Timing speculative(TS)architecture is promising for improving the energy efficiency of microprocessors.Error recovery units,designed for tolerating occasional timing errors,have been used to support a wider range of v...Timing speculative(TS)architecture is promising for improving the energy efficiency of microprocessors.Error recovery units,designed for tolerating occasional timing errors,have been used to support a wider range of voltage scaling,therefore to achieve a better energy efficiency.More specifically,the timing error rate,influenced mainly by data forwarding,is the bottleneck for voltage down-scaling in TS processors.In this paper,a new Timing Error Aware Register Allocation method is proposed.First,we designed the Dependency aware Interference Graph(DIG)construction to get the information of Read after Write(RAW)in programs.To build the construction,we get the disassemble code as input and suppose that there are unlimited registers,the same way as so-called virtual registers in many compilers.Then we change the disassemble codes to the SSA form for each basic block to make sure the registers are defined only once.Based on the DIG construction,registers were real-located to eliminate the timing error,by loosening the RAW dependencies.We con-struct the DIG for each function of the program and sort the edge of DIG by an increasing weight order.Since a smaller weighted-edge value means that its owner nodes have more frequent access in instruction flows,we expect it in different registers with no read-write dependency.At the same time,we make sure that there are no additional new spill codes emerging in our algorithm to minimize the rate of spill code.A high rate of spill code will not only decrease the performance of the system but also increase the unexpected read-write dependency.Next,we reallocate the reg-isters by weight order in turn to loosen the RAW dependencies.Furthermore,we use the NOP operation to pad the instructions with a minimal distance value of 2.Experiment results showed that the average distance of RAW dependencies was increased by over 20%.展开更多

Two methods of imposing initial conditions are given, which avoids the tediousness when derivative initial conditions are imposed, and the numerical comparisons indicate that the first method, in which the analog equations of initial displacements and velocities are used to directly replace the differential quadra- ture (DQ) analog equations of ODEs at the first and the last sampling points, respectively, is much more accurate than the second method, in which the DQ analog equations of initial conditions are used to directly replace the DQ analog equations of ODEs at the first two sampling points. On the contrary to the conventional step-by-step direct integration schemes, the solutions at all sampling points can be obtained simultaneously by DQTEM, and generally, one differential quadrature time element may be enough for the whole time domain. The time-of-arrival(TOA) accuracy can affect the quantum bit error rate(QBER) and the final key rate. To achieve a higher accuracy and a better QKD performance, different from designing more complicated hardware circuits, we present a scheme that uses the mean TOA of M frequency-entangled photons to replace the TOA of a single photon. Moreover, to address the problem that the entanglement property is usually sensitive to the photon loss in practice,we further propose two schemes, which adopt partially entangled photons and grouping-entangled photons, respectively.In addition, we compare the effects of these three alternative schemes on the QKD performance and discuss the selection strategy for the optimal scheme in detail. The simulation results show that the proposed schemes can improve the QKD performance compared to the conventional single-photon scheme obviously, which demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed schemes.展开更多
The continuous phase modulation(CPM)technique is widely used in range telemetry due to its high spectral efficiency and power efficiency.However,the demodulation performance of the traditional maximum likelihood seque...The continuous phase modulation(CPM)technique is widely used in range telemetry due to its high spectral efficiency and power efficiency.However,the demodulation performance of the traditional maximum likelihood sequence detection(MLSD)algorithm significantly deteriorates in non-ideal synchronization or fading channels.To address this issue,this work proposes a convolutional neural network(CNN)called the cascade parallel crossing network(CPCNet)to enhance the robustness of CPM signals demodulation.The CPCNet model employs a multiple parallel structure and feature fusion to extract richer features from CPM signals.This approach constructs feature maps at different levels,resulting in a more comprehensive training of the model and improved demodulation performance.Simulation results show that under Gaussian channel,the proposed CPCNet achieves the same bit error rate(BER)performance as MLSD method when there is no timing error,but with 1/4 symbol period timing error,the proposed method has 2 dB demodulation gain compared with CNN and convolutional long short-term memory deep neural network(CLDNN).In addition,under Rayleigh channel,the BER of the proposed method is reduced by 5%-87%compared to that of MLSD in the wide signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)region.展开更多
Due to frequency-selective and time-variant property of wireless channel together with additive noise and mismatch of oscillators between transmitter and receiver, there are always time and frequency synchronization e...Due to frequency-selective and time-variant property of wireless channel together with additive noise and mismatch of oscillators between transmitter and receiver, there are always time and frequency synchronization errors in a practical OFDM system. To investigate the effect of the two kinds of errors on system performance, the average normalized interference power (NIP) is defined. A simple supper bound for NIP caused by time synchronization error (TSE) and the tighter upper bound for NIP resulting from frequency synchronization error (FSE) are derived independently. Simulations in typical short wave (SW) and medium wave (MW) channels further verify the correctness and tightness of these upper bounds. They actually provide good approximations to NIPs. Moreover, the upper bound for NIP resulting from FSE is tighter than traditional upper bound. Additionally, a new solution is proposed to relax the precision requirement for time synchronization algorithm, which can achieve a better tradeoff between time synchronization precision and bandwidth efficiency. These upper bounds will be useful in developing and choosing time and frequency synchronization algorithms in OFDM system to achieve a specific NIP value for a given channel condition.展开更多
Aiming at the problems of slow dynamic response and weak robustness of integer-order proportional integral(PI)controller in double closed loop vector control system of permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM),a method...Aiming at the problems of slow dynamic response and weak robustness of integer-order proportional integral(PI)controller in double closed loop vector control system of permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM),a method of combining dragonfly algorithm with fractional order PI control is proposed for off-line parameter tuning for the outer loop of speed of the system.The parameter to be optimized is used as the spatial position of the optimal individual searching for food sources in the search space,and the error performance index integrated time and absolute error(ITAE)is used as its target fitness function.The motor speed regulation performances of traditional engineering experience setting integer order PI,particle swarm optimization algorithm tuning fractional order PI and dragonfly algorithm tuning fractional order PI are compared,respectively.Results show that the fractional order PI controller optimized by dragonfly algorithm can improve the dynamic response performance of the system,reduce overshoot and enhance robustness,which proves the feasibility and superiority of the optimization strategy.展开更多

