Objective:To analyze the feasibility of adopting a combined ladder and case teaching method in otolaryngology nursing teaching.Method:Nursing students in the otolaryngology department were selected.According to the admission time of nursing students,30 nursing students formed a control group(conventional nursing teaching),and 30 nursing students who were admitted later formed an observation group(ladder and case teaching method).The learning performance and teaching effectiveness of nursing students under different teaching methods were analyzed.Result:The academic performance and teaching effectiveness of the observation group were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The implementation of the ladder and case teaching method during the teaching of otolaryngology nursing significantly improved the student’s academic performance and teaching effectiveness.This method has great practical value. 展开更多

Objective:To investigate the effect of using audible thinking combined with the case teaching method in the teaching of nursing checkups for regulation nurses.Methods:The period was April 2023–April 2024,and a randomized controlled group study was carried out in which 76 regulation nurses in our hospital were randomly divided into a research group and a control group,with 38 regulation nurses in each group.The control group used conventional teaching methods,and the research group used audible thinking combined with the case teaching method,comparing the two groups’independent learning ability scores,assessment scores,and teaching satisfaction.Results:Independent learning ability score:after teaching,the research group was significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05);Assessment results:the research group was considerably higher than the control group(P<0.05);Teaching satisfaction:the research group was significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The use of audible thinking combined with the case teaching method in the teaching of nursing room visits for trained nurses can improve independent learning ability and assessment results and increase teaching satisfaction. 展开更多

Background: Double-lumen endotracheal (DLT) is commonly used for one-lung ventilation and lung separation during thoracic surgery. There are case reports of medically induced laryngeal granulomas, mainly in patients after single-lumen endotracheal (SLT) tube intubation and tracheotomy, and giant granulomas of the vocal cords due to double-lumen bronchial tube insertion have rarely been reported. Case presentation: A 49-year-old female patient underwent single-port thoracoscopy after DLT intubation as well as a wedge resection of the lower lobe of the left lung, which caused giant vocal process granulomas (VPGs) postoperatively. Based on a retrospective analysis of the general condition, current medical history, past medical history, and visual laryngoscopic observation of the vocal folds tissue, which ruled out preoperative vocal fold granuloma formation, we hypothesized that double-lumen bronchial catheter intubation may have been the primary cause of her vocal fold granuloma formation. Conclusions: Giant granuloma of the vocal folds after DLT insertion is a rare postoperative complication;therefore, if DLT intubation is to be performed, the anesthesiologist should choose an appropriate intubation plan and deal with it promptly to avoid the risk factors to ensure that the patient’s perioperative period is safe and smooth. In addition, if postoperative complications are encountered, they should be followed up and observed on time. 展开更多

Objective:To explore the effect of fragmented case teaching in the standardized training of residents in anesthesiology department.Methods:80 doctors who participated in the standardized training of residents in anesthesiology department from January 2021 to January 2022 were selected as the research objects,and the 80 doctors were divided into experimental groups according to the clinical teaching mode(n=40,implemented case fragmented teaching method)and the control group(n=40,traditional teaching method).The training lasted for 2 months,and the medical history collection,medical record analysis,practical operation ability,theoretical assessment results,and the degree of satisfaction towards the training of the two groups of doctors were compared.Results:After 2 months of training,the theoretical knowledge and operational ability of the doctors in the two groups have improved to a certain extent,but the medical history collection,medical record analysis,practical operation ability,theoretical assessment results and satisfaction of the doctors in the experimental group were significantly better than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The effect of the fragmented case teaching method in the standardized training of anesthesiology residents is significantly better than the traditional teaching mode.The abilities of doctors have significantly improved after the training.Hence,the fragmented case teaching method is worthy of promotion in clinical practice. 展开更多

BACKGROUND The midpoint transverse process to pleura(MTP)block,a novel technique for thoracic paravertebral block(TPVB),was first employed in laparoscopic renal cyst decortication.CASE SUMMARY Thoracic paravertebral nerve block is frequently employed for perioperative analgesia during laparoscopic cyst decortication.To address safety concerns associated with TPVBs,we administered MTP blocks in two patients prior to administering general anesthesia for laparoscopic cyst decortication.The MTP block was performed at the T9 level under ultrasound guidance,with 20 mL of 0.5%ropivacaine injected.Reduced sensation to cold and pinprick was observed from the T8 to T11 dermatome levels.Immediately postoperative Numeric Pain Rating Scale scores were 0/10 at rest and on movement,with none exceeding a mean 24 h numeric rating scale>3.CONCLUSION MTP block was effective technique for providing postoperative analgesia for patients undergoing laparoscopic renal cyst decortication. 展开更多

Objective:To explore and analyze the work process-based practical training teaching model for basic nursing skills in vocational colleges and its implementation effects.Methods:A total of 82 nursing students from our school were selected for the study,which was conducted from April 2023 to April 2024.Using a random number table method,the students were divided into an observation group and a control group,each with 41 students.The control group received conventional practical training teaching,while the observation group followed the work process-based practical training model for basic nursing skills.The assessment scores and teaching satisfaction of the two groups were compared.Results:The comparison of assessment scores showed that the observation group performed significantly better than the control group(P<0.05).The comparison of teaching satisfaction also indicated that the observation group had significantly higher satisfaction than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The work process-based practical training teaching model for basic nursing skills in vocational colleges can improve students’assessment scores and enhance teaching satisfaction,demonstrating its value for wider application. 展开更多

