Phosphorus(P)is essential for living plants,and P deficiency is one of the key factors limiting the yield in rapeseed production worldwide.As the most important organ for plants,root morphology traits(RMTs)play a key ...Phosphorus(P)is essential for living plants,and P deficiency is one of the key factors limiting the yield in rapeseed production worldwide.As the most important organ for plants,root morphology traits(RMTs)play a key role in P absorption.To investigate the genetic variability of RMT under low P availability,we dissected the genetic structure of RMTs by genome-wide association studies(GWAS),linkage mapping and candidate gene association studies(CGAS).A total of 52 suggestive loci were associated with RMTs under P stress conditions in 405 oilseed rape accessions.The purple acid phosphatase gene BnPAP17 was found to control the lateral root number(LRN)and root dry weight(RDW)under low P stress.The expression of BnPAP17 was increased in shoot tissue in P-efficient cultivars compared to root tissue and P-inefficient cultivars in response to low P stress.Moreover,the haplotype of BnPAP17^(Hap3)was detected for the selective breeding of P efficiency in oilseed rape.Over-expression of the BnPAP17^(Hap3)could promote the shoot and root growth with enhanced tolerance to low P stress and organic phosphorus(Po)utilization in oilseed rape.Collectively,these findings increase our understanding of the mechanisms underlying BnPAP17-mediated low P stress tolerance in oilseed rape.展开更多

A total of 576 animals from a Large White×Minzhu intercross population were genotyped using the Illumina PorcineSNP60K Beadchip and were phenotyped for 10 traits, speciifcally, backfat thickness (6-7 libs), carcass length, carcass weight, foot weight, head weight, heart weight, leaf fat weight, liver weight, lung weight and slaughter body weight. The genome-wide association study (GWAS) was assessed by Genome Wide Rapid Association using the mixed model and regression-genomic control approach. A total of 31 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) (with the most signiifcant SNP being MARC0033464, P value=6.80×10-13) were located in a 9.76-Mb (31.24-41.00 Mb) region on SSC7 and were found to be signiifcantly associated with one or more carcass traits and organ weights. High percentage of phenotypic variance explanation was observed for each trait ranging from 31.21 to 67.42%. Linkage analysis revealed one haplotype block of 495 kb, in which the most signiifcant SNP being MARC0033464 was contained, on SSC7 at complete linkage disequilibrium. Annotation of the pig reference genome suggested 6 genes (GRM4, HMGA1, NUDT3, RPS10, SPDEF and PACSIN1) in this candidate linkage disequilibrium (LD) interval. Functional analysis indicated that the HMGA1 gene presents the prime biological candidate for carcass traits and organ weights in pig, with potential application in breeding programs.展开更多
The classification of central nervous system(CNS)glioma went through a sequence of developments,between 2006 and 2021,started with only histological approach then has been aided with a major emphasis on molecular sign...The classification of central nervous system(CNS)glioma went through a sequence of developments,between 2006 and 2021,started with only histological approach then has been aided with a major emphasis on molecular signatures in the 4^(th) and 5^(th) editions of the World Health Organization(WHO).The recent reformation in the 5th edition of the WHO classification has focused more on the molecularly defined entities with better characterized natural histories as well as new tumor types and subtypes in the adult and pediatric populations.These new subclassified entities have been incorporated in the 5^(th) edition after the continuous exploration of new genomic,epigenomic and transcriptomic discovery.Indeed,the current guidelines of 2021 WHO classification of CNS tumors and European Association of Neuro-Oncology(EANO)exploited the molecular signatures in the diagnostic approach of CNS gliomas.Our current review presents a practical diagnostic approach for diffuse CNS gliomas and circumscribed astrocytomas using histomolecular criteria adopted by the recent WHO classification.We also describe the treatment strategies for these tumors based on EANO guidelines.展开更多

