A saddle point approximation procedure is applied for calculating the level up-crossing rates in this study. The accuracy and efficiency of the transformed Gaussian process method are validated by comparing the results predicted by using the method with those predicted by the Monte Carlo simulation method.展开更多

To address these issues, the characteristics of the Duffing oscillator's phase...The conventional Duffing oscillator weak signal detection method, which is based on a strong reference signal, has inherent deficiencies. To address these issues, the characteristics of the Duffing oscillator's phase trajectory in a small- scale periodic state are analyzed by introducing the theory of stopping oscillation system. Based on this approach, a novel Duffing oscillator weak wide-band signal detection method is proposed. In this novel method, the reference signal is discarded, and the to-be-detected signal is directly used as a driving force. By calculating the cosine function of a phase space angle, a single Duffing oscillator can be used for weak wide-band signal detection instead of an array of uncoupled Duffing oscillators. Simulation results indicate that, compared with the conventional Duffing oscillator detection method, this approach performs better in frequency detection intervals, and reduces the signal-to-noise ratio detection threshold, while improving the real-time performance of the system.展开更多
We study the kick dynamics of periodically driven quantum systems,and provide a time-independent effective Hamiltonian with the analytical form to reasonably describe the effective dynamics in a long timescale.It is s...We study the kick dynamics of periodically driven quantum systems,and provide a time-independent effective Hamiltonian with the analytical form to reasonably describe the effective dynamics in a long timescale.It is shown that the effective coupling strength can be much larger than the coupling strength of the original system in some parameter regions,which stems from the zero time duration of kicks.Furthermore,different regimes can be transformed from and to each other in the same three-level system by only modulating the period of periodic kicks.In particular,the population of excited states can be selectively suppressed in periodic kicks,benefiting from the large detuning regime of the original system.Finally,some applications and physical implementation of periodic kicks are demonstrated in quantum systems.These unique features would make periodic kicks become a powerful tool for quantum state engineering.展开更多

The main feature of modifications is to replace the mean frequency in the formulation with the peak frequency of the wave spectrum. These two alternative forms of joint distributions are checked in three typical random sea states characterized by the initial wave steepness. In order to further explore the properties &these models, the associated marginal distributions of wave heights and wave periods are also researched with the observed statistics and some encouraging results are obtained.展开更多

Conditions based on the linear matrices inequality (LMI) for the asymptotical stability and state feedback stabilization, respec-tively, are given. Problems of L2-gain analysis and control synthesis are studied. For the L2-gain analysis problem, we obtain an LMI-based condition such that the autonomous uncertain LPS is asymptotically stable and has an L2-gain smaller than a positive scalar γ. For the control synthesis problem, we derive an LMI-based condition to build a state feedback controller ensuring that the closed-loop system is asymptotically stable and has an L2-gain smaller than the positive scalar γ. With the recent developed numerical method density matriX embedding theory, we study the ground state properties of the periodic Anderson model on a two-dimensional square lattice. We systematically investigate the phase diagram away from half filling. We find three different phases in this region, which are distinguished by the local moment and the spin-spin correlation functions. The phase transition between the two antiferromagnetic phases is of first order. It is the so-called Lifshitz transition accompanied by a reconstruction of the Fermi surface. As the filling is close to half filling, there is no difference between the two antiferromagnetic phases. From the results of the spin-spin correlation, we find that the Kondo singlet is formed even in the antiferromagnetic phase.展开更多

Such a model is derived based on the assumption that dark matter and dar...This paper presents a novel physical interpretation of the state of matter of the quark-gluon as the most fundamental building blocks in nature. Such a model is derived based on the assumption that dark matter and dark energy behave as a perfect ideal fluid at extremely high temperature. By the virtue of Boltzmann constant of the ideal gas law and NASA’s Cosmic Microwave Background Explorer (CMB) which estimate that the space has an average temperature close to 2.7251 Kelvin, then the equivalent mass-energy of the fundamental particle of the dark matter/dark energy is determined. Moreover, assuming a uniform space dark energy/dark matter density, then the critical temperature at which the dark matter has a unity entity per volume is identified as 64 × 1012 K. The calculated critical temperature of the quark-gluon plasma is found to be proportional to the temperature generated by colliding heavy ions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) and European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). Moreover, the individual critical temperatures of the quark-gluon plasma matter at which the elements of the Periodic Table are generated are explicitly determined. The generation temperature trend of the elements of the Periodic Table groups and Periods is then demonstrated. Accordingly, the phase diagram of the quark-gluon state matter is proposed. Finally, a new model of quark-gluon power generation plant is proposed and aims to serve humanity with new energy sources in the new millennium.展开更多

In our result, the uniform boundedness and ultimate boundedness are only assumed to the solutions with bounded initial functions. On the other hand, the dissipativity is sought on a suitable bounded convex subset of the state space of solutions. This becomes difficult for the systems with infinite delay since in this case the subset is probably not forward invariant for the orbits of solutions. These are also considerable even for the usual functional differential equations with infinite delay. As an application, we answer an open problem on the existence of an equilibrium state for multivalued permanent systems.展开更多

By the Poincaré map, theory of differential inequalities and differential equation geometry, the existence and orbital stability of the disease-free periodic solution are discussed. Theoretical results show that by state-dependent pulse vaccination we can make the proportion of infected individuals tend to zero, and control the transmission of disease in population.展开更多
