In the present study, twenty eight fourth order sub-basins of W. Mujib-Wala (Southern Jordan) were selected, and hypsometric analysis was carried out using 30 m ASTER DEM. Elevation-relief ratio method was employed to calculate the hypsometric integral values within GIS environment. The hypsometric integral values range from 0.71 to 0.88, whereas, the hypsometric curves exhibit remarkably upward convex shapes which indicate that all sub-basins and the W. Mujib-Wala watershed are at the youth-age stage of geomorphic development. Thus, they are of high susceptibility to erosion, incised channel erosion and mass movement activity. Marginal differences exist in mass removal from the watershed and the 28 sub-basins are attributed to variation in tectonic effect, lithology and rejuvenation processes. The relation between basin area and hypsometric integral was examined using regression analysis. Results reveal that negative and weak relationships dominate, where r2 ranges from 0.05 to 0.478 which confirm with other results reported elsewhere. Indirect assessment of erosion status based on hypsometric integral values was validated using estimated sediment yield information related to wadi Mujib and wadi Wala watersheds separately. The recorded sediment yields were in affirmation with high hypsometric integrals values, where higher values of hypsometric integrals and sediment yields occurred in the western part of the W. Mujib-Wala watershed. These findings would help in the construction of appropriate soil and water conservation measures across the watershed and its sub-basins to control soil erosion, to conserve water, and to reduce sediment discharge into the W. Mujib and W. Wala reservoirs.展开更多

The integration of Remote Sensing (RS), Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Borehole data has been used in the study area to assess their applicability in groundwater investigation. The area of study lies in the arid and semi-arid lands (ASALs) where principally remote sensing data has been used in extraction of various thematic maps (lithology, lineament, drainage density, and Digital Elevation Model Maps) for groundwater assessment. The GIS platform was used in integrating the RS data and data of productive boreholes. The lineaments generated through remote sensing agree well with structural geology of the area, where high density lineament points overlays the points of intense faulting. Lineaments found in the area correlate well with fault zones, fractures, and lithological contrasts as supported by geological map and structural map. Weathering, faulting and fracturing of the rocks mean a possible increase or a reduction in specific capacities as observed in productive boreholes in sedimentary rocks or igneous/basaltic rocks of the area. Similarly, it is noted that the degree of faulting affects the degree of radius of influence of a borehole in a particular area. These analyses show that groundwater potential within the Sub-County varies spatially with high dependency on geological structures in the basement region and more on geology within the volcanic and younger sediments.展开更多

It can provide real-time and accurate attitude information. Subsequently, the single-antenna GPS/SINS integrated navigation system is designed based on the combination of position, velocity, and attitude. Finally the semi- physical simulations of single-antenna GPS attitude determination system and single-antenna GPS/SINS integrated navigation system are carried out. The simulation results, based on measured data, show that the single-antenna GPS/SINS system can provide more accurate navigation information compared to the GPS/SINS system, based on the combination of position and velocity. Furthermore, the single-antenna GPS/SINS system is characteristic of lower cost and simpler structure. It provides the basis for the application of a single-antenna GPS/SINS integrated navigation system in a micro aerial vehicle (MAV).展开更多

The 1-km Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) image is not suitable for retrieval of field level parameter and Landsat data are not frequent enough for monitoring changes in crop parameters during the critical crop growth periods.A methodology to map areas of paddy fields using MODIS,geographic information system (GIS) and global position system (GPS) is introduced in this paper. Training samples are selected and located with the help of GPS to provide maximal accuracy.A concept of assessing areas of potential cultivation of rice is suggested by means of GIS integration. By integration of MODIS with GIS and GPS technologies the actual areas of rice fields in 2002 have been mapped. The classification accuracy was 95.7% percent compared with the statistical data of the Agricultural Bureau of Zhejiang Province.展开更多

文摘In view of the problem that the current single-antenna GPS attitude determination system can only determine the body attitude when the sideslip angle is zero and the multiantenna GPS/SINS integrated navigation system is of large volume, high cost, and complex structure, this approach is presented to determine the attitude based on vector space with single-antenna GPS and accelerometers in the micro inertial measurement unit (MIMU). It provides the basis for the application of a single-antenna GPS/SINS integrated navigation system in a micro aerial vehicle (MAV).
文摘The new Moderate-Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) satellite image offers a large choice of opportunities for operational applications. The classification accuracy was 95.7% percent compared with the statistical data of the Agricultural Bureau of Zhejiang Province.
