The role of forest culture in green construction and management of forest parks:merging knowledge-attitude-practice and theory of planned behavior

As a cultural concept refl ecting the relationship between humans and forests,forest culture plays an active role in sustainable forest management.Forest parks provide a wide range of ecosystem services essential for the sustainable development of society,and the relationships between forest culture,green construction and management of forest parks have practical signifi cance.This study aimed to understand the interaction and process of forest culture infl uencing green construction and management in forest parks with the models Knowledge-Attitude-Practice(KAP)and Theory of Planned Behavior(TPB)by proposing a theoretical model.Four hypotheses were tested using data collected from 193 forest park employees in Heilongjiang Province,China.Our results show that forest culture had a signifi cant infl uence on green construction and forest management.In addition,subjective norm and perceived behavioral control directly impacted behavior in green construction and management of the forest park,whereas attitude did not have an impact.Subjective norm had a direct eff ect on attitude.Results between constructs show that forest culture had an indirect eff ect on planning and construction,and on ecological and economic management.Consequently,it supported three of four hypotheses within the proposed model in determining the infl uence of forest culture on green construction and management.

A Study on Translation of Chinese Culture-loaded Words from the Per-spective of Relevance Theory

The essay tends to analyze the translation of Chinese Culture-loaded words from the perspective of Relevance Theory.The theory gains its prominence by studying the translation process and transcending the conflicts between literal and free translation. It incorporates recent work in cognitive linguistics, with ostensive-inference as its key model. Under the influence of Relevance theory, the translation of culture-loaded words is reader-oriented. Translators are obliged to help target readers to establish new assumptions to achieve equivalent response.

Renewal Design of Marketplace Culture Spaces in Traditional Blocks Based on Catalyst Theory: A Case Study of Pengzhen Town in Shuangliu District of Chengdu

In this study, three kinds of spaces with different marketplace atmospheres, namely, the tea-drinking space, the commercial space and the courtyard space, are created with the aid of the marketplace culture characteristics of the local blocks in Pengzhen Town and the catalyst theory, so as to achieve the purpose of activating the traditional blocks in Pengzhen Town. The design takes the marketplace culture as the entry point and the most vigorous points as the catalyst points to create a living space with strong marketplace flavor, thereby activating the economic and social activities of the traditional block and promotes the sustainable renewal of the cultural space.

Between the City and Images:An Analysis of Mainstream Media’s Paths of Constructing the Cultural Memory of a City:Taking Chengdu Radio and Television’s“Hi Chengdu”as an Example

Mainstream media play a crucial role in constructing the cultural memory of a city.This study used 319 short videos released by“Hi Chengdu,”a new media product of Chengdu Radio and Television,as samples.Based on the grounded theory,a research framework encompassing“content,technology,and discourse”was established to explore the paths through which mainstream media construct the cultural memory.Regarding content,this paper emphasized temporal and spatial contexts and urban spaces,delving deep into the themes of the cultural memory and vehicles for it.In terms of technology,this paper discussed the practice of leveraging audio/visual-mode discourse to stitch together the impressions of a city and evoke emotional resonance to create a“flow”of memory.As for discourse,this paper looked at the performance of a communication ritual to frame concepts and shape urban identity.It is essential to break free from conventional thinking and leverage local culture as the primary driving force to further boost a city’s productivity,in order to excel in cultural communication.

Construction of Chaoshan Cuisine Culture Space

Chaoshan cuisine originates from the unique Chaoshan regional culture and has undergonethousands of years of sedimentation and development. Chaoshan cuisine has a wide range of ingredients,exquisite materials, emphasis on knife cutting, and a focus on freshness. It emphasizes the original taste anda clear and mellow taste, which is extremely characterized by Lingnan culture. In this paper, research dataare collected from social media and online comments, supplemented by targeted interviews, questionnaires,and other methods. It uses grounded theory for data analysis. Through the induction and summary ofopen coding, axial coding, and selective coding based on grounded theory, it summarizes the physical space,cultural space, spiritual cultural space, and communication space of Chaoshan cuisine culture.

A Study on the Translation of Culture Loaded Words From the Perspective of Skopos Theory

“A word is the best evidence of the reality of culture,in the sense of a historically transmitted system of conceptions and attitudes”.University website is an important window of foreign publicity while its English version is an important window for foreign students in particular.Culture loaded words,with their unique foreign flavor,are the miniature of colorful culture.Therefore,the translation of culture loaded words on university websites plays an important role in foreign publicity,as it will reflect the image of different university and indirectly affect the foreign publicity of China.This study selects from the websites of North China Electric Power University(NCEPU)two representative news and analyzes the translation of culture loaded words on university websites from the perspective of Skopos Theory.Finally,the author proposes three methods in translating these words—transliteration,literal translation,and free translation,which are suggestive for the translation of culture loaded words on the university websites.

On the Theory of Communicative Action of Jurgen Habermas and the Reconstruction of the Legal Culture of China

Habermas is one of the Western scholars who make great contribution to the contem porary humanistic and social science. He puts forward the theory of communicative action,which,with language as the medium,aims at mutual understanding and reaching an agreement. The theory of communicative action of Haberm as has the model significance for the reconstruction of the legal culture of China. Through studying of such a theory,this paper attem pts to interpret the rationalistic philosophy of the Western legal democracy which is based on the theory of discussion,and according to the current situation of the legal culture of China,this paper puts forward that we should refer to the theory of communicative action of Haberm as in order to accelerate the socialist legislation and prom ote the im plementation of the socialist concept of ruling by law.

An Analysis on Cultural Values of Companies from China and the United States——Based on Hofstede's Cultural Dimension Theory

Nowadays, commercial competition is becoming fiercer and fiercer, and with the globalization proceeding, when a company tries to expand, promote and develop, it needs to adapt itself to the open business society while not losing its own culture. Since English has been widely used in the world, an effective and suitable English website is essential for a company to use as a kind of advertisement and publicity, where its cultural values are presented.With companies' websites as subjects and Hofstede's cultural dimension theory as the theoretical basis, this study, through text content and data analysis of company profiles,strategies and cultures, tries to find out the tendency of Chinese and American companies on the five cultural value dimensions,which is power distance, uncertainty avoidance, individualism, masculinity and long-term orientation. Accordingly, constructive suggestions are put forward to help appease and avoid misunderstandings, and promote business communication and collaboration.
