It is necessary to explore the flow characteristics and hot workability of LAHS steels during the multi-pass forging process, which is beneficial to the formulation of actual processing parameters. In the study, the multi-pass hot compression experiments of a typical LAHS steel are carried out at a wide range of deformation temperatures and strain rates. It is found that the work hardening rate of the experimental material depends on deformation parameters and deformation passes, which is ascribed to the impacts of static and dynamic softening behaviors. A new model is established to describe the flow characteristics at various deformation passes. Compared to the classical Arrhenius model and modified Zerilli and Armstrong model, the newly proposed model shows higher prediction accuracy with a confidence level of 0.98565. Furthermore, the connection between power dissipation efficiency(PDE) and deformation parameters is revealed by analyzing the microstructures. The PDE cannot be utilized to reflect the efficiency of energy dissipation for microstructure evolution during the entire deformation process, but only to assess the efficiency of energy dissipation for microstructure evolution in a specific deformation parameter state.As a result, an integrated processing map is proposed to better study the hot workability of the LAHS steel, which considers the effects of instability factor(IF), PDE, and distribution and size of grains. The optimized processing parameters for the multi-pass deformation process are the deformation parameters of 1223–1318 K and 0.01–0.08 s^(-1). Complete dynamic recrystallization occurs within the optimized processing parameters with an average grain size of 18.36–42.3 μm. This study will guide the optimization of the forging process of heavy components.展开更多

Considering long porous tubes the irrigation uniformity of porous tubes was studied by analyzing the deviation rate of the working head of porous tubes and through an impact analysis of the deviation ratio of flow rate based on laying length slope pressure head and perforation spacing. Results showed that the deviation ratio of the flow rate could be reduced by decreasing the length of tubes and increasing the slope. The deviation ratio of flow rate was less influenced by pressure head and perforation spacing. A best laid slope resulted in a longer laying length of the porous tubes and they were not constant.展开更多

The HR was continuously measured by a remote detecting device. VE was recorded by a ventimeter for an average of 5 min. The results showed that HR was positively correlated to VE under static activities (r=0. 89), which suggested that VE as well as HR could to some degrees reflect the static load. It was better to use VE to indicate the load of weight holdings than to use HR, which, on the other hand, was more sensible in reflection of the posture load. It is better to use relative value of both of VE and HR to reflect the static load. In addition,arm-overheaded posture increase HR more significantly than any other activities.展开更多

However, discontinuities in work disrupt the learning process and a phenomenon called remission or forgetting occurs, resulting in increased time of performing the task upon resumption of work. The study aims to identify variables that significantly affect the remission rate of sewing operations in a manufacturing setting. Four variables--length of stint 1, percent Differenceat stint t, gender, and product family, were identified. Statistical analyses, such as paired t-test, correlation, regression, and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were conducted in order to observe the relationships between the dependent variable and independent variables. For the results of the first general regression, gender was found to be an insignificant variable in predicting remission rate, while product family, length of stint 1, and percent Differenceat stint I were statistically significant. Moreover, the final general regression, which excluded the insignificant gender variable and considered the (regrouped) product families, revealed that product family, length of stint 1, and percent Differenceat stint 1 were still statistically significant. Length of stint 1 had a moderately positive correlation with remission rate, while percent Differenceat stint i had a moderately negative correlation with remission rate. Also, percent Differenceat stint 1 was the largest contributor to the remission rate model. In terms of R2, the goodness-of-fit of the model is moderate. Finally, the model yielded an absolute error of 5.08%, indicating a high accuracy in predicting remission rate.展开更多

In this p...The submersible pumping unit is a new type of pumping system for lifting formation fluids from onshore oil wells, and the identification of its working condition has an important influence on oil production. In this paper we proposed a diagnostic method for identifying the working condition of the submersible pumping system. Based on analyzing the working principle of the pumping unit and the pump structure, different characteristics in loading and unloading processes of the submersible linear motor were obtained at different working conditions. The characteristic quantities were extracted from operation data of the submersible linear motor. A diagnostic model based on the support vector machine (SVM) method was proposed for identifying the working condition of the submersible pumping unit, where the inputs of the SVM classifier were the characteristic quantities. The performance and the misjudgment rate of this method were analyzed and validated by the data acquired from an experimental simulation platform. The model proposed had an excellent performance in failure diagnosis of the submersible pumping system. The SVM classifier had higher diagnostic accuracy than the learning vector quantization (LVQ) classifier.展开更多

