The scientific nature of traditional Chinese medicine in the post-modern era

There is a growing need to understand traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)in modern scientific terms.TCM possesses the dual attributes of science and the humanities.At present,medical science and technology are progressing,while humanistic ethics are being neglected.TCM embodies the interaction between imagery and conceptual thinking,which can be explained from the following three aspects:imagery as an internal driving force for cultural rejuvenation,return to the true self and guarding of the root of life,and cosmology(harmony between man and nature).In the post-modern era,“people-oriented”medical values will lead to integrations between science and humanities,holism and reductionism,imagery-based thinking and conceptual thinking,systematic research and descriptive research,and evidence-based medicine and narrative medicine.

Word order and thinking mode of English and Chinese languages

This article aims to analyze the difference of word order between English and Chinese languages after making a constructive study of them and concludes that it is the reflection of different thinking characteristics of the two nationalities. The difference of history development, cultural tradition, social economy and geographic environment naturally produces the thinking mode with the national features. The different features certainly influence the language expression. It is because language is not only the main carrier of thinking but also the important expression form. So to well study the features of thinking mode is of great importance to translation, foreign language teaching and cross-cultural communication.

The development of traditional Chinese medicine

Similar to other medicines,traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)originated from the need for various practical solutions to treat diseases.It is a knowledge system summarized and condensed by the Chinese nation in the health care practice for thousands of years.TCM continues to serve the health care system.This study summarized the history,health concept,main treatment strategies and methods,current development,and future perspectives of TCM.It may provide a more comprehensive image of the overall TCM system.

The Eastern Cultural Signature of Traditional Chinese Medicine: Empirical Evidence and Theoretical Perspectives

Background: Holistic thinking, which is rooted in Eastern culture, is assumed to be the core of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Recently, such holistic thinking has been proposed to be applicable to Western medicine practices for alleviating serious side effects;however, the obscure and often ill-defined terms of TCM, such as qi, yin yang, and wuxing, pose considerable obstacles for further understanding TCM. In the present study, we explored whether and how TCM is actually related to the scientific construct of holistic thinking, to elucidate the particular cultural signature of TCM. Methods: A random sample of 101 college students majoring in TCM and 93 non-medical college students was recruited for the study. Two psychological scales—the Chinese Holistic Thinking Scale and the TCM Competence Scale were used respectively to measure the holistic thinking and participants’ ability to apply the TCM in practice. Results: We found that individuals who thought more holistically were better at applying TCM to modern medical problems. Interestingly, TCM was associated with holistic thinking in both TCM and non-medical students, suggesting that this association is intrinsic. Further exploration revealed that the association and variability facets of Eastern holistic thinking—which emphasize that the world is interconnected and ever-changing, respectively—significantly accounted for the individual differences in competence in utilizing TCM in practice. Conclusion: In short, our study provides the first empirical evidence linking TCM to the Eastern holistic thinking style, which not only deepens the understanding of TCM from a scientific perspective but also promotes dialogue between TCM and Western medicine for building safer and more effective health care systems.

Influences of Chinese culture and mode of thinking on English writing

Thinking patterns and the language features differ from one cultural background to another. Differences between Chinese and English culture diversify the writing patterns of the two languages. The importance of cultivating students＇ cultural awareness is obvious in college English teaching process. This paper discusses the relationship between thought based on culture and English writing, and the characters of language transition by way of contrastive analysis. It also reveals the importance of improving English thinking ability and removing the native language interference in English writing. The main premise of the paper is that effective communication is more than a matter of language proficiency and that, cultural competence can also lead to empathy and respect toward different cultures.