The successful execution and management of Offshore Software Maintenance Outsourcing(OSMO)can be very beneficial for OSMO vendors and the OSMO client.Although a lot of research on software outsourcing is going on,most of the existing literature on offshore outsourcing deals with the outsourcing of software development only.Several frameworks have been developed focusing on guiding software systemmanagers concerning offshore software outsourcing.However,none of these studies delivered comprehensive guidelines for managing the whole process of OSMO.There is a considerable lack of research working on managing OSMO from a vendor’s perspective.Therefore,to find the best practices for managing an OSMO process,it is necessary to further investigate such complex and multifaceted phenomena from the vendor’s perspective.This study validated the preliminary OSMO process model via a case study research approach.The results showed that the OSMO process model is applicable in an industrial setting with few changes.The industrial data collected during the case study enabled this paper to extend the preliminary OSMO process model.The refined version of the OSMO processmodel has four major phases including(i)Project Assessment,(ii)SLA(iii)Execution,and(iv)Risk. 展开更多

Objective: To explore the application effect of case combined with seminar teaching method in Pediatric Nursing. Methods: Two classes in junior year were selected by convenience sampling in 2022, and the two classes were randomly divided into the intervention group and control group by tossing a coin. The intervention group utilized the case combined with seminar teaching method, while the control group used the traditional teaching-based method. The stage test average score, final exam results were compared after the end of the course. The autonomous learning ability evaluation scale and the Chinese critical thinking ability scale were used to attain students’ autonomous learning ability and critical thinking ability before and after the course. The self-made evaluation scale was used to know students’ evaluation of the new teaching method after the course. Results: 1) The stage test average scores of the intervention group and the control group were 79.13 ± 6.39 and 74.67 ± 5.25 respectively (P , the final exam scores were 79.83 ± 6.09 and 75.21 ± 4.91 respectively (P < 0.05);2) The total scores of autonomous learning ability were 118.67 ± 7.70 and 106.49 ± 7.67 respectively (P , and the total scores of critical thinking ability were 283.45 ± 7.82 and 251.37 ± 8.93 respectively (P < 0.05);3) More than 80% of the students in the intervention group believed that the case combined with seminar teaching method could deepen the understanding of knowledge, promote the habit of thinking and literature consulting, and improve the ability to analyze and solve problems, integrate knowledge and communicate and coordinate. Conclusions: Application of case combined with seminar teaching method in Pediatric Nursing improved the students’ autonomous learning ability and critical thinking ability, and strengthened the students’ understanding and application of knowledge. Objective:To evaluate the effect of CBL(case-based learning)combined with case analysis in the teaching of clinical anesthesia.Methods:From June 2018 to June 2020,a total of 100 clinical anesthesia interns in Shaanxi Provincial People’s Hospital were selected as the research subjects.They were divided into two groups,the reference group(50 interns)and the study group(50 interns),by random sampling method.The reference group was under the traditional teaching method,whereas for the study group,CBL combined with case analysis was implemented.The teaching satisfaction and achievement of the interns in both the groups were evaluated.Results:The teaching satisfaction of the study group was 98%,which was significantly higher than that of the reference group(86%)(P<0.05);before teaching,there was no significant difference in the theoretical and clinical practice scores between the two groups(P>0.05);however,after teaching,the theoretical and clinical practice scores of the two groups increased significantly,in which the change of the research group was significantly greater than that of the reference group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The application of CBL combined with case analysis in the teaching of clinical anesthesia has an ideal effect,improving the teaching satisfaction and achievement.It is a high-quality teaching method and is worthy of application. 展开更多

The objective of this paper is to create a process view of the development of intermodal transport solution from the basic idea to implementation. Special case of dedicated solutions based on large shippers’ volumes is chosen, where the shippers engage in the development process of the new solutions. Research is conducted using a qualitative approach: multiple case studies. Empirical data has been obtained through in-depth semi-structured interviews with relevant respondents involved in the development projects. Shippers’ perspective on the development process is studied. Development process can be described through a generic four-stage process: Initiation, Planning, Implementation, and Further Development. Different actors and different resources are required at the different stages. The complex process of establishing new intermodal solutions has lacked attention in the intermodal research. Understanding and improving the development process of new intermodal solutions is considered to have an important effect on the viability of intermodal transport and can help to understand the barriers that prevent companies from switching to intermodal. Development process of new dedicated intermodal solutions is a gradual process of building up the transport solution in a continuous interaction between shippers and transport service providers. Research has focused on the shipper perspective on inter-modal transport, showing that switching to an intermodal transport is not simply a mode choice issue, but involves a transition process that takes time, demands resources, cooperation/coordination between multiple parties, may require changes in the supply chain beyond the transport link, involves multiple actors, and involves an industry that is itself in a process of change. 展开更多

The paper analyzes five Finnish case companies to study the sourcing process from China. A framework of a six-stage sourcing process is developed that includes finding and choosing suppliers, making contracts and orders, performing production and quality control, planning logistics, inspecting purchases, and developing supply chain management. Each stage describes the activities from the channels of seeking suppliers to cooperative areas for further development. The case study illustrates the practices of sourcing from China are actually quite similar to the sourcing process in other countries. The study highlights that quality control is the core issue in sourcing from China. Moreover, the difference in understanding sustainable quality affects supplier screening and quality control. Close cooperation on quality control is the key to managing the supply chain to increase competitive advantage through sourcing from China. 展开更多

Since the idea of“Curriculum-Based Ideological and Political Education”was formally proposed in 2016,it has rapidly become a research hotspot in education reform.Although a large number of relevant studies have focused on the effective paths to curriculum-based ideological and political education in specific courses,there are few studies on how to integrate ideological and political education contents into particular courses under specific educational concepts and by particular teaching methods.Thus,this paper will explore how to improve the teaching effectiveness of curriculumbased ideological and political education in College English course with the OBE concept as the driving force and the case teaching method as the means.Finally,a few thoughts on the application of case teaching method in College English course are offered. 展开更多