Its specific plastic...In order to overcome the nonlinearity of Mises criterion, a new linear yield criterion with a dodecagon shape of the same perimeter as Mises criterion was derived by means of geometrical analysis. Its specific plastic work rate expressed as a linear function of the yield stress, the maximum and minimum strains was also deduced and compared with that of Mises criterion. The physical meaning of the proposed yield criterion is that yielding of materials begins when the shear yield stress τs reaches the magnitude of 0.594σs. By introducing the Lode parameter, validation of evolution expressions of the proposed yield criterion with those based on Tresca, Mises and TSS criteria as well as available classical yield experimental results of various metals shows that the present results intersect with Mises results and coincide well with experimental data. Moreover, further application to the limit analysis of circle plate as an example is performed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed yield criterion, and the subsequent comparison of limit loads with the Tresca analytical solutions and Mises numerical results shows that the present results are higher than the Tresca analytical results, and are in good agreement with the Mises numerical results.展开更多

Existin...In situations where discontinuity in operation occurs, specifically in a country where coontractualization has an increasing trend, the performance level of operators after the work break is of great interest. Existing studies have found that the performance of an operator declines after her operation is completely stopped. However, when the operator performed other tasks (may it be similar or not from her previous task) during the work break, the performance after the work break seems to be affected at different level. Contractual and regular operators from a semiconductor and textile company were considered to replicate a discontinuous and continuous operation. The processing times of contractual workers before and after several months of work break were compared. Two types of work break were seen to have significant effect on an operator's performance after the work break, Type 1: 0% to 40% similarity from previous task and Type 2: 40% to 97% similarity from previous task. One can find that when 21% of tasks performed during the work break are similar to the operator's previous task, there would be no change in her performance upon returning. On the other hand, a 5% decline in performance was observed after work break type 1 and an 8.54% improvement after work break type 2. Also, a remission rate of 18% from end of stint 1 to start of stint 2 under work break type 1 was seen, while 8% for work break type 2. This may also be true to other industries. Thus, further study is suggested.展开更多

The comparison of the maximum deviations and the consideration of thevariation of the work hardening rate with true strain show that the flow curves for the austenitic steels 304L and 304LN canbe described by the model σ=Kεn1+n2 lnε at higher precision.The derivatives of the models σ=K1εn1 + exp(K2 + n2ε) and σ=Kεn1+n2lnε with respect to true strain, exhibit theextreme at low true strain. The results showed that when driving the imported tractors in sowing work, the HR increasing rate was 10.4%-14.3%, labor intensity belonged to the light level; when driving domestic tractor in sowing work, the HR increasing rate was 23.4%-33.0%, it was remarkably bigger than that of driving imported tractors (P〈0.05), labor intensity belonged to the middle level. The main effects on driving fatigue included the control methods, tractors' cab environment, processing time, operating content, and so on. Finally, we proposed the concrete measures and suggestions to reduce driving fatigue and improve drivers' work condition.展开更多

Steady state monitoring and direct collection of data from the Mk IV Speedtronics system and log books in the control room was performed. The variation of operating conditions (ambient temperature, compressor discharge temperature, turbine inlet temperature, exhaust temperature and fuel mass flow rate) on the performance of gas turbine (thermal efficiency, net power output, heat rate, specific fuel consumption and compressor work) were investigated using various thermodynamic relations and equations. The results show that a degree rise in ambient temperature could be responsible for the following: 1.37% reduction in the net power output, 1.48% increase in power drop, 1.49% reduction in thermal efficiency, 2.16% increase in heat rate, 2.17% increase in specific fuel consumption and 0.3% increase in compressor work. Furthermore the thermal efficiency decreases by 0.006% for 1 kcal/kWh increase in heat rate and the heat transfer in the hot gas part was found to increase by 0.16% for a degree rise in ambient temperature. Also the work reveals that the gas turbine had a huge drop in power due to influence of site parameters in contrast to designed data.展开更多

