In contrast with related works, only the most fundamental requ...The problem of prescribed performance tracking control for unknown time-delay nonlinear systems subject to output constraints is dealt with in this paper. In contrast with related works, only the most fundamental requirements, i.e., boundedness and the local Lipschitz condition, are assumed for the allowable time delays. Moreover, we focus on the case where the reference is unknown beforehand, which renders the standard prescribed performance control designs under output constraints infeasible. To conquer these challenges, a novel robust prescribed performance control approach is put forward in this paper.Herein, a reverse tuning function is skillfully constructed and automatically generates a performance envelop for the tracking error. In addition, a unified performance analysis framework based on proof by contradiction and the barrier function is established to reveal the inherent robustness of the control system against the time delays. It turns out that the system output tracks the reference with a preassigned settling time and good accuracy,without constraint violations. A comparative simulation on a two-stage chemical reactor is carried out to illustrate the above theoretical findings.展开更多

Taking dyn...A study was conducted on the effect of time delay and structural parameters on the vibration reduction of a time delayed coupled negative stiffness dynamic absorber in nonlinear vibration reduction systems. Taking dynamic absorbers with different structural and control parameters as examples, the effects of third-order nonlinear coefficients, time-delay control parameters, and negative stiffness coefficients on reducing the replication of the main system were discussed. The nonlinear dynamic absorber has a very good vibration reduction effect at the resonance point of the main system and a nearby area, and when 1 increases to a certain level, the stable region of the system continues to increase. The amplitude curve of the main system of a nonlinear dynamic absorber will generate Hop bifurcation and saddle node bifurcation in the region far from the resonance point, resulting in almost periodic motion and jumping phenomena in the system. For nonlinear dynamic absorbers with determined structural parameters, time-delay feedback control can be adopted to control the amplitude of the main system. For different negative stiffness coefficients, there exists a minimum damping point for the amplitude of the main system under the determined system structural parameters and time-delay feedback control parameters.展开更多
BACKGROUND Meniscal tears are one of the most common knee injuries.After the diagnosis of a meniscal tear has been made,there are several factors physicians use to guide clinical decision-making.The influence of time ...BACKGROUND Meniscal tears are one of the most common knee injuries.After the diagnosis of a meniscal tear has been made,there are several factors physicians use to guide clinical decision-making.The influence of time between injury and isolated meniscus repair on patient outcomes is not well described.Assessing this relationship is important as it may influence clinical decision-making and can add to the preoperative patient education process.We hypothesized that increasing the time from injury to meniscus surgery would worsen postoperative outcomes.AIM To investigate the current literature for data on the relationship between time between meniscus injury and repair on patient outcomes.METHODS PubMed,Academic Search Complete,MEDLINE,CINAHL,and SPORTDiscus were searched for studies published between January 1,1995 and July 13,2023 on isolated meniscus repair.Exclusion criteria included concomitant ligament surgery,incomplete outcomes or time to surgery data,and meniscectomies.Patient demographics,time to injury,and postoperative outcomes from each study were abstracted and analyzed.RESULTS Five studies met all inclusion and exclusion criteria.There were 204(121 male,83 female)patients included.Three of five(60%)studies determined that time between injury and surgery was not statistically significant for postoperative Lysholm scores(P=0.62),Tegner scores(P=0.46),failure rate(P=0.45,P=0.86),and International Knee Documentation Committee scores(P=0.65).Two of five(40%)studies found a statistically significant increase in Lysholm scores with shorter time to surgery(P=0.03)and a statistically significant association between progression of medial meniscus extrusion ratio(P=0.01)and increasing time to surgery.CONCLUSION Our results do not support the hypothesis that increased time from injury to isolated meniscus surgery worsens postoperative outcomes.Decision-making primarily based on injury interval is thus not recommended.展开更多
Several promising plasma biomarker proteins,such as amyloid-β(Aβ),tau,neurofilament light chain,and glial fibrillary acidic protein,are widely used for the diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases.However,little is k...Several promising plasma biomarker proteins,such as amyloid-β(Aβ),tau,neurofilament light chain,and glial fibrillary acidic protein,are widely used for the diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases.However,little is known about the long-term stability of these biomarker proteins in plasma samples stored at-80°C.We aimed to explore how storage time would affect the diagnostic accuracy of these biomarkers using a large cohort.Plasma samples from 229 cognitively unimpaired individuals,encompassing healthy controls and those experiencing subjective cognitive decline,as well as 99 patients with cognitive impairment,comprising those with mild cognitive impairment and dementia,were acquired from the Sino Longitudinal Study on Cognitive Decline project.These samples were stored at-80°C for up to 6 years before being used in this study.Our results showed that plasma levels of Aβ42,Aβ40,neurofilament light chain,and glial fibrillary acidic protein were not significantly correlated with sample storage time.However,the level of total tau showed a negative correlation with sample storage time.Notably,in individuals without cognitive impairment,plasma levels of total protein and tau phosphorylated protein threonine 181(p-tau181)also showed a negative correlation with sample storage time.This was not observed in individuals with cognitive impairment.Consequently,we speculate that the diagnostic accuracy of plasma p-tau181 and the p-tau181 to total tau ratio may be influenced by sample storage time.Therefore,caution is advised when using these plasma biomarkers for the identification of neurodegenerative diseases,such as Alzheimer's disease.Furthermore,in cohort studies,it is important to consider the impact of storage time on the overall results.展开更多