However, there are some problems in practical applications. Here we analyze the location performance of the time sum of arrival(TSOA) algorithm from the root mean square error(RMSE) and geometric dilution of precision(GDOP) in additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN) environment. The TSOA localization model is constructed. Using it, the distribution of location ambiguity region is presented with 4-base stations. And then, the location performance analysis is started from the 4-base stations with calculating the RMSE and GDOP variation. Subsequently, when the location parameters are changed in number of base stations, base station layout and so on, the performance changing patterns of the TSOA location algorithm are shown. So, the TSOA location characteristics and performance are revealed. From the RMSE and GDOP state changing trend, the anti-noise performance and robustness of the TSOA localization algorithm are proved. The TSOA anti-noise performance will be used for reducing the blind-zone and the false location rate of MLAT systems.展开更多

Integral of time absolute error (ITAE) index is minimized for specified gain and phase margins (GPM) constraints, so that the transient performance and robustness are both satisfied. The requirements on gain and phase margins are ingeniously formulated by real part constraints (RPC) and imaginary part constraints (IPC). This set of new constraints is simply related with three parameters and decoupling of the remaining four unknowns, including three controller parameters and the gain margin, in the nonlinear and coupled characteristic equation simultaneously. The formulas of the optimal GPM-PID are derived based on controller scaling analysis. Finally, this method is applied to liquid level control of coke fractionation tower, which demonstrate that the proposed method provides better disturbance rejection and robust tracking performance than some commonly used PID tuning methods.展开更多

The scheme is formulated by introducing the equivalent integral equation of the primal equation. The proposed scheme does not explicitly include the jump terms in time, which represent the discontinuity characteristics of approximate solution. And then the complexity of the theoretical analysis is reduced. The existence and uniqueness of the approximate solution and the stability of the scheme are proved. The optimalorder error estimates in L2 (H1) and L2 (L2) norms are derived. These estimates are valid under weak restrictions on the space-time mesh, namely, without the condition kn ≥ ch2, which is necessary in traditional space-time discontinuous Galerkin methods. Because of error propagation among different cooperating processes, an error occurring in one process may influ...The problem of adapting backward error recovery to parallel real time systems is discussed in this paper. Because of error propagation among different cooperating processes, an error occurring in one process may influence some important outputs in other processes. Therefore, a local output has to be delayed until its validity is confirmed globally. Since backward error recovery adopts redundancy of computing time instead of processing equipment, the variation of the actual execution time of a cooperating process may be very large if it works in an unreliable environment. These problems are the primary obstacles to be removed. Previous studies focus their attentions on how to eliminate domino-effect dynamically. But backward error recovery cannot be applied directly in parallel real time systems even under the condition that no domino-effect exists. How to reduce output delays efficiently if no domino-effect remains? How to estimate this delay time? How to calculate the actual execution time of every process and how to schedule these processes under an unstable condition? These problems were omitted in literature unfortunately. The interest of this paper is to provide satisfactory solutions to these problems to make it possible to adopt backward error recovery efficiently in parallel real time systems.展开更多

Simulations in typical short wave (SW) and medium wave (MW) channels further verify the correctness and tightness of these upper bounds. They actually provide good approximations to NIPs. Moreover, the upper bound for NIP resulting from FSE is tighter than traditional upper bound. Additionally, a new solution is proposed to relax the precision requirement for time synchronization algorithm, which can achieve a better tradeoff between time synchronization precision and bandwidth efficiency. These upper bounds will be useful in developing and choosing time and frequency synchronization algorithms in OFDM system to achieve a specific NIP value for a given channel condition.

