The radiating element of the proposed antenna consists of Swastika symbol patch using dielectric substrate 4.2, loss tangent 0.0012 and having the same substrate height 1.6 mm. The antenna size is very compact (28.8 mm × 37.2 mm × 1.6 mm) and covers 1.696 GHz to 2.646 GHz and can be used for GSM and WLAN applications. Using IE3D software package of Zealand, the designed antenna is simulated. The computer simulation results show that the antenna can realize wideband characteristics having good impedance bandwidth of 43.758% (VSWR ≤ 2) for all resonant frequencies. Our aim is to reduce the size of the antenna as well as increase the impedance bandwidth.展开更多

The observed normal deformed and superdeformed bands are explained and the terminating states are confirmed by the calculations. The transition quadrupole moment Qt of the calculated superdeformed band is in good agreement with the observed one at high spin. There is shape coexistence within the same configuration. Possible normal deformed and superdeformed bands with rotation around the intermediate axis in several interesting configurations of40Ca are discussed. Possible favored superdeformed band terminations in 38Ca and 38Ar are predicted. The experimental results in 38Ar are discussed simply.展开更多

The lower band is associated with the shorted parasitic strip in the protruding stub of the ground plane; the middle band is expected to be controlled by the longer strip of L-shaped monopole in the front side, while the higher band is associated with the short strip of L-shaped monopole in the front side. The proposed antenna has a good agreement between the measured and the simulation results. It has a 10 d B return loss with the bandwidth of 250 MHz(2270 MHz to 2520MHz) in the lower band, 600 MHz(3320 MHz to 3,920MHz) in the middle band, and 1110 MHz(5030 MHz to6140 MHz) in the higher band. The proposed antenna covers the ISM(industrial, scientific and medical),HIPERLAN(high performance radio local area network), UNII(unlicensed national information infrastructure), and WiM AX bands.展开更多

We calculated its energy band structure and vibration transmission properties and found that the structure has band gaps at both high and low frequencies. Compared with common traditional two- dimensional phononic crystals, the boat-shaped phononic crystal has the advantage of larger bandgap design and modulation parameter space due to their structural complexity. In order to obtain better bandgap characteristics, we studied the influence of four key parameters, such as the rod length and the angle between the rods, on the bandgap. The results show that: for low frequency band gaps, the width of the band gap can be effectively changed by changing the size of the angle between the rods while rod length greatly affects the bandgap position;for high band gaps, the length of rods has a large effect on the band gap position. These laws have guiding significance for the bandgap regulation of boat-shaped phononic crystal.展开更多

In this paper, a compact ultra-wideband antenna (UWB) for UWB applications with triple bandnotched characteristics is presented. The proposed antenna consists of a square patch with four truncated corners and a partial ground plane with a rectangular slit. The operation bandwidth of the designed antenna is from 2.66 GHz to more than 13.5 GHz. Band-notched characteristics of antenna to reject the frequency band of 3.18 - 3.59 GHz and 4.70 - 5.88 GHz, is realized by inserting two C-shaped slots in the patch, the third band of 9.54 - 12.22 GHz is achieved by slottype capacitively-loaded loop (CLL) inserted in the patch near the feed line. Details of the proposed antenna design and simulated results are presented and discussed.展开更多

Resin-modified glass ionomer cement(RMGIC) was used as a luting agent for the novel C-shaped molar band. The mechanical properties of the band were examined and the retention performance was characterized in the mesial, distal and vertical directions. A clinical trial was conducted using a spilt-mouth design on 50 patients. The novel C-shaped molar bands fit most molars without a repeated try-in process. The use of both nanoHA coating and RMGIC enhanced the tensile(8.00 ± 1.8 MPa) and shear strengths(27.17 ± 8.6 MPa) of the molar bands, leading to high retention in vertical, mesial and distal directions( p 〈 0.001). In clinical trials, the C-shaped molar bands had a failure rate(15%) comparable to that of traditional bands, and 93% of the failed bands demonstrated an adhesive remnant index score of 0, corroborating the observation that no luting agent residue remained on the tooth surface in most cases. The novel C-shaped molar bands appear to be a promising appliance that requires further clinical investigations, and may be used effectively in orthodontics.展开更多

The total energy difference between paramagnetic and ferromagnetic state of austenite plays an important role in the magnetic transition. The high Curie temperature can be attributed to the stronger Co-Mn exchange interaction as compared to the Ni-Mn one. The phase stability of Niso-xMn25Ga25Cox austenite increases with increasing Co content, which is discussed based on the electronic structure.展开更多