Preliminary Study on the Training Mode of Chinese Pharmacy Professionals Based on the National Standard of Teaching Quality

With the promulgation of the National Standard for the Teaching Quality of Undergraduate Majors in Ordinary Colleges and Universities, the state has made clear regulations on the standard for the cultivation of Chinese pharmacy talents. Based on their own actual conditions, major colleges and universities have implemented different talent training modes, including talent training modes of running talent classes, "2+1+1", "Chinese Medicine Research Practice Class", employment-oriented professional talent training mode, three-level three-type diversified talent training mode, and talent training mode oriented with adapting to the characteristics of ethnic regions. Various talent training modes have different training objectives, and corresponding training programs are formulated to meet the requirements of the National Standard for the Teaching Quality of Undergraduate Majors in Ordinary Colleges and Universities. In addition, according to the notice on Solidly Promoting Labor Education into the "National Standard for the Teaching Quality of Undergraduate Majors in Ordinary Colleges and Universities" issued by the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, the introduction of labor education to the teaching of Chinese pharmacy majors will be a trend, and Chinese pharmacy professionals are required to achieve comprehensive and coordinated development of morality, intelligence, physique, beauty, and labor. How to integrate labor education with high quality and high efficiency into the training of Chinese pharmacy professionals is a problem that major universities will think about.

Contrastive Analysis of Chinese and English Modes of Thinking and Its Effects on Discourse Organization in EFL Writing

Based on the contrastive analysis of Chinese and English modes of thinking, this essay analyzes from two aspects the effects of their discrepancies on the discourse organization of Chinese students ' English writing, then explains the fundamental reason for these effects and proposes that teachers should impart to students knowledge about the differences between Chinese and English mode of thinking so that Chinese students can be better helped to organize their compositions on the English discourse patterns and compose idiomatic English writings.

Analysis of the Causes of Chinglish in Spoken English among Students

Chinglish is what occurs when the Chinese language and English language crash into one another.When native Chinese speakers who are learning English attempt to directly translate Chinese into English,using Chinese sentence structure,wording and grammar,a blend of Chinese and English happens.Among Chinese English teachers and English as a second language (ESL) foreign experts working with students,this phenomenon is commonly referred to as Chinglish.In order to help students to overcome Chinglish in their oral English and cultivate their sensibility of foreign culture and mode of thinking the awareness of the causes of Chinglish is a must.This paper focuses on analyzing the causes in terms of negative transfer of mother tongue and the differences between modes of thinking and cultural backgrounds.

Discussion on Thinking Mode in Cross-cultural Teaching

Different cultural backgrounds result in a different way of thinking and cultural characteristics, and this difference are reflected in the life, production, culture, education and other aspects. Chinese and Westerners have different social and historical and cultural traditions, forming a distinctive way of thinking. Such as the differences between marginal thinking and logical thinking, differences between comprehensive thinking and analytical thinking, differences between focusing on ＂unity＂ and tending to ＂opposite＂, differences between focusing on perceptual and on rational thinking, all of these ways of thinking result in different ways of expression and language in cross-cultural teaching, different ways of behavior and interactions and different view of life and values.

中国教育学自主知识体系是在引进和吸收西方知识,合理借鉴与教育学相关的其他学科成果的基础上,通过传承中国优秀文化传统与教育传统,从知识层面概括和提炼教育实践经验,对教育领域的概念和命题等进行诠释和解答过程中生成的,是能够为人所理解和掌握的具有结构化、层次化的知识系统。从关系思维视角来看,其建构需要认识与处理五对关系:与意识形态的关系是前提,与相关学科的关系是基础,与国外教育学的关系是要求,与中国教育实践的关系是必然,与中国优秀教育传统之间的关系是特色。中国教育学自主知识体系的建构,必须在与意识形态、相关学科、国外教育学、中国教育实践以及与中国优秀教育传统的正确关系思维中进行。

基于贝叶斯理论的中医内科BOPPPS教学模式探索

目的 探索基于贝叶斯理论的中医内科BOPPPS教学模式。方法 选取2020年3月至5月于黑龙江中医药大学佳木斯学院开设中医内科学课程班级213名学生,采用随机数字表法将其分为对照组107名、试验组106名。对照组行常规BOPPPS教学,试验组行贝叶斯理论优化的BOPPPS教学。比较两组学习前后思维能力、学习动机、学习投入度、专业技能及教学效果。结果 学习后,两组思维能力、学习动机、学习投入度得分高于学习前,且试验组高于对照组(P<0.05)。学习后,两组专业技能得分高于学习前,且试验组高于对照组,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。试验组学生自评和互评、学生对授课教师评价评分高于对照组,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论 基于贝叶斯理论的BOPPPS教学模式可提高中医内科教学效果,实践价值较高。