For example, an institutional investor or a trading individual makes better investments and minimizes losses when equipped with an understanding of market sentiments in weekly or monthly exchange returns. In the approach suggested here, a typical market sentiment is defined on the basis of the certain function of the mean and the standard error of the logarithm of the ratio of successive daily exchange rates. Based on this surmise, the market sentiments are classified into various states, whereby states are defined according to the perceptions of the market player. A multinomial probability model is built to capture the uncertainties in market sentiments. Two asymptotically distribution-free tests, namely the chi-square and the likelihood ratio test of goodness of fit for the hypothesis of the symmetry in market sentiments are suggested. Two different measures of market sentiments are proposed. The approach advocated here will be of interest to researchers, exchange rate traders and financial analysts. As an application of the proposed line of approach, we analyze weekly market sentiments that govern exchange rates of the major global currencies—EUR, GBP, SDR, YEN, ZAR, USD, data from 2001-2012. Some interesting conclusions are revealed based on the data analysis.展开更多

文摘Presently most of research results on strata behaviors were concluded under the normal (moderate) advance rate conditions. Comparing with normal advance rate, fast advance rate and slow advance rate may cause some new changes of strata behaviors. The characteristics of ground pressure behaviors in working face with great mining height at different forward speeds were studied by similarity model experiment in laboratory. Its conclusion provides a theoretic basis for ground pressure controlling.
文摘In operations management, the learning curve has been an effective tool in estimating operator performance. However, discontinuities in work disrupt the learning process and a phenomenon called remission or forgetting occurs, resulting in increased time of performing the task upon resumption of work. The study aims to identify variables that significantly affect the remission rate of sewing operations in a manufacturing setting. Four variables--length of stint 1, percent Differenceat stint t, gender, and product family, were identified. Statistical analyses, such as paired t-test, correlation, regression, and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were conducted in order to observe the relationships between the dependent variable and independent variables. For the results of the first general regression, gender was found to be an insignificant variable in predicting remission rate, while product family, length of stint 1, and percent Differenceat stint I were statistically significant. Moreover, the final general regression, which excluded the insignificant gender variable and considered the (regrouped) product families, revealed that product family, length of stint 1, and percent Differenceat stint 1 were still statistically significant. Length of stint 1 had a moderately positive correlation with remission rate, while percent Differenceat stint i had a moderately negative correlation with remission rate. Also, percent Differenceat stint 1 was the largest contributor to the remission rate model. In terms of R2, the goodness-of-fit of the model is moderate. Finally, the model yielded an absolute error of 5.08%, indicating a high accuracy in predicting remission rate.
文摘The submersible pumping unit is a new type of pumping system for lifting formation fluids from onshore oil wells, and the identification of its working condition has an important influence on oil production. In this paper we proposed a diagnostic method for identifying the working condition of the submersible pumping system. Based on analyzing the working principle of the pumping unit and the pump structure, different characteristics in loading and unloading processes of the submersible linear motor were obtained at different working conditions. The characteristic quantities were extracted from operation data of the submersible linear motor. A diagnostic model based on the support vector machine (SVM) method was proposed for identifying the working condition of the submersible pumping unit, where the inputs of the SVM classifier were the characteristic quantities. The performance and the misjudgment rate of this method were analyzed and validated by the data acquired from an experimental simulation platform. The model proposed had an excellent performance in failure diagnosis of the submersible pumping system. The SVM classifier had higher diagnostic accuracy than the learning vector quantization (LVQ) classifier.

