Correlation between English Majors' Critical Thinking Disposition and Their English Reading Comprehension

To improve students' critical thinking is considered as a top priority by a growing number of educators.While there exists a comparable amount of research examining students' critical thinking skills,less is known about students' tendency to use these skills.Specifically,little is known about what influence critical thinking disposition has on students' academic achievement.English reading comprehension,which has been an important composition in students' English achievement,may be an important factor in developing this disposition.The current study examined the characteristics of students' critical thinking disposition and their English reading comprehension as well as exploring the correlation between the two factors mentioned above.The current study involved in 125 sophomores in English major from Jiangsu province.The results indicated that students in current research performed best in Maturity (M=37.46,SD=3.57),followed by Inquisitiveness (M=36.64,SD=4.31),Analyticity (M=34.86,SD=3.70),Truthseeking (M=33.86,SD=4.08).In contrast,they performed worst in CT Confidence (M=33.17,SD=4.57),followed by Systematicity (M=33.49,SD=5.10) and Open-mindedness (M=33.50,SD=3.67).Students scored highest in Attitude and View Category as the mean was 0.8257,followed by Reasoning and Judgment Category (M=0.8128),Induction and Generalization Category (M=0.7612),Theme Topic Category (M=0.6844),Semantic Comprehension Category (M=0.6789),while scored lowest in Fact and Detail Category (M=0.5818).There existed a positive correlation between critical thinking disposition and reading comprehension achievement (n=109;r=0.300;p<0.01).

The Empirical Research of Native Thinking in the Process of English Composition

The method of questionnaire is employed to investigate the impact of Chinese thinking in the writing processes of 80 college English majors.It reveals that the English writing process is a bilingual event(namely,English writers have both Chinese and English at their disposal when they are composing in English).And no matter whether the English proficiency of the learners is high or low,the learners have a great dependence on Chinese thinking in the process of English writing.In the categories of task reacting and content organizing,there is no great difference between the high and low English proficiency students.But in the category of linguistic form,the influence of Chinese thinking on the low level students is far greater than the high level students.

Comprehensive form of solution for Lamb's dynamic problem expressed by Green's functions

By the analysis for the vectors of a wave field in the cylindrical coordinate and Sommerfeld＇s identity as well as Green＇s functions of Stokes＇ solution pertaining the conventional elastic dynamic equation, the results of Green＇s function in an infinite space of an axisymmetric coordinate are shown in this paper. After employing a supplementary influence field and the boundary conditions in the free surface of a senti-space, the authors obtain the solutions of Green＇s function for Lamb＇s dynamic problem. Besides, the vertical displacement uzz and the radial displacement urz can match Lamb＇s previous results, and the solutions of the linear expansion source u^r and the linear torsional source uee are also given in the paper. The authors reveal that Green＇s function of Stokes＇ solution in the semi-space is a comprehensive form of solution expressing the dynamic Lamb＇s problem for various situations. It may benefit the investigation of deepening and development of Lamb＇s problems and solution for pertinent dynamic problems conveniently.

Integrated system of comprehensive utilizing the concentrated brine of Yuncheng salt-lake basing on salt-forming diagram

The comprehensive utilization and environment-friendliness of processes for recovering fresh water or valuable salt from seawater, salt-lakes, or mineral deposits are of utmost importance for sustainable development.One primitive sustainable process for recovering salt from sodium-sulfate-type brine in Yuncheng salt lake had been considered one of the greatest inventions of ancient China, however, the replaced process of mass extraction of single Na_2SO_4 in recent years, has reduced a large amount of residual brine.In this research, relying on the salt-forming diagram in the non-equilibrium state, the technical secrets of ancient salt processes were uncovered, and a new comprehensive utilization system was proposed and tested experimentally.The new system includes a vacuum salt-making process and a normal pressure kieserite process, which can gradually eliminate the existed waste liquid and aid in the sustainable development of the Yuncheng salt-lake.The continuous experiment of salt-making process running stably in the double salt region without double salt formation, which proves the feasibility of salt-forming diagram applied in industrial process.Thus salt-forming diagram would be extremely valuable to industry process design and control, especially, the treatment of concentrated brine.

