In recent years, wheeled-scaled vehicles have gained lots of attention as a feasible testing platform, nonetheless up to the authors’ knowledge there has been no research regarding the use of scaled tires and their effect on the overall vehicle performance characteristics. This paper presents a novel scaled electric combat vehicle tire model and validation technique. The tire test rig is made specifically to test the pro-line tire model and is designed and manufactured in the laboratory. The tire is validated using vertical stiffness and footprint tests in the static domain at different operating conditions including several vertical loads. CAE and physical tests are the most widely used in vehicle passive safety development, but they can only be done with the detailed 3D model or physical samples. Often some design errors and imperfections are difficult to correct at that time, and a large amount of time will be needed. A restraint system concept design approach which based on single-degree-of-freedom occupant-vehicle model (SDOF) is proposed in this paper. The interactions between the restraint system parameters and the occupant responses in a crash are studied from the view of mechanics and energy. The discrete input and the iterative algorithm method are applied to the SDOF model to get the occupant responses quickly for arbitrary excitations (impact pulse) by MATLAB. By studying the relationships between the ridedown efficiency, the restraint stiffness, and the occupant response, the design principle of the restraint stiffness aiming to reduce occupant injury level during conceptual design is represented. Higher ridedown efficiency means more occupant energy absorbed by the vehicle, but the research result shows that higher ridedown efficiency does not mean lower occupant injury level. A proper restraint system design principle depends on two aspects. On one hand, the restraint system should lead to as high ridedown efficiency as possible, and at the same time, the restraint system should maximize use of the survival space to reduce the occupant deceleration level. As an example, an optimization of a passenger vehicle restraint system is designed by the concept design method above, and the final results are validated by MADYMO, which is the most widely used software in restraint system design, and the sled test. Consequently, a guideline and method for the occupant restraint system concept design is established in this paper.展开更多

The impact to the vehicle speed tracking and the fuel economy is compared among the different driver models. The different human-simulated characteristics of the driver models are emphatically analyzed. The analysis results indicate that the driver models based on PID, simple fuzzy logic and expert PID are corresponding to the handling characteristics of different drives. The driver models of different human-simulated characteristics bring the handling divergence of drivers with different driving level and habit to the HEV forward simulation, and that is significant to the all-around verification and validation of the control strategy for HEV. System simulation results of different driver models validate the impact of driver models to the dynamic and fuel economy performance of HEV.展开更多

Consequently, a guideline and method for the occupant restraint system concept design is established in this paper.

文摘With the increasing maturity of automatic driving technology, the homogeneous traffic flow will gradually evolve into the heterogeneous traffic flow, which consists of human-driving and autonomous vehicles. To better study the characteristics of the heterogeneous traffic system, this paper proposes a new car-following model for autonomous vehicles and heterogeneous traffic flow, which considers the self-stabilizing effect of vehicles.Through linear and nonlinear methods, this paper deduces and analyzes the stability of such a car-following model with the self-stabilizing effect. Finally, the model is verified by numerical simulation.Numerical results show that the self-stabilizing effect can make the heterogeneous traffic flow more stable, and that increasing the self-stabilizing coefficient or historical time length can strengthen the stability of heterogeneous traffic flow and alleviate traffic congestion effectively. In addition, the heterogeneous traffic flow can also be stabilized with a higher proportion of autonomous vehicles.

文摘A speed control analysis for an in-line gasoline fueled internal combustion (IC) engine is presented for the purpose of alleviation of high frequency oscillations in engine revolutions. A dynamic cylinder-by-cylinder model is proposed, base on slider-crank mechanism, which is extended to develop a digital governor providing a high fidelity estimation of rotary speed oscillation for hybrid vehicle engines. A modified PID controller that P and I gain is placed in feedback path is also described for hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) engine speed regulation, By comparison between measured and estimated signals, it is demonstrated that a good agreement has been achieved and the governor behaves an excellent damping speed ripple.

文摘Motor Vehicle emission simulator(MOVES)model was localized by changing the base emission rates in MySQL database of the model, and using the actual measured data for private cars in Shenzhen City,China. The performances of localized MOVES model and non-localized MOVES model were evaluated by comparing the predicted emission factors to the measured ones. The results showed that by localization of the base emission rates, the prediction accuracy of the localized MOVES model for hydrocarbon(HC)and nitrogen oxides(NO x)was significantly improved. The accuracy of the localized MOVES model simulations in the Opmode increased by 86%,88%and 71%for HC,76%,42%and 72%for NO x on arterial roads, expressways and highways. For carbon monoxide(CO),however, the simulation performance based on the average velocity mode on expressways and highways became poor after localization, with the decrease of 28%and 8%respectively.Overall,by the localization of the base emission rates, the relative errors of the simulated emission factors of HC,CO and NO x of private cars were less than 37%.

文摘Based on the control theories of PID, fuzzy logic and expert PID, the driver models are built and applied in the forward simulation for hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). System simulation results of different driver models validate the impact of driver models to the dynamic and fuel economy performance of HEV.

The implementation of the equations allowed a first validation of the model via simulations. In a final modeling step the simulation results were interpreted in respect of plausibility. Afterwards, the model was simulated numerically to investigate different load states of the vehicle, by applying constant steering stimuli and variable velocities. In sum, the investigated model approach is useful to identify safety relevant parameters and shows the effects of load states to the vehicle dynamics. 文摘The starting characteristics of thermodynamic undersea vehicle systems are determined by the geometry, size and combustion area of solid propellants, which directly effect liquid propellant pipeline design. It is necessary to establish accurate burning models for solid propellants. Based on combustion models using powder rings and two different solid ignition grains, namely star-shaped ignition grains and stuffed ignition grains, a mathematic model of the ignition process of the propulsion system was built. With the help of Matlab, a series of calculations were made to determine the effects of different grains on ignition characteristics. The results show that stuffed ignition grain is best suited to be the ignition grain of a thermodynamic undersea vehicle system.
