The Eastern Cultural Signature of Traditional Chinese Medicine: Empirical Evidence and Theoretical Perspectives

Background: Holistic thinking, which is rooted in Eastern culture, is assumed to be the core of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Recently, such holistic thinking has been proposed to be applicable to Western medicine practices for alleviating serious side effects;however, the obscure and often ill-defined terms of TCM, such as qi, yin yang, and wuxing, pose considerable obstacles for further understanding TCM. In the present study, we explored whether and how TCM is actually related to the scientific construct of holistic thinking, to elucidate the particular cultural signature of TCM. Methods: A random sample of 101 college students majoring in TCM and 93 non-medical college students was recruited for the study. Two psychological scales—the Chinese Holistic Thinking Scale and the TCM Competence Scale were used respectively to measure the holistic thinking and participants’ ability to apply the TCM in practice. Results: We found that individuals who thought more holistically were better at applying TCM to modern medical problems. Interestingly, TCM was associated with holistic thinking in both TCM and non-medical students, suggesting that this association is intrinsic. Further exploration revealed that the association and variability facets of Eastern holistic thinking—which emphasize that the world is interconnected and ever-changing, respectively—significantly accounted for the individual differences in competence in utilizing TCM in practice. Conclusion: In short, our study provides the first empirical evidence linking TCM to the Eastern holistic thinking style, which not only deepens the understanding of TCM from a scientific perspective but also promotes dialogue between TCM and Western medicine for building safer and more effective health care systems. 展开更多

It also reveals the importance of improving English thinking ability and removing the native language interference in English writing. Based on their own actual conditions, major colleges and universities have implemented different talent training modes, including talent training modes of running talent classes, "2+1+1", "Chinese Medicine Research Practice Class", employment-oriented professional talent training mode, three-level three-type diversified talent training mode, and talent training mode oriented with adapting to the characteristics of ethnic regions. Various talent training modes have different training objectives, and corresponding training programs are formulated to meet the requirements of the National Standard for the Teaching Quality of Undergraduate Majors in Ordinary Colleges and Universities. In addition, according to the notice on Solidly Promoting Labor Education into the "National Standard for the Teaching Quality of Undergraduate Majors in Ordinary Colleges and Universities" issued by the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, the introduction of labor education to the teaching of Chinese pharmacy majors will be a trend, and Chinese pharmacy professionals are required to achieve comprehensive and coordinated development of morality, intelligence, physique, beauty, and labor. 目的 探索基于贝叶斯理论的中医内科BOPPPS教学模式。方法 选取2020年3月至5月于黑龙江中医药大学佳木斯学院开设中医内科学课程班级213名学生,采用随机数字表法将其分为对照组107名、试验组106名。对照组行常规BOPPPS教学,试验组行贝... 目的 探索基于贝叶斯理论的中医内科BOPPPS教学模式。方法 选取2020年3月至5月于黑龙江中医药大学佳木斯学院开设中医内科学课程班级213名学生,采用随机数字表法将其分为对照组107名、试验组106名。对照组行常规BOPPPS教学,试验组行贝叶斯理论优化的BOPPPS教学。比较两组学习前后思维能力、学习动机、学习投入度、专业技能及教学效果。结果 学习后,两组思维能力、学习动机、学习投入度得分高于学习前,且试验组高于对照组(P<0.05)。学习后,两组专业技能得分高于学习前,且试验组高于对照组,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。试验组学生自评和互评、学生对授课教师评价评分高于对照组,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论 基于贝叶斯理论的BOPPPS教学模式可提高中医内科教学效果,实践价值较高。 展开更多

马克思主义基本原理之所以能够同中华优秀传统文化相结合,马克思主义行是前提性方面之一。五四时期,部分西方学说传入中国并与中国本土传统文化发生作用,以“大同”观念为代表,表达自身的革命精神和价值追求。广大知识分子面对接纳现代... 马克思主义基本原理之所以能够同中华优秀传统文化相结合,马克思主义行是前提性方面之一。五四时期,部分西方学说传入中国并与中国本土传统文化发生作用,以“大同”观念为代表,表达自身的革命精神和价值追求。广大知识分子面对接纳现代性与省思西方现代性的现实议题,受社会心理转变和推介核心价值观念的隐喻思维影响,纷纷试图采用“大同”观念解决时代问题。但因择取非科学的思想学说,不具备有效解决这些问题的理论空间,不仅未能带动传统观念发挥时代价值,而且使其落入倒退或空想的窠臼。马克思主义是科学真理,中国化时代化的马克思主义在中国根深叶茂,在于其升华了中华优秀传统文化的内容与形式,让传统文化发挥鼓舞群众实践的效力,使人民群众通过先进阶级语境中的传统观念理解、认同和运用指导思想,与时俱进地应对现实课题及社会心理转变,科学利用隐喻思维推动理论大众化。因此,坚持马克思主义在意识形态领域指导地位是“第二个结合”实现又一次思想解放、打开创新空间的根本要求。新时代新征程,“第二个结合”继承发展了科学的方法论,进行更多原创性理论探索和创新,回答了重大时代课题,进一步确证了民族标识和政党形象,承担世界责任、凝聚更为主动的精神力量。 展开更多

核心指标集是就某一特定研究领域达成的所有临床研究都应该测量和报告的最少的临床结局,核心指标集可以提高临床疗效评价的规范性和可比性,是循证医学发展的必然、是中医药临床疗效评价的重要抓手、是推动中医药疗效评价与国际接轨的关... 核心指标集是就某一特定研究领域达成的所有临床研究都应该测量和报告的最少的临床结局,核心指标集可以提高临床疗效评价的规范性和可比性,是循证医学发展的必然、是中医药临床疗效评价的重要抓手、是推动中医药疗效评价与国际接轨的关键。如何运用核心指标集实现临床疗效国际化、标准化的同时,又能遵循中医诊疗特点体现自身优势是中医临床疗效评价的难点。针对这一难点,项目组创新性地提出了1+N模式的射血分数保留心衰(heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, HFpEF)疗效评价体系,即通用的核心指标集“1”+个性化指标集“N”,以满足循证医学和中医学疗效评价的双重需求。本文初探HFpEF疗效评价构建模式,主张在规范化基础上体现多样化和个性化的研究目的需求。结合HFpEF临床疗效评价的现状,综合业内专家意见,探讨了HFpEF 1+N模式疗效评价构建中核心指标集“1”的取舍以及“N”体系的构建思路,以期最大程度的形成符合中医药特色的临床评价体系新范式,推动中医药国际化进程。 展开更多