The essence of objective things is expressed through a unique and novel thinking activity, thus forming a multi-dimensional solution, and obtaining more effective solutions, that is, creative thinking. Methodology of the Comprehensive Teacher Training

Pedagogical tradition regarding musical education in Russia is one of the country culture achievements.Arrangement of quality musical pedagogy has been a matter of special importance within half a century history ofmusic education system forming. Training of music teachers is particularly important in the field of music theory,as the comprehensive musician training is specific for Russian music education, where besides playing a musicinstrument he must possess knowledge from the music theory field, make sense of music pieces, and understandand analyze them. The conservatism in teaching traditions preservation began interfering with changing priorities ofeducation. As a result, stagnation in the field of musical pedagogy was outlined in the early XXI century. This hasaffected teaching music and theoretical subjects, which became heavy, boring, and unpopular due to conservatismin teaching methods and focus on students＇ motivation. CBL结合形成性评价应用于住院医师规范化培训中对其成绩及临床思维的影响

目的 探讨住院医师规范化培训中应用案例教学法(CBL)结合形成性评价对其成绩、临床思维的影响。方法 从2021年9月至2022年10月和2022年11月至2023年11月在潍坊医学院附属医院接受规范化培训的住院医师中各选取25名,分别设为对照组和观察组,对照组行常规教学,观察组采用CBL结合形成性评价教学。比较两组自主学习能力、学习成绩及临床思维能力。结果 出科时,观察组积极主动学习能力量表各方面评分高于对照组,差异有统计学意义(P <0.05);观察组理论、实践操作成绩高于对照组,差异有统计学意义(P <0.05);观察组医学生临床思维能力评价量表各维度评分高于对照组,差异有统计学意义(P <0.05)。结论 住院医师规范化培训中应用CBL结合形成性评价可有效提升其自主学习能力,进一步提高成绩及临床思维能力。

Mini-CEX联合MDT在急诊科住院医师规范化培训中的应用效果

目的探讨迷你临床演练评估(mini-clinical evaluation exercise,Mini-CEX)联合多学科综合治疗协作组(multidisciplinary team,MDT)在急诊科住院医师规范化培训中的运用效果。方法选择于医院急诊科进行规范化培训的住院医师,2022年6—8月进行规范化培训者为传统培训组,2022年9—11月进行规范化培训者为Mini-CEX联合MDT组。传统培训组35名,给予常规教学方式教学,Mini-CEX联合MDT组35名,给予Mini-CEX联合MDT教学,教学完成后评估规范化培训住院医师的理论成绩及实际操作技能,教学前、后通过Mini-CEX考核规范化培训住院医师的问诊能力、临床诊断、操作能力、查体能力、治疗方案、沟通能力,给予评判性思维能力量表-中文版(critical thinking disposition inventory—Chinese version,CTDI-CV)、学生自主学习能力评价量表评价,比较2组教学满意度。结果Mini-CEX联合MDT组理论知识、实际操作技能评分较传统培训组高,差异有统计学意义(P<0.001);Mini-CEX联合MDT组问诊能力、临床诊断、操作能力、查体能力、治疗方案、沟通能力评分较传统培训组高,差异有统计学意义(P<0.001);Mini-CEX联合MDT组CTDI-CV评分较传统培训组低,自主学习能力评分、教学满意度较传统培训组高,差异有统计学意义(P<0.001)。Mini-CEX联合MDT组教学满意度(97.14%)较传统培训组高(85.71%),差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论在急诊科住院医师规范化培训中运用Mini-CEX联合MDT教学,可提升规范化培训住院医师理论及实践操作成绩,提升其综合临床能力、评判性思维能力、自学能力及教学满意度。
