The title compound C18H18N4OS has been synthesized by the reaction of 3-(2-hydroxy- benzyl)-4-amino-(1H)-1,2,4-triazole-5-thione with 4-isopropylbenzaldehyde in ethanol and characterized by IR, ^1H NMR spectra and... The title compound C18H18N4OS has been synthesized by the reaction of 3-(2-hydroxy- benzyl)-4-amino-(1H)-1,2,4-triazole-5-thione with 4-isopropylbenzaldehyde in ethanol and characterized by IR, ^1H NMR spectra and elemental analysis. Its structure was determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. The crystal belongs to monoclinic, space group P21/c with a = 11.605(2), b = 7.401(1), c = 20.339(2) A, β= 103.05(2)°, V= 1701.8(4) A^3, Z = 4, Mr = 338.42,μ = 0.202 mm^-1, Dc = 1.321 g/cm^3 and F(000) = 712. The structure was solved by direct methods and refined to R = 0.0428 and wR = 0.1069. Due to the intramolecular O-H…N hydrogen bond and π-π stacking interactions between the benzene (C(1)~C(6)) and triazole rings, the two planes are essentially coplanar. Their biological activities have been measured, showing this type of compound has certain antibacterial activity for Staphylococous aureus and Bacillus subtilis. Based on the quantum chemistry calculation at the RHF/6-31G level, the frontier orbitals and electrostatic potential of the title compound were also discussed. 展开更多

Based on the boron-containing thermally activated delayed fuorescence(TADF)compound p-AC(AC:acridine)5,9-dioxa-13 b-boranaphtho[3,2,1-de]anthracene(a),a series of new TADF molecules b1-b4 were designed via adding two nitrogen atoms at the AC donor part.Density functional theory and time-dependent density functional theory calculations were performed on the frontier orbital energy levels,emission spectra,singlet-triplet states energy gaps(?EST),reverse intersystem crossing(RISC)rate constant(kRISC)for compounds a and b1-b4.Our calculation results show that the maximum emission wavelengths of b1-b4 are significantly blue-shifted by47-125 nm compared with that of a.Molecules b1 and b3 exhibit dark-blue emission,while molecules b2 and b4 display light-blue emission,indicating that these four derivatives could be potential organic light-emitting diode(OLED)candidates with blue-light emitting.Moreover,we found the RISC processes in a,b2,and b4 can occur not only from T_(1) state to S_(1) state,but also from T_(2) state to S_(1) state significantly,while the RISC processes in b1 and b3 mainly take place via the T_(2)→S_(1) hot exciton way.Importantly,the T_(1)→S_(1) kRISC values of b2 and b4 are predicted to be two to three times of that of a,indicating enhanced TADF property.Our results not only provide two promising boron-based TADF candidates(b2 and b4),but also offer useful theoretical basis for the design of blue OLED materials. 展开更多

Changes in brain activation in stroke patients after mental practice and physical exercise: a functional MRI study 被引量:5

Mental practice is a new rehabilitation method that reters to the mental rehearsal ot motor imagery content with the goal of improving motor performance. However, the relationship between activated regions and motor recovery after mental practice training is not well understood. In this study, 15 patients who suffered a firstever subcortical stroke with neurological deficits affecting the right hand, but no significant cognitive impairment were recruited. 10 patients underwent mental practice combined with physical practice training, and 5 patients only underwent physical practice training. We observed brain activation regions after 4 weeks of training, and explored the correlation of activation changes with functional recovery of the affected hands. The results showed that, after 4 weeks of mental practice combined with physical training, the Fugl-Meyer assessment score for the affected right hand was significantly increased than that after 4 weeks of practice training alone. Functional MRI showed enhanced activation in the left primary somatosensory cortex, attenuated activation intensity in the right primary motor cortex, and enhanced right cerebellar activation observed during the motor imagery task using the affected right hand after mental practice training. The changes in brain cortical activity were related to functional recovery of the hand. Experimental findings indicate that cortical and cerebellar functional reorganization following mental practice contributed to the improvement of hand function. 展开更多

Background:Since the completion of the Human Genome Project,health science has been strongly influenced by the advances in genetics and genomics.However,the progress of embracing genetics and genomics into nursing discipline is limited.One of the main barriers is lack of understanding on the relevancy of genetics and genomics to nursing discipline.Objectives:This paper aims to synthesize and develop a theoretical framework for the interaction of nursing discipline with genetics and genomics.Methods:Through content analysis and constant comparative method,a theoretical framework was developed from synthesis of the studies regarding nursing and genetics/genomics indexed in multiple English and Chinese databases.Results:Four main theoretical statements were constructed in the framework:1)There are three ways to show how genetics and genomics can influence nursing discipline:a new specialty,new technologies and a new lens;2)The significant contribution of nursing discipline to genetics and genomics lies in how nurses could focus on the association between human responses and genes and how nurses could advocate for their clients in the genetic and genomic era;3)A paradigm shift occurs after a constant interaction of nursing discipline with genetics and genomics;4)Implementation strategies could be used to facilitate the integration of genetics and genomics to nursing discipline and advance the paradigm shift.Conclusions:The framework will help to understand the relationship between nursing discipline and genetics and genomics and implicate the future studies integrating genetics and genomic science into nursing discipline. 展开更多

For a constantly growing human population, healthy and productive soil is critical for sustainable delivery of agricultural products. The soil microorganisms play a crucial role in soil structure and functioning. They are responsible for soil formation, ecosystem biogeochemistry, cycling of nutrients and degradation of plant residues and xenobiotics. Certain agricultural treatments, such as fertilizers and pesticides applications, crop rotation, or soil amendment addition, influence the composition, abundance and function of bacteria and fungi in the soil ecosystems. Some of these practices have rather negative effects;others can help soil microorganisms by creating a friendlier habitat or providing nutrients. The changes in microbial community structure cannot be fully captured with traditional methods that are limited only to culturable organisms, which represent less than 1% of the whole population. The use of new molecular techniques such as metagenomics offers the possibility to better understand how agriculture affects soil microbiota. Therefore, the main goal of this review is to discuss how common farming practices influence microbial activity in the soil, with a special focus on pesticides, fertilizers, heavy metals and crop rotation. Furthermore, potential practices to mitigate the negative effects of some treatments are suggested and treatments that can beneficially influence soil microbiota are pointed out. Finally, application of metagenomics technique in agriculture and perspectives of developing efficient molecular tools in order to assess soil condition in the context of microbial activities are underlined. 展开更多