These are the conclusions of new academic research conducted by Jan Veuger of Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM). In the author's dissertation, he asserts that in numerous cases, there is no correlation between social and financial objectives. The Dutch House of Representatives debated the results of the report Ver van huis from the Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry on Housing Associations in early December, 2014. The research that is being carried out at the moment is constructed in a manner that if we understand something about value thinking and what underlying motivation is, an approach can be deducted that will allow us to control them. After the introduction, an explanation of the theme of the research will be given and the choice for a four-phase model with a deepening as to what value(s) is (and are). From the perspective of the four-phase model, the emphasis will be put on the socialization and thinking capacities, and parallels will be drawn between the values within the four-phase model, the examined values, and in specific, public housing corporations.展开更多

Facing the increasing trend of cancer incidence and mortality, China issued and implemented "three-early(early prevention, early diagnosis and early treatment)" national cancer prevention plan. As the main body and dependence of social governance, non-governmental organizations(NGOs) take over the role of government in the field of cancer prevention and treatment. American Cancer Society(ACS) made a research on cancer NGOs and civil society in cancer control and found that cancer NGOs in developing countries mobilize civil society to work together and advocate governments in their countries to develop policies to address the growing cancer burden. Union for International Cancer Control(UICC), Cancer Council Australia(CCA), and Malaysian cancer NGOs are the representatives of cancer NGOs in promoting cancer control. Selecting Chinese Anti-Cancer Association(CACA) as an example in China, this article is to investigate how NGOs undertake systematic cancer prevention work in China. By conducting real case study, we found that, as a NGO, CACA plays a significant role in intensifying the leading role of government in cancer control, optimizing cancer outcomes, decreasing cancer incidence and mortality rates and improving public health.展开更多

Associated with each data point, a quadratic polynomial curve passing through three a...For a given set of data points in the plane, a new method is presented for computing a parameter value(knot) for each data point. Associated with each data point, a quadratic polynomial curve passing through three adjacent consecutive data points is constructed. The curve has one degree of freedom which can be used to optimize the shape of the curve. To obtain a better shape of the curve, the degree of freedom is determined by optimizing the bending and stretching energies of the curve so that variation of the curve is as small as possible. Between each pair of adjacent data points, two local knot intervals are constructed, and the final knot interval corresponding to these two points is determined by a combination of the two local knot intervals. Experiments show that the curves constructed using the knots by the new method generally have better interpolation precision than the ones constructed using the knots by the existing local methods.展开更多
The capability of hydrophobic association polymer(HAPAM) to displace oil is different from that of hydrolyzed polyacrylamide(HPAM) because they have different rheological properties.The viscoelasticity of five polymer...The capability of hydrophobic association polymer(HAPAM) to displace oil is different from that of hydrolyzed polyacrylamide(HPAM) because they have different rheological properties.The viscoelasticity of five polymers was measured using Physica MCR301 rheometer and was compared.The five polymers include three HAPAMs with relative molecular mass of 1 248×104(TypeⅠ),750×104(TypeⅡ),and 571×104(Type Ⅲ) separately and two HPAMs with relative molecular mass of 1 200×104 and 3 800×104 respectively.The experiment results indicate that the viscoelasticity of HAPAM is better than that of HPAM.The storage modulus G' and the loss modulus G″ for HAPAM solutions are also larger than those for HPAM.Comparing the rheological curves of different HAPAM types,it is found that the viscosity of typeⅡ and type Ⅲ is almost same at different shear rates while the viscosity of type I is the lower than that of Types Ⅱ and Ⅲ.The storage modulus G' and the loss modulus G″ for three types of HAPAM were measured in low oscillation frequency range,and the results show that G' is greater than G″ for all three different types of HAPAM,but their loss modulus is almost same,and the G' is in the order of type Ⅱ>type Ⅲ>type I.In addition,the G' and G″ increase with aging time for all three HAPAM solutions were stayed at different days.The viscoelasticity of type Ⅰ reaches the highest value when aging time is 9 d at 45 ℃,but it is 7 d for type Ⅱ and type Ⅲ.The different viscoelasticity properties can be attributed to self-organization supermolecule networks which is formed by hydrophobic association of HAPAM molecular and molecular chain entanglement.展开更多