In this paper, coexisting phenomenon in a fourth-order time-delayed power system is investigated for the first time with different initial conditions.With the mechanical power, generator damping factor, exciter gain, and time delay varying, the specific characteristic of the time-delayed system, including a discontinuous "jump" bifurcation behavior is analyzed by bifurcation diagrams, phase portraits, Poincar′e maps, and power spectrums. Moreover, the coexistence of two different periodic orbits and chaotic attractors with periodic orbits are observed in the power system, respectively. The production condition and existent domain of the coexistence phenomenon are helpful to avoid undesirable behavior in time-delayed power systems.展开更多

Dynamic surface control technique is used to overcome the problem of "explosion of complexity" in backstepping design procedure. In addition, the semiglobal uniform ultimate boundedness of all the signals in the closed-loop system is proved. A main advantage of the proposed controller is that both problems of "curse of dimensionality" and "explosion of complexity" are avoided simultaneously. We treat the time delay as a perturbation and analyse the effect of the time delay on the Turing and Hopf instabilities near the Turing Hopf codimension-two phase space. Numerical simulations show that the transition between the Turing patterns (hexagon, stripe, and honeycomb), the dual-mode antispiral, and the antispiral by applying appropriate feedback parameters. The dual-mode antispiral pattern originates from the competition between the Turing and Hopf instabilities. Our results have shown the flexibility of the time delay on controlling the pattern formations near the Turing-Hopf codimension-two phase space.展开更多

Making use of linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach, a time-delay-dependent criterion for a discrete system with multi-time-delay to satisfy H ∞ performance indices is induced, and then a strategy for H ∞ state feedback control with delay values for plant with multi-time-delay is obtained. By solving corresponding LMI, a delay-dependent state feedback controller satisfying H ∞ performance indices is designed. Firstly, we present a parameter-dependent l 2-l ∞ performance criterion using a parameter-dependent Lyapunov function. Upon the conditions addressed, an improved parameter-dependent l 2-l ∞ performance criterion is established by the introduction of a slack variable, which exhibits a kind of decoupling between Lyapunov functions and system matrices. This kind of decoupling enables us to obtain more easily tractable conditions for analysis and synthesis problems. Then, the corresponding parameter-dependent state-feedback controller design is investigated upon these performance criteria, with sufficient conditions obtained for the existence of admissible controllers in terms of parameterized linear matrix inequalities. The production condition and existent domain of the coexistence phenomenon are helpful to avoid undesirable behavior in time-delayed power systems.

文摘Based on the fluid flow time-delayed model proposed by Misra et al in internet congestion control, one modified time-delayed model is presented, where the influence of the communication delay on the router queue length is investigated in detail. The main advantage of the new model is that its stability domain is larger even without an extra controller. By linear stability analysis and numerical simulation, tbe effectiveness and feasibility of the novel model in internet congestion control are verified.
文摘This paper proposes an adaptive neural network control method for a class of perturbed strict-feedback nonlinear systems with unknown time delays. Radial basis function neural networks are used to approximate unknown intermediate control signals. By constructing appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals, the unknown time delay terms have been compensated. Dynamic surface control technique is used to overcome the problem of "explosion of complexity" in backstepping design procedure. In addition, the semiglobal uniform ultimate boundedness of all the signals in the closed-loop system is proved. A main advantage of the proposed controller is that both problems of "curse of dimensionality" and "explosion of complexity" are avoided simultaneously. Finally, simulation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach.

文摘The controllable transition between Turing and antispiral patterns is studied by using a time-delayed-feedback strategy in a FitzHugh-Nagumo model. We treat the time delay as a perturbation and analyse the effect of the time delay on the Turing and Hopf instabilities near the Turing Hopf codimension-two phase space. Numerical simulations show that the transition between the Turing patterns (hexagon, stripe, and honeycomb), the dual-mode antispiral, and the antispiral by applying appropriate feedback parameters. The dual-mode antispiral pattern originates from the competition between the Turing and Hopf instabilities. Our results have shown the flexibility of the time delay on controlling the pattern formations near the Turing-Hopf codimension-two phase space.