马克思主义基本原理同中华优秀传统文化相结合的前提性省思——从五四时期“大同”观念的再出场说起

马克思主义基本原理之所以能够同中华优秀传统文化相结合,马克思主义行是前提性方面之一。五四时期,部分西方学说传入中国并与中国本土传统文化发生作用,以“大同”观念为代表,表达自身的革命精神和价值追求。广大知识分子面对接纳现代性与省思西方现代性的现实议题,受社会心理转变和推介核心价值观念的隐喻思维影响,纷纷试图采用“大同”观念解决时代问题。但因择取非科学的思想学说,不具备有效解决这些问题的理论空间,不仅未能带动传统观念发挥时代价值,而且使其落入倒退或空想的窠臼。马克思主义是科学真理,中国化时代化的马克思主义在中国根深叶茂,在于其升华了中华优秀传统文化的内容与形式,让传统文化发挥鼓舞群众实践的效力,使人民群众通过先进阶级语境中的传统观念理解、认同和运用指导思想,与时俱进地应对现实课题及社会心理转变,科学利用隐喻思维推动理论大众化。因此,坚持马克思主义在意识形态领域指导地位是“第二个结合”实现又一次思想解放、打开创新空间的根本要求。新时代新征程,“第二个结合”继承发展了科学的方法论,进行更多原创性理论探索和创新,回答了重大时代课题,进一步确证了民族标识和政党形象,承担世界责任、凝聚更为主动的精神力量。

基于PDCA循环持续改进的SPOC模式在中医学教学管理中的应用

新型冠状病毒肺炎(以下简称“新冠”)流行3年,对世界各行各业都产生了巨大影响。目前我国新冠疫情防控已取得重大战略成果,疫情总体得到有效控制,社会已经全面复工复学,疫情防控已经转变为常态化管理,但丝毫不能忽视反弹风险,仍然有部分地区出现本土感染病例。这也给疫情常态化防控下,高等医学院校中医学专业教学管理带来新的思考。高等医学院校教职员工、学生众多,为做到在严格疫情防控下减少聚集性中医相关课程教学,避免出现聚集性传播可能,在线教学成为目前主要的教学模式。文章探索了PDCA循环管理系统和小规模限制性在线课程(SPOC)模式在高等医学院校中医学专业教学管理中的应用,以期找到高效、适宜的中医学专业教学管理模式,提高中医学教学质量。

探讨基于核心指标集构建中医特色的射血分数保留心力衰竭1+N模式疗效评价体系

核心指标集是就某一特定研究领域达成的所有临床研究都应该测量和报告的最少的临床结局,核心指标集可以提高临床疗效评价的规范性和可比性,是循证医学发展的必然、是中医药临床疗效评价的重要抓手、是推动中医药疗效评价与国际接轨的关键。如何运用核心指标集实现临床疗效国际化、标准化的同时,又能遵循中医诊疗特点体现自身优势是中医临床疗效评价的难点。针对这一难点,项目组创新性地提出了1+N模式的射血分数保留心衰(heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, HFpEF)疗效评价体系,即通用的核心指标集“1”+个性化指标集“N”,以满足循证医学和中医学疗效评价的双重需求。本文初探HFpEF疗效评价构建模式,主张在规范化基础上体现多样化和个性化的研究目的需求。结合HFpEF临床疗效评价的现状,综合业内专家意见,探讨了HFpEF 1+N模式疗效评价构建中核心指标集“1”的取舍以及“N”体系的构建思路,以期最大程度的形成符合中医药特色的临床评价体系新范式,推动中医药国际化进程。