文摘Aiming at the problems of slow dynamic response and weak robustness of integer-order proportional integral(PI)controller in double closed loop vector control system of permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM),a method of combining dragonfly algorithm with fractional order PI control is proposed for off-line parameter tuning for the outer loop of speed of the system.The parameter to be optimized is used as the spatial position of the optimal individual searching for food sources in the search space,and the error performance index integrated time and absolute error(ITAE)is used as its target fitness function.The motor speed regulation performances of traditional engineering experience setting integer order PI,particle swarm optimization algorithm tuning fractional order PI and dragonfly algorithm tuning fractional order PI are compared,respectively.Results show that the fractional order PI controller optimized by dragonfly algorithm can improve the dynamic response performance of the system,reduce overshoot and enhance robustness,which proves the feasibility and superiority of the optimization strategy.

文摘This paper is devoted to the study of a nonlinear evolution eddy current model of the type δtB(H) + △↓× ( △↓ × H) =0 subject to homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions H × v = 0 and a given initial datum. Here, the magnetic properties of a soft ferromagnet are linked by a nonlinear material law described by B(H). We apply the backward Euler method for the time discretization and we derive the error estimates in suitable function spaces. The results depend on the nonlinearity of B(H).

文摘The theoretical positioning accuracy of multilateration(MLAT) with the time difference of arrival(TDOA) algorithm is very high. However, there are some problems in practical applications. Here we analyze the location performance of the time sum of arrival(TSOA) algorithm from the root mean square error(RMSE) and geometric dilution of precision(GDOP) in additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN) environment. The TSOA localization model is constructed. Using it, the distribution of location ambiguity region is presented with 4-base stations. And then, the location performance analysis is started from the 4-base stations with calculating the RMSE and GDOP variation. Subsequently, when the location parameters are changed in number of base stations, base station layout and so on, the performance changing patterns of the TSOA location algorithm are shown. So, the TSOA location characteristics and performance are revealed. From the RMSE and GDOP state changing trend, the anti-noise performance and robustness of the TSOA localization algorithm are proved. The TSOA anti-noise performance will be used for reducing the blind-zone and the false location rate of MLAT systems.

文摘In this paper, a new analysis and design method for proportional-integrative-derivative (PID) tuning is proposed based on controller scaling analysis. Integral of time absolute error (ITAE) index is minimized for specified gain and phase margins (GPM) constraints, so that the transient performance and robustness are both satisfied. The requirements on gain and phase margins are ingeniously formulated by real part constraints (RPC) and imaginary part constraints (IPC). This set of new constraints is simply related with three parameters and decoupling of the remaining four unknowns, including three controller parameters and the gain margin, in the nonlinear and coupled characteristic equation simultaneously. The formulas of the optimal GPM-PID are derived based on controller scaling analysis. Finally, this method is applied to liquid level control of coke fractionation tower, which demonstrate that the proposed method provides better disturbance rejection and robust tracking performance than some commonly used PID tuning methods.

文摘This article presents a complete discretization of a nonlinear Sobolev equation using space-time discontinuous Galerkin method that is discontinuous in time and continuous in space. The scheme is formulated by introducing the equivalent integral equation of the primal equation. The proposed scheme does not explicitly include the jump terms in time, which represent the discontinuity characteristics of approximate solution. And then the complexity of the theoretical analysis is reduced. The existence and uniqueness of the approximate solution and the stability of the scheme are proved. The optimalorder error estimates in L2 (H1) and L2 (L2) norms are derived. These estimates are valid under weak restrictions on the space-time mesh, namely, without the condition kn ≥ ch2, which is necessary in traditional space-time discontinuous Galerkin methods. Numerical experiments are presented to verify the theoretical results.
文摘The problem of adapting backward error recovery to parallel real time systems is discussed in this paper. Because of error propagation among different cooperating processes, an error occurring in one process may influence some important outputs in other processes. Therefore, a local output has to be delayed until its validity is confirmed globally. Since backward error recovery adopts redundancy of computing time instead of processing equipment, the variation of the actual execution time of a cooperating process may be very large if it works in an unreliable environment. These problems are the primary obstacles to be removed. Previous studies focus their attentions on how to eliminate domino-effect dynamically. But backward error recovery cannot be applied directly in parallel real time systems even under the condition that no domino-effect exists. How to reduce output delays efficiently if no domino-effect remains? How to estimate this delay time? How to calculate the actual execution time of every process and how to schedule these processes under an unstable condition? These problems were omitted in literature unfortunately. The interest of this paper is to provide satisfactory solutions to these problems to make it possible to adopt backward error recovery efficiently in parallel real time systems.
文摘This paper presents an approach for oscillation damping with an integrated multi-stage linear quadratic regulator(MSLQR)FACTS controller combining power oscillation damping(POD)capabilities.The particle swarm optimization(PSO)technique has been used for precise tuning initial control parameters of power system stabilizers(PSS)and FACTS devices(such as STATCOM and UPFC)which results in improved controller performance.It is observed that the proposed control structure damps the oscillations adequately and is modular in design methodology.The sample power system comprising six areas is considered to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed concept.The states inter-relation which is shown with eigenvalues reflects better regulation with the proposed controller.The step response also validates the controller performance.