文摘In order to overcome the nonlinearity of Mises criterion, a new linear yield criterion with a dodecagon shape of the same perimeter as Mises criterion was derived by means of geometrical analysis. Its specific plastic work rate expressed as a linear function of the yield stress, the maximum and minimum strains was also deduced and compared with that of Mises criterion. The physical meaning of the proposed yield criterion is that yielding of materials begins when the shear yield stress τs reaches the magnitude of 0.594σs. By introducing the Lode parameter, validation of evolution expressions of the proposed yield criterion with those based on Tresca, Mises and TSS criteria as well as available classical yield experimental results of various metals shows that the present results intersect with Mises results and coincide well with experimental data. Moreover, further application to the limit analysis of circle plate as an example is performed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed yield criterion, and the subsequent comparison of limit loads with the Tresca analytical solutions and Mises numerical results shows that the present results are higher than the Tresca analytical results, and are in good agreement with the Mises numerical results.
文摘In situations where discontinuity in operation occurs, specifically in a country where coontractualization has an increasing trend, the performance level of operators after the work break is of great interest. Existing studies have found that the performance of an operator declines after her operation is completely stopped. However, when the operator performed other tasks (may it be similar or not from her previous task) during the work break, the performance after the work break seems to be affected at different level. Contractual and regular operators from a semiconductor and textile company were considered to replicate a discontinuous and continuous operation. The processing times of contractual workers before and after several months of work break were compared. Two types of work break were seen to have significant effect on an operator's performance after the work break, Type 1: 0% to 40% similarity from previous task and Type 2: 40% to 97% similarity from previous task. One can find that when 21% of tasks performed during the work break are similar to the operator's previous task, there would be no change in her performance upon returning. On the other hand, a 5% decline in performance was observed after work break type 1 and an 8.54% improvement after work break type 2. Also, a remission rate of 18% from end of stint 1 to start of stint 2 under work break type 1 was seen, while 8% for work break type 2. This may also be true to other industries. Thus, further study is suggested.
文摘The flow curves were measured for the stable austenitic steels 304L and 304LN by means of tensile test at room temperature,which are described by the models σ=K1εn1 + exp(K2 + n2ε), σ=Kεn1+n2lnε and σ=σ0+Kεn (where, K1, K2, n1 andn2; K, n1 and n2; σ0, K and n are constant). The comparison of the maximum deviations and the consideration of thevariation of the work hardening rate with true strain show that the flow curves for the austenitic steels 304L and 304LN canbe described by the model σ=Kεn1+n2 lnε at higher precision.The derivatives of the models σ=K1εn1 + exp(K2 + n2ε) and σ=Kεn1+n2lnε with respect to true strain, exhibit theextreme at low true strain. This inherent character indicates that both models are unsuitable to describe the part of the workhardening rate curve at low true strain.

文摘In order to reduce the driving fatigue in sowing work, this paper based on heart rate (HR) as the main indicator to survey, tested and analyzed the fatigue condition of the drivers of three imported tractors and one domestic tractor in sowing work. The results showed that when driving the imported tractors in sowing work, the HR increasing rate was 10.4%-14.3%, labor intensity belonged to the light level; when driving domestic tractor in sowing work, the HR increasing rate was 23.4%-33.0%, it was remarkably bigger than that of driving imported tractors (P〈0.05), labor intensity belonged to the middle level. The main effects on driving fatigue included the control methods, tractors' cab environment, processing time, operating content, and so on. Finally, we proposed the concrete measures and suggestions to reduce driving fatigue and improve drivers' work condition.
文摘This paper discusses the thermodynamic analysis of a gas turbine power plant located in the equatorial rainforest of southern Nigeria. Steady state monitoring and direct collection of data from the Mk IV Speedtronics system and log books in the control room was performed. The variation of operating conditions (ambient temperature, compressor discharge temperature, turbine inlet temperature, exhaust temperature and fuel mass flow rate) on the performance of gas turbine (thermal efficiency, net power output, heat rate, specific fuel consumption and compressor work) were investigated using various thermodynamic relations and equations. The results show that a degree rise in ambient temperature could be responsible for the following: 1.37% reduction in the net power output, 1.48% increase in power drop, 1.49% reduction in thermal efficiency, 2.16% increase in heat rate, 2.17% increase in specific fuel consumption and 0.3% increase in compressor work. Furthermore the thermal efficiency decreases by 0.006% for 1 kcal/kWh increase in heat rate and the heat transfer in the hot gas part was found to increase by 0.16% for a degree rise in ambient temperature. Also the work reveals that the gas turbine had a huge drop in power due to influence of site parameters in contrast to designed data.
文摘The paper deals with the analysis of market sentiments in exchange rates which are of great interest to trading individuals and institutional investors. For example, an institutional investor or a trading individual makes better investments and minimizes losses when equipped with an understanding of market sentiments in weekly or monthly exchange returns. In the approach suggested here, a typical market sentiment is defined on the basis of the certain function of the mean and the standard error of the logarithm of the ratio of successive daily exchange rates. Based on this surmise, the market sentiments are classified into various states, whereby states are defined according to the perceptions of the market player. A multinomial probability model is built to capture the uncertainties in market sentiments. Two asymptotically distribution-free tests, namely the chi-square and the likelihood ratio test of goodness of fit for the hypothesis of the symmetry in market sentiments are suggested. Two different measures of market sentiments are proposed. The approach advocated here will be of interest to researchers, exchange rate traders and financial analysts. As an application of the proposed line of approach, we analyze weekly market sentiments that govern exchange rates of the major global currencies—EUR, GBP, SDR, YEN, ZAR, USD, data from 2001-2012. Some interesting conclusions are revealed based on the data analysis.
