode and Zn anode is observed to be opposite.Surprisingly,dominated by the solvent structure of the designed electrolyte at low temperatures,vanadium dissolution/shuttle is significantly inhibited,and the zinc dendrites caused by this electrochemical crosstalk are greatly relieved,thus showing an abnormal temperature inversion effect.Through the disclosure and improvement of the above phenomena,the designed Zn||V_(2)O_(5)full cell delivers superior low-T performance,maintaining almost 99%capacity retention after 9500 cycles(working more than 2500 h)at-20°C.This work proposes a kind of electrolyte suitable for low-T ZIBs and reveals the inverse temperature dependence of the Zn anode,which might offer a novel perspective for the investigation of low-T aqueous battery systems. 展开更多

Thermal cracking of rocks can significantly affect the durability of underground structures in engineering practices such as geothermal energy extraction,storage of nuclear waste and tunnelling in freezeethaw cycle induced areas.It is a scenario of strong coupled thermomechanical process involving discontinuity behaviours of rocks.In this context,a numerical model was proposed to investigate the thermal cracking of rocks,in a framework of the continuous-discontinuous element method(CDEM)for efficiently capturing the initiation and propagation of multiple cracks.A simplex integration strategy was adopted to account for the influences of temperature-dependent material properties.Several benchmark tests were considered and the obtained results were compared with analytical solutions and numerical results from the literature.The results show that the fracture degree of the cases when considering temperature-dependent material parameters had 10%differences approximately compared with the cases with constant parameters. 展开更多

Catalytic cracking is the main method to lighten heavy crude oil,this process can produce high quality oil products such as gasoline and diesel,but also produces a large amount of fluid catalytic cracking slurry(FCCS).The catalyst particles in FCCS seriously restrict the secondary processing of FCCS and need to be removed,and the properties of Fccs is an important factor that affects the removal efficiency of the catalyst particles.Based on the"effective contact point"model proposed by the research group,this study further proposed the"electrostatic separation efficiency calculation"model.In this model,since Fccs has a uniform distribution of catalyst particles,the ratio of the number of catalyst particles can be expressed as the ratio of area to achieve the calculation of separation efficiency.Then the catalyst removal efficiency under different viscosity was analyzed,thus verifying the feasibility of this model.The effects of temperature and mass ratio of four components on the viscosity of FccS were investigated respectively,then the effects of temperature and four components'mass ratio on the electrostatic sep-aration can be directly converted into the effect of viscosity on the electrostatic separation efficiency.All the results show the electrostatic separation efficiency decreases with increasing viscosity,and the best separationtemperatureis120℃. 展开更多

To elucidate the high temperature rheological capability of graphene modified rubber asphalt,three contents of graphene and crumb rubber were prepared by a combination of mechanical agitation and high speed shearing machine,then used dynamic shear rheological test(DSR)and multiple stress creep recovery(MSCR)tests to evaluate.The hardness and softening point with rotational viscosity of samples raised with the addition of graphene,especially the addition of 0.04%.Dynamic shear rheological test revealedthat the dynamic shear modulus G*,rutting factor G*/Sin δ,and zero shear viscosity(ZSV)of graphene-modified rubber asphalt were greatly influenced along with graphene-increased,on the contrary,phase angle δ which characterize the viscoelastic ratio of asphalt decreased.Multiple stress creep recovery(MSCR)tests showed that the graphene-enhanced rubber asphalt had high-temperature stability through non-recoverable creep compliance(Jnr).Based on these findings,graphene-modified rubber asphalt binders with the addition of 0.04% graphene had good viscoelastic properties as well as high temperature rutting resistance performance.In the meantime,G*/Sin δ,ZSV,and Jnr100,Jnr3200 have good correlation,which can reveal the excellent high-temperature stability performance of asphalt. 展开更多

Revisiting the Seasonal Evolution of the Indian Ocean Dipole from the Perspective of Process-Based Decomposition