In such a background, it is especially necessary to deeply analyze the role definition of industry association and administrative organ, discuss how to clarify the role relationship between industry association and administrative organ, and consider how to promote the better and faster development of industry association. Organic geochemistry and comparisons of characteristics of the organic matter in wall rocks of the ore\|controlling strata and ores of the Lower Jurassic Songling black shale formation and the related Songxi silver\|a...Organic geochemistry and comparisons of characteristics of the organic matter in wall rocks of the ore\|controlling strata and ores of the Lower Jurassic Songling black shale formation and the related Songxi silver\|antimony deposit of northeastern Guangdong have been studied in this paper. The results show that the Lower Jurassic Songling shale formation is a suite of biologic\|rich and organic\|rich ore\|bearing marine sedimentary rocks. Micro\|components of the organic matter in the Songling black shale formation consists primarily of algae, amorphous marine kerogen, solid bitumen, and pyrobitumen. The thermal evolution of organic matter is at the over\|maturity stage. There is a general positive correlation between total organic carbon (TOC) and metallogenetic elements such as Ag and Sb in the black shale formation. Organic matter in the host rocks in the Songxi ore deposit played a role in controlling the silver\|antimony depositing environment during the forming process of the black shale ore\|bearing formation. In the absence of vitrinite, the relative level of thermal maturity calculated by solid bitumen reflectance indicates that the ore\|forming temperature of the Songxi silver\|antimony deposit was about 150-170℃, which was considered as an epithermally reworked ore deposit. The roles of organic matter in the formation of the Songxi ore deposit are a primitive accumulation of the metallogenetic elements (Ag, Sb) in the sea\|water cycle system for ore source and a concentration of metals by ion exchange or chelation as well as reduction of the oxidized metals.展开更多

Studies have consistently shown that a delay in diagnosis and treatment increases the mortality...Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) is a complication in as many as 28% of patients who receive mechanical ventilation. Studies have consistently shown that a delay in diagnosis and treatment increases the mortality risk. The aim of this work was to clarify the role of the serum procalcitonin (PCT) in the diagnosis and the prognosis of ventilator associated pneumonia. Methods: Forty two VAP patients, 20 non VAP-ICU (on mechanical ventilation) admitted patients and 20 healthy control subjects of similar age and sex were included in the study. PCT levels in serum samples were measured in all subjects. Results: There was a highly statistically significant difference (p value 0.001) between VAP patients on one side and non VAP-ICU patients and healthy control subjects on the other side regarding the mean values of PCT. Also, the mean values of PCT were statistically significantly higher (p 0.001) among died VAP group than the survivor VAP group. There was a statistically positive correlation (p = 0.449), CRIP (R = 0.403) and SOFA (R = 0.437)) and initial PCT serum levels. Conclusions: This study found that the increased PCT serum level is an important diagnostic tool for VAP and the PCT serum levels can predict the outcome of VAP patients. We recommend other larger studies to augment our findings.展开更多

The roles of organic matter in the formation of the Songxi ore deposit are a primitive accumulation of the metallogenetic elements (Ag, Sb) in the sea\|water cycle system for ore source and a concentration of metals by ion exchange or chelation as well as reduction of the oxidized metals.
文摘Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) is a complication in as many as 28% of patients who receive mechanical ventilation. Studies have consistently shown that a delay in diagnosis and treatment increases the mortality risk. The aim of this work was to clarify the role of the serum procalcitonin (PCT) in the diagnosis and the prognosis of ventilator associated pneumonia. Methods: Forty two VAP patients, 20 non VAP-ICU (on mechanical ventilation) admitted patients and 20 healthy control subjects of similar age and sex were included in the study. PCT levels in serum samples were measured in all subjects. Results: There was a highly statistically significant difference (p value 0.001) between VAP patients on one side and non VAP-ICU patients and healthy control subjects on the other side regarding the mean values of PCT. Also, the mean values of PCT were statistically significantly higher (p 0.001) among died VAP group than the survivor VAP group. There was a statistically positive correlation (p = 0.449), CRIP (R = 0.403) and SOFA (R = 0.437)) and initial PCT serum levels. Conclusions: This study found that the increased PCT serum level is an important diagnostic tool for VAP and the PCT serum levels can predict the outcome of VAP patients. We recommend other larger studies to augment our findings.