文摘The boundary control problem of a cantilever Euler-Bernoulli beam with input time delay is considered.In order to exponentially stabilize the system, a feedback controller is adopted.And we study the well-posedness and exponential stability of the closed-loop system.The approach used in this paper is done by several steps.Firstly, the well-posedness of this system is proved by semi-group theory.Secondly, the asymptotical expression of eigenvalue is investigated by spectral analysis.Thirdly, the exponential stability of the system is studied by multiplier technology.Finally, numerical simulations on the dynamical behavior of the system are given to support the results obtained.

文摘This paper deals with the problems of robust reliable exponential stabilization and robust stochastic stabilization with H-infinity performance for a class of nonlinear uncertain time-delay stochastic systems with Markovian jumping parameters. The time delays are assumed to be dependent on the system modes. Delay-dependent conditions for the solvability of these problems are obtained via parameter-dependent Lyapunov functionals. Furthermore, it is shown that the desired state feedback controller can be designed by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities. Finally, the simulation is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods.
文摘In this paper, H ∞ state feedback control with delay information for discrete systems with multi-time-delay is discussed. Making use of linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach, a time-delay-dependent criterion for a discrete system with multi-time-delay to satisfy H ∞ performance indices is induced, and then a strategy for H ∞ state feedback control with delay values for plant with multi-time-delay is obtained. By solving corresponding LMI, a delay-dependent state feedback controller satisfying H ∞ performance indices is designed. 文摘This paper investigates the Hopf bifurcations resulting from time delay in a coupled relative-rotation system with time- delay feedbacks. Firstly, considering external excitation, the dynamical equation of relative rotation nonlinear dynamical system with primary resonance and 1:1 internal resonance under time-delay feedbacks is deduced. Secondly, the averaging equation is obtained by the multiple scales method. The periodic solution in a closed form is presented by a perturbation approach. At last, numerical simulations confirm that time-delay theoretical analyses have influence on the Hopf bifurcation point and the stability of periodic solution.
文摘This paper is concerned with the robust H ∞ control with exponent stability for a class of time delay uncertain systems. Attention is focused on the design of controllers such that the resulting closed loop system not only is exponentially stable but also satisfies, H ∞ disturbance attenuance via memoryless state feedback control. Sufficient conditions for feasibility are obtained in terms of LMIs. Moreover, optimization of LMI is considered such that the controller with low gain parameters is formulated.

文摘A novel approach for the actuator fault diagnosis of time-delay systems is presented by using an adaptive observer technique. Systems without model uncertainty are initially considered, followed by a discussion of a general situation where the system is subjected to either model uncertainty or external disturbance. An adaptive diagnostic algorithm is developed to diagnose the fault, and a modified version is proposed for general system to improve robustness. The selection of the threshold for fault detection is also discussed. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the efficiency of the proposed method.

文摘One of the first attempts to derive energy-to-peak performance criteria and state-feedback controller design problem for linear parameter-varying discrete time systems with time delay is provided. Firstly, we present a parameter-dependent l 2-l ∞ performance criterion using a parameter-dependent Lyapunov function. Upon the conditions addressed, an improved parameter-dependent l 2-l ∞ performance criterion is established by the introduction of a slack variable, which exhibits a kind of decoupling between Lyapunov functions and system matrices. This kind of decoupling enables us to obtain more easily tractable conditions for analysis and synthesis problems. Then, the corresponding parameter-dependent state-feedback controller design is investigated upon these performance criteria, with sufficient conditions obtained for the existence of admissible controllers in terms of parameterized linear matrix inequalities. Finally, a numerical example is provided to illustrate the feasibility and advantage of the proposed controller design procedure.

文摘In this paper, a predator-prey model of three species is investigated, the necessary and sucient of the stable equilibrium point for this model is studied. Further, by introduc-ing a delay as a bifurcation parameter, it is found that Hopf bifurcation occurs when τ cross some critical values. And, the stability and direction of hopf bifurcation are determined by applying the normal form theory and center manifold theory. numerical simulation results are given to support the theoretical predictions. At last, the periodic solution of this system is computed.

文摘Spectral abscissa(SA)is defined as the real part of the rightmost characteristic root(s)of a dynamical system,and it can be regarded as the decaying rate of the system,the smaller the better from the viewpoint of fast stabilization.Based on the Puiseux series expansion of complex-valued functions,this paper shows that the SA can be minimized within a given delay interval at values where the characteristic equation has repeated roots with multiplicity 2 or 3.Four sufficient conditions in terms of the partial derivatives of the characteristic function are established for testing whether the SA is minimized or not,and they can be tested directly and easily.