The seasonal phase-locking feature of the Indian Ocean Dipole(IOD)is well documented.However,the seasonality ten-dency of sea surface temperature anomalies(SSTAs)during the development of the IOD has not been widely investigated.The SSTA tendencies over the two centers of the IOD peak in September-October-November are of different monthly amplitudes.The SSTA tendency over the west pole is small before June-July-August but dramatically increases in July-August-September.Meanwhile,the SSTA tendency over the east pole gradually increases before June-July-August and decreases since then.The growth rate attribution of the SSTAs is achieved by examining the roles of radiative and non-radiative air-sea coupled thermodynamic processes through the climate feedback-response analysis method(CFRAM).The CFRAM results indicate that oceanic dynamic processes largely contribute to the total SSTA tendency for initiating and fueling the IOD SSTAs,similar to previous studies.However,these results cannot ex-plain the monthly amplitudes of SSTA tendency.Four negative feedback processes(cloud radiative feedback,atmospheric dynamic processes,surface sensible,and latent heat flux)together play a damping role opposite to the SSTA tendency.Nevertheless,the sea surface temperature-water vapor feedback shows positive feedback.Specifically,variations in SSTAs can change water vapor con-centrations through evaporation,resulting in anomalous longwave radiation that amplifies the initial SSTAs through positive feedback.The effect of water vapor feedback is well in-phase with the monthly amplitudes of SSTA tendency,suggesting that the water vapor feedback might modulate the seasonally dependent SSTA tendency during the development of the IOD. 展开更多

[Nature Communications 10, 2522 (2019)] by employing four alternative phenomenological models, each of which invoked two or more properties from its sample-specific set S<sub>1</sub> = {T<sub>c</sub>, gap, coherence length, penetration depth, jump in sp.ht.} and a single value of the effective mass (m*) of an electron. Based on the premise that the variation of H<sub>c</sub><sub>2</sub>(T) is due to the variation of the chemical potential μ(T), we report here fits to the same data by employing a T-, μ- and m*-dependent equation for H<sub>c</sub><sub>2</sub>(T) and three models of μ(T), viz. the linear, the parabolic and the concave-upward model. For temperatures up to which the data are available, each of these provides a good fit. However, for lower values of T, their predictions differ. Notably, the predicted values of H<sub>c</sub><sub>2</sub>(0) are much higher than in any of the models dealt with by Talantsev. In sum, we show here that the addressed data are explicable in a framework comprising the set S<sub>2</sub> = {μ, m*, interaction parameter λ<sub>m</sub>, Landau index N<sub>L</sub>}, which is altogether different from S<sub>1</sub>. 展开更多

The concentration dependence of the reduced viscosity of dilute polymer solution is interpreted in the light of a new concept of the self-association of polymer chains in dilute solution. The apparent self-association constant is defined as the molar association constant divided by the molar mass of individual polymer chain and is numerically interconvertible with the Huggins coefficient. The molar association constant is directly proportional to the effective hydrodynamic volume of the polymer chain in solution and is irrespective of the chain architecture. The effective hydrodynamic volume accounts for the non-spherical conformation of a short polymer chain in solution and is a product of a shape factor and hydrodynamic volume. The observed enhancement of Huggins coefficient for short chain and branched polymer is satisfactorily interpreted by the concept of self-association. The concept of self-association allows us to predict the existence of a boundary concentration C-s(dynamic contact concentration) which divides the dilute polymer solution into two regions. 展开更多

In this work, temperature dependences of small-signal model parameters in the SiGe HBT HICUM model are presented. Electrical elements in the small-signal equivalent circuit are first extracted at each temperature, then the temperature dependences are determined by the series of extracted temperature coefficients, based on the established temperature for- mulas for corresponding model parameters. The proposed method is validated by a 1x 0.2 x 16 μm2 SiGe HBT over a wide temperature range (from 218 K to 473 K), and good matching is obtained between the extracted and modeled resuits. Therefore, we believe that the proposed extraction flow of model parameter temperature dependence is reliable for characterizing the transistor performance and guiding the circuit design over a wide temperature range. 展开更多

With the aim of simulating the harsh temperature condition of space, a thallium-activated cesium iodide crystal(CsI:Tl) detector readout with a PIN photodiode(CsI:Tl(PD)) and with a silicon photomultiplier(CsI:Tl(SiPM)) is investigated over a temperature range from-40 to 40 ℃. With the increase in temperature, the output signal increases by ~ 24% with CsI:Tl(PD) and decreases by ~69% with CsI:Tl(SiPM). To reduce the effect of temperature in outer space, a method of bias voltage compensation is adopted for CsI:Tl(SiPM). Our study demonstrates that after correcting the temperature the variation in the analog-to-digital converter's amplitude is< 3%. 展开更多
